    Lemon drop cocktail

Ren has easily become a favorite spot for me after an amazing experience. The food's quality is what I appreciated the most, especially with the great prices offered at Happy Hour. My favorites of the night were the Viva Roll, the Spicy Tuna Crispy rice and the Lemon Drop cocktail. I also thought that the quality of the salmon nigiri was great and came at a very reasonable price of $5 for two decently sized pieces. While it was delicious, the portion size of the scallop robata was a bit small. The restaurant itself was very nice and modern and the booths for seating were very spacious. The service was great as well and the staff ensured that our experience was a positive one.

Massaman (orange looking dish)?had raw potatoes and two Pad Thai's

I have been staying temporarily in the Plantation area for over a month now and we have had no choice but to eat takeout most days because of our circumstances. So I have been consistently on the hunt for good, healthy and affordable quick food in the area and my husband has been craving Thai these days. He LOVES Thai! I found Ren Thai online and placed an order for him to pickup on his way back home. 2 orders of Pad Thai for him and the kid, a Massaman Curry for me, an Aged Tofu for me as well and an order of veggie spring rolls to share. Let me first say that the photos for this place look phenomenal so I was pretty pumped to try it. to say the least. Let me also say that the food in this area seems to be pretty subpar thus far. One of my favorite dishes is Massaman Curry. I know my Massaman lemme tell ya!! This is the VERY FIRST TIME that I have had a Massaman THIS TANGY! Maybe it's Kaffir leaves? I'm not sure but the taste was overwhelmingly, lime flavored. Also, the potatoes were hard. They were nearly raw aside and so I threw them out. Furthermore, it was soupy and actually reminded me a lot of Tom Kha Gai except not as thick or as delicious. The avocado was yummy in the dish and so were the cashews but the onion was a bit undercooked as well and. I did call my order in and the guy that answered was super nice so big-ups for customer service but honestly speaking, all of the food was pretty mid. My husband wasn't feeling his Pad Thai but my daughter didn't complain. Also, the Massaman alone was $17 and I added shrimp so I paid an additional upcharge. I am hoping to find some good food in this area soon.

    Mad tuna Roll

Stopped by because of the reviews but left a little disappointed. I was there around 4pm for an early lunch and sat at the bar. It was empty other than 1 large party that seemed finish. Bartender and staff were nice. Ordered a lychee martini, gyoza, and edamame to start. The gyoza were over steamed and mushy. I had to ask 2x about the edamame and when it got to me it was cold and barely salted. I waited (not exaggerating) 25mins + for appetizers. For sushi I got the mad tuna roll which had crab cucumber with cream cheese, topped with spicy tuna, and a sweet sauce. It was extremely delicious and tasted fresh, but also took way too long. I wasn't able to order another drink because my server never swung back around. It looked like she was handling tables walking in, pick up orders, and running food. Giving 3 stars for the food being OK and the service lacking. I would definitely try again.

It's still under the name KIko but I believe the name is REN sushi...?? AMAZING!! My first time here, the food was great, nice portions, and Lychee martini was also to die for! Food was fresh tasting, so yummy! Ice, Pete, Santiago and Dave/David, they were so amazing! Food, service, atmosphere, 5 star, Amazing! My new spot to catch up and spend time with my sister. Thank you!!!

    Any vegan options?

Yes they have plenty to choose from. I'm vegetarian and eat there all the time. You may have to say with no whatever. But nice selection for those of us that don't eat meat.

    Are they any vegan options?

The Honeymoon Roll was honestly one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had. The service was prompt, friendly, and very attentive throughout our meal. The atmosphere was cute and lively. While I think it's better suited for a casual lunch or a fun dinner than a, romantic date night, it's a great place to bring family. I know my kids would absolutely love it, and we'll definitely be back.

Salmon skin (we added cream cheese), the Gamdam and the Orange dragon roll. We loved all 3. The Gamdam was my favorite. The different textures were just perfect. My husband had spicy drunken noodles with chicken. He said it was perfectly spicy. Service was very friendly. We got there about 45 minutes before closing and we never felt rushed. There were people who got there after us and they were also served at a nice pace. Can't wait to go back!

The Truffle Parm Popcorn Chicken w/ Fries were crispy and hot. They are flavorful! I washed that down with a Taro Milk w/ Ube Cream. Such a rich purple color and its flavor is on point! Everything arrived within 40 min, still hot. I ordered a ramen broth, an order of tempura shrimp along with the spicy yaki udon. The udon was not spicy at all, but very delicious. Not sure why it's referred to as "spicy", there was not a single sight of red or green chilies. I would have loved for it to have a kick of spice, but nevertheless, still delicious. The appetizer shrimp a fail, they did feel a bit chewy/ rubbery, and dry. This was not my favorite. The hot ramen broth was soothing and on a cool day like today, well worth it. I wish that my order had arrived with chopsticks, or some type of utensils. None were provided, not even napkins. And I was a little disappointed that no sauces were provided, not even for the noodles. Often times some oriental places will provide siracha or some type of chill sauce. Perhaps this places does not offer those condiments? I wish that I could have given this a 4, even 5 star, but ordering from a food service one would hope the meal arrived with at least chopsticks, or some napkins. If I visit the restaurant in person, I'll be sure to update my review then.

That said, being from NJ surrounded by great Asian food, this place definitely lived up to the expectation. The crispy spicy tuna was probably one of the best I've ever had. Our waiter checked in on how we were liking our meal and even turned a hot latte into iced without any problem. The outdoor patio is beautiful as it overlooks the beach right across the street. We went for breakfast which has a small but amazing menu. As a vegan myself I had to order off the "sides" portion of the menu and I ordered an English muffin and a sliced avocado - very affordable ($5 total). I also ordered the fruit platter ($10) which came with an array of yummy fruits including pear, melons, pineapple, oranges, grapes and strawberries. There was more than enough for our table of three! My daughter had the pancakes which came with a warmed jam, syrup, and whipped cream. She said they were very fluffy. My husband had the chaffles which are croissants pressed in a waffle maker. They came with the same sides as the pancakes. And again he said they were so light and fluffy. We rounded off our meal with iced lattes - mine made with oat milk - and they were outstanding. I usually do not like iced drinks but the weather called for it and I was not disappointed! Overall Takato's breakfast is A+ and the view takes it over the edge of greatness! I hope you get a chance to enjoy it as much as we did! We returned to Takato for dinner and what an amazing meal we had. My one warning is to ask about portion size as many dishes are worthy of sharing size. We ordered an array of food. My son loved the kimchi short rib tacos (2 to an order). My daughter had the duck bao and California roll - both received two thumbs up! My husband had the wagyu sliders which he thought were an appetizer but ended up being a good sized meal served with french fries. He said the burger roll was a bit dry and could have used a sauce. The fries received rave reviews. We also had the mushroom gyoza (5 to an order) and these were delicious. I had the Takato salad without cheese and it did not disappoint. It came in a big bowl with crispy tofu. And I also enjoyed the vegetable sushi which provided a light fragrant taste with a crunchy texture. Takato hits the mark on all fronts and will definitely be a place to which we return whenever we come to Ft. Lauderdale!

Parking was easy, with a metered lot conveniently located across the street. Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and requested outdoor seating so we could enjoy the waterfront views and watch the boats pass by. The atmosphere was relaxing, scenic, and definitely one of the highlights of the experience. Our server was friendly, attentive, and had a great personality. Table snacks was a small bowl of popcorn. To start, we ordered a Pearl Bourbon Smash and a Dragon Margarita. The Bourbon Smash was so good that we ordered a second one. The Margarita wasn't my favorite, but I finished it and followed it up with a Sensei Old Fashioned. For our entrees, we ordered the Korean BBQ Bulgogi and the Korean Steak Chimicurri (spelled that way on the menu, so I'm not sure if it was intentional). The Bulgogi portion was generous, and we really wanted to love it, but unfortunately the meat arrived cold. That was disappointing, especially after being told that everything is made from scratch. My husband's entree was served about 10 minutes before mine, which wasn't ideal. Generally, guests dining together should be served at the same time. I encouraged him to start eating so his meal wouldn't get cold, but unfortunately it already was. My steak arrived hot and was cooked slightly more than the medium temperature I requested, leaning closer to medium-well. Despite that, I still enjoyed it. It was served with jasmine rice and maduros, which complemented the dish nicely. Overall, we had a lovely dining experience. The waterfront setting, pleasant service, and enjoyable cocktails made for a great outing. We would definitely consider returning, especially to combine dinner with one of the boat tours. To top it off, our server gave us a bag of cotton candy. I felt like a kid. I haven't eaten cotton candy in years
