Expanding my list of Thai restaurants, Emerald Thai Restaurant is high on my list! We decided to dine-in on a week night. The dining area is intimate with tables & bar seating. Our waitress was kind, attentive & helpful. The food was made to order and arrived fast. I enjoyed the seafood Tom Yum Soup. It was refreshing with generous servings of shrimp, calamari & krab. Each entree is served with white rice. I thoroughly enjoyed the crispy chili duck. The skin was indeed crispy while the meat was tender. The portion alone was worth the order. I took half home. The Chicken Katsu was large as well; it is served with ketchup & bbq sauce. The chicken doesn't have a distinct seasoning. Jonathan ordered the very flavorful Massaman Curry with Salmon. My new fav Thai restaurant! I enjoy the house salad with the basil chicken. You cannot add special requests on delivery orders. I usually call and ask them to send duck sauce and add mushrooms to my meal which they kindly do with no up charge. They are very consistent with the quality of food that they send. Recent transplant to the area and a friend recommended this spot. I'm glad they did! I am not ashamed to say that I went back to back nights because the food was that good. Both times I did takeout which was quick and easy. My first venture I order the chicken fried rice with a spice level of hot. It was good but I honestly wish it was spicier. With this in mind, my next trip I ordered the panang curry Thai hot. They asked if I was sure but I would not be deterred. They even gave me some extra spice cups when I came to pick up the order. The curry was divine. The chicken was tender with a great kick from the spice in the curry. It comes with a small side of white rice which is the perfect amount to dump into the curry bowl. One of their curry dishes will be my go to going forward. The restaurant itself is quaint little spot with a lovely atmosphere. It's located in a strip mall and I was pleasantly surprised. The service was really good. Ordered Pad Gra Prow Medium spice and Panang Curry Dinner Combo and both were delicious and we received our orders really quickly as well after ordering them. This restaurant is truly a hidden jewel of Thai cuisine in Davie. It is so wonderful ! The food is super delicious, the ambiance is cozy and inviting and warm, family-friendly, laid back, mega clean. I want to especially express my appreciation for the fact that they always have fresh flowers at every table and in arrangements all over the restaurant. I have seen lilies, roses, orchids, and many other flowers grace their tables. This is a very nice and classy touch that does not go unnoticed! My husband and I have been here several times for dinner. We have tried the massaman and panang curries, the pineapple fried rice, the pad thai, the chicken larb salad (one of my favorite Thai dishes), the Tom kha gai soup. This was some of the best Thai food I've ever had in Broward. I had not noticed this place before, in a little pocket of a plaza off State Road 84 and the highway, but a friend took me here, and it was amazing. We placed our order over the phone, and when we arrived, it was ready for us, we had the pad gra prow and green curry. Both of them had the full depth of flavor that I was looking for in a good Thai dish, and were cooked to perfection. The green curry was a bit sweet, creamy with the coconut milk texture, and had all of the right ingredients, peppers, bamboo shoots, chicken, and more. It went very well with the rice, in fact, I wish they would maybe give a bit more rice with it. The pad gra prow was so good, it tasted exactly like street food in Thailand. Perhaps it was because we picked it up to go and it continued to stay heating up in the boxes before we got to the house but the egg was a little overcooked, nevertheless it was still delicious. When we were picking up our order, we saw a picture of the mango sticky rice by the register and decided to add it to our order. Came here because it was close to our hotel and were wowed! The food was delicious. I got a tofu red curry which was comfortably spicy. My coworker got pad Thai and really liked it. Everything was fresh. The mango sticky rice wasn't as creamy/milky as what I'm used to from my local Thai but it was still very yummy! Our server was awesome. We ate a good amount and basically had leftovers for a second meal! We also did a spice level 2 and for a couple of Koreans it definitely made us sweat a little so we can only imagine how hot the spicy hot Thai level is. I think if you can handle some spice a 2 is your best bet and then you can more spice with their assorted 4 spice tray. It is in more of a hidden area but it was definitely worth the drive! I think that's why on a Friday night there were only 2 tables taken... ours and a large French-speaking party. I would say if you did come here I would recommend the non-sushi part of the menu. The Pad See Ew was great and from my amazing instinct on Asian cuisine I'd say you'd enjoy some Pad Thai here as well. Regardless of my half-good/half-meh experience I will come back as I want to write about some home-runs for next time. Doesn't look like much of a restaurant from the outside or driving by but if you have any extra time to stop in and give it a chance it's well worth it. The food comes fast, fresh, and definitely meets expectations of authentic Thai food. Quaint and modest atmosphere upon walking inside the restaurant , it's a great place for lunch/ dinner dates, or even a quick lunch with a friend, family or colleague. No high noise levels and You can peacefully eat your meal while having a conversation and being able to hear one another without loud music or kitchen distractions. The owners here are very sweet and accommodating and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Thai food that is made in a fast manner and made with the upmost quality of authenticity of Thai.
