Thai Curry Restaurant is such a hidden gem in Tamarac! I treated my FIL and husband to Thai food during our Thanksgiving weekend visit. There was plenty of parking. We were greeted immediately and sat down at a clean table. We all ordered a Thai tea which was incredibly reasonably priced at only $3.50 a glass. My FIL and I also ordered a Tom Kha soup (his had shrimp, mine was chicken). He ordered cashew nut sauce with pork, my husband ordered tofu basil noodles, and I ordered tofu Massaman curry. Everything tasted great and my Massaman curry was one of the best I've ever had! It was different with sweet potato in it but the sauce was so flavorful. We all enjoyed our meals and had enough to take home. I spent (with tip), less than $80 for all of us to have 2 meals each. The portions are big enough to have a second meal! I am so sad the original owners have moved on.. Ordered my usual to-go tonight and quickly realized it was under new management. My massaman curry that I specified with no cashews came with cashews. (i have a nut allergy), the curry itself was tasty but it was watery. the crab rangoons were definitely made differently, with a thicker wrapper and less filling. None of the food that I got was good. It all tasted off like either there was an expired ingredient or just not like the dish it's listed as. The curry puffs had an overwhelming taste of powdered chicken bouillon and the mild tom kha soup tasted like fish oil, but no coconut flavor, and it has a bit of a vinegary taste. It's odd. I've had Tom Kha from at least fifty different restaurants and it's never tasted like that. The dreaming chicken has peanut sauce only drizzled on top but the veggies are sitting in a bunch of water! I'm very disappointed. The customer service was very nice but I go to restaurants for quality food. The white rice is fine and the side salad was also fine. The Crab Rangoons were filled with the cream cheese however lacked the crab taste. **CLOSED MONDAYS** We decided to shoot like Steph Curry's brother, Thai Curry and try a local business. This was also one of the only Thai restaurants that open until 9:30 PM in the area on a Sunday. This restaurant will have you saying, "don't judge a book by it's cover." The food didn't look as appetizing on Yelp and the reviews seem to be a little low for a place with the most top tier customer service I have ever witnessed. I mean every time we needed something, the staff was on their toes wanting to give us the best experience possible. They were also so hospitable that when we asked for to-go boxes they said, "what's the rush?" and this was 10 mins before they were closing. I love that about them. On to the food: My girlfriend was craving papaya salad and saw that Thai Curry had it on their menu but never pictured on Yelp. Which was concerning. We had the right to be concerned because they didn't have any that day we went. They said because they weren't able to get good papaya so they didn't want to serve which is respectable. The server recommended the Yum Ta-Lay Salad; which was a mix of seafood, veggies, chili paste and lime juice and wasn't a bad alternative. A great mix of spicy and salty but it isn't something we would order over the papaya salad. Crispy Duck with Basil Sauce- The duck was filled with protein and super crispy. The sauce was gravy-like but still hit the spot. And only 18 bucks?? You can't beat the price. Beef Pad Thai - At first glance, I can see that it looked super saucy. Which would be an indication of it going to be too sweet/salty. But as soon as I mixed it up it tasted better. To drink we got Thai ice coffee, which was a surprisingly easy drink. Sadly, I've unknowingly driven past this hidden gem for years without stopping in. Thankfully, the manager of the nearby tire shop who sevices my vehicle ordered takeout that piqued my interest. The immediate warm welcome is not a one-off. Gracious hospitality was shown throughout my in-person visit. Matching the high level of customer service is the quality and portion of the food. A few months ago, I'd dined elsewhere and was charged twice as much for the same dish. The name--Seafood Pad Thai-- was the only thing the two dishes shared. Not only are the portions served here much larger, but there is actually premium seafood throughout the dish, not just two or three small pieces strategically placed on top of a bed of noodles. The temperature was hot, and the flavor was delicious. The wall-mounted television played at a low volume that allowed patrons to enjoy their meals and talk among themselves without needing to shout. Ohh m Gee the Thai iced tea is very refreshing. I ordered their(Lunch) sweet and sour chicken with chicken fried rice. You get a good portion. The fried rice was very tasty, I wished I ordered a different entree. The chicken was overdone- very chewy and big cuts. My waitress was very attentive until it got busy. Only two ladies were working the front while I was there. If you're ordering to go please preorder before your arrival. Came here for lunch with.my mom as it's near her house. Menu includes all the typical Thai curry dishes, noodle dishes, protein with different sauces. They have a lunch portion which is a lower price then a dinner portion. I really like this because I don't always want a dinner portion. I got the pad se ewe chicken which normally comes with thick rice noodles but they explained they were out of them and they gave me the thin rice noodles. My mom had the chicken with vegetables. We got our food to go, only had to wait 10 minutes. My food was very good I like when they make the sauce without a lot of sugar. Came in here for a bite to eat with family. My first time here. This place is locates in a plaza center. You do have the option to eat in or take out. Very nice quaint spot. The restaurant was clean and the service was good. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. I asked for hit green tea and I loved the fact that they refill your hot tea. The basil fried rice with tofu was good and it came with a spring roll and a small salad or soup. The duck was crispy and came with 3 sauces which was nice to have the option to put on for more flavor and spice. The Thai tea was good as well. I am bummed! Historically I love this place! Every time i am in town overnight i make sure to get takeout from here and it's usually delicious, but tonite...it was not so good. I ordered shrimp pad Thai and there were plenty of nice sized shrimp (probably 8) but something was not right with them. They were pasty, like i could have spread them with a knife. Definitely the wrong consistency for shrimp. I attempted eating 4 of them, all were the same. I pinched the others and they had the same consistency, i just didn't actually put them in my mouth (yuk). And the flavor of the sauce for the pad Thai tasted totally different too. Maybe it was a new chef? Maybe it's a random Tuesday nite instead of a Friday or Saturday? I don't know, but I'm not happy and am now hoping i don't get sick. read more

Without a doubt one of my favorite Thai restaurants, and definitely my number one Thai restaurant in Florida. I found this restaurant back when I lived in that area. Alright guys... this is a Thai spot that is bottom line old school, like going to your Thai Uncle's house. He's got very favorable prices and the food is amazing and there's an authentic taste as well as feel to the restaurant. It is quite small so keep that in mind. To me the Pad Thai was flavorful and the appetizers, especially the shu mai was a huge favorite of mine. Had a very good lunch here today with an old friend who though well traveled was not familiar with Thai food. Luckily she liked curry and was willing to try something new. I found this location on Yelp while searching for places open for lunch some where half way between our residences. And as I'm usually the one that has to find the location -- that is comes up with the restaurant suggestion -- it was up to me, once again, to choose a restaurant. As it turned out, it was a good choice. They aren't very busy during a Wednesday lunch hour so we chose our table and got drinks right away. Several of the lunch specials looked good -- including a crispy duck -- but to compare apples to apples, I ordered the chicken with cashews. I've had that dish at several places lately (Chinese and Thai). My friend ordered the beef panang curry (at my urging -- I prefer this one curry) and also because she liked the veggies in this one -- peppers and green beans. Both lunch specials came with choice of soup or salad. We both had salad. She followed my lead by ordering ginger dressing. I like the peanut style one too, but thought she'd like this one better. A small bit of iceberg lettuce with a cuke slice or two and a tomato slice and lots of carroty ginger dressing. Entrees also came with white rice and a small crispy fried spring roll. The owner told us he makes the dipping sauce himself with pineapple. He also told us all food is cooked to order and made there. My cashew chicken was a nice size portion with veggies and pieces of white meat in a light sauce. My friend's panang curry was served in a bowl with a spoon and the white rice was on the plate next to it. You could mix and match and combine as desired. She was very happy to have enjoyed her meal. Liked trying something new. And plans to come again soon. I think she'll become more adventurous now that she's had her first taste. Service was very good -- lots of water refills, etc. Plates cleared promptly and we were checked on often.
