Got the teriyaki and shrimp platter, looked great big portion unfortunately it was terrible. The chicken has a very weird texture, not chicken like at all it was very off putting, I couldn't eat it I had 2 bites and threw it out. The shrimp had no flavor. The veggies were overcooked and soggy. The rice was mushy. I also tried a dragon roll, it was fine and the reason I gave two stars instead of one. Overall I would not recommend. read more

This restaurant near the Walmart was a convenient stop when we were looking for a quickie lunch before shopping. It's basically a takeout joint, but it does have a couple tables inside. We chose to eat inside. We ordered at the counter and paid and they brought our food (in to go containers) to us. You help yourself to condiments (duck sauce, sriracha, etc.). We both ordered the combo chicken and shrimp teriyaki with white rice. It was cooked right then and there in front of us and was ready in only minutes. The portion was huge. There were about 8 medium size shrimp and a lot of chicken pieces in a light amount teriyaki sauce on top of the mound of rice. Veggies included cabbage, carrots and broccoli. I liked the shrimp better than the chicken. I also ordered an egg roll which had chicken in it. I added duck sauce and soy to both. We each took half of our food home for another meal. If you're looking for a quick Asian meal in this area of town and you're on a budget and not too fussy, this might be a place to consider. read more

Went here for the first time 6/17. Did a phone order, the girl on the phone was very nice and patient. On arrival, they were very nice and food was ready. I paid $30 for two plates and Cali roll. The jalapeño chicken was better than this one. I think it just needs a little bit of salt to bring the flavors together, but that's just preference. Teriyaki Express is located in the Lakewood Shopping Center in Margate next to the Walmart. It is part of the Sarku Japan franchise, founded in 1987. Today it has become one of the largest quick service Japanese chains in the country. They were created on the quick lunch concept that is popular in Japan. The company has stalls in mall food courts and free standing stores under the Teriyaki and Sushi Express name. This location has been open since 2016 and they still remain popular. I am not the biggest fan of the chicken thighs they use in the chicken teriyaki but members of my family love it. Double meat, rice, and vegetables runs you $10. It's a huge portion, easily enough for two people. In addition to the chicken teriyaki they are most famous for, they also have bento boxes and sushi but I've never tried them. They are operating strictly as take out now. Dining has been removed and no more free samples. The boxes lining the wall where the tables used to be looks kind of trashy. Still if you are looking for a quick, inexpensive mea, this is probably one of your more healthy options. read more

I noticed this place seemed pretty busy whenever I would pass by, so one day when I didn't feel like cooking, I decided to order takeout from them. When I called, someone answered quickly and was very pleasant. I was able to place my order easily over the phone - she repeated everything back to me to make sure it was correct and asked when I would like to pick it up. She took my name and I didn't have to pay until I went to get the food. I arrived about 10 mins after calling, and when I walked in, I was immediately greeted by everyone behind the counter, including the cook! My food was ready and neatly bagged up. They verified my name and order, took the payment and I was on my way. When I got back home and opened the containers, the food was still steaming hot! Nice big portions and pretty tasty :) I got the chicken teriyaki with noodles and my boyfriend got the chicken & shrimp fried rice. Definitely get the extra sauce - it's worth it. I will order from them again in the future because of how friendly and efficient they are - and of course because the food is good at a great price. Thank you! They make all their main dishes with teriyaki sauce and you can pick your protein such as chicken, shrimp, fish, tofu etc. The order comes with rice or noodles. The 2-3 cooks are constantly cooking when you place your order. That being said, I'm not sure why I didn't try their teriyaki entree. Instead I order shrimp tempura roll, it was just ok. Mediocre in taste and presentation since a few pieces were breaking apart. The crab rangoon side order was pretty good, they made it fresh and it was still good when I brought it back to work. Was back in town and stopped by again for lunch. Got the chicken and shrimp teriyaki with white rice and shrimp tempura. Teriyaki just as good but definitely disappointed by the shrimp tempura. No tempura sauce but they gave me another sauce. Tempura (3 for $3.99) was over battered , and tasteless- unless you count the taste of oil. They need to change the oil in the fryer. I ended up pulling off the breading and eating the shrimp. It's probably fine on a shrimp tempura sushi roll, but not just as tempura. My meal cost $10 with the up charge and a drink so that wasn't bad at all and you get your food within a few minute wait. I ordered the teriyaki chicken special which was a plate of fried rice, teriyaki chicken and vegetables. My boyfriend ordered the same but he hates vegetables so opted for double fried rice and double chicken for an extra $1.59. The food was good, just what I expected to tell you the truth. Nothing different from a standard teriyaki restaurant in the mall. They are not stingy! My plate was covered in food and my boyfriend's plate was piled high with teriyaki chicken. They've been there for 2 years and supposedly get 200 visitors per day but homeboy only got 18 reviews!!!...he was like "people don't use Yelp"...if he don't know he better ask somebody. The food was good and cheap. They also serve huge portions of the meal combos and the sushi no matter how cheap is 10 pieces per roll. Another review said best. This place is like what you would find at a mall but without the mall experience. And get on Yelp!...it can do wonders for your business. You could have 400 people per day instead of 200. read more

Best Teriyaki ever!! We have been coming here every weekend for years now. Everyone is friendly. My mother and I always get teriyaki chicken with vegetables and add on double chicken and extra sauce on the rice. My very picky 14 year old gets the white rice with teriyaki chicken extra sauce on the rice. And my husband gets the teriyaki chicken with white rice extra sauce and adds shrimp. After countless orders only one time we had any problems with the food and it wasn't that big of an issue. My son wanted extra sauce and his didn't have it. Some places the vegetable are hard and not cooked thoroughly. I've never had that problem here at all. They are always the right texture and taste very good.
