Ming Wah - Tamarac: I'd heard whispers for years about this hole-in-the-wall Peruvian-Chinese spot but always drove right past it--mostly because, let's be honest, the place looks like it hasn't seen a renovation since Nixon was in office. But curiosity finally won, and I'm glad it did. Ming Wah is pure old-school Chifa: no frills, unapologetically greasy, and weirdly charming. I ordered the fried wontons, the sopa de wantan especial, and the mixed chaufa (fried rice with pork, chicken, and shrimp). All solid. The soup especially was generous and surprisingly hearty--the small size ($8.95) could easily feed two, and the large is enough for four. The chaufa had all the right notes: smoky, just enough wok hei, and not overloaded with salt or MSG like you sometimes get at Chifa Taypa. That might actually be a plus for some folks--it's flavorful without being a sodium bomb. The fried wontons were crisp and classic. Nothing fancy, but they scratched the itch. The menu is tight for Chifa standards--hits all the usual suspects--but they've also got a full American-Chinese menu for those who want their General Tso fix. Prices are more than fair: $25 got me all three dishes, with regular-sized portions. The phone rang off the hook with takeout orders while I was there, and dine-in seems secondary. If you do eat in, leave a tip--these folks are working hard, and from what I saw, they're not seeing much appreciation from the dine-in crowd. Service was prompt and the teenage girl working the front (presumably the daughter of the owners) speaks perfect English and was very nice. read more

I highly recommend this place. I've gone in to order. I've ordered through Uber Eats and directly. I recommend going in or calling directly. Give them all of your money! They make the food quickly. Each interaction is always professional and accurate. They are all friendly and helpful. If you dine inside, it's quiet. I am so glad I found this place and they will continue to get my business as long as I can. Their dinner specials are the best deal! A good sized meal, with an egg roll and soup for under $15. I love this place!!! read more

Excellent local Chinese restaurant. I am disabled, with a rare inherited type of leukodystrophy, so I rely on food deliveries and Ming Wah has excellent food & service. In particular, I enjoy their Cantonese style dishes. Like the fact that, unlike most south Florida Chinese restaurants, they use white meat in their Orange Chicken and do not have a lot of extraneous stuff, like peas, in their fried rice. My health aide often orders from them as well & also enjoys the food. We order direct from the restaurant. Very nice people too! read more

Lo Mein is a favorite in my house. I tried the general tsos chicken for the first time. Tasted like cornstarch and had no flavor, but looks delicious and lots of broccoli! Egg rolls are tasty, and good portions for the price. read more

Used to love Ming Wahs. Just ordered the pork fried rice and Sesame chicken. The rice was terrible. The pork was not fresh and tasted old. The fried rice was undercooked and also tasted old. Honestly, we threw most of the food out because it really was nasty. Prices have understandably gone Way up, but this food was a ripoff. We we terribly disappointed read more

I take out from here at least once a week. It's a small family business that seems to do mostly take out as there's almost never anyone eating there. Food is consistent with the Chinese I'm used to in NY. Nothing fancy, just tasty hot Chinese. read more

I order takeout mostly. I'm EXTREMELY, EXTREMELYYYYY picky about my vegetables. Not even ONE TIME,, have the vegetables been anything other than very fresh and delicious. The broccoli and carrots are ALWAYS crispy and never overcooked, like all of the vegetables, in fact. The food is always just fresh and delicious!! A great place to order from!!! read more

For Chinese fried rice this is prob as close to NYC style as I've found in florida, most of the restaurants around use that yellow rice w the odd texture, Ming wah also has a peruvian menu available which is pretty delicious i wouldnt say its authentic but flavorwise its pretty good. We always get the family special and its a bang for your buck. this place isnt the best but its def tasty and a go to for me read more

It is very hard to find good Chinese food in the northwestern portion of Broward County. For years I've been using Ming Wah as a substitute. It's a family owned business. Unfortunately prices over the last four years have gone from affordable to really expensive and the quality of the food hasn't changed. Honestly, it's a typical Chinese restaurant serving mediocre Chinese-American food. Ming Wah should satisfy your cravings read more

Pretty good little spot. They have a little dining area if you want to sit and eat. I had chicken mei fun and hot tea. Both were good. Lots of veggies and chicken in the mei fun. I would return again. They were fast, clean, and friendly. read more

The Vegetable Chow Fun was excellent. I picked it up as a to-go order for lunch. I'll order it again.

The food wasn't great, didn't taste like much but what really disturbed me is how messy the place is. I am not going back.

Good and fresh every time! This is my go to place whenever I want good Chinese food. Thumbs up!

This is not exactly a place to go and sit and relax to have your meal it's more like a child's playground inside the restaurant and it's horrible on the ears. There is a young child who screams and runs all over the place he also has the volume way up high on their tablet. I'm there but don't stay. I leave as soon as I can and my nerves are a wreck. Literally shaking. a good grab-and-go restaurant the food is excellent and I love the egg foo Young. I will hesitate to return back. Maybe in a few years when the child is older and better behaved. ? read more

Back with my husband for Valentine's Day lunch! Great food and friendly service as usual.

We ordered from here on the recommendation of a friend. We had a family meal with wanton soup, honey chicken and pork lo mein as well as dumplings and Mongolian beef and everything was delicious! I have been living up here for 5 years and this is the best Chinese food I have found up here. They were extremely cautious due Covid and do not even let you inside. You have to stay outside but they were friendly on the phone and when we picked up. The price is fair and the portions are a good size. We will definitely go back! read more

3 stars for an average Chinese takeout (they have dine-in too), on par with most of the places we have tried in SoFL. The food was tasty and hot, but nothing special to write home about. Thankfully we have Yelp instead. Worth a visit if you're in the neighborhood, and we'll go back and try different dishes, but not worth traveling any real distance to get to, as your neighborhood presumably has a place that is just as good. read more

Ming Wah Chinese Restaurant/Takeout has really taken a nosedive since the pandemic has entered our lives. I can remember when any of their dishes were tastefully prepared with care and the use of fresh ingredients but that is no longer the case. I ordered their Boneless Rib Dinner Special on Friday, 7/22/22 listed online and in their takeout menu for $10.95 yet was charged $11.55 plus a 50 cent upcharge for the Hot & Sour soup. The boneless ribs had a funny taste like they had been sitting for some time and each piece was half fat and inedible and had to be thrown away. When I called the restaurant on Saturday to let them know what had transpired the woman I spoke with asked what I would like them to do? I asked for a store credit for the poorly prepared meal that was tasteless and full of fat or a replacement but she refused to stand behind what they had sold and did not care that a customer was not satisfied with their product. Extremely poor customer service and poor food preparation. There are many other Chinese takeout restaurants in the Tamarac and Coral Springs area and I will find one to replace this one that no longer takes pride in what they prepare and does not abide by the prices that they advertise. read more

very good food! jenny & her family are amazing. kind and polite. i do enjoy the food at home.

Ordered pork lo Mein combo with egg drop/wonton mix soup for delivery. Delivery was fast, courteous. Lo Mein was 2/3 brown rice, 1/3 lo Mein. Almost no pork, no sauce, totally dry, no taste at all. Was this chinese food? Same for the soup... as bland as I have ever tasted! Egg roll was hard and again with almost no taste. First and last time for this place!!! read more

Most unFlavorful general Taos chicken I've ever had. A real waste of my "cheat night "

We ordered take out for delivery and the food came quicker than any other restaurant we have ordered from. The food was absolutely delicious. My husband is very critical of his food and had rave reviews for what he had, seafood delight. We had boneless spareribs which were succulent wonton soup was good, egg roll was great and my pepper steak with onions was tender and delicious along with fried rice so good. Overall will definitely place an order again. read more

Well, I have been to this place before and the food is great and I have always enjoyed it. However, last time I ordered delivery, my food arrived with extra ingredients- bugs. Just sitting dead on top of the food I was hungrily waiting for. I called and they said they would refund me but they wanted to pick up the food... Ok, no problem! I wonder who they gave it to... Anyway, I have not ordered from them again. read more

For the money, this is a great place. Under new ownership now. The chef is good and the new owner is a nice young gentlemen who cares about the customer experience. The food is very good especially for the price. I suspect some of the other negative reviews are from prior ownership of the restaurant. It is a very good value and the food is tasty. read more

Given the fact that Ming Wah is quite literally on the other side of the world from the cuisine it's food hails from, I wasn't expecting that much when entering its doors. However, upon being greeted by the ultra friendly and personable waitress who was excited by meeting fellow chinese so far away from home, I eagerly anticipated the arrival of our food. We ordered steamed dumplings and fried rice, pretty standard dishes. I was so satisfied by the silky almost al dente texture of the dumpling skins, the slight crunch, flavor and bite of the vegetable and meat filling, in addition to the pleasantly surprising tangy and spicy accompanying plum sauce! When the fried rice arrived, It was delicious! Piping hot filled chockablock with fresh broccoli, corn, carrots, and sweet beans; each granule of rice perfectly fried and separated for maximum pleasure! A real delight and gem in the middle of this neighborhood! As someone who grew up in an Asian city traveling across China frequently, I'd recommend this place for anyone interested in trying out authentic chinese food with a real taste of home. Thank you for an excellent meal, i'll definitely be back when I'm next in the area! read more
