The food was hot and fresh! This was my first time here and we ordered online and picked it up. Our order was ready when we arrived the only things they forgot were the extra utensils and chopsticks. I had to go back for them but thankfully I hadn't left the parking lot. This is one of those family-style Chinese shops, inside dining is available but the sitting area is small with limited seating. The cashier was quick in acknowledging me when I entered and I was able to grab my food and go in less than 2 minutes. I'll be back for sure. There's free delivery for orders over $15. We love Chinese food and eat it frequently. China Star is not our favorite place, but our usual place was closed. We've had decent food from China Star in the past, so we ordered take out for dinner. We got chicken chow mein, roast pork egg foo young, and roast pork fried rice. The chicken chow mein was very salty, the egg foo young patties were small and lacking in roast pork flavor. The gravy was fair, but seemed to have a vegetable base not a meat base. The fried rice was dry (especially the peas but also the rice) and pale. It needed to have been cooked with more bean sprouts, soy sauce and sesame oil. This meal was on the whole a disappointment, and I'm not sure we'll go back even though we've had better meals there in the past. read more

I watched as patrons before me were given the wrong the wrong order. When our order was finally ready we took the bag and left. When we got home, we discovered that what we were given was not at all what we ordered, things i could not eat. When I called, I was asked to drive back for the right order. We love eating here for a Friday night. This place is located off of Commercial, next to subway in Publix parking lot. Parking is easy, but it shares the parking lot with so many stores and is off Commercial next to the entrance to the Turnpike. Traffic can be ugly! Be patient. I'll say it again-BA PATIENT. There are like 3 tables in the place, and it's basically a place you order your food to go. I've ordered delivery in the past and they were quick about that too. Tonight, I called in my family special order A, and they said it would be 10-15 min. I give it a 4 for speed, taste, cost, and variety. It's not fancy, but it's good tasting food. They are very nice too. We like getting a lunch special, because the amount of food is nearly the same and the price is very reduced. I ordered chicken fried rice as one of the items, but it was tasteless. I called the same night, but there was no answer. I also called early the next day, but still no answer. After that, due to life happening, I forgot to call again until the next time I ordered. At that time, I told them about the unsatisfactory chicken fried rice and the lady was trying to use the coupon everyone normally receives depending on how much money they spend, instead of replacing my rice. That wasn't fair and I rejected that. She said she would have to speak with her boss. Her boss refused to refund or replace the rice, claiming I didn't tell them the same night, so I never went back. In the end, it was their loss, because they lost a customer who would have continued to bring them business for years to come if they had just taken care of me. Unfortunately in my experience, asian restaurants are the least likely to make things right with their customers. They are not fair or honorable in the food service business. They routinely don't take responsibility for their mistakes. How is it that the time we notify of unsatisfactory food have anything to do with it. If it was bad the first night; it was still bad a week later. I only lost $10, but China Star lost a whole lot more than that because of their business practices. I found that I have another reason for not returning. They failed their inspection with 13 violations of unsanitary conditions. Perhaps they did me a solid by refusing to replace my rice, but they still could have refunded my money. read more

Entire meal from the curry chicken, to the pork fried rice, egg roll and wonton soup was tasty. The entree portion of the meal - curry chicken - was plentiful. Lots of Chinese vegetables as well. Fried rice was fresh and had plenty of pork. Egg roll was fresh and tasty. The wonton soup had two noodles and plenty of scallions. It was tasty as well. Take-out bag had napkins, silverware, duck sauce, and a fortune cookie. It was fresh as well. Restaurant was clean and well cared for. Plenty of staff and quick service. However on 3/26/21 after several nasty, insensitive and micro-aggressive comments from "Jason" the self identified manager". I'm never giving this vendor another dollar of my money. You refused to provide valid proof of a refund and maliciously denied us access to delivery services which we had already paid for. In the midst of a pandemic you refused to address concerns regarding CONTAMINATION a cold incorrect order that was over 2 hours late during a pandemic. Chinastar is a mile away but after ordering at 7:12p and calling twice. I still had to wait until 9:17p to be given the wrong food and berated by the "manager" who thought that: --"Clearly you're not understanding that we're busy" and to "leave it (the incorrect order) OUTSIDE for 45 minutes". My bf and I LOVE ordering from this restaurant because they are fresh and efficient. They have a convenient website to order from where I have saved my address info and I can view previous orders I have made through my account. I love how I never knew about Chinese Donuts until this restaurant and we can't order our meal with out the donuts now lol! All in all over the phone they have been nothing but polite and you can tell how busy they are with the phones ringing constantly in the background but whoever answers the phone manages their demeanor and stays respectful. I don't have to worry about a bad meal at this place! My Mongolian beef was tender and full of big veggies. The veggies were nice and tender with a little bit of a bite which were perfect. The fried rice was fluffy and tasty. The sweet and sour were perfectly cooked. There weren't those awkward hard or chewy pieces that are usually hidden by breading on the outside of the chicken. Last but not least the Shrimp shumai were so light and tasty with the zing of ginger and scallions marinating in the tangy/sweet sauce the two together are super delicious and packed full of shrimp. After attempting to go to another Chinese spot on Fourth of July and finding that they were closed (surprised! But understandable..), I ventured another ten minutes to this place. There were about 4 people waiting to get their food to go. The lady at the counter with a bob had mad multitasking skills- taking a phone order, taking a customers order that was Infront of her, greeting me and mumbling something to another employee. I studied the menu and ordered a few "small" items along with egg roll and egg drop soup. Hold the rice. As I was waiting, I noticed the phone was ringing off the hook for orders to be placed. I also noticed two regulars come in by the way they were greeted. One of them seemed to eat in all the time because at one point, an employee walked over and politely asked a customer who was waiting on their to-go order if he can move over because that's where the regular liked to sit (it seems rude but in person it was actually politely asked and the customer really appreciated the gesture and the guy waiting for his food didn't mind at all. Goes to show that they pay attention and must make good food with repeat customers. There were also two customers that didn't speak English and the lady at the register spoke it well enough to be able to communicate with them! The "small" portions are rather big and one small entree is enough for a meal. Everything was still hot when I arrived home, 10 minutes later. Egg drop soup was thick and yummy. Moo Goo Gai Pain was full of meat, veggies and good sauce. Egg roll was crispy. Generals Chicken was spicy but not overly. Def. saved this location for the next time I'm craving Chinese! read more
