I love the food!! Mixed vegetables with chicken in the brown sauce is the best I've ever had. Quick delivery. I rated 3 stars because of the poor attitude and customer service. Demetria has no phone etiquette at all. If I didn't love the quality and taste of food, I would go somewhere else but apparently she's the only one who takes phone orders. Demetria placed my call on hold for 9 minutes, never even answered the phone and said hello, took three orders from other calls while I'm still on hold, had two walk-in orders. I don't know what happened to this place. I use to order here all the time years ago. But finally decided to stop in with eager anticipation. I eventually a dinner special with chicken in garlic sauce and pork fried rice. My God, it was the worse Asian food I have ever had. The main problem was the fried rice. It was more like yellow rice with a boiled texture, nothing fried about it. It tasted like yellow rice from pollo tropical with pieces of pork thrown in. Did they change owners? Is this the rice they give for dinner specials? I would have been upset if I ordered a large or family fried rice. That is not fried rice, nowhere close. Impressive! I am particular about food and have been on a quest to find Chinese delivery worthy of spending money. We ordered the shrimp Shu mei and mu shoo beef and vegetable fried rice. They are all very delicious and well seasoned/flavorful. You should not confuse this China star with the other China star on Oakland which is what I'd done initially. Years ago I'd ordered from here and remembered enjoying it greatly but then the 2nd time I ordered from the wrong China star and could not figure out what had gone wrong. We're always looking for really good Chinese food. It has been very hard to find in our area. We found China Sky from a recommendation on a local blog. While there have been a few things that we felt could have a bit better flavor, we have been very pleased overall. Keeping in mind that we've spent time in Hong Kong and we aren't easy to please when it comes to this cuisine. The boneless sparerib appetizer is wonderful. Delectable little bites of tender pork in a sweet, tasty sauce. I sometimes order the large order as an entree. We also love the perfect pan-fried dumplings. Our other favorites, include the Mongolian beef with the savory sauce and crispy vegetable and the honey garlic chicken with the perfect honey sweet and garlicky sauce - it's hard to get enough of it. The sweet and sour chicken, K rabbit rangoon, egg rolls, shrimp fried rice and lo mein was tasty. It would have been more tasty if they would not be so word about supplying plastic utensils and plates, etc. After spending $40+ you would think this would be included. The food is always hot and fresh and is made to order. The boneless ribs seem to be the most popular item and they tend to run out of them fairly early at dinner time so plan accordingly if you intend to get this item. It's best to call in your order and you can either do take out, because there really isn't a place to eat there, or they deliver. Having done both, if you are close enough to pick up your order, that's probably best because you will get your food faster. If you're not in a super big hurry, then delivery works too!
