I have been here many times and I am never disappointed! They have lots of hot food options as well as teas and smoothies. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is fresh and portions a great size. The establishment is clean, and upbeat usually playing K-pop music. I love that they have lemon and plain water easily accessible as well. This place is always a safe choice in my book!

Taro smoothie yum!!! Can use more milk.. a bit watered diwn.

Food was generally average. However, I didn't have a bowl, they seemed fresh and because of that I rated 4 instead of 3 stars.

Really cute spot tucked away in a plaza! Stopped in with my siblings for boba tea as dessert after dinner. The staff was very kind and helpful and they have a wide range of flavors. I got my usual of a taro smoothie with crystal boba and my siblings got the thai tea and passionfruit green tea. My taro smoothie was really delicious and they had so many boba choices to choose from. However my favorite of the orders was my sisters passionfruit green tea. Next time I want to try one of their butterfly teas. They also had board games you could play while you wait and food to snack on!

Have been coming here for a few years but stopped in to grab some drinks since it was so hot outside We tried the Strawberry Shortcake milk tea and the Butterfly Lychee lemonade Both were great. The place is always clean, cute spot to grab lunch , they were friendly and quick ! Overall no complaints at all 5 Gs

House Salmon Signature Bowl sans House Sauce
    Melissa R.

The quality and the quantity of the food was very good however there were a few things that marred my experience. I ordered using the Yelp app. Pressed the big red button that said order. That was my first mistake. Yelp is partnered with Grubhub who is partnered with the restaurant. I chose take-out and ordered my meal. I ordered the House Salmon Signature Bowl. I arrived at the restaurant, about 15 mins later, the time my food was supposed to be prepared and ready for pick up. My food was not prepared, which was a good thing because I ordered brown rice and when I saw the young lady open the brown rice pot, there was very little in the pot and it looked hard. I asked if she could give me the sushi rice instead, which she did. As I'm waiting I notice that the price for the dish is $16. I had just paid $19.95 using the Order button on Yelp. So I ask the young lady who tells me that I used an app and because of that there's a surcharge. I had just driven 15 mins to pick up my own food so I didn't understand why the price difference. I asked to speak to the manager who just repeated what the young lady told me. He also said you can order from their website directly and avoid the surcharge. It was my first time patronizing the place so lesson learned and I left with my food. When I got home I found that I was not provided a sauce for the dish. On their menu, they advertise that it comes with House sauce. Fortunately I had some dark soy sauce in the fridge to top the bowl with. Without it, it was fresh and bountiful but lacking flavor throughout. Now I know, if you are picking up, go there and have them prepare your bowl in front of you.

Hawaiian tuna bowl and pork bao bun
    Joseph S.

It's been a couple years since I've had Sovereign and it's still delicious as I remember it. My go to is the Hawaiian Tuna Bowl and the Pork Bao Bun. The bowl comes with,Ahi tuna (raw), green and purple onion, cucumber, edamame, pineapple, seaweed salad, sesame seed, and crispy onion with Hawaiian Sauce and Poke Sauce (creamy, citrus, spicy, and sweet. Not too sweet, not too spicy and everything. It's so fresh. The bao bun reminds me of ones I used to get in chinatown in new york city. I've only gotten takeout and delivery but everything comes nice and neat and sustainably packed. I highly recommend this place. If you're in the area.

The food is really good and fresh. Portion size is big. There's so many veggie options and you can get avocado or various tofu options as the protein if you don't eat meat. The employees are nice and it's a cute spot. I usually always get takeout but you can order and eat there as well. Best poke spot in my opinion and I've tried quite a few.

Returned to Sovereign, this time for some boba AND a poke bowl. The boba was delicious as always (I got the mango green tea with tapioca pearls), and the poke bowl was just as good. I got sushi rice as my base and spicy tuna and Atlantic salmon as my two protein choices. Plus a bunch of toppings. The sushi rice was a great balance of soft and chewy, and the salmon and tuna were fresh. Service was friendly and quick, everyone was helpful. There is plenty of seating inside and outside, and there are some games inside even for if you get bored while your short wait for boba. Overall, a really great place for boba, poke, and good vibes.

The best boba we've tried! Absolutely delicious! We ordered online for pickup but they didn't make it until we actually got there so it took a little longer than expected but it was great nonetheless and we'll definitely be back

I end up coming here with a a friend, looking for a bubble tea, and there were so many options. The place was very organized and very clean. We got helped as soon as we walked in. The taro tea was really good and fresh , can't wait to come here again to try their food. Great for to go and to eat in !

Originally went next door to Ella's, but it was PACKED and way too loud. So we decided to do boba at Sovereign instead, and it was a much better environment! Today I tried other items off their menu, and I was pleasantly surprised!! The bao buns were just ok, but the oriental burger was super flavorful! My husband and I split the burger because we just wanted a snack, and it was enough to hold us over. I also ordered the mango passionfruit tea with peach, and it was amazing! I always do 50% sweetness here because the drinks are very sugary.

    Teriyaki Bowl
    Diamond A.

The food here is so good and fresh the teriyaki bowl is extremely filling I still had food left over the staff is very friendly here and the space was very clean I had to hurry up and go and took my food to go but had no complaints on service and food. The coconut milk tea was very rich and yummy all in all I will definitely come back here soon again because the food was delicious!

I don't know how I've never made my way out to this place before today! Wow, my poke bowl from here was amazing and the restaurant is super cute. It's order at the counter style. They have a wide variety of toppings, sauces, and poke. I got the ahi tuna and ahi salmon, both of which were super fresh tasting. They also have a little guide by the sauces indicating which have dairy, gluten, etc. which is super helpful for us customers with dietary restrictions. Also, the worker who made my bowl was super friendly, which is always appreciated. They had a long list of boba options as well, which I've gotta make my way back to try. Can't wait to come back here for my next poke fix!

The eatery was buzzing on a Saturday evening with its modernly decorated dining room constantly filling up. Seating about 80, it also sports a sushi bar. Our server, Jensen, provided great service and excellent suggestions. I had an otoro version of a margarita. It came with sugar on the rim. Not to my liking. We ordered the coconut rock shrimp appetizer that came with large, meaty shrimp and a great dipping sauce. But the shrimp had no flavor and was very bland. We also had the tuna crispy rice. The presentation was lovely. But the appetizer was underwhelming. For dinner we had the cucumber skin roll with tuna, salmon, and a avocado. Again, a beautiful presentation with tuna that melted in your mouth. But again, not impressive. The standout was the curry udon with chicken katsu; thick, meaty udon noodles; and a delectable curry sauce so good I slurped up each drop. Of course we had to try the pandan creme brulee and the ube flan. The latter being the better of the two desserts. Dinner for two with 1 alcoholic drink, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, tax, and tip was $128.

"'Total $h!t show" somehow still feels too generous…read more We came in for lunch today after seeing this place on my inKind app, genuinely excited to try something new. We were greeted promptly, which I'll give them credit for--but it felt less like hospitality and more like everyone was collectively participating in a low-energy dress rehearsal of what service might look like. We attempted to order at the kiosk, only to discover (after waiting, of course) that if you're paying with inKind, you must order with a cashier. This crucial detail is revealed only by a tiny sign on the kiosk itself--so naturally, you find out after committing to the wrong line. A simple sign at the entrance would solve this, but that would deprive future guests of the scavenger hunt experience. At the register, things really began to blossom. I mentioned using a birthday reward for free wok rice. This required a consultation with a manager, who advised entering my phone number--confidence was high, clarity was not. We proceeded. We then played a quick round of "Will we receive cups today?" (spoiler: almost no), followed by "Spot the Incorrect Charge" on the receipt. The wok rice was indeed charged. When I pointed it out, I was assured it had been deducted--despite basic math suggesting otherwise. At this point, I trusted my calculator more than the system. Next stop: the soda machine. Or rather, the soda crime scene. Drinks tasted... experimental. One nozzle was missing entirely, resulting in a surprise splash feature. It felt less like self-serve and more like a trust exercise. To her credit, the employee helping us was kind--clearly trying, but significantly undertrained. She offered a bottled drink as a solution, which I accepted as a peace treaty. Just as we sat down--hopeful, fragile, naive--the manager summoned me back to the register. I declined, citing a strong desire to finally eat food. They insisted. So back I went. Now a third employee entered the storyline, unaware of what was happening, asking me to recount the entire saga like I was submitting evidence in a trial. The manager stood nearby, contributing mainly vibes. At this point, I was informed that rewards cannot be used with inKind--information that would have been spectacularly useful before we attempted to use one, consulted a manager, and completed the transaction. The refund process itself was a masterpiece of confusion. At one point, I was asked if we had eaten the wok rice. We had not. Then someone else asked if we had eaten noodles. A different employee confidently stated that I was, in fact, currently eating it. I paused to consider whether I had entered an alternate reality. Eventually, refunds were issued. I returned to the table to eat what can only be described as a very modest $15 sushi roll. But the experience was not yet complete. An employee clearing a nearby table wiped toward us, launching food debris in our direction like a finale. At this stage, I genuinely scanned the room for hidden cameras. It felt less like dining and more like immersive theater. Throughout all of this, the manager appeared largely disengaged--occasionally present, frequently on her phone, and consistently uninvolved. Leadership was notably absent, which unfortunately explained everything else. We will not be returning. Not out of anger, but out of a deep respect for our own sanity.

Most places that have so many different items on their menu typically sacrifice the quality and taste of the food so they try to offer so many options but it's not the case here. We had gotten 6 sushi rolls, some of them with the taki and Cheeto combination and a dragon roll. The sushi was amazing and tasted so fresh. The owner told me that everything is cut and prepared fresh everyday. Their salt and pepper chicken with fried rice was crispy, juicy and the fried rice was light and flavorful. We also tried their fried shrimp lollipops which I could have had 2-3 plates of because of how good it was. Apparently they are known for their boba as well and I can see why after trying it. I had the taro flavor and i fell in love with it and I'm not even a boba guy. The calamari was very crunchy and given good portion. Everything was amazing from start to finish, the service, the restaurant was clean, the food surpassed my expectation since I wasn't expecting this hole in the wall to make such fire food. It was a jumbo tray with a full pineapple, fried rice, flavorful meat, and an appetizer. I do not recall because it's been a while. At that point, I would have given this place five stars because we had good service. But the second time around, I came with a girlfriend, and it was disappointing. Because I had a good time the first time, I thought she would like it too, and assumed all the other menu items would be up to par along with the customer service... But it was a stark difference from the last visit. We took our time perusing through the menu, which is large and had good variety, so it took us a while to finally decide. But I was perplexed why we never got the platter menu so after some time, I asked our waitress for the menu and she said "Oh whoops, I should've given that first!" That already was a red flag because if that's the first menu for us to see, in which it was the first menu I saw last time, it tells me their platters are the best sellers and the rest of the menu are mid... My friend ordered the chicken teriyaki and she wasn't pleased. I thought it's perhaps because she chose a simpler dish, but when she offered me to try it, I can see why she disliked it... The chicken was unbearably dry and lacked flavor. I got the Hong Kong noodles with beef and it wasn't bad. We shared egg rolls before our meals which were OK, but I never received my tom yum soup. The service was slow and the waitress was not attentive at all. It was a little busier with several tables filled compared to my last visit, but we saw a party of three arrive 20 minutes after us and they were able to leave before we finished our dinner, so that made us feel like we were an afterthought. So with that experience, I bring my stars down to 3 and recommend that if you do visit, the large sharable platters are the only things worth it there. As you've read in my experience, customer service is hit or miss. It looks like a trendy spot with each booth having a neon-lit quote, so I'll give it that. The platters looked very trendy and aesthetic, but the apps and meals we had from the regular menu did NOT look trendy or aesthetic at all. It seems that they only focus their creativity and energy on those three platters.
