This is our go to Chinese takeout place. We've tried a lot of different items from appetizers, to soups, to main dishes and everything is consistently good. The eggrolls are always part of every order. Perfectly cooked and made to order (not batch made sitting under a heat lamp like some places). Ask for the house spicy mustard with the eggrolls!...but use it lightly...it will clear your sinuses and take your breath away for a minute if you overdo it. Krab rangoons, house special lo mein or house special fried rice are the wife's favorites. I particularly like the steamed dumplings, Mongolian beef and the Szechuan chicken. I also like that they will actually kick it up some when I ask for "extra spicy". The staff is always very pleasant and very fast either when I stop in to order or we call in a delivery. Definitely worth a try if you're in the mood for Chinese takeout. read more

So, I am writing this review after trying food twice from this place. It is a pretty standard, simple designed Chinese restaurant. Not much happening in the interior but well we care about food and cleanliness. Usually, people order to go, the menu is big, affordable and quantity is generous. Affordable and generous quantity is hard to find at any restaurant these days. However, they really need to work on their flavors. No taste at all and it is super oily. Please figure out to enhance flavors and I think you guys can be hit in this area. But for now we won't be coming. May be after few months we will try again. read more

I tried out this Chinese spot because I'm new to the area and looking for some local places when I don't feel like cooking. I ordered the special fried rice and honey chicken wings. The special fried rice was good. I wouldn't call it a special because I don't think it was enough meat or shrimp in the rice. The honey chicken wings were pretty good they don't come with the honey already on it. You have to pour the honey on yourself which I don't prefer however, the wings were a great size and the flavor was there. When I walked in I was greeted and the guy at the cashier was nice and helpful in deciding what to buy, overall he's an experience. I'll probably be back. read more

Not a sit-in restaurant just so you know! I used to order there at least 2 - 3 times per month. Food tasty, will prepare as per your requirements....... BUT I complained a day after a delivery a month or so ago. Found a hair (not mine) in my left-overs. I took the hair which was black, short and straight back to the store in a handkerchief, as I had thrown out the food and asked that the manager call me back. He did, but said I should have called the night before. I did not find it until the next day and was totally skeeved out. Of course they have the evidence so nothing I can do now. China Star is my local Chinese restaurant. I have been ordering mostly delivery, a few times take out, from them for years and years. I believe the name has changed once or twice and certainly the menu. China Star used to offer sushi, they no longer do. Included on their menu are a few Thai dishes. I recently went in and ordered takeout. They have pictures of specialty dishes on the wall and the food is now better than before. New chef perhaps. The Singapore Noodles (the dish looked good from the picture) and fried Chicken Wings with fried rice (for the days when I am craving fried foods) are the two items I recently ordered for take out. I tried salting it but it didn't boost the flavor. I ordered a quart; that quart got thrown out. The egg rolls seemed fresh and crispy, but once again they lacked flavor. Next I ordered the Chicken Chow Fun...it not only lacked flavor ( not even soy sauce helped it) but lacked a nice variety of vegetables. I think I had 3 pieces of carrot, some celery, and some other Asian veggie, plus a lot of mushrooms. But, I specifically said "no mushrooms." It had plenty of tender white meat chicken. The crispy noodles, which I could eat by the hand full, were soggy. I revived them in my microwave. I asked for brown rice, which is $1.00 extra and it was fine. First time ordering from them. The wonton soup has a really nice broth, not oily like others I have had in the past. It seemed fresh which I liked. The only krab rangoons I've ever had were from Panda Express, so they were a lot different from the ones at China Star, but I'm assuming they were made more traditional than Panda. They were good, but a little bit too creamy for me... almost a bit watery. Would've liked to see more krab. The outside was very crisp and crunchy though. The general tso chicken was wonderful!!! I will definitely order it again. I wish they gave more broccoli with the order, it was delicious. You know it's a true Chinese restaurant when you have a piece of shrimp with every bite. The food was fresh and tasty. I had the orange chicken, hot and sour soup, and crab rangoons. The orange chicken batter was crunchy, how it should be. I've tasted chicken from other Chinese establishments and it would be chewy. The stuffing inside the crab rangoons were flavorful and jam packed. The hot and sour soup tasted up to par. My husband ordered young chow fried rice and general tsao shrimp; both were delectable. My other favorite is the general tsao chicken, I order it extra spicy but it's not spicy at all lol. The pork fried rice is very tasty. The service was quick; we ordered takeout on Christmas eve and it only took them 20 minutes. The location is very convenient as it's in the Publix plaza. If you order for delivery, the wait time is usually 45 minutes. The food is still fresh and hot when it arrives. This will definitely be my local go to Chinese spot going forward. I love Chinese food. I love Chinese food chicken wings. With that said, these wings have absolutely 0 flavor. They need to do something about their chicken wings. They don't even taste like chicken. Step up your wing game guys. The other food is barely ok. There is just no flavor. You pay good money for Chinese food and it comes to you bland and flavorless. I'm really upset I spent money here. My go to place for Chinese at work. The chicken is cooked perfectly, the soft and not chewy like most Chinese places. They also give you so much food it ends up being my lunch for 2 days. Always order from this place for the last 3 years always making sure to tip the drivers good, today I ordered my usual combination plate and had it delivered on time. A few minutes later when I started to unpack my meal noticed that my food was missing white rice which I had ordered, I called and explain that the order was missing the white rice and to please send the delivery guy back with the missing item. They said NO we don't believe you we don't make mistakes, I said well I have not touch my food and they said there's nothing they can do. I said no problem I will drive over to the restaurant and bring what you guys delivered and if I'm lying you will be loosing a customer, they said pretty much wherever.
