Kao Soy

Hands down the best Kao Soy soup in Broward! Service is fast and friendly, ambiance is chill, 10/10 recommend to anyone in the mood for tasty Thai and sushi.

Four Friends Roll
Brittany G.

One of the best sushi experiences I've had in a while! The Four Friends roll was incredibly fresh and flavorful. I also had a side salad, which was delicious as well. My only minor suggestion would be to offer tamari as a gluten-free alternative to soy sauce, but otherwise everything was fantastic. Everyone in my group loved their rolls, and we'll absolutely be coming back!

I want to abide by my regular stance of "I won't give you 5 stars as my first review." But... Chim has earned it. The ridiculously delicious sushi & Thai dishes here is somw of the best food I have had in this genre. Service is solid and ambiance is casual and a little trendy.

Pad see ew

Nice spot out by sawgrass mall. Spacious with a fairly nice interior and the food is good and well priced. I had a pad see ew and really enjoyed how they prepared it. Portion was good, especially given the fair pricing. I left very satisfied with this meal and the people were nice. Good place for a bite after you're hangry from shipping all day!

Ordered some take out per usual and it was delicious. You can not go wrong with this place. The food is always ready by the time they say and the service is always great. It's a cute place to go in for a casual dinner. I might try dine in next time and see how it goes. I ordered a chicken pad Thai and spicy garlic edamame.. 10/10 for both!

Tuna tataki
Debbi N.

Cute, quiet and cozy and fresh tasty food. Been driving past this spot and curious what this place was all about. Nestled between Starbucks and a little ice cream place. We ordered a tuna tataki appetizer and a few dishes. I had the pad Thai and my partner had the stir fry. Everything was fresh and nice portions. Great service. Lots of choices to try next time.

Chicken teriyaki

Excellent service. Ceviche appetizer is a must! Well made and delicious! Crispy Rice sushi was crispy and tasty. Duck dish on the menu is phenomenal. Chicken Soup is good enough for two or three. Very good. Didn't try any sushi but based on the quality of fish in the ceviche I'm sure it's also good n

Had dinner last night at one of my favorite Thai restaurants called Chim Authentic Thai and Sushi. It is located in Plantation, Florida. My favorite dish that I get every time is the Kao Na Kra-Pow with extra Crispy Pork (medium hot). It taste delicious . The chili garlic sauce and basil leaves give it a savory and sweet flavor. The service is always great and the wait staff is always nice, friendly and attentive. I love coming here for a nice relaxing dinner. I highly recommend Chim's if your looking for an amazing local Thai and Sushi restaurant in the Fort Lauderdale area.

Consistently tasty food every time I'm here. One of my favorite lunch spots where I usually get B1 or B2. I can depend on a friendly and efficient service whenever I'm here. Allows me to find time for it during my work break. The ambiance won't wow you with its standard oriental decor. But it's clean and neat and that's all I ever ask

I finally made my way to this great neighborhood Thai and Sushi restaurant. We met friends for dinner here who have been telling us it's one of their new faves. The staff was super friendly and full of smiles. When I took my video they even arranged the food for the best angle, smiled and waved, lol. I tried a little of everything and it was all fresh and delicious. The prices were reasonable too. I did take off one star because my Pad Thai came out after everyone else had basically eaten. That being said, it was plentiful (enough to share) and super delicious. Our waitress Katie was very sweet and apologetic advising they were backed up in the kitchen. All in all, we enjoyed and will definitely be back for more.

Salmon Cali roll with torched salmon on top - super fresh & creamy without tons of sauces - a winner

You have no idea what you are missing out on. The atmosphere along with dining experience is perfect every time we visit here. I recommend ordering whatever you are craving and you won't be disappointed. Today, we ordered the Otoro spoons, sushi moriwase, chef special appetizers, chicken pad Thai, grilled octopus, toro sashimi, scallop sashimi, sweet shrimp nigiri, and ube flan for dessert. The quality of the fish was fresh as usual, and the customer service was on point. Thank you so much Ha, for serving us, and we will definitely be back for some more sushi in the near future. Yes, I would recommend this place to other sushi lovers as well as customers who enjoy kitchen food because they aren't yet accustomed to eating raw fish. The eatery was buzzing on a Saturday evening with its modernly decorated dining room constantly filling up. Seating about 80, it also sports a sushi bar. Our server, Jensen, provided great service and excellent suggestions. I had an otoro version of a margarita. It came with sugar on the rim. Not to my liking. We ordered the coconut rock shrimp appetizer that came with large, meaty shrimp and a great dipping sauce. But the shrimp had no flavor and was very bland. We also had the tuna crispy rice. The presentation was lovely. But the appetizer was underwhelming. For dinner we had the cucumber skin roll with tuna, salmon, and a avocado. Again, a beautiful presentation with tuna that melted in your mouth. But again, not impressive. The standout was the curry udon with chicken katsu; thick, meaty udon noodles; and a delectable curry sauce so good I slurped up each drop. Of course we had to try the pandan creme brulee and the ube flan. The latter being the better of the two desserts. Dinner for two with 1 alcoholic drink, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, tax, and tip was $128.

It was a jumbo tray with a full pineapple, fried rice, flavorful meat, and an appetizer. I do not recall because it's been a while. At that point, I would have given this place five stars because we had good service. But the second time around, I came with a girlfriend, and it was disappointing. Because I had a good time the first time, I thought she would like it too, and assumed all the other menu items would be up to par along with the customer service... But it was a stark difference from the last visit. We took our time perusing through the menu, which is large and had good variety, so it took us a while to finally decide. But I was perplexed why we never got the platter menu so after some time, I asked our waitress for the menu and she said "Oh whoops, I should've given that first!" That already was a red flag because if that's the first menu for us to see, in which it was the first menu I saw last time, it tells me their platters are the best sellers and the rest of the menu are mid... My friend ordered the chicken teriyaki and she wasn't pleased. I thought it's perhaps because she chose a simpler dish, but when she offered me to try it, I can see why she disliked it... The chicken was unbearably dry and lacked flavor. I got the Hong Kong noodles with beef and it wasn't bad. We shared egg rolls before our meals which were OK, but I never received my tom yum soup. The service was slow and the waitress was not attentive at all. It was a little busier with several tables filled compared to my last visit, but we saw a party of three arrive 20 minutes after us and they were able to leave before we finished our dinner, so that made us feel like we were an afterthought. So with that experience, I bring my stars down to 3 and recommend that if you do visit, the large sharable platters are the only things worth it there. As you've read in my experience, customer service is hit or miss. It looks like a trendy spot with each booth having a neon-lit quote, so I'll give it that. The platters looked very trendy and aesthetic, but the apps and meals we had from the regular menu did NOT look trendy or aesthetic at all. It seems that they only focus their creativity and energy on those three platters.

These were full portions, and too big for us in one sitting. I ordered medium, which tasted pretty mild in restaurant, but my leftovers the next day were spicy (and so delicious)! So if you're the type of person to bring half your meal home, I highly recommend you order one level down from your normal tolerance. The second time I went for lunch, and got the red curry. The menu said it came with miso soup or salad, and I asked for miso soup but the woman gestured up to the small salad bar. Turns out, that day was chicken soup, and I'm pretty happy about it because I don't think I would have ever thought to order chicken soup from a Thai restaurant. I had two bowls, and I would have gotten more if I wasn't trying to leave room for my entree. It didn't work out anyway; even the lunch portion was huge, so half came home. Unbelievable deal, I think with tax and tip (I think I tipped $4?) my total was still only $16 and change. The service is phenomenal, the restaurant is clean, and they have won my heart. I'll be back!

Definitely a vibe for a casual lunch or date. Unfortunately, the service was very slow despite it not being busy. We were told there was only one sushi chef working, which explained the delay, but it still affected the overall experience. The food itself was good the sushi rolls were flavorful and the sauces paired really well. My drink was also on point. The deviled eggs, though, were underwhelming not seasoned and just didn't hit for me. I ended up adding eel sauce, which actually made them much better... honestly something they might want to consider. Overall, decent food and a really cute atmosphere, but the slow service brings it down for me. Not writing it off completely, but for now it's a 3-star experience.

Marumi Sushi has a wide variety of menu to choose from sushi to cooked food from the kitchen. We ordered different appetizers, small portioned food, some ramen and seafood & veggies hotpot. They literally have everything on the menu even the ones I didn't know I was craving for until I saw them on the menu. My girlfriend loves uni (sea urchin) so we ordered two pieces (1 pc per order) at a reasonable price. It was good for the price of ($14.50 may change due to market fluctuation). It wasn't Japanese uni, it looked and tasted like the ones from California. Nonetheless, it was good, especially with uni being scarce temporarily. We also tried their grilled shishito peppers (nice mini app to snack on), fried tofu with chicken sauce (very hot inside so be careful, but it was tasty and light enough to enjoy other dishes), spicy salmon roll wrapped in soy paper (very simply roll and tasty, you don't get tired of it after eating couple pieces), nato beans and rice with Ikura and quail eggs (tasted little blend but couldn't complain for the portion and quality), seafood hotpot (will satiate your hotpot craving until next time, and Michelle ramen (which was mediocre at best). I got the impression that the place is neat and well kept. I will definitely be going back for the second and third time. There are plenty of free parking spaces in the plaza.
