    Salmon Sushi

I stopped into Sushi Raku for a workday lunch. The restaurant, located in a strip of stores on Commercial Blvd, is small and clean. I ordered at the counter, and my sushi was made and brought to my table in no time. The prices are fair, the fish tasted great, and it came out so quick! Perfect for getting in and out and back to work. I'll definitely be back to Sushi Raku.

Ordered out from here the other night. The sushi was quite affordable. The people I was with appreciated that nothing tasted too fishy. I had the ocean breeze roll and I found it was quite filling. Overall, it was a great experience. This is a very simple sushi place and it was exactly what I was expecting.

Stopped in for take out last night. Was greeted by the friendly staff upon entering. The place is small, however they do have a few tables for dining in. My order was quickly taken and I enjoyed a Japanese beer while I waited. I ordered two sushi rolls (tuna and a salmon lover rolls) and the tako yaki (octopus pancake ball) appetizer. My order was made quick and packaged well. I ordered about 40 mins prior to closing and when my order was brought to me I was told to take my time finishing my beer, which was nice to not be rushed out of there. The place was busy with take out orders and one lady came in and said she came all the way from Homestead (a very far drive) for her order. So the food must be good right? When I left, about 4 staff members wished me goodbye. Upon getting home and opening the take out bag I found the tako yaki container tightly wrapped in plastic wrap. They were still very hot after a 15 min drive home. They were very good and different. A very soft texture with pieces of diced octopus inside. They had a tangy sauce poured over the top with a spicy mayo drizzle. I never had these before and was very happy with how they tasted. The sushi rolls were very good as well. Large pieces of tuna and salmon with very fresh and large pieces of avocado. My only complaint, a small one, was that they could have given a larger size portion of the wasabi. The sushi seems to be of high quality and the roll sizes were large. Will definitely be getting more sushi from here in the near future.

This was a different type of sushi place. Quite small and no ambiance -- with only a half dozen tables inside, where you order at the counter -- and they bring your food to you. There is a menu on the wall plus a few specials on a board. There's also the printed and takeout menus. Food is brought to you in take out clear plastic containers and you're given chopsticks and a plastic fork. We both had their house salad to start with ginger dressing. It was a lot of crisp cold iceberg lettuce, a couple grape tomatoes, shredded carrots, and cucumber slices. The salad dressing comes in a small plastic container. After that, my husband had four pieces of individual sushi -- salmon and Saba -- two pieces each. There was pickled ginger and wasabi on the side. I had two rolls -- a shrimp tempura roll and their spider roll (with softshell crab and avocado). Both rolls were very good -- and very reasonably priced. The spider roll consisted of 5 large pieces. And the tempura roll had 8 smaller pieces. I was happy to share some of my rolls. Service was pleasant. There was one minor glitch for which they apologized and offered to replace one of the items. But overall, the food was good enough to outweigh anything. We'd definitely and happily return here again, if in the area.. There were a lot of folks dining in while we were there -- and more people doing takeout orders.

A great find for sushi! The menu is extensive, the staff is welcoming and the food is great. Everything is served on styrofoam plates with plastic silverware. I highly recommend the $25 Omakase deal. The toro was just okay, but the rest of the fish was great. The scallops were delicious as well. I will definitely be back.

My first time ordering last week and I loved it! I ordered for pick up and everything looked so fresh! I really appreciate the value price, everything total around $40. I thought the spicy beef miso was a great deal $6 or so. The restaurant is small and narrow, seating is limited which seems intentional. The was service was great, everything was in the bag, and they are welcoming. I am so excited to order from them today for dinner I really loved the food!

Having dined here once before and left underwhelmed, I returned hoping time had brought improvement. Instead, the experience reaffirmed the same concerns. Service set the tone early. Our server greeted us with an air of impatience that never quite lifted, creating an atmosphere that felt more transactional than hospitable. My partner and I each ordered a roll; I selected the Red Dragon Roll, a dish that should balance heat with flavor. What arrived, however, leaned heavily toward aggression rather than nuance. The roll was dominated by thick, unrefined slices of jalapeño -- not the thin, aromatic heat one expects, but large pieces that overwhelmed every other component. The result was a dish whose spice level felt less intentional and more careless. As I removed several slices in an attempt to salvage the roll, our server checked in. When I explained the issue, his response was a brief "okay" before he walked away, offering no alternative, adjustment, or acknowledgment of the concern. Despite the lackluster experience, I concluded the meal, tipped appropriately, and left. Unfortunately, the combination of inattentive service and imbalanced execution makes it difficult to recommend a return visit. In a market where sushi restaurants strive for harmony and hospitality, this establishment continues to fall short on both fronts.

My usual in the beginning was the seafood soft tofu soup, but since have added to our rotation: rose tteokboki (a must share), yaki spicy stir-fried ramen (basically if you want the yummy spicy rose sauce but sub the tteokboki with ramen noodles), Japanese curry cutlet (katsu), Korean fried chicken, bulgogi fried rice, pork belly, and galbi. We've tried a few others on the menu, but these are what we highly recommend to our friends. Even our little ones love it here! When we order drinks, they all have been good and they definitely don't skimp on the alcohol in their cocktails. My husband prefers drinking beer and usually will go for the Tsingtao or Sapporo. Don't ask us about the dessert though because by the end of our meal, we're usually stuffed! It's a layered, fruity cocktail that's a little more complex. Personally, I prefer the Pisco Sour it's cleaner and more balanced for my taste.
