First visit here. Very nice owners, took the time to explain the menu and tell us their specials. Clean restaurant. I got pretty basic sushi so I wasn't expecting anything out of this world. It was definitely solid. It reminded me of being in Japan going to a random little restaurant to get food. The gyoza was served on paper plates. No frills here but not needed. Everything was fresh. I wasn't a huge fan of the chicken teriyaki quality, just felt a little cheap but that might just be my opinion. The flavor of the sauce was very good and mixed with the cream cheese in the roll, a very tasty combination. This sushi place was very popular. As we were there, there were several people people who walked in to pickup their food and go. My first reaction was that it was not a fancy place and the prices seemed high for just a simple restaurant with styrofoam plates and bowls. Maybe I'm cheap, but that's just me being honest. Our food came out quickly and the quality was pretty good. Not the best sushi and ramen I've had, but not anything to complain about either. I would say it was alright. Stopped in for take out last night. Was greeted by the friendly staff upon entering. The place is small, however they do have a few tables for dining in. My order was quickly taken and I enjoyed a Japanese beer while I waited. I ordered two sushi rolls (tuna and a salmon lover rolls) and the tako yaki (octopus pancake ball) appetizer. My order was made quick and packaged well. I ordered about 40 mins prior to closing and when my order was brought to me I was told to take my time finishing my beer, which was nice to not be rushed out of there. The place was busy with take out orders and one lady came in and said she came all the way from Homestead (a very far drive) for her order. So the food must be good right? When I left, about 4 staff members wished me goodbye. Upon getting home and opening the take out bag I found the tako yaki container tightly wrapped in plastic wrap. They were still very hot after a 15 min drive home. They were very good and different. A very soft texture with pieces of diced octopus inside. They had a tangy sauce poured over the top with a spicy mayo drizzle. I never had these before and was very happy with how they tasted. The sushi rolls were very good as well. Large pieces of tuna and salmon with very fresh and large pieces of avocado. My only complaint, a small one, was that they could have given a larger size portion of the wasabi. The sushi seems to be of high quality and the roll sizes were large. Will definitely be getting more sushi from here in the near future. read more

It took me awhile to find a decent sushi spot near where I live and I was able to find this one going to church one Sunday with my boyfriend. The staff are always so kind and sweet every time we go. Their sushi is honestly super fresh and delicious! I always get the JB roll or tuna California roll. I tried their shrimp tempura recently and it was pretty good too. They are super fast with to go orders when calling ahead while on the road. I'm definitely looking forward to grabbing another roll from here soon! read more

I have no idea how this place stays open or how it gets any good reviews. It honestly makes me think the reviews are paid for, or maybe they give customers free drinks or discounts in exchange for high ratings. There's no other explanation. We spent 195 dollars and everything was awful. The karaage tasted like deep-fried skin cooked in old oil that probably hasn't been changed in years. The chicken meatballs, which should be yakitori style, tasted like boiled chicken fat rolled into a ball and drowned in an overly sweet sauce. The sushi was even worse. The rice was hard and dry instead of soft and seasoned the way sushi rice should be. The tuna and salmon were fishy and stale, and the texture of the fish felt like plastic -- almost like imitation fish. Everything tasted old, cheap, and completely inedible. We also ordered the dumplings, which were clearly frozen, not made in-house. They tasted exactly like supermarket dumplings that were microwaved. You could buy a bag of frozen dumplings from any grocery store, heat them yourself, and they would taste better than what this restaurant served. I've eaten sushi all over the country -- California, New York, and many other states -- and I have never had anything this bad. If someone from Japan were served this, they'd be embarrassed. Don't waste your time or your money here. Even the refrigerated sushi section at a random supermarket would be a better choice. read more

This was a different type of sushi place. Quite small and no ambiance -- with only a half dozen tables inside, where you order at the counter -- and they bring your food to you. There is a menu on the wall plus a few specials on a board. There's also the printed and takeout menus. Food is brought to you in take out clear plastic containers and you're given chopsticks and a plastic fork. We both had their house salad to start with ginger dressing. It was a lot of crisp cold iceberg lettuce, a couple grape tomatoes, shredded carrots, and cucumber slices. The salad dressing comes in a small plastic container. After that, my husband had four pieces of individual sushi -- salmon and Saba -- two pieces each. There was pickled ginger and wasabi on the side. I had two rolls -- a shrimp tempura roll and their spider roll (with softshell crab and avocado). Both rolls were very good -- and very reasonably priced. The spider roll consisted of 5 large pieces. And the tempura roll had 8 smaller pieces. I was happy to share some of my rolls. Service was pleasant. There was one minor glitch for which they apologized and offered to replace one of the items. But overall, the food was good enough to outweigh anything. We'd definitely and happily return here again, if in the area.. When you have a hankering for a simple and delicious spicy tuna roll, Sushi Raku hits the mark. This is a no frills, busy, Japanese take-out restaurant with very limited dine-in space. I've only tried their poke bowls, spicy tuna rolls and takoyaki. The tuna and salmon poke bowls are yummy and come topped with avocado, edamame, red onion and mango over sushi rice or brown rice (special request). They don't skimp on the fish! I'd pass on the takoyaki next time. The sauce and presentation was nice but there was too much batter to octupus ratio. I will stick with their sushi and bowls. Was my second favorite Tuna: I'm not a fan of tuna. It wasn't fatty. Was okay Tonkotsu: Like other reviewers stated, very salty. It reminds me of an expensive cup of noodle. Broth flavor was okay. Wish there were more noodles or meat. If I am paying for half of a normal priced bowl of $10, I expect half the size as well. Should be priced at $4. Unagidon: Thin slices of unagi. For $10 I expected more. Could have used a smaller box for how much it came with. The flavor was great. But again, if I am paying half the price for a normal sized bowl, I expect more. Should be priced at $8 Overall, I liked this place. It reminded me of the quick places to stop at in Japan for a quick meal. I went about 6 months ago and never left a review even though I wanted to then because I didn't have time but I have to say I will never go back there again. The food was poor quality and I asked for eel sauce, spicy mayo, and Sriracha on the side. I asked several times to put in the bag. The young man that helped me assured me that he would do it, but then an older woman came over, barked at him and took over the order. She was incredibly rude and unprofessional in front of me. Unfortunately, the sauces were not included in the package when I got home and I was starving so I just ate what was there and the food was beyond mediocre. People were only going in for pick up orders. We ordered 3 rolls and sashimi. We ordered the Uncle Sam, Spicy Tuna, and Fire Mango. Our favorite roll was the Fire Mango. It was really good. The cucumber in it was cut a little big, but overall it was a good mix of flavors. Uncle Sam roll was decent, the cream cheese was overpowering- so maybe ask for light on the cream cheese. Good food at a great price. What's not to like? I didn't even know this place was here two days ago. I finished up a class nearby and was driving to get a bite at another restaurant in the same plaza when I saw "Sushi" and had to investigate. They post their menu on the front (good move) and the prices are very reasonable. I saw they had a California Roll, which I like, and I was ready to go in when I saw, "Spicy California Roll" and my eyes lit up. This is like what I like multiplied by what else I like. The people working there are very friendly so I felt good about my choice. When I placed my order, she looked at me a little funny. People who are not originally from America often look at me funny when I order anything hot and spicy. They figure someone as white as me couldn't possibly handle it, and they try to be helpful. She asked if I wanted the spicy on the side. I told her, no put it inside. Little does she know, I eat wasabi right off the chopstick. I ordered a can of Coke ($1.00, where do you find that?) and sat down. The roll came out rather quickly and it was delicious! I will definitely be going back soon to try some more options. True National Sushi Day was 2 days ago......but I felt like celebrating today. I searched for nearby sushi restaurants and Sushi Raku came up. I noticed the location is really close to me. I went online and took a look at the menu. After a while and going back and forth (not wanting to order everything on the menu is more like it!), I decided to try the Karaage (Japanese boneless fried chicken with white sauce). I love fried chicken and with white sauce, hmmmm. I also ordered one of my favorites, shrimp tempura roll. There were people sitting at the 3 tables inside. I did not pay attention if they were actually dining in or just waiting for their orders. I went up to the counter and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I saw plenty of orders waiting to be picked up. They must be doing very well and no surprise, they are one of the very few sushi places around. After reading the reviews on here, I would say that I am correct. How is the food? I am enjoying my friend chicken (well its not southern fried ) but its good and I do not see any white sauce :( I did order spicy mayo sauce for $.25 and they gave me 2 of them also with 2 tiny containers of soy sauce.
