First time here! Not your flashy, pay for the vibe restaurant..... but a homey, comfortable restaurant that has been there over 30 years. (I asked). I ordered food to go, mostly out of respect that they were closing in 20 minutes. I ordered typical pad thai with fried tofu. It was delicious Had it for dinner and breakfast this morning. The tofu was absolutely perfect. The sauce seasoned just right, loved the green onions, egg and bean sprouts in the dish, not on top. Bought green curry with chicken for today.... And wow, literally more veg than 'soup' as is the usual it seems cabbage, carrots, broccoli peppers.... Super good. Will definitely return fir dine in with husband. Cute Mom n Pop Thai spot in Davie. We got the curry puffs and a vegetable fried rice. We ordered at a busy Sunday dinner time, so our meal took a little bit longer, but it was hot and yum. I have been coming here since 2013. The food is still delish! You get soup and a spring roll with lunch. (I adore those tiny, crunchy spring rolls.) Salad is no longer a serve-yourself option but it also still accompanies the meal. The soy sauce noodles with steamed tofu and with one star (just a touch of spice to go with the sweet) is my absolute favorite meal here. My family members and friends love the pad thai and the cashew options. But you can't go wrong with any dish. I love spicy food and often like it when there are tears in my eyes and I'm sniffling. A three-star meal here does that to me. So take heed! They changed the yucky carpeting since the last time I dined inside the restaurant. (I usually do takeout.) This place is now one of my go to spots! The staff is always so wonderful. I usually come during the lunch specials from 11:30-2:30pm Monday- Friday only. My go to order is a chicken pad Thai with no bean spouts and no spice. And it's only $8! Lunch specials come with a soup and salad :) they also give you a little egg roll with a sweet sauce. What I like about this place compared to other Thai places is that the sauce for the pad Thai is ALWAYS consistent and I never get tired of the texture. I believe that consistency is key and this place never disappoints. My other go to option is the chicken fried rice! It's so yummy and everything here is fulfilling. Bathrooms are also clean and the restaurant is very home like! The prices are inexpensive and the staff always checks up on you! Everything is always so delightful when I come here. Bangkok the capital of Thailand, so it gotta be amazing from what I understand! First off, the ambience is quiet. I think yelpers got that spot on. It was a homey feel. A tricky place to find as it is tucked in. People have even mistaken it for "BC cafe" in the same plaza since it's in the acronym LOL. A true hole in the wall. I never even knew this place existed from the bestrew additions of Thai restaurants. I came here for dinner and feasted on a chicken pad Thai medium spice. Scrumptious but something tasted odd. Can't really make out what it was but it was still overall good. The portions were ginormous. Best served with a squeeze of lime/lemon! Complimentary chips to start. Service was great. Wow it's been many years since I've been here . I had a salad that was mainly iceberg and the soup was mushroom tofu really lacked in flavour. I discovered this place via a temp job I had nearby in 2002. Staff there at the temp job would order for pickup once to twice a week. They would order about twenty lunch combos. That's how my fascination with Thai food started. The food is awesome. Prices have always been very reasonable. Customer service is great. You can customize your dish with endless options. First pick your protein then your sauce followed by the amount of heat you prefer. One star (no heat) to Five star (native Thai). Be careful picking your heat level because 2-3 star is rather hot. I was a local patron until 2017 when I moved 2 hours away. I always picked my orders up back then. I would order 1-2 times a weekly. I only sat down in dining room for the 1st time last year. Amazing hole-in-the-wall family business!! I came here for the first time with my boyfriend and we had a great experience from the moment we entered to the moment we left. Our server, Atiya, was so kind and helped me choose the right meal for me since I'm very picky. The chicken pad Thai was delicious, and you get so much for your serving that I had to take half of it to go for lunch the next day. The fried ice cream was so good, and the raspberry purée was super fresh. You can tell that this family business means a lot to the owners as they are proud to share their Thai culture with the community. The staff, food, and sanitation was spot on. I happened to stumble across this restaurant as I was headed to my nail appointment a few doors down. Are we got there in time for lunch and because of Covid regulations they were only doing takeout which is fine with me. I looked through the menu and decided to do one of the lunch specials, shrimp with veggies and fried rice it also came with a spring roll. The spring roll was not edible I took a bite and ended up having to throw the rest away. The meal itself had flavor but I was disappointed to only see that there was four shrimp. The restaurant is located in a business plaza slightly offset from the main road. If you aren't careful you can miss it. This is what excited me about trying this place out. More often, it is the hidden gems that give you quality service and provide excellent food. I wish that were the case here. I ordered the panang curry medium heat with shrimp. At first glance the plate presentation was very nice. However...when I took a closer look I noticed a VERY WATERY panang sauce! FAIL! I tasted it. The flavor was there and the heat was right at medium. I probably could've handled one level higher but since the server stated that their levels ran pretty hot there, I proceeded with caution. I also did not care for the choice of mixed vegetables. Heavy celery and lettuce. Not a lot of bell peppers and no bamboo shoots. Apparently you are given a choice at order to have banco shoots only or mixed vegetables only. Who does that?! Fail! I wish I could have experienced the dish at its best. It has potential but missed the mark. My friend ordered the red curry chicken. Different dish, same WATERY story. I won't go into details. Just know she picked at it. I doubt we come back. There are too many much better Thai places in my area than to waste my time here. :-( read more

Fantastic authentic Thai cuisine. I spent a year in Thailand in the Air Force and love Thai food. Bangkok Cafe is not a Thai food factory, but a fine restaurant with carefully prepared and authentic Thai food! I had the Basil and peppers with beef (Thai Hot) scorchinghly delicious! My wife had the Phad Thai noodles with chicken medium hot. We had a side of chicken fried rice, couldn't eat everything and took it home for tomorrow. I would gladly give more than 5 stars! read more

While I am no connoisseur of Thai, I know a good value when I see one; Bangkok Cafe is good value. This little place is located in a strip mall next to my doctor's office, so I stopped in for a bite after being seen. When you walk in, you immediately realize it is nothing fancy. It is not all decked out like a large chain. The appreciation comes in the fact that it is a small business, run on a small budget, with an authentic menu. I was here for lunch, and the lunch special is not only pleasing to the palette, but great value as well. I think I paid about $7 for a bowl of soup, a salad bar, and then the main course. I went with the cashew chicken. As with most Thai places, you can pick how spicy you want it to be. I am not sure about alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks because I had water with my lunch. The staff was very attentive while I was there because there were only a few tables being used. I've read other reviews talking about how service was lacking, but I did not experience that. If you want to pay less than Wendy's, get more food at a much higher quality, and try something new for a change, I would definitely say Bangkok Cafe is your jam. What is the capital of Thailand? We ordered the massaman curry and some noodles we tried to fix up to make pad ke mao and sorry but it was a FAIL. The massaman curry had a very tangy and overly sweet dish. I mean, I've never had a dish that gave me a sugar rush, until today. Wow, talk about it and the smell was a bit strange too. Maybe due to the amount of fish sauce? Not sure but I couldn't figure it out. I simply did not enjoy it. The carrots were big soft chunks and more onions than anything... The other dish basically was sauce less so I can't quite say much else. It was plain. Service is fine but the food will not bring me back. read more

8/26/2016 - Dinner Review Walking in we hear a lady complaining to the server that there was not enough chicken in her Pad Thai dish. She is scooping up the noodles and showing the waitress. She says "it's ok, I'm just saying." Saying? more like yelling enough for the patrons of the restaurant to hear. I'm already worried. The young lady sat us on the other side of the restaurant. It is darker than most restaurants, the decor is "cheesy". The waitress came right away and got our drink order...waters. We looked over the menu and I gave full control of my companion since he knew more about Thai food than me. The waitress brings over tortilla chips with some kind of sauce. I find tortilla chips in a Thai place a little strange but ate them anyway. He ordered these steak skewers that were delicious. Meat was very tender and flavorful. He ordered the Chicken Panang for me. The dish was really good, with LOTS OF CHICKEN, and veggies. I had so much that I took half for lunch the next day. (which was equally delicious) We ordered the THAI DONUTS, these are a MUST! There were like 7 of them with a delicious dip. I've been craving those since Friday night. The service was wonderful. The two ladies worked as a team with pouring waters, clearing plates and serving food. read more

Hands down, this is my go to Thai restaurant in Davie. Quick service, good food, cozy ambiance, clean restaurant - I can't ask for more! They ask you how spicy you want your dish on a scale of 1-5. I ordered my pad see ew noodles at a 3. My mouth was on fire! So my guess is that at a spicy level of 5, it might rip your hole in your stomach and burn your mouth. But if you're super human, go for the 5. If not, I'd say a 2 would be perfect to get the slight kick to your meal. Their pad see ew/drunken noodles (I learned different regions of the country call this dish something different. Now that I think about it, I think Bangkok Cafe calls it something else...) is really yummy. They serve large portions as well. I got to take leftovers home and eat it for dinner. I ordered my pad see ew with steamed tofu for about $12. If you order it with tofu you have a choice of steamed or fried. They also give you the option of different meats like chicken, pork and beef for a dollar or two more. The noodles also come with a side of rice. My friend ordered the red curry. Comes with rice. She ordered it with a spicy level of 3. Again, really spicy! But nonetheless, it was delicious. They bring out chips and dip before they bring you your meal for free. I can't figure out if I like the dip or not. Actually, I can't figure out what the dip is. It's kind of like a peanut sauce, but sweet. With a salty chip, it's an interesting mix of flavors. I go to two Thai places in this area and Bangkok Cafe is one of them is Bangkok Cafe. They've been pretty consistent with the quality of their foods. So far I've tried their: Pad See Ew noodles with tofu - These are slightly sweet fat noodles with a ton of fresh veggies added to it. They also add an egg when they cook it up so you get a good amount of protein. Crispy Duck Curry - To be honest, I've only had roast duck curry (one of my favorite Thai dishes to order) before this place, so I thought it was a little weird that they deep fried the duck. I'm from California, and all the Thai places I've gone to offer roast duck curry so I was really skeptical. It was on the pricier side ($15) but I went ahead and ordered it anyway out of curiosity. I was surprisingly tasty! The crispy skin of the duck adds a great textural change to the dish. They serve the duck separately from the curry so that it stays crispy until you add it to the curry. Red Curry with Chicken - This is your typical Thai red curry dish. Lots of veggies and lots of chicken. I mean, it's a very generous serving. I usually can have 3 separate meals from this one order alone. Curry Puff - I haven't had this type of dish either. I was thinking it would be similar to a samosa, but not really. It's basically a fried wonton triangle with a potato curry inside. They serve it with this vinegar sauce. I'm not overly impressed with this appetizer, but I didn't hate it either. I just think it could've been executed better. Thai Iced Tea - The perfect drink to wash down all the spicy goodness of a Thai meal. It's a little on the concentrated/thicker side so I usually wait for the ice to melt a little to dilute the drink a bit. They have a spice range of non-spicy (0 star) to native/Thai spicy (5 star). I love my Thai spicy so I go for their 5 star. Be warned, it actually is Thai spicy. Like, tears flowing, nose sniffling, lips burning, can't feel the back of your throat spicy. And I love it. But on days I want something easier on my palate, I go for a 3. Their decor is on the darker side. I can definitely see that they're trying to go for that romantic feeling, but the mood just dies with a TV on in the background and an obnoxious LED sign on their window. Sorry guys, better luck next time when figuring out your interior. Bad decorative decisions aside, I'll continue to frequent this place, especially when I feel pressed for time (like when I'm studying for exams) and have no desire to cook for myself. read more
