The best Samosa EVER!!! Service is so nice and fast! They told me they cook all food freshly daily. Seriously, come try!

My daughter's "BUTTER CHICKEN" with the weird pink color.
Melli B.

My daughter had a braces appointment in the same plaza as Samosa Mama and we were both STARVING afterwards and SM was looking pretty tempting on Yelp. This place is literally 5 seconds away from the dental office and I always see it and it has piqued my curiosity many times. Today was the day. We walked inside to a smallish empty dining room, kinda cutely decorated with colorful pillows on the seats. A woman came to the counter to take our order but she kept her hand over her mouth and nose and kept backing away and turning her head. I was thinking either she didn't like our perfume or she was maybe sick and didn't want to pass her sickness to us. We placed our order and took a set in the dining area and waited. The wait was kinda long (it may have seemed that way because we were super hungry). But then a young guy came out from the rear and served us our food on a tray. We dug in immediately. My daughter had the Butter Chicken Wrap. The appearance threw me off a little because when you look at the photos of their Butter Chicken, it appears to be white chicken smothered in a yellowish/brownish sauce. But her wrap had a chicken with a pinkish looking color on it. Not raw but with a pinkish outside like it had another sauce on the wrap. I asked them if it was for sure the Butter Chicken Wrap that they served her and the guy said yes. She liked the wrap and ate every bit though it was a bit messy with sauce dripping everywhere. I ordered the Vegan entree which was Veggies in a creamy curry sauce. This meal was $13 for the Small (which was actually a pretty decent amount of food. It was served with basmati rice and a side salad. I truly disliked the salad dressing. It looked like tartar sauce but tasted like cumin and mildly flavored with maybe yogurt and vinegar. I could be completely wrong but I tasted it over and over again to try and figure it out and I still am not sure what it was but to me it did not compliment the salad. The veggies and rice...flavorful and yummy and I would definitely order this again. My biggest problem is, the veggies consisted of cauliflower, peas and broccoli. There were no broccoli florets though. There were cubed broccoli stems inside which I wouldn't have had any problem with aside from the fact the it was tough and stringy. I could not chew ANY of the broccoli and that was a bit disappointing but overall the other flavors were nice. I had a pile of inedible broccoli on the side which I had struggled to bite through and it looked like shreds of green string. Weird how it was ALL inedible. Had it been one or two pieces, I wouldn't have thought anything it if but I couldn't chew ANY of it. It was literally like chewing hay or something. The best way to describe it is...you know how asparagus is hard at the very bottom and stringy? It was similar to that. Where did they get that broccoli from? I've never experienced broccoli like that. This dish was tasty though so I didn't complain. My opinion on the two things I discussed...the Butter Chicken Wrap's chicken belonged to a different dish and was repurposed but cubing it up and tossing it in the Butter Sauce because as I scroll through photos, there is a pinkish looking chicken in the pics in while pieces. As far as my dish, the broccoli and the dressing just wasn't my cuppa tea but I'd return for sure and just not have the broccoli or the dressing. I took photos of my kids wrap but my food actually came out after hers and by then I'd forgotten to snap a pic. My bad.

The mango lassi was super tasty and not overly sweet which I appreciated! I took my food home and my rice was sitting in a bit of water so once I pour the sauce over it, I believe it watered down the entire dish. The lamb was tender but I would like to try the butter chicken next time because I was looking for a much more rich and creamy texture for sauce. The garlic naan was a bit salty but it was very tender. Overall, I am happy that I stopped by and would definitely go back to try some other dishes! The service was pretty fast and the items were made fresh. There are seats in the restaurant with a welcoming ambiance should you choose to dine in.

Soo good!! I tried samosa mama at yellow green market and was excited when they got a store front. The menu is traditional paired with fun. The pizza is a must try but my favorite was the butter chicken. The sauce was creamy and the chicken was tender. The employees were very patient with us and offered recommendations when we needed it. It is more of a lunch vibe but I would happily go back for dinner.

Came across Samosa Mama when in the plaza and I'm always ready to try new options in my area, especially Indian food! I decided to order a few things so i could try a bunch of things. Went with the curry chicken bowl, butter chicken bowl, tandoori chicken, chicken samosas and garlic naan. I really like the fact that they offer bowls. You get the dish, rice, salad and naan all for what i think is a solid price. The curry chicken was really flavorful and honestly, had some kick to it. It was my favorite dish out of the 3. The butter chicken was pretty standard. Rich, tender and alright. For me, i wouldn't order it again, just not enough flavor. Tandoori chicken was that beautiful red color. Extremely tender but a little salty. With a little less salt this might have been my favorite dish. Also came with rice and salad. The Samosas were crispy and packed with filling. I used these to test all the sauces and every single one was delicious. The brown one was spiiiicy! All in all, I'll definitely be back to try a few other things and if i want a quick, easy, affordable Indian food experience in the area, this is the spot.

Came here after searching for good Indian food in the area. The reviews did not lie and the food definitely didn't disappoint. The butter chicken was done to perfection. The chicken samosas were also great and the sauces they are served with also make a great pairing. The tandoori chicken pizza was super creative so I had to try it. It was extra cheesy and a great portion to share. The service was excellent. The staff is very sweet.

I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and garlic naan from here for delivery. While the flavoring was pretty decent, it wasn't as flavorful as I'm accustomed to. The masala was a bit too oily for my liking, there were maybe 5-6 small pieces of chicken and the overall portion seemed quite small for the price point. The garlic naan was decent and so was the masala, but I don't imagine I'll try the same thing if I order from here again.

Not much to choose from on the menu, but what's there they do it just right. We were craving Indian food but wanted to try a place we hadn't eaten from before. We ordered in so I can't speak to the ambience but the food was incredibly flavorful without being too spicy and our order was filled perfectly. I would order from here again in a heartbeat.

I was really craving Indian food today, and I was super excited to see that this one was on my way home and seemed pretty good based on recent reviews. However, the food was lack luster at best, which is surprising since it smelled so good in there. I got a chicken tikka masala bowl to go. The rice was not as flavorful as I'm used to, but still pretty good. The tikka masala though left a lot to be desired. It was extremely oily and would not combine even with stirring, an issue I've never had with tikka masala from other restaurants. The chicken wasn't the same orange color I'm used to, instead, it was a weird off white. It was also pretty dry. The naan bread was okay, a bit tough. I feel bad writing this because the owners were so nice and welcoming. The gentleman who rang me up seemed really happy to be there and seemed to genuinely appreciate my business. Based on other reviews, I think that maybe I just got a bad batch of food - it happens sometimes, you know? I think based on the smell in the restaurant and the kindness of the staff, it has potential to be an awesome casual Indian food restaurant. I think I'll give them some more time to find a rhythm before I give them a second chance.

The restaurant was rated on Ambiance Food Presentation Food Taste Service Value for money Ambiance - Nothing Indian about the Interior besides the menu screen. This place is clean though. Half star Food Presentation Food is served in take-out boxes. Half star Food Taste Chicken Tikka Masala was like Chicken Korma or Chicken Curry. The Pakoras were soaked in oil and not freshly made even though we were the only customers there however, they tasted good. Half star Service Be ready to order food at the counter and pick up your food when ready. The bowl doesn't come in a bowl but separately (see picture for Chicken Tikka Masala). Half star. Value for money Not really, we found the food a bit pricey for the type of Indian restaurant, quality, and service of food. Zero star Total 2 stars. Thanks for reading.

Samosa Mama Henna and Papa are a super friendly and cute couple who own the restaurant and related prepared foods business that they sell at farmers markets. I first found Henna (and a previous business partner when it was called Nisha's) at a Whole Foods farmers market many years ago, then rediscovered her at Yellow Green. The prepared samosas, chutneys and parathas have been a staple in my freezer for several years now. They make a great snack or meal and reheat marvelously. You can get any of her frozen items at the restaurant. On to the made to order food we had today: Vegetable Pakoras- amazing, light and crispy, not oily, everything you want this snack to be. Chicken Tikka Samosas- also crisp, the filling is well seasoned and plentiful. Butter Chicken Wings- never heard of it, but can't live without it now. We happened upon them on a Wednesday, which is their chicken wing day and it was $2 off. Very flavorful, very tender, and the fries that are served with are also seasoned with spices. Saag Paneer- excellent spinach sauce, very green, not over cooked with large chunks of cheese. Daal Masala- a unique taste, and smell, not incredibly flavorful, probably not for everyone. This was our most disappointing dish, but edible. Garlic Naan- where is the garlic? There was obviously some herbs on top with a heavy butter flavor, crispy on the bottom chewy on the top cooked very nicely, but sadly, no garlic to be found. Butter Naan- this non-we found to be a little bit more Dowie, I feel like it didn't rise as much. Also, because the other non-did not have any garlic on it, they basically were the same. Chutneys- Yes!! Her chutney have always been delicious, we had tamarind end, date, chutney, and her cilantro chutney that has a little bit of heat to it. These are Chinese I have bought from the farmers markets and keep on hand at all times. Raita- unfortunately, the other disappointing thing as this was very thin and not as flavorful as we would've liked. Overall, the service was cheerful, the food was fresh and flavorful, and despite the one sauce and one dish, not being that great, we would 100% come back. To speak to another reviewer's comments on the takeout containers, we did also noticed that. But, it wasn't really a big deal for us, except that when our appetizers came out, they did not give us anything to eat on or in. So that's the only comment I would really make there.

Butter chicken bowl, an order of naan, and the potato samosas!
Gabriella P.

I don't know if this is a mom and pop, but it certainly felt that way. The service was great. This is a quick service Indian spot with the food ready to be served. I was nervous the food wouldn't taste fresh but it did. I ordered the butter chicken bowl (served with rice, a salad, and a small piece of naan) ($14), a three piece order of potato filled samosas (owner threw in an extra one) ($8), and then an order of plain naan ($2). So for $25, I got what you might very well pay $35-$40 (excluding tip) at other local Indian restaurants. I was really pleased with how affordable this spot was. Now for the food. Butter chicken was pretty good. Not the best I've had but good. Probably a 4/5. I wish I had asked for the chicken in a separate container instead of on top of the rice because all of the sauce dried up in the rice. I don't really eat the rice much when I have Indian. I prefer just eating the chicken with naan and dipping the naan in the sauce. If you're like me, ask for the chicken in a separate container. Samosas we're the best I've had. Filling was delicious and the samosas were hot and crispy. They came with two green sauces. A lighter, thinner sauce, and a thicker darker one. The darker one was a bit too spicy for me but the lighter one was great. Speaking of spice, the food had a bit of a kick to it (duh). I only bring it up because if you are sensitive to spice, understand that the food is ready to serve--so there's no taking that away. I think the spice level was mild to medium depending on your tolerance level. Finally, like everything else, the naan was hot and fresh. Would've enjoyed it more if I could have dipped it in the butter chicken sauce, but now I know for next time. If you're in the area, this place is definitely worth the try. Quick, solid Indian food at a great price.

He made recommendations, knew the dishes, made sure we always had everything we needed, and was a pleasure to deal with. And the food! We each had different things and I can truly say there wasn't a miss. We had chilly shrimp, samosas, samosas chaat, tandoori momos, tandoori biryani, shrimp vindaloo, goat, masala, bullet naan, and garlic naan. Add some Indian beers for the men and prosecco for the ladies and we were happy campers! I can't believe in the four years this place has been open, we never knew it existed. Apparently this has been there for over a year but I've never heard or seen this place despite being in the plaza several times in the year. I was looking for something different or new. While searching Indian, this came up and the Himalayan aspect peaked my interest. Particularly the momo dumplings being something I've never seen before sold me on this spot. The space is small but spacious, clean and bright. The hostess/waitress was nice and helpful when I asked for recommendations. We ordered the HIMALAYAN THALI SET( FOR TWO) which came with an appetizer, 4 entrées, 2 desserts, naan of your choice and rice. We were told it would take a while to come out because it all comes out at once. We said it was fine and ordered some steamed chicken momo to hold us over till the food came. Our chili paneer app from our set came out and it was quite tasty with a good spice/flavor. Maybe 10ish minutes later our thali set came out. We went with our waitress rec for one veggie (aloo gobi), one chicken (karahi), one lamb (korma), and one seafood (shrimp tikki masala). It came with one bowl of rice for 4 bowls of food. We chose the garlic naan but they had many different more creative options to choose from. The naan was good but not great. The aloo gobi was tasty as was the shrimp tikki masala. The lamb korma sauce was delish but the lamb pieces were a little hit or miss with some tender but others a little harder or dry. Maybe another 10 minutes after our main dishes arrived, the steamed momo arrived. It was tasty and very layered with different flavors that I couldn't quite pinpoint. For dessert we got the kheer and mango kulfi which were unique. Without having a reference point for what a regular entree size is, it's kind of hard to say the cost value in the thali set for two, but if it's your first time and you want to try a a few things, it's probably worth it. I will be back to try the lunch specials next time.

I thought the kadhai was a bit oily, but it was still tasty. We loved the naan, especially dipped in the tamarind chutney that I requested.
