Mantra Express is in the old spot that used to house Udipi Cafe---a vegetarian Indian restaurant. Udipi was a favorite of mine for many years. Then it became a Greek/Indian eatery serving both vegetarian and non-veg. When I recently saw the new name at the same location with it being back to being just Indian food with both veg and non-veg dishes, I got excited. We popped in around 2 p.m. on a weekday and opted to try the buffet. It is served from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on weekdays. The place was empty. It was clean and pleasant, and, of course, service was excellent. I can't say the same for the food. Some of it seemed to be sitting there for a while. The sauces were a bit dried up and even the biryani was not moist. The tandoori was decent, but a tad salty. At $17.95 for the buffet, I mostly enjoyed the veg pancake, several pieces of naan that I dipped in tamarind chutney, and the sweet citrus drink.

I went for the lunch buffet and it was pretty decent. I especially loved the various appetizers they had, including the aloo tikki and spring rolls. Goat and fish curries were good. They brought the naan and dosa to the table which was nice. The chutneys, sambar and the dessert section could use some improvement. Ambiance is okay. It is a small strip mall and there is enough parking. The place is still very new, so I will need to give it a couple of tries more and check out the dinner service.

My father introduced me to this new restaurant in Sunrise. Initially I wasn't excited because I felt, okay another Indian restaurant. Well I was wrong. The food was delicious, especially the gobi manchurian. The dosa was perfect but I wish I had a little more coconut chutney. Other than that you get full really fast. The staff is attentive and pleasant. Always checking to make sure our needs were met. The ambience was average but clean and the layout was just right. It's not cramped like other places. The tables are far apart. I'm excited to try a few more of their street food items especially since the prices are reasonable.

We had a lovely dinner here for the first time and it was absolutely delicious. We ordered chicken korma and Lamb Rohan Josh as well as the garlic naan and chicken samosas. All the food was piping hot and tasted amazing. The service was also above and beyond with our server who was very attentive and welcoming to us. We will definitely be back! Our new favorite Indian restaurant!

A darling little spot tucked in a small plaza along University Dr. The interior is simply and tastefully decorated for an Indian restaurant. The server, Silvester, and his colleague Xavier, took great care of us. We started with the aloo tikki as an appetizer. At first, a dish arrived that looked nothing like aloo tikki. Silvester apologized and agreed to take it away, but Xavier explained what it was and recommended that we try it on the house since it was already at the table. Even though the dish wasn't my favorite, it was still good and both men displayed wonderful table manner. After that positive into, the actual aloo tikki did arrive and it was delicious. 4 little potato patties arrived with a side of tamarind and mint chutney. Silvester came back to the table and explained that we had hit $40 with all the items we ordered and were eligible for a free appetizer. We added the tandoori chicken wings. Next to arrive was my masala dosa, followed by my mom's chole bhatura, and then lastly the chicken wings. All the remaining items were fantastic and I can't wait to return for the dosa. The only complaint I have is that the food took quite a while to come out. I was nearly done with my dosa by the time my mom's dish came out. But we weren't in a rush and I shared my plate while we waited. Overall, great experience and I would definitely come back.

New restaurant alerttttt! This place was so yummy -- you gotta try it. my server, Silvester, was so sweet as well. I went during lunch, and they had a buffet option, but I opted to order the lamb vindaloo a la carte... It was spicy and flavorful. More expensive than a cold lunch sandwich, but so worth it. I'll def be coming back!!

Butter naan came freshly made and part of our buffet.

I love the chicken curry. The waiters were very nice. And the room had nice decor. The tea was top notch.

That's exactly how The Baked Bear got me. Hook, line, and sinker. If you've never been, the concept is simple and brilliant. High-quality ingredients and a build-your-own dessert approach. Cookies, brownies, cones, ice cream, toppings. You mix, match, and create something that feels a little more custom than your average scoop shop. And the ingredients really do deliver. The cones are nicely crisp, and if you've never had one of their ice cream sandwiches, start there. They'll build it with warm cookies on the outside and freezing cold ice cream on the inside, which might be the most satisfying hot-meets-cold dessert combination ever created. Warm cookie. Frozen ice cream. Zero regrets. For my order, I went with the berry crumble and strawberry cheesecake on a waffle cone. The waffle cone had a great crisp to it, and the flavors were light and refreshing. You got a nice hint of berry without it being overpowering. If anything, I would have welcomed a little more berry punch, but it was still very enjoyable. We also tried the campfire s'mores, which absolutely popped with bold flavor, and the cookie dough, which was fine but a little more average compared to the others. The one area where things felt slightly limited was the flavor selection. They offered around a dozen choices, but many leaned heavy into chocolate territory. If you're a chocolate lover, you'll feel like you hit the lottery. If you're looking for a wider range of lighter or fruit-forward options, the variety could be better. Still, the concept is great and the ingredients are excellent. Tip: do not accept the free sample unless you're emotionally prepared to buy ice cream immediately afterward. Four stars. Great concept, excellent flavors, just a little light on variety. Definitely worth the trip even if the sweet tooth hasn't kicked in yet.... Oh, and it's okay sometimes to have dessert for dinner... and this would be the place for that!

I felt a little hot inside, the door was open though so maybe thats why. There were about 6 chairs facing the window for customers to sit abd enjoy their ice-cream. They had nice ice cream flavors but not what I wanted. There was a blue one which I though was a cookie monster but it was something else. I really wanted the cookie monster. They had a cookie monster cookie but not the ice cream. I loved the cookie options. Walked out with a carrot cake cookie for $3 which tasted exactly like carrot cake. They warmed it up for me. Today, I had some time between appointments and decided to finally sit down, relax, and grab something to eat along with my coffee fix. I ordered a croissant and a cafe con leche. Even though it was busy around midday, I was able to find a cozy table. My light meal was brought out to me, and I enjoyed every bite of the perfectly made croissant while sipping on my requested extra hot coffee. As people came and went, I found myself admiring the decor and the friendliness of the staff. The whole place feels cozy, hip, and welcoming. Before leaving, I decided I wasn't done yet and ordered a cortada (hopefully I'm spelling that right). I waited by the counter, but the lady kindly told me she would bring it to my table, even though I didn't mind waiting. It was divine as always. Even the unique little glass cup with its interesting handle stood out to me, and yes, once again, the coffee was perfectly extra hot just the way I like it. I truly enjoyed my alone time there. It can get a little noisy, but honestly, once you settle into your own little zone, you barely notice. I'm off for the week, so I'll probably end up back here again in a couple of days since I'll be in the area. All in all, Ella Cafe is a must try coffee shop experience. Great service, great coffee, delicious food, and an inviting atmosphere. I've also had their salads and sandwiches in the past, and they never disappoint.
