My family and I used to love an Asian restaurant (Sushi Takara) that offered a variety of cuisines in appetizer size plates, and it was in the same spot where Shahi is now located. But that was almost two decades ago, and since then, a couple of others (Bombay Grill, Indian Chilies, to name a few) have come and gone. Hopefully, this eatery will be here for a awhile. Because the food and service are extremely good. The place is clean and decorated like a banquet hall ready to host a special occasion. My friend and I had a Saturday buffet lunch here. We were never offered a menu, so I don't know if one could order a separate dish. But we gladly sifted through the offerings, tasting all that appealed to us. There was soup, samosas, tandoori, biryani, lentil dishes, plain basmati rice, two kinds of potatoes, butter chicken, a chicken curry, and others, as well as sweet cheese balls for dessert. They even offered a milky masala tea. And your meal comes with dosas and naan. I loved the slightly spicy tamarind chutney, one of a few sauces, available. I especially liked the soup, samosa, tender tandoori chicken, the biryani, and the dalwa. I gobbled up my dosa and naan dousing them in tamarind chutney. The weekend lunch buffet (Saturday and Sunday only) is $22.95 and with tax and tip it costs close to $30. The restaurant does have a weekday lunch plate that is $13.99 that comes with a choice of an entree (selected from a list) and some sides. I am hoping to try that next. read more

We had a very good lunch here. We'd planned to go to another restaurant across the street, but they turned out to be closed. We saw a sign for this place and decided to cross the road. When we first arrived, we were the only people inside. The restaurant was larger than it appeared from the street/outside. All the tables were covered in white table linens. There was a regular menu plus some lunch specials as well as a combo lunch special plate advertised on a table placard. The lunch specials were very well priced and appealing, but we decided to go with the special combo as it included both naan and rice and a drink/soda. The combo plate had 2 pieces of plain naan and fluffy basmati rice in the center, then sections with spicy lentil dahl, roasted tandoori chicken on the bone topped with raw onions, a fried samosa (stuffed with potatoes?) appetizer that was a bit spicy, creamy butter chicken (white meat chunks) in a savory sauce, and for dessert: sweet gulab jamun. Everything was quite good. We even took a bit of our lunch home for a later meal. My husband enjoyed a hot milk chai (tea) and I just had a soda for my included drink. While we were dining, we got to watch/hear some Bollywood style videos on the large screen TV. It was a good background to our meal. We had good service. We liked everything on the combo. We came by here a couple of months ago as we had a craving for Pakistani food. This place is recommended by a friend who like me is a self-professed foodie! This used to be another Indian restaurant whose name I cannot remember, but approximately 10 months ago was taken over by Mr Raees who was the former owner of Eli's kitchen where south of us. This is a very large restaurant, kind of divided with one side able to host, large banquets, and the other side where the regular diners are attended to. It is clean, well lighted, and can host large groups of people . We were a group of four people so we went ahead and ordered on the recommendations of our server . Vegetable Pakoras, Chicken Karahi and a mixed grill served on a bed of delicious biryani rice! For you newbies, I would highly recommend this dish as it gives you a great sample of quite a few of their barbecued meats and a biryani. The portion is very generous, and the price is very reasonable. Our server was more than attentive and helpful and I apologies for not remembering her name. The owner Raees came by a table to check on us. He was very friendly and involved with the restaurant and whenever that happens that is the icing on the cake. FELLOW YELPERS I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING THIS PLACE OUT FOR GREAT PAKISTANI CUISINE !! Needless to say WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY!! Great food and service! Visiting from NY we were looking for Pakistani food and were so glad that we could eat here. The staff was so friendly and accommodating with us and stayed open late to serve us. Nihari was super delicious and chicken biryani was excellent too! Very quick and easy to get my order. It's a big restaurant that looks like it can accommodate a lot of people, but it was pretty quiet when I went on a weekday. Food was pretty good, I ordered the butter chicken with rice, and got garlic naan on the side. Nice, standard Indian cuisine. read more

We have found the best Pakistani restaurant. The food is great, and the owner and staff are excellent. The most wonderful buffet on the weekend!! So many varieties of authentic halal dishes, tender beef stews, and paya are endless to enjoy. Puri, nan, and Tea are included. Love the place read more

This is my first time at this restaurant, and I will definitelybe going back. I have been to several Indian/Pakistani restaurants, and the food is one of the best that I have ever tasted. I had the Goat karahi, and the palak paneer with nan and basmati rice. The staff was very attentive, and the service was impeccable. The place was very clean, and welcoming. Whether you want to have a nice dine in experience, or you want a take out order, you will enjoy the food. The food is well seasoned and very tasty. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I feel this restaurant is in its infancy and will need a while to get the menu and layout worked out. It's way too white in there and it has a vibe of forgotten Florida from the 70's. Now back to the menu. I was expecting more Indian and Pakistani choices and what I got was a limited menu with quite a few Americanized options. The food is priced reasonably, and the portions are on the larger side. The entrance to the restaurant needs a bit of help. Service when I went was efficient and friendly. Food quality was about average for me with the garlic naan being a standout for me. Would like to see this restaurant offer more ethnic plates. They do offer lunch and weekend specials. The two dishes we ordered: Channa (Chickpea) Masala and Aloo Baingan (Potato and Eggplant) are very delicious and relatively reasonably priced around $15 a piece... The service is good... The waitress is nice, helpful, and friendly... The tables and chairs are formally and elegantly covered in white cloths...The room is clean... We are very much impressed by the great taste and quality of the dishes served... We will definitely come back to try the same again and other dishes... We strongly recommend this restaurant to all who are looking for delicious vegetarian curries and other spicy dishes... Today (4/21/24) I tried their buffet and enjoyed it very much... The meat in my food was raw and when we pointed it out we did not get an apology. If you're vegetarian the buffet is not for you, only 2 options and 1 of them was inedible. When we mentioned this to the person working there he asked what country we're from and that's why we couldn't appreciate their meat dishes. Flies hovering over left over plates on the table.
