The food is amazing! I got the Lemon pepper wings with a side of Jerk Chicken. I subbed the fries for rice and peas. They added oxtail gravy to the rice, added bonus! Also the food is extremely tasty. You can taste every flavor in each bite. The lemon pepper wings are dry rubbed, but this saucy variation was not to Joy tastebuds. It's almost as if you can eat the rice by itself. It is nice and flavorful. I'm super happy to have visited the new location in Davie. The place is huge and I plan on visiting with my team. I have been meaning to try some food from here and was finally able to. I ordered the jerk chicken pasta. The chicken was tender and not overcooked. The pasta was al dente. I do wish it had more of the pasta sauce. It took some mixing to get the bit of sauce at the bottom. I also wish I had Parmesan cheese on top. If there was any added I could barely tell. My husband and I are Jamaican and went to try Chef Reece Kitchen since it's the most convenient location for us. We had high hopes and were satisfied with our meals. The portions were generous. Our family of 4 were able to have lunch and still enough leftovers for dinner as well. Katana was friendly and helped answer our questions about the menu and pairings. The restaurant was clean, bright and had seating both inside and outside. There was a dish of hard candy on the counter which was reminiscent of my grandmother's home. There was a 15-20 minute wait for the order, so next time we will probably call ahead and pick up. It was nice knowing that our food was being prepared fresh to order versus other nearby Jamaican restaurants which almost offer buffet style service. I enjoyed one of their bottles of natural juice while we waited. The mango passion juice was sweet and refreshing and felt like I was back home drinking fresh fruit juice. My husband enjoyed his oxtail with rice and peas. The gravy was rich and flavorful. My kids enjoyed the baked macaroni and cheese. It was cheesy and had a good texture- not soft or mushy, but also not crunchy (they don't usually like baked pastas). The fried chicken was juicy on the inside and had a crunchy skin/crust. The jerk chicken was not spicy, so not what I'm used to, but also good for us since it was also something our kids could enjoy. The chicken was juicy which was nice because many places tend to dry out the meat when trying to impart the charred flavor. Next time, I will try it without the gravy to see if it makes a difference. He was so nice and friendly. He explained how they make everything in house and they even make some of their juices in house as well. He talked to us for approximately ten minutes and it was so awesome to meet him. There are not a lot of chefs that will come out from the kitchen and talk to the customers. This gives the place a nice added touch. The only suggestion that I have is that they should have free refills on soda. They don't have a soda machine and thus, they provide cans and/or bottles. I finally made it to CRK. This restaurant is beautiful and clean. We arrived a little after 4:00 pm and the restaurant was not busy. We ordered at the kiosk in the front and paid for our meals. You might remember them in Pines, but they have moved to a new location with have the same great menu, and weekend specials of escovitch fish and curry goat. I started with the salmon burger drenched in hot honey. This is absolutely delicious and finger licking good. The fries were solid as well. The jerk chicken pasta everything was cooked and seasoned well. I would love to see that sauce get more of the jerk seasoning and more peppers too. I also got the oxtail plate with rice & peas and Mac & cheese. The Mac is very soft and I like the combination of cheeses used. The rice and peas were just how I like them served perfectly with the tender oxtail. Y'all this was so good. And I can happily say there was plenty of meat on every one of my oxtails To wash this all down, I got the pine and ginger juice. I was getting a pedicure nearby and my nail technician, who is married to a Jamaican, told me the food was good. So, being a Jamaican, I was excited that a new place was nearby and popped by for a quick lunch. The eatery is in the plaza with Field of Flowers and Dunkin Donuts, so there is lots of parking. I was a bit disappointed that the lunch menu only had two items, jerk chicken and fried chicken. Since I recently had some jerk, I opted for the fried chicken. My food was ready in about 10 mins. The chicken was piping hot and well seasoned. And, as I had chosen on my order, my rice and peas was covered with oxtail gravy (to my delight). I got two chicken legs and a small piece of breast, the rice, and some steamed cabbage. The lunch special was $6.99. The rice was plentiful and so good I could have eaten it all. But I saved a piece of chicken and some of the rice to bring home for my hubby to try. The Chef Reece menu does not have the typical Jamaican fare. There is no brown-stew chicken, no curried chicken, no stew peas and rice, and no soups. Curried goat is available only on Fridays and Saturdays. However, I will definitely be going back to get a take-out meal or two. It's nice to have a Jamaican place a little closer to my Plantation home.
