I've only been here once. I got the oxtail pasta. It was very good! I really enjoyed it. And it was a very large portion. I got three meals out of it lol. My only criticism is the pasta sauce (seems to be some kind of alfredo) was too thin so it did not coat the pasta. I was so excited to try this place! I practically studied the menu all weekend and couldn't wait for Tuesday since they were closed on Sunday. I had my mouth all set for some oxtails and wings. I went around 1:30 to ensure that the oxtails would be done. They were not. I ended up getting a wing sampler platter for myself and 6 piece buffalo for my son. The lady that was taking the orders was so nice and helpful! I'd asked her to make sure that my wings were fried hard and she ensured me that they would be. The majority of my wings were fried hard. The wings that were sauced were fried to perfection and the plain wings were not. The flavors of the wings were jerk bbq, hot honey, lemon pepper, garlic parmesan and plain. Out of the 5 flavors the garlic parm was my fav and it is a flavor that I would never order. My least favorite was the lemon pepper as I was not able to identify which is was supposed to be. There was nothing jerk about the jerk bbq and the hot honey was more honey than hot. The plain wings were just that; plain. It had no seasonings on it whatsoever. Food takes a while to come out but is piping hot when it does so I highly recommend to order ahead. We ordered the oxtails w pasta which had plenty for 2 to share. Pasta was cooked perfectly and was saucy. The oxtails were tender and super flavorful. We also had a order of fried chicken w rice and peas and Mac. The fried chicken had flavor and was crispy. I came here wanting to try the curry goat. The young lady working told me they only served it on Friday and Saturday. So I ended up ordering the fried chicken which came with two sides. Besides I chose the rice and peas and plantains. The fried Chicken was delicious. I loved that hint of garlic. Now, this could be because I had not eaten fried Chicken in a while. Going back to 2022 maybe even longer than that. The sweet plantains were the best I've eaten since I've been working in Florida. The rice and peas had a very good flavor and the rice was perfectly cooked. My only complaint is you could count the amount of peas. Since the dishes is called rice and peas, I was hoping for a decent amount of peas.. That's all I'm saying. I came here I guess before the grand opening which I was told it would be happening the next day, But they were open and accepting customers. It has a nice aesthetic, with the green grass wall accents. Also a few tables inside and outside if you want to enjoy your meal there. I met a friendly cashier at the counter, I already knew what I wanted so it didn't take me long to order. I ended up getting the oxtail pasta that had great flavor. I'm really a pasta lover!!! My only take away is that the oxtail needed to be cooked a little longer it wasn't tough. But they weren't falling off the bone either. All in all I would return when in the area. read more

The brightness of the interior is your first sign that this is a 21st century Jamaican cafe. Met with a huge smile and great vibes from the staff and a great sense of humour all around . We spoke with another patron and he gave us some suggestions but the server helped us too. My Jamaican friend ordered oxtail and my well travelled other friend some chicken . I ordered the salmon pasta . As we sat two policemen entered and the humour continued. Really wonderful clean bright modern and then the food was served . Tasty beyond belief and not much wait time . The portions are very generous and the food was hot and fresh. The sweetness of the honey garlic along with the creamy pasta sauce was 10 out of 10. The jerk chicken wasn't too spicy which I prefer. I had very high hopes for this place as I've been following them on social media, when I arrived the place was empty which I like cause I'm usually starving when I get in. Cheri kitchen where do I start? I really feel like chef kitchen is overhyped. I'm definitely not gonna lie to you about that but my wife tends to love chef Reese. She loved the pasta. I got the oxtail pasta something I've never had before as I usually order my oxtails with rice. It was a pleasant change up. The oxtail was neatly trimmed and butchered. The pasta was cooked perfectly and well sauced. I wish there was more green peppers or even broccoli it was missing something. My mom gave the oxtail a 10/10 but I found them too sweet to me. I don't live anywhere near this restaurant and yet they know me by name now. Every time I'm in the area it is my go to for Jamaican food. I've cracked the code and learned to order online before getting there to cut down the wait time, but I think the first time you go, you should go and order inside so you can see everything and ask questions. If they are not too busy they will be happy to answer you, especially if it's your first time. There will be a wait if you go though, so be prepared, but also that is the sign of good food. The food is authentic and delicious. The restaurant is clean. Small inside and outside areas for eating in if you absolutely must. The jerk chicken is a favorite but I have also heard very good things about their oxtail and also their salmon pasta. The adage about the ruder the staff the better the food does not hold up here.
