    Chinese Vegetable Special

Not a bad place. Quite clean, nice service- bartender was very friendly and the waitresses were very pleasant. It's mainly a Guyanese menu (and I'm Trinidadian ) so I can't say how authentic it was Over all, the price point is excellent, not many veggie options but offer large enough portions. The picture I posted provided me with 2 full meals. Not a fancy joint, just somewhere casual to hear some soca and eat some West Indian food.

Fried bangamary (fish) and chicken in de ruff fried rice.

I ordered chicken in de ruff fried rice and fried bangamary for take out. The chicken had a nice flavor, but definitely not as good as before. The rice was a little dry. And the fish lacked any flavor whatsoever. Still it was all enjoyable since we don't get this food where we live. The lady who took the order was very nice and personable. The guy who took payment and gave me the food did not interact with me at all. The restaurant is more like a bar with loud music and several TVs. If I do return, it will be for takeout again. Gripe - unreasonable surcharge for credit cards. This is unacceptable especially with payments processors charging way less than that. Plus the global trend is going cashless. Small businesses can do better than adding this unreasonable charge which just serves to minimize the experience.

Food was delicious. A hidden gem in Browardcounty. A group of us went here for lunch.

This was a perfect recommendation location outside of the usual Caribbean restaurants everyone ventured to. It's a family-owned and operated Guyanese-Chinese fusion restaurant which will now be added to my #SouthFloridaEats spots. Located in a strip mall, the food was prompt and tasty.... the music was pumping as it's also a sports bar Definitely check it out. E A T S Fried Rice, Chow Mein, and Fried Chicken I could have eaten an entire plate of the #chowmein... sooooo good

When I lived in NYC, I always frequented Hibiscus in Queens. Not sure if there's any relationship to the restaurant in NYC, but I decided to try and it did not disappoint. I ordered the Peking Duck, Lo Mein, Chow Mein, Veggie Fried Rice, Steamed wontons and the Fried Chicken Wings. All items were incredibly delicious. If you go here you MUST try the fried rice and the duck. This gave me a little taste of Guyanese/Trini-Chinese food that I'm accustomed to. My only feedback is to add a little more seasoning to the steamed wontons. Other than that, Hibiscus is an incredibly authentic Caribbean Chinese food spot. It is representative of our very diverse cuisine that we have in the Caribbean. Next visit, I'll check them out for happy hour and some cutters!

Great West Indian restaurant in the area. Food is delicious and prices are reasonable. Authentic Guyanese/Trini food worth the price.

Great Guyanese/Trini restaurant in the area. Food is good and prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is delightful.

It's a small, mom-and-pop-like shop which of course is the best kind of restaurant IMO. When I walked in, everything smelled amazing and all the food was covered up, which I can appreciate for cleanliness purposes. I was greeted by a smiling and upbeat Simone, who is super warm and welcoming. This was a very pleasant surprise given how my beautiful Jamaican people do not always get the best rep for customer service (IYKYK). I ordered the oxtail, rice and peas and some jerk chicken. Simon gave me a beautiful, and packed plate. The rice and peas was SOO good, I was happy just eating it by itself. The oxtail pieces were big and juicy and FALL-OFF-THE-BONE good. The cabbage had a distinct color and flavor that I LOVED. I give the overall plate a 9/10 only because I didn't get any carrots with the oxtail or sweet plantains in my order which I personally prefer and personally feel should come with oxtail meals. Also because while the jerk chicken LOOKED AMAZING and was nice enough, it didn't pack as much flavor as I would like and they didn't have a signature sauce with it (again, a personal preference, try it yourself, to see how YOU feel). Overall, this was an awesome experience. I would definitely eat here again and strongly encourage you to give it a try if you haven't yet, even just to experience the pleasure of meeting Simone.

We arrived around 11 PM on a Friday and the place had great energy. It was lively without feeling overwhelming, and a few tables looked like they were celebrating special occasions, which added to the vibe. The music was excellent and honestly brought back a bit of that nostalgic, high school party feel in the best way. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were definitely strong and well made. The service stood out just as much as the atmosphere. The owner was incredibly pleasant and attentive, checking in with us several times to make sure we were taken care of. You could tell she genuinely cared about the guests. I also learned the owners are Trini and Guyanese, which I loved because it added a nice personal touch to the experience. As a first time visitor, I really appreciated that she thanked us for coming when we left. It made the experience feel welcoming and personal. I'll definitely be back to try the food. As a vegetarian, I'm hoping to make a special request since there aren't many Chinese vegetarian options on the menu, but I'm confident they'll accommodate it. We left after 1 AM and people were still coming in, so it's clearly a popular late night spot. Great location right off University with plenty of parking, which makes it super convenient. Overall, a great night, great energy, and a place I'll be returning to.

The location is not in the best neighborhood, and by looks of their front door (iron bars), it very well might be an unsafe area. The restaurant inside is clean, I'll give them that. Tables and floors were well kept and wiped down after guests left. There were a couple ladies behind the counter who were friendly and gave us some time to review the menu. Jason and I both ordered the same thing, goat curry (curry goat) with rice and peas and it came side a small side of steamed cabbage and a few sweet plantains as well. We took our food to go and all the way home it smelled go good! Immediately when I opened the container I knew right away, it was going to be a hit or miss (for me). The color or the goat was very yellow, which means, this curry was more turmeric than actual curry power. Being from the Caribbean, you know the difference between the 2 things.... Nevertheless, we ate, and we both liked the food, it was not something that I felt like I could not stop eating, nor thought 'wow I can't wait to go back'. The meat of the goat was tender for sure. The flavors that I'm familiar with, were not there. And I understand that this might be the restaurant's way of cooking, and their style, and that's totally ok, it's just for me this was not one of my favorite Jamaican spots.

Everything tasted great. The chicken was crispy, the rice and peas were well seasoned, and the oxtail gravy brought everything together perfectly. The plantains were a standout, sweet like candy and cooked just right. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. However, the ambiance felt more like a hole in the wall spot rather than a polished dining environment. That being said, the quality and flavor of the food definitely make up for it. Overall, it's a great place to grab authentic, delicious Jamaican food, and I'd definitely come back again.

Going in, the interior was very clean and clearly gave off carribean vibes. The tables inside were jumping with other patrons, but we were seated rather quickly. For dinner, we ordered 1x griot dinner complete (meaning the platter; rice & peas, pikliz, plaintains), 1x lassot complete (fried turkey), and 2x pate codes (think of a loaded hatian empanada; we ordered 1x fish and 1x chicken). Moving on with our review; everything was excellent! The griot had a nice crispy exterior but was tenderly seasoned inside. The lassot was surprisingly moist and crispy too. To include, the contrast of the onions marinated with the green seasoning on top. The rice & peas were cooked perfectly as they were light as air and plantains were crispy & salted nicely too. The pate codes were huge in size and flavor as well! My preference would be the original over the fish, but they both packed a tangy, savory, and spicy punch! Moreover, we had the pleasure of meeting and being served by the owner, who was very friendly and attentive. Overall, we were highly satisfied with our experience and would definitely recommend this spot for anybody who's looking for quality hatian cusuine. Final verdict 5/5!
