Recently had an order of garlic naan with butter chicken to my home. I can say I was super pleased with how quick the order arrived. Now for the portions of the food it was great portioned. The butter chicken brought rice as which i couldn't tell if it did from the online ordering. The butter chicken was both flavorful but brought as well a sweet taste which i loved. Their was not enough garlic naan. I needed like 20 it was sooo good you can eat it alone. Need to pass by next time to the actual spot and sit down to have my meal. read more

Located in a strip plaza on Pines Blvd across the street from the Pembroke Lakes Mall, this hidden gem was a surprise to me. Apparently this has been there for over a year but I've never heard or seen this place despite being in the plaza several times in the year. I was looking for something different or new. While searching Indian, this came up and the Himalayan aspect peaked my interest. Particularly the momo dumplings being something I've never seen before sold me on this spot. The space is small but spacious, clean and bright. The hostess/waitress was nice and helpful when I asked for recommendations. We ordered the HIMALAYAN THALI SET( FOR TWO) which came with an appetizer, 4 entrées, 2 desserts, naan of your choice and rice. We were told it would take a while to come out because it all comes out at once. We said it was fine and ordered some steamed chicken momo to hold us over till the food came. Our chili paneer app from our set came out and it was quite tasty with a good spice/flavor. Maybe 10ish minutes later our thali set came out. We went with our waitress rec for one veggie (aloo gobi), one chicken (karahi), one lamb (korma), and one seafood (shrimp tikki masala). It came with one bowl of rice for 4 bowls of food. We chose the garlic naan but they had many different more creative options to choose from. The naan was good but not great. The aloo gobi was tasty as was the shrimp tikki masala. The lamb korma sauce was delish but the lamb pieces were a little hit or miss with some tender but others a little harder or dry. Maybe another 10 minutes after our main dishes arrived, the steamed momo arrived. It was tasty and very layered with different flavors that I couldn't quite pinpoint. For dessert we got the kheer and mango kulfi which were unique. Without having a reference point for what a regular entree size is, it's kind of hard to say the cost value in the thali set for two, but if it's your first time and you want to try a a few things, it's probably worth it. One of my new fav Indian spots in town! Every dish is truly so good, even the starter papadum they give. There is a small Indian store next door with great service and the best samosas too. Love their garlic naan, gobi Manchurian, paneer makhani, and malai kofta. Everything was perfect for medium spicy. Excited to go back and try their momos! read more

This review is solely based off of food and I had ordered delivery. This may not be the fairest way to try this place I'll definitely go through with giving it another try. However, this is what went down! Had some Chicken Vindaloo for the first time, wasn't bad however there was barely any chicken from what I had ordered. Also ordered Paneer Naan which is essentially a cheese naan which was ok, felt like there was barely any cheese even after reheating it. I also ordered a mango lassi, this was prob the best thing from what was ordered. The momos are another level--once you try them, you'll start wondering why every restaurant doesn't serve them. Service is low-key, like you're a regular even if it's your first time. They're quick, friendly, and actually pay attention without hovering. The place itself is clean and relaxed--not trying too hard with fake decor, just letting the food do all the talking. A truly exceptional new location that has some of the best Indian food I have ever had and I have thought about it each day since I have been here. The location is very easy to find and very well lit. It had a nice vibe to it and the mirrors covering one entire wall made the place seem even larger! It was decorated nicely and the painting on the opposite wall was very pretty as well! The meal started off with an amazing cracker style bread that comes with a couple dipping sauces. One was a pesto style dip that was very refreshing as well one that was kind of like a salsa that was super refreshing as well. For the meal we decided to get the Himalayan Thali Set For Two. This runs roughly $52 and comes with a small spread of five menu options, an appetizer, dessert, rice and naan of your choice. I decided to try the chicken korma, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, lamb RoganJosh, and shrimp Korma and garlic naan. Everything was insanely flavorful and all the spices blended beautifully together. The portions were generous for a tasting style plate! The rice was cooked to perfection and having some with each sauce and meat was amazing and rounded the dish perfectly. For the appetizer I had the Crispy bite-sized chicken which is sautéed with dice Onion, Bell pepper, chef special Himalayan flavorful chili-garlic sauce. Truly exceptional flavors here! The dessert I had was the gulab jamun which is a milk dumpling in rose flavor syrup. It was very sweet and while it was amazing it was too sweet for me to be able to finish. The service started off amazing but went down a little towards the end. We had to wave out waitress over to get boxes and the check. It's a small restaurant, and the moment you walk in, you know you're getting authentic food -- which is exactly what I got. The Himalayan thali set is a great choice for two at a great price! I was undecided about going here but thanks to Karen N's review, my hubby and I decided to check it out. It was fairly busy for a Tuesday evening so we waited a bit for our food and believe me, it was well worth it. We decided to order the Himalayan Thali Set For Two after another couple sitting near us recommended it. It's a great deal for $52. You get your choice of appetizer as well as four entrees( you get a half order of each entree you order) off the menu, your choice of Naan bread, rice and two desserts. The only problematic thing about this special was trying to decide four dishes from the vast menu. We ended up with vegetable samosas, chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, lamb RoganJosh, and shrimp Korma and garlic naan. It was also served with a small spinach salad with a light dressing which was nice and refreshing and helped cool down some of the spiciness from a couple of the dishes. It was so much food that we even have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. For dessert which I was too full to eat, we ordered the mango ice cream and pistachio ice cream. I tried a small taste of each and I especially loved the mango one. So full of flavor and not too sweet. Everything was just perfect. If I had to choose a favorite I would say the butter chicken but it was all delicious. The restaurant itself was spotlessly clean and the service could not have been any better. A true 5 star experience and I can't wait to go back again and I highly recommend you checking it out if you're a fan of Indian food. Thanks to a humble search on what to eat after the gym, Yelp has shown many good options, including this hole in the wall! It was our first time at Himalayan Indian Kitchen and it did NOT disappoint! Even despite the closed sign haha... it was a minor mishap. I'm glad I still went ahead to open the door to see if it was really opened and immediately told the waiter to flip it to "open" so it won't discourage other customers from coming. Although they have lunch specials, I'm glad we went with the kind man's recommendations. We ordered lamb korma to share, mango lassi for both of us to drink, chicken lollipop to start as an appetizer, and ras malai to end on a sweet note. The chicken lollipop starter woke up our tastebuds with a spike of flavor! My husband and I were both very pleased from such a small plate. It set the bar high with flavor, but not to fret, the lamb korma also delivered with immense flavor! It looked small at first, but do not underestimate... this ONE entree got us both very well satiated! He even offered to get us another bowl of rice, but it was not necessary, one bowl for us two was enough. We both had our own glasses of mango lassi, in which tasted very creamy and the right amount of tart and sweetness, and it's so thick, I didn't finish. I asked for a to-go up so I can have the rest of it later (which I totally savored when I got home). For dessert, we got the ras malai which surprised us because we didn't imagine it to look like ice cream. Hard to believe there's cheese in it! But it was honestly sooooo freaking good! This place is in an unassuming plaza off the beaten path. It's got a relaxed and practical anterior with a bit of decoration and some cultural music playing. Nothing fancy, but not boring either. One of the things I loved was the dishware they use seemed traditional, added a charming touch. We went on a Saturday around 6 and they weren't very busy, but I could see to-go orders going out consistently. The staff wasn't overtly outgoing but they were perfectly attentive and polite. We ordered garlic naan, momo and buttered chicken as well as chicken malabari. Everything was DELICIOUS. The portion sizes were great for 1 person, not too much but definitely not too little. They give giant portions of rice, next time we are going to ask for only one portion to split so we don't waste so much. We got mild spicy for everything and it was indeed mild, just enough to add a zing to the dish, almost not noticeable. Their buttered chicken was surprisingly sweet; boarder line dessert level sweet. When cut with the rice, it was delicious, but not anything I've had before. I loved the madari flavors, felt very classic curry. The momo we got had a tomato based sauce on it, which wasn't my favorite, and it was quite spicy. But I admit, the flavors were really good and the slight fry to the dumpling was very enjoyable. The only reason, and I really waffled with this decision for awhile, that this place is getting 4/5 stars, is our dinner kept being interrupted by several fruit flies. It was really getting in the way of eating. I understand a fly here or there on occasion, but they just kept coming even after we dealt with them ourselves. It makes me concerned about why they were so abundant... Hate to end with it, but it's the truth and hopefully just a one-off, so I encourage you to still go and give it a try! read more

First visit to this restaurant was Christmas night and it was BUSY!!! As we walked in someone greeted us and we were seated. I was happy we weren't the only ones out at an Indian restaurant since it was Christmas. I already knew what I was going to order for appetizers as I was checking out their menu and reviews for days. I was so happy they serve varies types of momos. First I ordered vegetable samosa, tandoori momo and jhodi momo(sauce) I'm sure I butchered that name. Then the gobi Manchurian spicy to start. Everything came out one by one. Wish it came all at once but no big deal. Everything was delish. The tandoori momo was very different than what I had before and it tasted more authentic with the marinate. While indulging in the appetizers, I decided to order our entrees because a lot more people came in. A huge group of about 15 people and then 2 smaller groups. The restaurants itself is nice and cozy, simple and comfortable. It's nothing spectacular but it's clean so that's all that matters. By the time fhe food came we were full. Had a couple bites of malai kofta and bindi masala with naan and paratha and we were DONE. The paratha wasn't what I had in Punjab, India. I was expecting something different. All in all everything was good. The waitress kept checking in and refilling our glass. Wow! This place was so very nice! Overall, I gave them five stars because the food is good and the service was just so utterly kind. Let me specify! My sister and I got the thali set, which was a wonderful deal. I got to try two chicken curries. I will say, the tandoori wings were a bit small (pictured only one because we ate the other) however, it's enough food that I left full, so I can't complain. Tandoori chicken wings- lemony, moist and good. I wish they were a bit tangy but good Malabari chicken curry - slept on! This is creamy and delicious. It still has that tomato-y kind of base but it's slightly sweeter. Vindaloo - the spicy heat comes after the flavor, if that makes sense. I enjoyed trying hers, even if it's smth that would normally be too spicy for me. I can't remember her other order to save my life, unfortunately. Kheer was a lovely rice pudding. What really bumped this up to five stars was just how kind and patient the service was. My mother had difficulty with spice and the service was super sweet. They talked to her, offered additional options and just seemed so patient. This meant a lot to me, as she gets pretty nervous about that. They've only been open for a month and I'm sure that when the cat gets let out of the bag everyone is going to know this secret hideout. The place was empty, but we saw takeout bags fly out the door. They were very impressed with their meals. I had the lamb thali lunch special that came with your choice of lamb (I got the lamb roganjosh) dal, Chana masala, salad, rice, naan, and a samosa. I got a medium spice level for my lamb and it was spicy. Might try one level up next time. Everything was delicious and all you can eat (however it was so much food I couldn't eat anymore). My meal also came with a dessert and I settled on gulab jamun (milk dumpling with rose syrup) . I had been wanting to try momo since my trip to San Francisco in October and found out there was a Himalayan restaurant right here in Broward. Wow was this place impressive for food quality. So momo is a dish very similar to dumplings and they can be served either steamed or friend and in a variety styles. I also had the mushroom makhani which was amazing, yes people, amazing. The place is a touch difficult to find but once you do it's a foodie's paradise. No complaints about service, it was spot on. Nicely decorated inside. The night I went it was slightly warm inside but besides that clean, upscale feeling, and welcoming. They do a whole lot of take out. I will say this, never judge a book by it's cover. I was very skeptical to define here. The plaza is old! It's not aesthetically pleasing to the eye but I decided to give them a try. Very glad I did. The food was great! The rice was more wet than usual and didn't have that aromatic smell that lots of Indian restaurant rice has but it wasn't bad. The chicken was very tender! I loved the bhindi masala (okra). I can't wait to come back. Friendly staff. The inside looked renovated however, the floors, even in the bathroom were very slippery!! They were greasy. I almost did a split while using bathroom lol had to hold on to the side rail. I think this is a hazard that needs to be addressed immediately.
