Great food and place and great service. Highly recommend. Amazing drinks. My favorite is the Mac and cheese with steak bites.

We are adding this to our list of places to eat in silverton. The restaurant is very pleasant, hanging out with a drink watching silver creek is one of the better places to enjoy the afternoon. The staff ispleasant and the general ambiance is comfortable and relaxing. The drinks menu is well chosen and tasty. The food selection is a bit limited but they do a good job preparing it. That said my partner had a fine hamburger and more salad than he could eat and he's a guy who loves his greens. So, a perfectly nice place with acceptable, well prepared and served food in a really nice setting. We will be back. read more

Like others have said it so feels like this place could and should be really good, but it just isn't. The location is fantastic, and the ambiance is great but otherwise it just misses the mark. Don't get me wrong the staff was great but tonight I ordered steak and fries. The waitress immediately asked if medium was ok in the steak which sort of threw me off because I've never been to a restaurant that offered anything other than medium rare to start. Anyway I ordered rare to medium rare. But, when it comes the fries are not fresh cut as advertised, and the steak was well to medium well. I'm not one to send anything back or complain, so I tried to eat it and after 2 bites I just couldn't. It was so tough I could barely chew it. The waitress came by and I told her I hated to do it but the steak was too tough and cooked too done so I had to send it back. She was professional and took it back removing it from our check (I didn't want a replacement) but no manager came out to ask any questions or say anything which makes me believe this happens more often than it should. Honestly Noble Fox, you need to remove this item from your menu as soon as possible and either start cutting your fries fresh or stop advertising that you do. read more

Great setting, better than good service, expert mixologist, good food. A real good, "regular stop"

When we went there it was not very crowded and the service was attentive and not lacking at all, although, it did get busy before we had left. The interior is very nice, with a fancy bar, and it did seem that their focus, unfortunately, was not so much on local beers so much as their cocktails, which I get, but nonetheless, I was able to order a local beer from their scant beer offerings that I enjoyed. For dinner, my chop salad was excellent, as was the fries/cheese curds appetizer. Apparently, by reading some of the other reviews, the Noble Fox is inconsistent with their service, presumably, with understaffing, which is unfortunate, but when we were there it was not an issue and the service was excellent. Cute setting on edge of stream by bridge. Tables with umbrellas available out on deck overlooking stream. Was there on a sunny fall afternoon, Service prompt. Out of the beer we wanted. Limited menu especially if you don't eat fried foods. Ordered a sandwich with chicken tenders, friend ordered fish/chip. Both came with fries. Fries were best part, well seasoned and tasty. Both fried fish and chicken tenders overcooked and tough- could not cut the tenders with my knife, let alone the bread of the sandwich. Needs to be served with a serrated knife and cooked less. Plate was too small to serve that amount of food as fries kept falling on table, clothes, floor when trying to slice the sandwich which slid all over plate. Friend could barely bit through the fish so overcooked. Ambiance good, food not. read more

I wanted to love this spot. We went today at noon and there were two other tables there. Took 15 minutes for server to acknowledge us and he even took orders from others that got there after us. We waited over an hour for our food and he never once checked in on us. I got up to ask for more drinks and no employee to be found. The food was ok but nothing special. The chicken was over cooked and dry. I was very disappointed in our experience and will not return or recommend whatsoever. We should've gone with our traditional lunch spot while we were dropping off Santa letters but we were excited to try this place out. Top three worst dining experiences. I would have given this place one star had not the cocktails saved the day. I will say my wife and I were seated towards the tail end of a large engagement party, so the slow service gets a pass. One benefit of the slow service was we ended having 2 cocktails, which come to think of it, may have been a ploy! The cocktails were well balanced and imaginative, so I give them 5 stars. The real letdown came from the kitchen. I would give some slack if the food were not perfectly prepared and executed, but false advertising sends you right to the bottom in my book. Specifically, the Steak Bites at $26, were described as "Petite Tenderloin, Portabella mushrooms, caramelized onion, Port wine, rosemary, sumac, Demi glacé, cured lemon, served over Fingerling Potatoes". Let me say, I have never had gristle in a tenderloin. I have never had tenderloin served in chunks, nor in stringy bits and pieces. Stew meat fits that bill 100%! We asked for medium rare and received rigor mortis. Beyond that little observation, the caramelized onions and cured lemon must have dissolved in the bottled demi glace, because they were nowhere to be found. Also, the Brussels (sprouts) at $14, were described as "Gremolata, Parmesan, Balsamic Reduction, Herbs". I would have appreciated a more concise description of the dish. Something like, "Soggy brussels sprout mush, barely seasoned, slathered in a balsamic reduction, completely lacking gremolata, served lukewarm." (No teeth needed to consume) One bright star was the Harvest Salad at $17. It actually contained "Field Greens, Arugula, Butternut Squash, Pumpkin Seed, Feta, Roma Tomato, Cucumber, Onion, Craisins, Lemon Champagne Herb Vinaigrette". The tomato was unfortunately not ripe, but the salad was big enough to split and was quite tasty. I may return to imbibe, but never to dine! read more

Mothers Day...Arrived for reservation at 1pm and left at 2:45pm with only having appetizers, no main meal. We paid and tipped for the drinks and appetizers. We would not have left if there was any communications from the waiter about why it was taking so long. Just left wondering what was going on. When I asked... the waiter said "Our restaurant is full". Nothing else said. When we arrived the dining area had one table occupied. The table behind us arrived after us and was served food before we left. Even if the waiter would have told us he forgot to put our order in and we are now working in it we would have waited. An absolute gem! My wife and I happed to be walking by and stopped in. We were seated at the bar and were blown away by the ambiance. Very cool set up and the whiskey collection is amazing. We had steak bites and cauliflower off the appetizer menu, both fantastic. We finished with the peanut butter chocolate ganache cake, which was next level. Love the drinks here. There's a fantastic alcohol list. Food is ok. I love being adventurous with food but some of these flavor combos just didn't work for me. Our experience with the service was awful! I don't know if the staff needs more training or they need more staffing in the kitchen ( probably both) but the wait for food each of the 3 times that I've been here have been horrible! Each time we've had to remind the wait staff that we were still waiting for food. Today I had to leave before the food arrived as my lunch hour (and a half at this point) was over. Don't think I'll be going back unless it's just for drinks and I sit at the bar. read more

What an incredible evening! Silverton is so lucky to have The Noble Fox. The ambiance is top notch, from the seating arrangement to the refined decorating style. Sophisticated yet comfortable. The staff was so welcoming and appreciative of our business. Okay now the food and drink: My wife went for a beautiful glass of local Pinot Gris! Her eyes lit up with the first sip! Her fried chicken and bacon Mac sandwich was incredible!! The Mac and cheese was homemade... like grandma use to make at thanksgiving. Fries and aioli also on point. I couldn't pass up the 10oz. New York with baby potatoes and roasted cauliflowerini. I finished the veggies first because they were seriously THAT good! I topped the steak with caramelized onions and Gorgonzola and the bordelaise sauce was beautiful. Five of us had lunch at the Noble Fox last week, and not a one of us had a good meal. The French Dip was huge but the meat was skimpy and of the processed variety. The dry chicken sandwiches were covered with mayonnaise and otherwise tasteless. Steak bites on the chopped salad were very tough and the salad itself wilted and overdressed. One star for the lovely decor and good beer and pleasant server. We were very disappointed. Prices were high but would have seemed reasonable if the meal had been good. read more

Drinks were ok...we started with the "baked Brie" which was barely warm. Then moved on to the Brussel sprouts which were undercooked (crunchy) and highly under-seasoned (needed salt and acid). Next they served us the "lobster mac & cheese", which was very obviously made with imitation crab (what a joke that they felt that their clientele were too dumb to notice). It also was highly under-seasoned needing heat, salt and acid. Waited over an hour and 10 minutes for Mother's Day brunch after ordering food. No food, asked for our bill for drinks, no apologies , no eta, no timeline on when or if food was coming just told by someone who identified as leader looks like owner from previous reviews that " this is Mother's Day, you've only been waiting 58 minutes since your food was ordered, this is how it is in Silverton today." Server was terrible , no communication, no clarification or explanation other than "they are working on your food still after an hour." We had a reservation. A party of 4 & 2 was seated after us and received their food before us. The restaurant had multiple open tables , outside and inside not busy. When we were sat at our table we waited for 10 minutes before even being acknowledged by our server. "No greeting, - what do you want to order." "Not even a hey heads up the kitchen is running behind, slow on Mother's Day." Awful service, actually shocked having worked in the service industry the response by management. This was our favorite restaurant in Silverton, until our last visit! Although service has always been slow, (probably staffing issues) we didn't mind because the food was to die for, and the outdoor seating overlooking the river was beautiful, but upon visiting last time we noticed they changed their menu, most noticeably our favorite item the cowboy mac! What used to be a very generous serving of delicious mac and cheese, pork belly, cheese curds and bbq sauce, now is about 1/4 of the original size, and missing the pork belly but still the original price! We were so disappointed as it was one of the sole reasons we visited. All other items seemed to be smaller portions for the price of the previous larger portions as well. We might be back to try one more time, but I don't know if we can justify the prices when we know portion sizes are smaller. read more

Holy vegan options, Batman! So happy to find this place. Drinks were on point. The antique decor throughout was so tasteful and awesome. The staff was super friendly... despite my poor planning and running late for a movie and having to get the main course to go... smh.. And did I mention the vegan options!? We had the vegan parm fries with vegan aioli.. just wow... then to go, we had the "Plant Based Fried Chicken & Mac Sandwich" (which now has vegan bacon) and the "Earth to Mac". Despite shoving it in my face while running late for a movie, it was so so good. Next time, movie THEN dinner, we cam fully enjoy our food as intended.. Half-empty restaurant on a Saturday night. Seated immediately, but waited nearly an hour for our food (mac and cheese and a burger) after ordering. Still had not come out of the kitchen, so we left without eating. Entire staff appeared frazzled. Otherwise, nice decor and layout. Hopefully this was just a one-off for the kitchen staff. read more

This restaurant is the bomb!!! Hands down one of the best meals I've ever had. We had tacos that were the perfect chewy hand made type corn tortillas, the salmon on waffles, killer cocktails. The spices, the flavors, the combinations, you name it, soooo good! I worked in fine dining restaurants for years, and I have a hard time finding that kind of awesome quality meal for the price. They were really busy and the wait was long, so the waiter comped us free salads because we were so hungry! It's also right on the river. What more could you ask for. Wow, wow, wow. read more

A really pleasant atmosphere that is situated right along the water with beautiful hanging baskets. I had the house salad with salmon, which was cooked to perfection. The pickled onions were a really nice contrast, to the extent of not needing any dressing. Friendly service and a place to put on your list! Fantastic atmosphere and craft cocktails. Decided to try this place while staying at the Oregon Gardens for the weekend and was not disappointed. Ok, let's start with the positive. Cocktails were excellent (though a little ice heavy). The cauliflower bites were really good and we enjoyed the spice level. Cheese curds were also alright. Outdoor patio is great if you sit away from the road. So why the 3 stars? I ordered a harvest salad with salmon added on. They brought out the most comically large salad I've ever laid eyes on. Not sure who cooked my salmon but it was so dry it felt like they were trying to make jerky with it. The butternut squash was cut into cubes a giant might use to play dice. At the end of the meal, we burst out laughing when we poured the remaining salad into a takeaway box and it was still the size of a large restaurant salad after I'd been eating away at it for 45 minutes. My wife ordered the salmon entree. It was also overcooked but not quite as bad as mine. The dish was just too rich overall. Between the goat cheese on top, the potato waffles, the Brussels sprouts, and the sauce on the salmon, it felt like it needed something acidic to cut through the richness. There was a lemon wedge but it needed something more. The service was also very slow, but I don't think that was the server's fault. They should hire more people. The Noble Fox clearly knows how to make good flavors, but they need to refine the experience more to make it worth the price. read more

I took friends to celebrate at this new place. We were greeted and seated promptly in a nice table. 15 minutes later a server greeted us and took drink orders. The ambiance was fine. The place was clean and well decorated. 10 minutes after our order our drinks arrived. We ordered an app to share with the table - ticket time was 20+ minutes. When it was delivered we ordered our meals. Ticket time in excess of 20+ minutes. Now the food - I have lots of steak bite meals - this was the worst - the meat and potatoes arrived swimming in oil and tasted terrible. The salmon my guest ordered was overcooked. We paid and left the server a significant tip because we don't kill the messenger. We probably should have stayed with a drink and moved to a different place for our meal. read more
