Oaxaca Smoked Old Fashion

Great food! Nice ambience. Food and drinks came a little slow but we were seated outside by the water so all was good. The Oaxaca Smoked Old Fashion drink was amazing!

Looking for a meal the day before my total hip replacement, we landed at Noble Fox. For an afternoon meal, it hit the spot. I had the Sweet & Spicy Chicken Sandwich (crispy chicken, pepper honey, pickles, slaw, house aioli, burger bun) as well as some of the best seasoned fries I've ever had. Service was reasonable for the time of day we were there; the dining room was fairly empty at the time (middle of the afternoon) and we were able to quench our hunger satisfactorily. I think I might have to go back and try something else on their varied menu - like maybe the tacos!

Great food, awesome drinks and selection of whiskeys and atmosphere, but needs an air curtain over entrance door, Too many flies.

First time visit 2-28-24! Met amazing staff: Amelia, Katie, Zoe, & Matt!! Very professional and polite! We stated off with a Classic Mule & a Cinnamon Girl Mocktail for drink and Bacon Wrapped Dates!! Then we ordered the Caribbean Chicken Bowl off the menu! ALSO ADDED a new item not yet on the Menu a 12oz Steak over a bed of brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes!! (Thanks, Matt) We finished it off with a Salted Caramel Brownie for dessert!! The ambiance was delightful and romantic!! My Date was Gorgeous, and I enjoy every minute!! A Big Thanks to "The Noble Fox" for a wonderful evening!

We had a great lunch here today. Everyone enjoyed their drinks & food, and the vibe of the place was nice & relaxing. Great music, beautiful bar, and helpful servers. I had the mac & cheese which was great, and the fry I stop off my son's plate was notably delicious. I would definitely come back when we're in the area. Cheers to beautiful, tasty mocktails and while listening to "when you wish upon a star" in the middle of awesome silverton!

Spicy steak tacos

Food, drinks, service and ambiance were all amazing! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in town.

There are not a lot of other dining options in the area, so Fireside is a pretty easy choice. The food is just OK. Definitely stuff that is mass-produced and heated on-site. Prices are mercifully low, so one doesn't feel as though they've been ripped off. There is a big selection of non-alcoholic beverages, which I appreciated. The real standout here was the friendliness of the staff. Everybody I interacted with was very friendly and helpful. There was a band playing during my visit, and they seemed to be as "bar band" as bar bands get. I was the only person who applauded after each song, which was weird to me. I'd have hoped that staff, at least, would have applauded as well.

In the last couple of visits, though, it's different. My past history here prevents me from giving it a 2-star review. I know there has been a management change, and it shows. Some of my favorite staff have departed, seeking greener pastures. The reason for this review now is my most recent purchase ... a $17 glass of Pudding River Pinot Gris. When I found out the price as I cashed out, I felt robbed. I can drive less than 9 miles away and buy a whole bottle for $25. My previous glass of wine that evening was an $8 chardonnay from another local winery. I figured the Pinot Gris couldn't be much more than the Chard, especially one from Pudding River, which I've personally visited so I know their bottle prices. So, before you buy anything at the Fireside Lounge, ask the price. Don't be surprised (aka robbed) as I was.

We got here a bit early on the weekday at 2:50p. They open at three so we waited until they opened. They had some great lunch specials. I had the turkey club with a salad. It was good. I'd never seen tomatoes on a club before but it was good. They had a variety of drinks but we stuck to tea and soda as it was a work day. This looks like a great place for cocktails. Even when I tried to pay the second round, she told the bartender not to accept my payment. haha Even if I had paid, I would still like this place and their cocktails. It is a nice atmosphere, not too loud, comfortable seating, warm whimsical decorations, friendly service, and clean bathrooms. They have a large list of cocktails, mocktails and other non-alcoholic beverages, as well as beer and wine. They can make all the traditional cocktails. A regular told me the manhattan is top notch, but the cherries aren't the best he's seen. Cherry seemed alright to me. They also have several house cocktails and a few specials to choose from. Between us 4, we tried several different cocktails. We even tried the house cocktail designed for the bitterest of liqueurs, Jeppson's Malört. All were deemed tasty by all! They offer several food items from a full kitchen, including appetizers, sandwiches, salads, breakfast, and dinner. They even have veggie burger, gluten free crackers, and gluten free (GF) fried chicken! ! ! Free parking on the street. I don't even know where to start. Seriously. I enjoy writing a lovely 5-star review but this one…read moredeserves 500/5 stars! Seriously, one of my favorite restaurant experiences in YEARS! Yesterday took us to McMinnville for the Wonderland Brew Fest... after the festival, we decided to do a progressive dinner. Stop at every interesting restaurant on / near 3rd Street and eat until we were satisfied... Thistle threw a big ole wrench in our plans, and we are DELIHTED they did! After a not so great first restaurant experience, we happened upon Thistle at the recommendation of a friend. We decided to stop in for an appetizer and a drink. We were immediately greeted by a lovely man named Patrick who was so friendly and accommodated us at a lovely table in the center dining room. Round #1 of drinks was ordered with the Gnocchi and Duck Liver Mousse. Good. LORDT. We were smitten at sip and bite #1. After the first round, we settled into having a second round before heading out... next thing you know, a Pork Confit hit our table. OUT OF THIS WORLD. The talent of this chef is beyond words. Our planned 45 minute stop turned into a whole evening. The drinks were absolutely out of this world. The food was ridiculously good. Truly, the absolute best restaurant in all of McMinnville. To the chef, John Thomas IV and the owner, Patrick, THANK YOU! You truly too an average Saturday evening into one of our favorite trips to McMinnville of all times. We raved and sang the praises of our experience to all our friends this morning at brunch. Our one evening alone will guarantee our return many many times in the future. If you're from McMinnville and haven't tried Thistle yet, do it! If you're visiting, stop searching for your dinner destination and call for your reservation now. Absolutely our best McMinnville dinner, ever!

As foodies we'd found the food in the area to be a bit underwhelming, but that changed the moment we stepped into Thistle. We ended up ordering almost everything on the menu because each dish sounded simply irresistible. Sadly, no photos to add with this review because we were so caught up in the moment enjoying ourselves and our meal that we forgot our phones existed. My husband and I keep a log of our top 10 restaurants across the world, and Thistle absolutely earned a spot on that list. Compliments to the owner, chef and team for an exceptional experience!

The long communal tables were a welcome sight - lots of space to meet up with lots of friends - as well as the tidy reading nooks and smaller tables for a more individualized experience. Upon arrival, there's a sign that says to check in at the counter for service - which I did and was promptly handed a menu and told to find a place to sit and she'd come find me to take my order. The place was not crowded by any means so I chose one location to sit, changed my mind and chose another location and then changed my mind and moved again before settling on one end of one of those long tables. So many seating choices!! The staff member got busy and didn't make it back to me for a bit longer than I thought she should have taken but when she eventually found me, I ordered one of their seasonal espresso drinks: a Harlequin Rex (white chocolate, dark chocolate & caramel), and a Maid Marion crepe (marionberry jam, cream cheese, crushed pistachios & honey). The crepe arrived well ahead of the espresso drink but I waited to take a bite of the crepe till they both were at the table because I wanted a pic of them together - you know, priorities and all. That crepe was absolutely delicious - the perfect combination of tastes! And that espresso drink - spot on! Chocolate and caramel - what could go wrong there? Absolutely nothing. On the day I was there, it seems a pop-up jewelry vendor was there as well (or maybe the jewelry is a permanent feature? I don't know.). There was no space at the counter to sign my debit card receipt so I used the seat of the stool next to the register area, which worked just fine, but maybe it would be possible to keep an area clear for conducting the business of paying, since table payment is not an option (little sign attached to the playing cards that indicated your table number said to go to the counter to settle up). Or perhaps hand the receipts attached to a small clipboard or hard surface of some kind to make signing easier. Just seemed a bit crowded and cluttered at the counter. Overall, I think they're a great addition to downtown Silverton and hope to go back again to try something else on their yummy-looking menu. After they're able to work out the kinks of being a new business (they've been open 4 months), I hope they'll be in Silverton for a long time. PS. For those of us who like to read menus online, check out the back-story of a business, or locate other business info online, their website is currently not functioning. I contacted them through their FB page and they responded quickly but the message was that they are too busy to work on their website. Hopefully, they'll be able to get a minute or two to at least post a "website under construction, please check back soon" message for those of us who like to cruise websites, or maybe take down the web address on their FB page so we don't click on it only to be disappointed that nothing exists.
