I was visiting from out of town, and my sister was showing us some highlights and restaurants that looked appealing in the small towns around her. That led us to the Noble Fox. It has a very pleasing ambience in the interior, with blue walls, chandeliers, and dark wood. On the patio, there are umbrella tables over a creek and hanging flowers. This was a very hot day. We started outside, and there was only one table available in the direct sun. As soon as people left, we shifted to another table that had umbrella shade. It continued to get hotter, and we continued to wait for service and our orders. We eventually asked to sit indoors, as we did not expect the meal to take this long, and we were near 100 degrees outside. Third table, same glasses of water, and still no food. We waited over an hour for 3 very simple meals: a hamburger, a salad, and a wrap sandwich. We were starving by then. The waitresses did not come by to check on us, refill glasses, offer bread or anything else that could sate our hunger while we waited. They told us only one chef was in. There were approximately 3 tables filled indoors, and about 7 tables filled outdoors. That might be a bit much to handle for a non-chef, but for a restaurant to take over an hour to fill that many orders of fairly simple fare, seems like they are overwhelmed. Meanwhile, there were 3 to 4 waitresses staying inside, standing behind the bar, with one occasionally going over with a drying cloth to some glasses, but essentially standing around doing nothing. They kept taking in more customers, and did not tell anyone that the wait would be extremely long. Nor did the 3 or 4 workers go to the kitchen to offer to help prep any meals, put together some of the simple parts, like berries on lettuce, or condiments on a burger. They stayed away from most customers, and did nothing to improve their experience. This restaurant could be a very nice experience, if they would staff correctly, take care of their customers, and get the meals out much, much more quickly. For now, I would not recommend for anyone to go there, unless you are looking for a cool place to sit for a long time. read more

The steak bites were tasty and worth the additional $8. However the Mac itself was bland and needed A-LOT of salt and pepper to make up for the flavor. It sounds like the owner makes up excuses every time someone complains about wait time, but it looks like the business owner needs to find a new carrier if his waiters take over an hour to bring water. Oh, not to mention it sounds like they run out of everything including milk, which again, is on the part of poor management. We visited with a group of 8 on Wednesday evening the 21st and we were disappointed start to finish. We were ok waiting to get in but then after ordering we waited 1 hr 15 min for our food even though the dining room was empty by then. We're not sure what happened in the kitchen to cause the delay but the quality of the food suffered tremendously and the staff's reaction to our wait was that of indifference. Not a really big menu when I went during lunch. I had the salmon tacos which were absolutely amazing. I mean I was absolutely shocked at the size and portion along with the flavor profile and sauce. My drink was just ok. I would like to check them out for dinner as well as try some different craft cocktails and maybe some whiskey. The bar is really cool. Went here a couple nights ago before seeing the lights at the Oregon garden. Lovely wooden furniture reminiscent of an old saloon. But the food was terrible- so salty it was practically inedible. I had salmon- dry and salty that I could eat if I added rice to it. The roasted Brussels sprouts were too salty to eat. My husband had a Peru bowl with very dry chicken. I debated leaving this review as I don't want to beat up a place for having a bad night but management was non-existent. Showed up at about 6:15pm, was told a 5 minute wait, 30 minutes later still waiting, asked the hostess if we could order drinks, yes! So we do. Wait 10 more minutes and are seated. Wait 20 more minutes for our drinks to arrive. Keep in mind we were there with a 6 year old and our dog. If our food is going to take another 45 minutes after being there an hour and you see we have a young child, say something! Didn't see or hear from one manager. Long story short, we were there over 2 hours, no real apologies, no discount, no nothing. Everyone there was frustrated. Also my food (fried chicken sliders with mac) was warm, not hot, and the mac was not seasoned at all...so bland. Leaving 2 stars instead of 1 because the servers and staff were actually nice even though they were in the weeds. They kept seating tables the entire time; management (?) should have staggered tables to let staff catch up. If I owned this place, I would want to know this which is why I'm posting this. Maybe we hit TNF on an "off" Sunday afternoon, but I was disappointed in the overall experience. We waited at the host station for minutes before anyone even greeted us. Once greeted, we decided to head to the nice deck out back and sat at a table with an umbrella, but unfortunately there wasn't much shade, as they can use more umbrellas or an awning to keep customers from roasting on a sunny day back there! For example, two other groups came out to an adjacent, partially-shaded table with no umbrella next to ours, and promptly high-tailed it inside. I ordered a craft beer and my wife ordered a margarita, they were both good, but took an unusually long time to arrive. I ordered the Southwest Wrap, sans meat or plant-based chicken, which arrived after a surprisingly long time. My wife asked twice for ketchup, which never materialized before we finished our plates (do we see a pattern here?) The food presentation was appealing, but my wrap was so cayenne-spiced that I opted not to eat the second half (and I generally like chili seasoned dishes!) It would have been much better with less chili or a nice cilantro lime aioli to tone it down. The Nobel Fox seems to be a popular place, it's well-appointed, and I hope our experience was atypical. It certainly has potential to do better. For now, though, I'm not inclined to return. read more

The Noble Burger w/ house salad and large side of Pommes fries was quite delicious and reasonably priced. The only major draw back was the large amount of truffle butter that did soggy down the fries a bit. Such promise and such a dismal failure. The view on the patio overlooking a creek is very pretty. They had gorgeous hanging baskets of flowers. But that is where my praise ends. We waited over an hour for a salad, a hamburger, and a sandwich wrap. During that time, three waitresses ran around doing absolutely nothing. They didn't check on us. They didn't refill water, they didn't offer a drink or bread while we waited. They judiciously avoided eye contact and we were served our food almost 90 minutes after sitting down to a very simple lunch. I will never go back. read more

The food is absolutely delicious, but unfortunately, the service is way too slow. It took us quite a while to be checked on after we were seated, and then our wine glasses probably took another 15 minutes. Another half hour or so for the meal. We sat outside on the balcony, which is nice, but the umbrellas do not protect from the late afternoon sun when one is sitting, waiting for food for very long periods of time. There seem to be plenty of staff, so I'm not sure why Service was so slow. In any event, we are looking forward to trying a meal here again in hopes that they will figure this out. read more

I really like the fries here. The burger was ok, the macaroni inside the burger was on the tasteless side. A burger was $20. I believe they want you to think you're paying for the atmosphere. The place is decorated with nice furniture and there's an option to dine outside on the balcony with a river view. But reality is, indoors there's a ton of flies flying all over the place. The insect infestation makes the place look like a flea market in a Tijuana, Mexico. Service was a little slower than promised. They told me my food would be ready in 15 minutes. The food menu is unique and has a variety of options! Everything was delicious, very clean, and the staff was super sweet. This place has been highly raved by others in town and I can see why. The Bacon Wrapped Dates are so tasty and something I've never had before. The Charcuterie Board was delicious and very aesthetically pleasing. So happy we found this place. Called on a Monday and found out they were open and also had patio dining. Once we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find out they have Happy Hour menu all day on Mondays! The food was delicious, I had the Pork Belly Lettuce Cups--very tasty and the pork belly was probably the best I've had. I think my husband had the Short Rib Sliders. He also commented that these were the best sliders he's ever had. I'd give it five stars for a little bigger menu. You do have to pay for parking meters out front. There isn't an app for that in Silverton and we had no cash. But, Jeramie gave us two quarters to get us an hour. I also had a Painkiller (tasty rum drink from The BVI). We will be back. read more

Had three apps: cauliflower, brussel sprouts, and chef's fries. They were all incredible! Everyone was raving about the brussels as the fav. Sandwiches and burgers were all super delicious and fries and fry sauce were fantastic! Portions were very generous and appreciated after the long hike. Very nice drink menu. Service was top notch! We had a group of eight and they didn't even blink. Highly recommend this also for vegetarians as they have beyond burgers and veggie chicken to sub for burgers and sandwiches. I want to give a shout out to The Noble Fox which recently opened in the old Standing Stone location. I live in Ashland and was really missing Standing Stone. It is so great that The Noble Fox also has an excellent, and afforable, bistro menu and has captured the same comfortable indoor and outdoor ambience. The food is delicious and much more adventurous than its predecessor's. The staff is so nice. The chef himself came out from his kitchen to ask us if we were enjoying our meal. We were wowed by the personal attention. I'm rooting for this wonderful addition to the Ashland dining scene. Try it. You'll love it! read more

Very unimpressed. In Silverton for the weekend. We decided on The Noble Fox the prior night. We arrived for dinner and were seated promptly. The place is pretty clean and well decorated. My first drink had so much ice it spilled on my lap, the table and floor. Trying to be fair I figured they were busy. After placing an order for appetizers and dinner we waited a bit and flagged down the waitress after she had been by our table multiple times. Ordered another round and asked for less ice so we could actually at least stir the small amount of liquid that was in our cups. Second round took a while but the place was busy and there was only one bartender. Again so much ice in my cup I can't even add a lime wedge and stir. Asked to please get some ice removed. After almost an hour our meals came out and still no appetizer. Asked for that to be removed since we didn't get it. The final issue was my husband's order was wrong. The waitress may have been new, she didn't seem to know what she was doing. We declined free desert. The manager did at least comp the incorrect meal. My burger was not great. Edible, but tasted like char. We should have just ate at the Oregon Garden Lounge again. :( read more
