The other two items, the beef wrap was tasteless, beef didn't taste seasoned, kind of gristly, little cheese, lots of lettuce and patty melt was on thin wheat bread. I could make better at home. Really hungry after a hike in Silver Falls State Park. My husband and I stopped there for lunch. Not fancy but I swear it was the best grilled chicken sandwich I've had. I ordered the chicken avocado bacon club. The chicken was so tender I hardly had to chew. I also got the spicy (waffle) fries and those were done perfectly!! I couldn't finish them because there were just more than I could take in. My husband had your basic cheeseburger and fries and said they were very good. I would have given this place a 4/5, but it got an extra star for on reason: Their jam caddy came with FOUR flavors, all of witch were stacked in their own quadrant all the way to the top. All too often these caddies are stacked with the modern the abomination that is grape jelly, with only one strawberry and nothing else. Not here. This restaurant had the decency and respect to offer an equal amount of four jam choices (even if one of them is evil and should never be chosen by anyone). We stopped in on a Friday night around 7:00 with high hopes, based on yelp reviews, and what we found was average food that was appropriately priced for the quality of the ingredients. It's a cute little place, and the owners very nice, but I can only give 3 stars. The best positive I can bring from this experience is the fries. Despite being pre-packaged and frozen crinkle-cut fries, they were prepared perfectly -- crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. Unfortunately that pre-frozen / processed / pre-packaged aspect of the food seemed to be a common theme, with frozen, flavorless, match-stick hash browns served with breakfasts, and processed 'American' cheese on the burgers, My BBQ patty melt had pretty good flavor, but my wife and son found the exterior of their burgers to have a lot of excess charred flavor, like the grill needs to be cleaned. My daughter also thought the bacon was extra greasy. I think we are spoiled by the number of really good diner-style restaurants in our area, and therefore we were left a little disappointed, even if the price-point of Water Mountain is considerably lower than those establishments. To me, the others are worth the extra cost. read more

Great food for the money! We just moved nearby and tried it for lunch. Wife's Reuben ($6) was good; included fries only ok. My cheeseburger was a steal at $4. Not gourmet, of course, but cooked properly (i.e., not overdone) and came with lettuce and tomato! AND it came with a decent basic salad and good dressing. FOR FOUR BUCKS!! Outdoor seating was nice since we brought our dog. Inside was basic, but new and clean. Menu was surprisingly large. I'll be back for sure. read more

Wonderful little country find on the way out of Silverton heading to the park. It must open at 9 am, though because we went back the next day for breakfast at 7:30 and it was closed. Still closed when we drove by at 8:45. $5.00 burger and fries. In fact I think everything on the menu was $5. It wasn't organic, free range, vegetarian food, but it was fresh and tasty and that price can't be beat!!! Willing to bet they are open more seasonally. We will go back!!! read more

You can't get a better deal for food anywhere else. We came to Silverton on our anniversary and didn't want to hit one of the two places we had already visited in town so hit this place up based on good reviews. I was very surprised both with the low prices and the great food. Call it what you want but this place has very good food. The service was great both times we went with the waiter or waitress asking if the food was okay or if we needed things constantly. The environment is rather flat with one large room and plenty of seating. I will say that its clean, the tables are clean the silverware clean and the walls freshly painted and nice pictures throughout. This is a jewel to Silverton that I would hope more people try to visit. I was able to have drinks and dinner for my wife and I for less then $20 with a tip. This is a rarity anywhere else we seem to go. read more

I grew up in Silverton and live in Salem, but had not heard of this place. My husband, who is an import from Illinois, took me to Silver Falls a couple weekends ago and surprised me by finding Water Mountain. It is VERY small, so grab a table when you can find one! The meals are not too big (but not too small either!) and extremely inexpensive for the quality! It's hearty food: eggs, bacon, etc. I got corned beef hash and my husband got a barbecue patty melt. This jewel is located near the reservoir & on your first leg of a beautiful trip to Silver Falls. "Quick, fast & good" per my pals. Quaint, clean, friendly, affordable, excellent service and locals should take advantage of the take-out available. Great comfort food! A first time visitor will become a regular & hopefully take advantage of the cool atmosphere by bringing friends on their many returns. Well worth the extra mile past town, bypassing some of the local eateries like Mac's "the dive" or Home Place "super snooty". The workers appear to be genuinely sweet & accommodating.
