I highly recommend Baron Patisserie, but recommend getting there right at opening for best selection, or calling ahead to order before you go.

It looks like it has opened up a little bit more than last time and doesn't feel too crowded anymore. The desserts are so delicious and it's fun to try new things on the menu. I've been here a couple times only for dessert. The Mango Tango is always a safe choice if you like tropical desserts, the dark chocolate mousse was delicious as well and not overly sweet. When adding drinks to our order, the lone man working there asked me a few times whether I really was ordering coffee for a child (and yes, she settled on a mocha when it was determined he only knew how to sprinkle matcha powder on the pancakes, and hadn't a clue as to their application to drinks). My grandson ordered their 'special hot chocolate' which pretty much tasted like watered-down Ovaltine. We sat outside to eat and after a few bites and finding these were nothing like the fluffy Japanese pancakes they'd expected, we threw away $44 worth of what was supposed to be a pleasant breakfast experience. I guess this was a life lesson for the kids, that our expectations aren't always met. And I want to prevent any other adults from making the same mistake I did in taking my business there!

Turns out it's just around the corner from Zupan's (and I later learned they have multiple locations). We were so glad we made the trip! The donuts are incredible. They're not your average donuts--light, flavorful, and just different in the best way. We tried the seasonal Strawberry Shortcake donut and a maple donut, and both were delicious. We also picked up a Strawberry Shortcake cupcake and four different flavors of their puff pastry Pop-Tarts. Let's just say...they didn't last long. We devoured every single one. Service was good throughout our visit. I ordered the IPA Bacon Cheeseburger, which came (over)loaded with lots of fresh vegetables, a large burger patty, and the IPA mustard sauce. I don't want to complain about a burger being piled high with bacon, pickles, and fresh onions, lettuce, & tomatoes; but it was difficult to eat. While the Challah bun was delicious, it was woefully undersized for the task of holding it all together. I enjoyed it, but felt the IPA sauce was lost in the midst of everything else, and I also thought the burger patty was under-seasoned. I ordered fries as a side, and unfortunately they were the "battered" variety, which I just don't enjoy. Restaurants -- please, just serve normal French fries, without any batter on them! We knew from past experience that baked goods and desserts are really what La Provence is good at, so we ordered Tiramisu for dessert. Their very non-traditional take on this Italian classic would probably some people uneasy, but it was delicious.
