I had a really great experience at this small cafe/bakery! All the staff I interacted with were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable about their products. I ended up trying a BBQ pork kolache and Thai chicken salad. The kolache bun was great with a sweet and yeasty bread surrounding sweet and savory pork with barbecue sauce. I loved the salad - the flavor of the dressing was phenomenal. I also bought an iced chai with an added espresso shot - this was pretty standard but nothing to write home about. They also had a tiny cupcake as a sample when I came in which was a very fun surprise. Overall I don't have any complaints - I wasn't sure what the ambiance would be like but I would say this is more bakery/quick sit down then 'coffee shop' so while it had plenty of seating I probably wouldn't come here to work/read or hang out for a very extended length of time but would be perfect for a quick lunch, pick me up, or sweet treat :) read more

This couldn't have been better. We were going to be visiting from out of town on my wife's birthday and ordered this cake online and sight unseen. Chocolate cake, chocolate filling, chocolate frosting (yes, my wife is a chocoholic). Moist cake, great filling and the frosting was so thick and fudge like that they should just package it as candy. This is for takeout cupcakes only. My husband had an errand to run nearby and stopped to get me cupcakes for my birthday. We had the carrot cake, banana caramel, and coconut cupcakes. I don't usually like bakery cupcakes, but these were delicious on the day purchased and the day after. Still too sweet, which is my complaint about most bakeries, but the cakes had great texture and flavor (I just removed 1/2 the frosting). They're expensive, but at least they were good. read more

This place had a great atmosphere on the late morning I stopped by. The display cases were all filled and glowing with light. The kitchen was busy, but I was the only customer at that time and was greeted quickly. Service was very friendly, and it seemed like the first treats of the day had recently been stocked. And there was a lot to choose from! I asked the person taking my order what they would recommend, and from that and my own decisions, I left with quite the haul. I picked a pumpkin bar, two large cookies (one molasses spice and one Butterfinger), and three kolaches: sausage and gravy, cheeseburger, and apple crumble. Kolaches are a sweet, yeast type of roll filled with either sweet or savory offerings. My savory selections sounded unusual, but good. I was very pleasantly surprised! All of my goodies were delicious and fresh-tasting. The pumpkin bar was rich and creamy, with good pumpkin flavor and a great crust. Both cookies were yummy, soft and fresh. The kolaches were standouts. The dough was flavorful and had a great, chewy yet tender texture, and the fillings really captured the essence of each flavor's inspiration. The cheeseburger one had ground beef, cheese and little bits of pickle. It really worked well together! The apple one was a sweet delight and the sausage and gravy kolache was like biscuits and gravy in a yeasty package. The kolaches were quite large, I split all three of mine with a friend, and was very satisfied. All the selections were memorable, nothing was a miss here! I am not much of a coffee person, but it looks as if they offer a wide selection of coffee and other drinks, as well as soups and salads. Lots of cupcakes are available as well. Highly disappointed with the chocolate macarons, they tasted old & rancid, the chocolate filling was overly sweet. Also- mint macarons were on top of the chocolate macarons, and mint flavor penetrated to the chocolate, it was very overpowering. The customer service wasn't there. We were staying nearby for the night and this place was within walking distance. We were super happy to see that this bakery was open beyond 2pm and they had some savory items. We got wraps and soups and a peanut butter cookie and cinnamon roll. Everything was so yummy. I have never even heard of a kolache. Next time we're in town, we'll definitely be back for more. Cons: the staff asked me if I had a card where they hole punch and I said yes. As I handed it to her, she said oh they couldnt punch it today because it was Tuesday. I had said oh that doesnt make any sense and I suggested that they put that on the card so people would know. The owner ends up walkin into the store and over hearing the convo and says well we can charge you full price for the cupcake so thst I could get the punch And I said no. However, I did suggest that they put it on the card so people would know. Simple suggestion. The manager then proceeds to make unnecessary slights while walking out the door by saying most people would know that you cant get a discount on a discount. I told her that was unnecessary to say and that she was making the experience bad. She kept goin on and on to the point where the staff had to apologize to me on her behalf. Greeted me with a smile. She was happy to see. Whoa super cool vibes in this place. We chatted for a bit. I told her where I was from and how I found her by accident. I was so happy I did! So I had to bring back two different kinds. She had all kind cool flavors that paired well together but different then I had seen before. I tried a lemon Cupcake with a coconut buttercream. I also grabbed one of her best sellers Chocolate Cupcake with Peanut butter cups and frosting! Oh my my my! They looked very nice. Her packaging was good. The box held up very nicely for my mini road trip back home. When I actually got back home I had to try at least one that night. The Lemon one. Amazing. The shop offered varieties of cupcakes, cookies from the jar, kolaches, they also had hot cocoa bombs, and many more goodies to choose from. I got sausage & jalapeños and brisket kolaches. I didn't enjoy the sausage & jalapeños kolaches due to a strange smell of the bun. The brisket kolaches was decent. Didn't enjoy the cookies as much as I'd like. The cookies was too much flour and tasted off, possibly the used of white sugar and baking powder. Although the cupcakes were delicious. It wasn't overly sweet. Service was decent. Quaint, clean, "sweet" little cafe. Oh my gosh what a fabulous little gem! I had the most amazing berry, chicken salad! Tons of fresh berries, blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, chopped nuts, blue cheese crumbles, plenty of flavorful chicken, crisp greens and a delicious berry vinaigrette ...all so fresh and delicious! The cafe is small but bright & clean. I didn't try any of the baked good this time but they sure smelled and looked great! I didn't catch my servers name, sweet gal with very short blonde hair, and when she handed me my to-go bag she said it was served with a little extra love and darned if I didn't have an incredible little herbed, garlic bread knot of some sort when I got back to my hotel room! I caught wind of these tasty morsels called kolaches recently and low and behold, they were located right across the street from my work!! Looking for a quick, easy, and inexpensive meal on my lunch break, I gave them a try. My only complaint was that I couldn't try them all. Lol. A kolache is a sweetened yeast roll filled with sweet or savory goodness, and along with the standard flavors, every day they have a special flavor or two. I tried the BBQ Brisket and the Chicken Verde. Both delicious!! The lunch special came with both kolaches, a side (homemade potato salad with bacon), and a drink for $10! I saved half of each to share when I got home, and was plenty full. I even went back the next morning for a breakfast kolache, ham, egg, and cheese, and it did not fail to impress. I also tried the Cobb salad in a wrap for $9 and wow!! They do a great job on all of their food. You can taste the love. The sweet treats were taunting me the whole time I was there, as they look and smell amazing, but I haven't had a chance to try them yet. This might not be a place you think of to grab a quick lunch, but there was no line, the servers were friendly and offered their suggestion when I couldn't decide, and seemed to genuinely care about me as a customer. I asked him 2 times if the cookie I was buying had any almond extract in it- he assured me that it didn't, that it was just a sugar cookie with vanilla buttercream. I bought it (along with a chocolate chip cookie, and a cinnamon roll). We just tried the vanilla sugar cookie- and it is ALMOND extract!!! It's now in the garbage. I'm very disappointed in this bakery for using almond extract and not telling the employees. The chocolate chip seemed stale- it also ended up in the trash. Birthday girl sadly disappointed! My mom ordered a custom birthday cake two weeks prior to the event and the communication skills of staff and the owner were horrible. With much back and forth via email , in person, and over the phone we finally got a response from Christine the owner. The order was a 18' lemon cake with lemon curd and raspberry buttercream frosting. The cake was taken out of the fridge ahead of time to warm up to cut like advised. When I cut into the cake we all saw and tasted that the cake was under cooked and wet in the middle and the lemon curd was jelly like not the correct consistency, also the frosting was super stiff and sweet. The cake didn't taste at all like the flavors we asked for just super sugary. It was inedible and more than half of the cake went into the garbage. We thought we could trust and rely on Sweetly Baked and the owner Christine to do a professional job. The cup cakes were what made us decide to go with them unfortunately they were misleading. my self, family and friends will not use Sweetly Baked ever again. At $95.00 paid up front I expect the cake to not only look good but taste good. Christine the owner/baker needs to go back to school and learn how to properly bake! Show some pride in your work. There was no love put into it and frankly I would be embarrassed to deliver such a product to the customer. Ambiance,it is generally clean but they touched the cup cakes with out gloves when serving. We had to call them the day of pick up ourselves to find out when to come in because they never called us. When we picked up the cake it was Placed in the public dining area unattended and in a box half covered. Staff is unorganized lack good customer service. read more
