The team was super friendly. I messaged a few days prior to pick up as I was coming from out of town and wanted to get an assortment of cupcakes for my girlfriends birthday. The staff was prompt in responses and provided a full menu I could pre order from (though my order was small enough that it wasn't required). I ended up picking up my cupcakes a few hours early and to my surprise they were ready! The cupcakes themselves were wonderful. Not these huge cupcakes that you see other speciality cupcake bakeries creating. These were classic size with wonderful flavors, some even completely reimagined. When I arrived for pick up I saw they had a new, special flavor- S'mores. I had to grab one of those too and I'm glad I did as it was the best cupcake of the assortment which a nice marshmallow surprise in the middle of the cupcake! Oh man, definitely worth the drive and worth the costs. I'd highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the area. Luckily the shop is in a pretty nice area of Salem so you could even make a few hours of it and check out some of the other shops in the area. read more

Came in last minute because the previous person making the cupcakes and cake for my wedding canceled. Brandy was fantastic in meeting my vision and giving me options for everything. Unfortunately, the cupcakes were so good that there were no leftovers and I didn't get to try any :( Everyone was shocked at how good the cupcakes were and loved them! read more

I originally emailed and after receiving a response ~a week later, I learned texting or calling were preferable means of communication. No concern there just an fyi if you send an email inquiry. Brandy worked with my request, yellow Minnie cake for my three year old and the cake was beautiful. I wish the yellow was more vibrant, but that's a minor critique. The only really issue was that the cake was dry and lacked flavor. It's a real shame it doesn't taste as good as it looks. Picked up Saturday afternoon for Sunday birthday. read more

I have always made my kids gluten free birthday cakes and cupcakes without fail, but I've had an extremely busy week. I was on a mission to pick up one of my teens at the airport yesterday who was returning from college out of state. I just didn't have the time. The day before the trip I called in the order of 12 cupcakes- 6 chocolate and six vanilla for my oldest kids big 21. Yes, I've been baking for all three of my kid's birthdays for that long. These cupcakes were beautiful and she even surprised me with something I'd wondered about on the vanilla cupcakes. Thank you for that little surprise! So we all finally got home together late last night for the first time in many months, and enjoyed presents and cupcakes. They were perfect and everyone loved them. I asked my son if color would have mattered- he said nope- as long as the cupcake was good he would have eaten any color of frosting. They were amazing- Thank you for allowing us to share in a sweet food for a special moment together! Thank you for going out of your way to do more than you needed to just because I asked a question. read more

Everyone who says the pistachio cupcake is awesome are 100% accurate. It seems to sell out fast but the other cupcakes are also very delicious. They are always fresh with just the right amount of moistness. And like any other place doing business, it's nice when you walk in and they seem happy to have a customer in the store buying something. Always great attitude from whomever is behind the counter and I always feeling like I am pampering myself when taking a cupcake home as a treat. Great little place, lucky to have it downtown. read more

I ordered 50 assorted cupcakes for a birthday party. After two solid days of prep I completely forgot to pick up the cupcakes by 5:00 pm. Brandy called twice to get a hold of me. I picked up the second time at 6:30 and rushed to pick them up. I can't thank them enough for offering me grace in getting there late. They closed at 5:00 but waited for me to pick up the cupcakes. The assorted cupcakes were the absolute star of the party! They were all so so delicious - I can't even say what one was the best because they were all moist, interesting and beautiful. Such an amazing assortment and so so much gratitude for 1. Calling me multiple times on the pick up 2. Walking them to my car 3. For providing such an amazing damn cupcake. Everyone wanted to know where they were from. Thank you! read more

Friendly staff and tasty desserts. Recommended for a quick treat or a larger order for an event.

Ever eat something so good you can't stop thinking about it? Like falling in love? That's the pistachio cupcake at Brandy's. The frosting is such a delectable consistency, pudding like in flavor yet firm enough to keep its perfect shape. If I were getting married all over again I'd order these- they're that good. read more

Good little spot to grab a cupcake. Ran in for something sweet. The selection was small, but had nice variety.

Super cute and tiny little shop of yummy goodness!! I had a chocolate cupcake and a cookie. I meant to take a photo of both, but I gobbled my cupcake and ate the frosting off. Oops. It was just so good, the frosting was sweet, but not too sweet. The cake was soft and not too dry or too (sorry) moist. Very satisfied! Will definitely return to try more flavors. I also saw they have coffee and flavored RedBulls. My cookie was also fantastic and cute. Buttery sugar cookie with a frosting that was not overly sweet, but still had great flavor. It can get a little pricey, but this is obviously a small business so I don't mind. The owner, I believe, was in when I went and she was decorating cookies and they looked AMAZING. Very cute Valentine's theme, I wanted to eat the whole tray. read more

I ordered cupcakes ahead for my birthday, and just like the knave of hearts, it seems the delivery person apparently wasn't able to resist. The first dozen was reported "delivered," but wasn't. With guests waiting. Brandy jumped right in to replace my order and we had another dozen within a half hour--and they were delicious! Can't recommend Brandy's baking and attentive customer service highly enough! Salem is lucky to have her. read more
