I went to the salon today. I don't know the name of the staff member who helped me -- she's a woman with short blonde hair. My English isn't very good, but she was very kind and gave great service. I brought my own nail design, and she did it beautifully. I really love how it turned out! After finishing, she even gave me a massage and used a warm towel -- it felt so relaxing. I'll definitely come back again!

I've been coming to the nail suite for a few years. I like how calm and clean it is inside. No overwhelming fines. No massage chairs, but that's an okay trade-off for me. Emily is amazing with the GelX (Amy's done my nails and is also fantastic). Now I bring one of my daughters who loves Emily, too. Note: There is no public parking in the lot in front of the salon. Spots are reserved for tenants (most are residents). Pay by Venmo and tip the individual technician via Venmo. Also, best to make appointments ahead of time. Easy online!

This was the beyond disappointing. When I showed Amy the picture of the tortoiseshell french manicure I wanted, she confidently confirmed she could replicate the design. The colors were *so* off, I had to ask her to just give me a plain brown french manicure. If she didn't have the correct colors in stock, that would have been fine! I would have picked a different design. Instead, I had to start over 1+ hours in. To top it off, when my nails were almost done I was told she could not give me the pedicure I had an appointment for, as the salon's water wasn't working for some reason. Such a let down and overpriced for a subpar manicure at best.

Lovely little nail salon. Cute ambience, everything clean (way cleaner than other Berkeley places), professional and gentle nail techs. Happy to have found my new go-to!!!

I have been coming to the Nail Suite for the last year or so, so I was super sad to move away in the summer because Emily and Bin are MY GIRLS. They take their time and pay attention to all of the little details to ensure your hands/feet are looking their best. But now I'm back and see that the Nail Suite team has grown significantly. The Nail Suite always delivers - whenever I come in with a design in mind, they will figure it out and make sure to have my buy-in before continuing on the rest of the nails. Honestly wish I took more photos so I could show you exactly how they deliver every time. Generally, my gel manis can last at least 2 weeks before any lifting starts to happen. They can make color pairing recommendations for you as well! The salon itself is small and they only take a limited number of clients at one time. I think this makes for a cozy experience compared to other salons that pump out mani/pedis en masse. Pedicures are done in a private room in the back with a cushy armchair. It's a really nice experience and I love it. A few things to note: - You can easily make an appointment online or through the phone. - They are located in a small plaza but that parking lot is reserved for residents so you will need to find street parking. - Yes, they are a little pricier than other spots but I think you pay for what you get. - Tip via cash or venmo

Today was my first time at The Nail Suite, the experience was amazing. Amy was my nail technician and I booked a full Gel X extension set with gel polish. Her precision to detail was top of the line. The shape was perfect and exactly like the picture I showed her. She was on time for my appointment and was very gentle with me. It took about 1 hour and I'm grateful for the extra time she spent with me. The salon is very clean and has a welcoming and calm energy inside. As someone who gets anxiety in social places I really appreciated this. I've been getting Acrylic nails since I was 19. The damage hasn't been worth it and I'm glad to have found someone who cares about healthy nails and I've heard Gel-X is a better alternative. After so many years of going to several different nail salons and not receiving good service I'm shocked by the difference I found going to the Nail Suite. It was such an enjoyable, relaxed experience and I felt pampered. I received several compliments on my nails minutes after leaving the salon. I will not going anywhere else from now on. The price was higher but honestly I'm Ok with that! I rather pay for a high quality experience since I only get my nails done on occasion. Thank you Amy for the amazing service.

Amy was amazing. I booked a Gel X appointment with nail art using their square system - this is the best way to book, you can see who your appointment is with and book yourself a spot vice calling Amy was right on time and is such a perfectionist, she always checks her work and ensures all of the products cured. She double, triple checks shapes and makes the tiniest corrections to make the nails as perfect as possible. I came in wanting nails in theme of BLACKPINK, while it's always recommended to come in with a solid idea of what designs you want, I was unsure. Amy was super patient with me and helped me decide on what to do. Her nail prep was immaculate and it was fascinating watching her draw my French nails. The salon is super nice, there's no acrylic smell - it's just overall healthier and that makes me happy to support a salon moving in this direction. Definitely give The Nail Suite a shot, loved my set. Parking - give yourself enough to find street parking, I found it pretty fast, do not park in the lot right outside the shop as it is all residential parking.

Fantastic! Emily is an impeccable manicurist that pays exceptional attention to detail. Entering the salon you are not hit with the pungent scent of chemicals. The extremely clean salon is modern and offers a comfortable vibe. So comfortable, I was falling asleep while getting my pedicure. After I left the pedicure room I went back to the front for my manicure. Emily gave me the most thorough manicure I have ever received. She was constantly using her tools to remove slight imperfections, and running her fingers over the polished nails after each cycle under the curing light to ensure my nails where smooth. I like that the nail designs are simple and minimalistic. These sort of designs tend to look better on my shorter nails. Parking can be challenging in the area, but a couple of times around the block should do the trick.

I wish I could give Emily and The Nail Suite 10 stars! I'm so happy I found this nail salon and Emily. She is a fab nail artist (love the color she recommended for manicure) and small business owner. I visited this nail salon for the first time recently and really enjoyed my experience. The owner, Emily, gave me a gel manicure. I took off acrylic I had on, the morning of my appointment, so you can imagine how bad my nails were. Emily saved my nails with her meticulous and gentle touch. I really like how my nails came out and the time Emily spent ensuring my manicure was to my liking. Currently, Emily is the sole nail tech in the salon, so you get a personalized 1:1 experience. Oh and she had sparkling wine available to sip while she worked on my nails! The only 2 things I'll call out, but are not big deals are ... parking, the salon doesn't own any of the parking in the "culdesac" where the salon is located. There are 3 visitor spaces available to anyone. But, there is plenty of parking on 5th street and 6th street, so that shouldn't be an issue. Lastly, for my ladies with hips, the seating is a bit snug. Overall my experience made me feel like a VIP. I will definitely be coming back and recommending to friends/family. read more

Maybe one of my favorite nail experiences. Everyone was so meticulous. The environment is clean, quiet, modern, and I had my pedicure done in a private room (as opposed to in a line of massage chairs) which I really appreciated. It was very hygienic too with newly opened tools. It's also owned by a woman of color which is amazing. read more

I've been going here a few times and have been seen by Emily and everything was fine. Then my last visit was a month ago and some new girl whose name I never got, destroyed the bottoms of my feet and gave me athletes foot. Then on top of it she wouldn't let me pay with Venmo like I always have done and forced me to tip her well more than she deserved. I will continue to go to Russian nail techs and pay the extra money, because they sanitize their equipment and don't try to force you for tips. As an Asian woman I really wanted to support another Asian owned business that just so happened to be down the street and have 5 stars but this experience was awful and I'll never go back. read more

This is my first yelp review but I felt so compelled to write a review of this place because I love it so much and have told all of my friends! I've been going to nail salons for over a decade, and this is by far the best place I've ever been. The service is impeccable- Emily is such a gem and as a young independent business owner, has really created a special, boutique experience that is very personalized for each client since they only take a few people at a time. All of the folks who work here are extremely meticulous and make sure that your nails are absolutely perfect, and the gel nails last much longer than they have from other salons. Everything is also super clean and relaxing! If you're interested in extensions, their gel-x nails are great and healthier for nails than acrylic. My picture below is of regular gel nails. read more

I'm so glad I found this place! They just opened their immaculate salon and I could not recommend them more. I came in for a gel removal + gel manicure and Emily was precise and time efficient. She's the owner & has done nails for 8 years so she knows what she's doing. Support this place! I know I'll definitely be returning. FYI, park on the street since the parking right in front of the business is strictly residential. There's ton of parking on the street though. After moving back home to the bay I knew I wanted to find my forever nail salon, and this is it!! I have only ever written one other Yelp review, but I feel that my experience needs to be documented! Though it is a little more expensive, you're paying for quality nails that will last. Today was my second appointment with emily and she is absolutely amazing! Despite me being late for my appointment, she was able to squeeze me in. (Pro tip: leave a lot of time for parking as it may take you 15 minutes to even find a space) They are located in a very quiet area and the inside of the salon is just as peaceful. The Nail Suite is amazing at what they do and I will never go anywhere else!! read more

So grateful to have found this newcomer to the 4th Street neighborhood - what a GEM of a nail salon! I find it so refreshing to walk into a nail salon and feel as if I've landed in a calm boutique, instead of the typical "frantic factory" nail salon. You know, the kind of place where you walk in and are immediately hit by a wall of chemical fumes (gasp/choke) ? Or that you're commanded (yelled at) to "Pick Your Color!!" Not here, thankfully, because Emily (owner and service provider) won't allow that in her beautiful, tranquil nail salon. Book an appointment if you're able to ('believe walk-ins welcome too), then come on in and enjoy, no, better yet -relish- your time here. You deserve this treat, and The Nail Suite is the right place to get it! Calming, tranquil, & expert service. Perfection. After my late afternoon manicure service today I enjoyed window shopping on 4th Street, where (early October) holiday lights were being installed on the trees. The Nail Suite is amazing! I have tried different nail salons around the East Bay and this place is the cream of the crop. There are many nail salons within walking distance of my home, but I drive out of my way to go to The Nail Suite because they're so good. Every operator has been wonderful -- my nails always look perfect and the manicures and pedicures dry quickly and really last. I've never had any chipping or fading. They use high-quality products, the place is fresh and spotless, and the staff are all lovely and professional and friendly. It's always a wonderful experience! read more

I have been to more nail salons than I can remember. None can compare with Nail Suite. You immediately know you are in for a wonderful experience as you walk in the door. The polish bottles are beautifully arranged by color and brand on shelves on a wall. The salon is spotless. It has a fresh, crisp, bright feeling. Everything is brand new and very well maintained. I was taken to a private room for my pedicure. After Emily asked me if I wanted something to drink she brought in a large sanitized foot bath. She was gentle, but thorough. The pedicure was great. Her attention to every detail is impressive. My feet are rejuvenated. I will definitely return. read more

Wow! A perfect nail salon experience! Emily is the most detail oriented nail tech I've ever encountered. And she's darn nice as well :-) This petite salon is brand new with a restful modern decor. Covid safety protocols are followed. And did I mention that my nails look terrific? So easy to book online, too. My fingers got cut on the side in the process of filing and my hangnails got filed down with the electric tool. Very interesting. Then I had to hold the UV light onto each nail after application. After all this I got charged 65$ and two of my nails fell off less than 24 hours later. I haven't been doing anything crazy either. Happy Halloween tho no shade

I do wish around my nails was more cleaned up, but maybe it's just my super dry skin. I do like that they offer drinks, like peach Prosecco. That was great and helped me forget the ridiculous overpricing. I understand they give benefits to their staff but like $15 for a level 1 decoration for only 2 nails is laughable. For a stroke of glitter on top???? Or we serious right now??? I'd never come here again unless I have a boyfriend or partner who is willing to pay for it for me. I like the woman at the front desk there is annoying. I'd go somewhere else more affordable. Also important note is that they had NO DRYER for your nails. She had to bring over a mini fan that was useless. It already made a chip and bubble in my nails. Not worth it... come here if you have someone else pay for it, and to support the women working there who do your nails but I wouldn't come here to pay for it myself.

They asked what I wanted, and I mentioned a gel polish, with some length extension, and they said OK. They didn't do the typical Gel X that actually stays on my nails longer than few weeks, but that's alright. I was down to try something new to get some good looking nails. I was called up and the person said they can give me a gel manicure, round shape, cannot add length. It was the quickest manicure ever - not even 30 mins! Not sure if the gel cured properly since it all lifted within a couple days. Appreciated the time, but they should have let me know they had other customers to attend to, notably those that came in a bit after me with appointments. I think I was super rushed because of that, and the quality suffered for it. I'm not too bummed just because it wasn't overly expensive and I didn't look this place up beforehand, but can see how someone can just one star this place after seeing photos here and there experience I had since it didn't quite match up. Prob also depends on which tech you get as well, but for now, I'll def stick to my usual nail salon and gel x applications.

I came in for a gel manicure on my natural nails, but 1 finger was chipped. I asked if they could do a single extension, they recommended to use builder gel instead. At first, it looked fine, but after it cured, it was noticeably thick and not shaped very well. As a result this one fell off after a week. I also tried to point out that the shaping on my nails looked inconsistent from one finger to the next. The technician told me it was just because my finger widths are different & it's impossible to make them look the same. I understand that natural nails are harder to make uniform (compared to extensions), but I was disappointed with the lack of effort. The gel manicure itself was okay. I got a pink color with chrome powder, it lasted about two weeks. Overall, for around $50, I feel like you get what you pay for. It wasn't a terrible experience, but the attention to detail, especially with the shaping and the builder gel, was lacking. The service was friendly though, and you get a stamp card for every visit.
