Don't waste your time, I'm stuck with horrible nails for two more weeks. Completely over priced for a place that can't file nails straight make the nails even. Went in for builder gel fill + 1 extension for a nail that broke and they told me it would be $80. I figured, fine, more than i usually pay but it'll be a great service right? wrong. i asked for light pink nude like bubble bath and got Smokers Nude, total yellow undertone. When she was filing I noticed most of them were crooked, and when I asked if she could touch them up she pretended to file them a few times and I kept repeating they were crooked. After about the third time, she said it was already straight and i had to say no, it's not. I had been growing my nails out for weeks, they were long and even I just asked her to make them more narrow. i had to get my nails done for an event that night and even told them about it but ended up sitting on my hands most of the evening instead. I'm honestly embarrassed to have my nails in this state, it's something I treat myself to but I can't afford to pay to get them fixed so quick after getting them done. Totally beyond me how they have decent reviews, the tech was mean and told me how she hated the color (me too! not what i asked for!) and critiqued my cuticles. Amy did a fantastic job on my nails. I have short, wide nail beds and really flimsy, weak, bendy nails. So it's not easy to make them look cute lol! But she did. I don't like getting fake tips anymore or gel x just because due to the way my nails bend, I always end up hitting them on something and hurting my finger, or they start to come off and become a total nuisance. To all you ladies with beautiful nail beds, I envy you! Anyways, she was able to optimize the shape of my nails for their length so that they are comfortable and cute. Tiffany and Amy and all the ladies bring a happy place to chill. This place is the cleanest, an the most elegant, and stylish place I've ever been to in a salon. The soft music sets you in a relaxed mood. The ladies are bright, cheerful, and engaging. Most importantly, they are professional. So relaxing. Love it here. This was the beyond disappointing. When I showed Amy the picture of the tortoiseshell french manicure I wanted, she confidently confirmed she could replicate the design. The colors were *so* off, I had to ask her to just give me a plain brown french manicure. If she didn't have the correct colors in stock, that would have been fine! I would have picked a different design. Instead, I had to start over 1+ hours in. To top it off, when my nails were almost done I was told she could not give me the pedicure I had an appointment for, as the salon's water wasn't working for some reason. I have been coming to the Nail Suite for the last year or so, so I was super sad to move away in the summer because Emily and Bin are MY GIRLS. They take their time and pay attention to all of the little details to ensure your hands/feet are looking their best. But now I'm back and see that the Nail Suite team has grown significantly. The Nail Suite always delivers - whenever I come in with a design in mind, they will figure it out and make sure to have my buy-in before continuing on the rest of the nails. Honestly wish I took more photos so I could show you exactly how they deliver every time. Generally, my gel manis can last at least 2 weeks before any lifting starts to happen. They can make color pairing recommendations for you as well! The salon itself is small and they only take a limited number of clients at one time. I think this makes for a cozy experience compared to other salons that pump out mani/pedis en masse. Pedicures are done in a private room in the back with a cushy armchair. It's a really nice experience and I love it. We were shuffled around for no reason, my toe was filed so aggressively it hurt, and the "service" wrapped up in just 20 minutes. When we asked why it was so short, they said it's "policy" and later texted that they'd be happy if we went elsewhere. We paid $100 for two for a fraction of what was promised. Today was my first time at The Nail Suite, the experience was amazing. Amy was my nail technician and I booked a full Gel X extension set with gel polish. Her precision to detail was top of the line. The shape was perfect and exactly like the picture I showed her. She was on time for my appointment and was very gentle with me. It took about 1 hour and I'm grateful for the extra time she spent with me. The salon is very clean and has a welcoming and calm energy inside. As someone who gets anxiety in social places I really appreciated this. I've been getting Acrylic nails since I was 19. The damage hasn't been worth it and I'm glad to have found someone who cares about healthy nails and I've heard Gel-X is a better alternative. After so many years of going to several different nail salons and not receiving good service I'm shocked by the difference I found going to the Nail Suite. It was such an enjoyable, relaxed experience and I felt pampered. I received several compliments on my nails minutes after leaving the salon. I will not going anywhere else from now on. I booked a Gel X appointment with nail art using their square system - this is the best way to book, you can see who your appointment is with and book yourself a spot vice calling Amy was right on time and is such a perfectionist, she always checks her work and ensures all of the products cured. She double, triple checks shapes and makes the tiniest corrections to make the nails as perfect as possible. I came in wanting nails in theme of BLACKPINK, while it's always recommended to come in with a solid idea of what designs you want, I was unsure. Amy was super patient with me and helped me decide on what to do. Her nail prep was immaculate and it was fascinating watching her draw my French nails. The salon is super nice, there's no acrylic smell - it's just overall healthier and that makes me happy to support a salon moving in this direction. I've looked for years to find a nail shop that had good quality (and less toxic) products, felt relaxing, and had results that last. Someone creative with nail art was just a bonus. On all counts, the Nail Suite is it! No stinky acrylic here, and they use vacuum filters for gel-x removal. So awesome. Amy and Emily are kind, professional, and detail oriented. My nails look phenomenal and last until I go back in (most recently - 4 weeks!). Emily is always up for nail art and I get compliments regularly. A great experience. I love that I can make an appointment on the website. Each service is added individually so they can account for the right amount of time (be sure to include removal if you have gel-x, and nail art or French, etc.). Fantastic! Emily is an impeccable manicurist that pays exceptional attention to detail. Entering the salon you are not hit with the pungent scent of chemicals. The extremely clean salon is modern and offers a comfortable vibe. So comfortable, I was falling asleep while getting my pedicure. After I left the pedicure room I went back to the front for my manicure. Emily gave me the most thorough manicure I have ever received. She was constantly using her tools to remove slight imperfections, and running her fingers over the polished nails after each cycle under the curing light to ensure my nails where smooth. I like that the nail designs are simple and minimalistic. These sort of designs tend to look better on my shorter nails. I actually put my phone down and had a deep and stimulating conversation with technician Cassandra over what I thought would be a quick 20 minute pedicure polish change. I had never been to this spot. I was able to see all of their options on line in advance and appreciated 20 minute polish change pedicure as an option. I like that they offer OPI products and the shop is tucked away on a cute side street. I was able to book online in advance with ease including text follow ups. I've gotten my nails done at a lot of places in and around the Bay Area and $65 for a simple gel set with no design, no massage chair and to be rushed by the nail tech after being switched to from tech to tech is nothing short of audacious. My tech claimed to have clients in the back and that's why they rushed me.....but the only thing in the back was a woman vacuuming. My appointment was two hours before closing. The shaping, sizing of my extensions, filing, polish, everything was done so carefully and I really appreciate her taking the time and not rushing like most places because they have other appointments to get to. Not one flaw on my set! Pricey yes, but I would rather pay for a service by someone that cares. Also want to add, it was a 1 hour 30 minute appointment. My appointment was for 2:15pm. I thought for being one of the more expensive salons in the area, they'd last at least a week, preferably two. I also got a weird vibe from one of the employees as she was working on another clients nails who had made comments that led me to believe she's a regular there. Really disappointing. I thought I would love this place. It's close to home, and I love the layout of their space, it's more private than the usual spots. But, sadly the customer service here is pretty terrible. The last time I was at the Nail Suite, I received a text from the nail technician, scolding me not to park near the salon. I have a disability and was parked in the disability parking. I have a placard, and have permission to park in spots that are just for this purpose. It was a real turn off, that they don't seem to care about accessibility. This is Berkeley, get with the program. Then today, I went to pay after my nails were dry and there 2 women there. One of them gave me her phone and said: Venmo this account. Scan it. You can pay the $35 plus tip. So that's what I did. Paid immediately. Then, the person who actually did the manicure walks in from the back and said: I didn't get it!! And looked at the QR code and said: THAT'S NOT ME!! THAT'S NOT ME! She was in a panic and I was trying to figure out what to do -- whether I should cancel the payment (which you cannot do on Venmo) and the other girl said "Send it again!" That is what happened. It made me really uncomfortable and it was an awful way to have this appointment come to an end. Then suddenly, the payment went through. There was no apology. She just walked away in to the back. This business needs to learn how to treat people in a kinder and professional way. They seem really unorganized and talk the entire time, and basically ignore you. Thought it would be different, and attempted to connect but they just want to get paid ... and they way you went about it was abrupt and really sloppy. I don't care how great your technique is - it's ultimately about people and being a nice person. That is what keeps people coming back. read more

Finally! A nail salon that I can get behind! I am obsessed with the Nail Suite. What makes it so great? 1. This place is clean AF! They use new nail files and buffers for each person. 2. They are meticulous in their prep work. My cuticles and nail beds look so nice after they are done! I also like how they don't use electric drills to remove your gels. So this review is based on the actual manicure and what happened after I left. This is a pricier place, so a manicure is usually $35 but since I had a black tip gel french manicure, there is a +10 charge. Usually, at my go-to nail place, there isn't the same upcharge, but the actual time and detail spent is something that can be overlooked. My nails do look good, though the time it took to clean and paint my nails took 1.5 hours. The space is nice and clean, and the workers are friendly, but the issue I have with this place is the hygiene of the workers. I have a sunscreen allergy and will break out in hives and rashes after exposure. A few hours after my manicure, I was having dinner and drinks with my friends only to find that I have broken out in hives where the lotion was put on for the hand massage. I know it is not due to the lotion as the underside of my wrist is hive/rash-free, so it means that the person that treated me either had sunscreen on or touched someone previously with sunscreen on. Either way, they did not wash their hands properly as the level of the hives is a direct exposure and will take about a month to go away. read more

Emily is the best. I love this cute, quaint shop nestled in a residential and retail nook. It's a nice break from the noisy churn you get at chop shop style nail shops. She takes her time and pays close attention to detail. The paraffin wax treatment is my favorite as well as the realizing hand massages. I'm an extra girl when it comes to details and Emily is able to satisfy my requests. Be sure to book an appointment before hand! Walk-in are welcome but appointments are preferred.
