I got my nails done here 3 months ago and she must've used concrete because they STILL will not come off without damaging my nails. I came twice to get my acrylics done and while I liked the way the end product looked, the lack of care for the nails and random upcharging ultimately made me stop coming. This last time I came, I had one of the ladies take my old set off since the nail tech laid acrylic over two lifting nails on my first visit and they ended up creating a worse problem. Great, I needed a refresh anyway. She proceeds to put SUPER tiny tips on my nails, which makes them look thin on the sides like I like but it created terrible ingrown nails because it squeezed the sides of the nails. Ultimately I picked a solid red color and she charged me $25 more than the listed price. No reason for it since it's a simple acrylic set with one color. This happened last time and I assumed it was the glitter color was more but it seems she decides on the fly what to charge. Now, three months later, my nails are so thin and have 5 huge pieces of acrylic still stuck to them. I've since moved away and found a new nail tech who refuses to pull them off entirely because they are causing tearing and bleeding on my natural nail. I have religiously done my nails my whole life so three months of this is upsetting and ridiculous. Lastly, they were playing a movie with full blown sex scenes in the salon one of the times when I went and it was so uncomfortable. She apologized after a few minutes of it but continued being standoffish and awkward to me, which was another part of the bad experience. I came back one last time to give them a chance since I liked the end result and color selection, but I made a huge mistake returning. read more

My daughter and I received mani-pedis at this local salon and were pleased with the service and outcome of our nails. We received the standard footbath, exfoliating, massage and nail trim and color. The studio was pleasant and had two televisions available for customers. The two ladies had a steady stream of customers, and were very efficient in managing the timing between us to get pedicures, then manicures or special nail work. So amazing! Walked in on a Tuesday and just had an inspo picture. I actually didn't start doing my nails until recently so I can be pretty clueless about it sometimes. I also do acrylic only on my right hand but not my left because I play guitar. Not only did they execute the vision perfectly, but I feel like it's even cuter than the inspiration. Also, other places have been confused and weirdly annoyed with my request for asymmetrical hands before but they didn't bat an eye and did exactly what I wanted and it came out better than I expected. So cute! I've tried 2 or 3 of the other salons in the area but this is my favorite so far. Be aware that if you want to tip generously tips are only in cash. read more

The lady the sits close to the bathroom does an decent okay job. I had her do a full set and wasn't very happy but wanted to give her another chance. I go in today to get my fill 3 weeks later (I usually can go 4 weeks) and she didn't advise me that they charge $5 to fix a nail (a nail that was lifting after one week due to the subpar work) and $5 to trim them. So my fill was $10 more without warning. Message to the owner who was sitting by her and listening to me: if you have a repeat customer, or a new customer at that, I would encourage you to change you policy or at the very least, communicate it. It's a shame bc I was trying to give business to a smaller shop that doesn't have any business and now I see why they is never a wait, or handful anyone there. I won't be back. read more

Jenny and B are hella funny and honestly made my first time so comfortable. Everyone is meticulous when doing nails and that's crucial. The prices are steep but you get what you pay for. They have all the new trends: powder, ombre, designs, marble, chrome, etc. They accept walk-ins but the place is small so I recommend calling ahead and making an appointment. They also have a parking lot which is super convenient. To be frank, it's so hard to find someone who executes your vision perfectly and they do that here! ZERO RATING IF POSSIBLE, Jenny Super glued the whole cuticle circumference to my nail in purpos, said it was to keep my nail from lifting?! superglued cuticle to nail is not ok, especially without communicating the act, which can cause growth defects once nail bed grows, if I didn't notice. I definitely deserve a refund and more. Very unpleasant treatment from Jenny, so unfortunate and disheartening, I literally just stopped the service, once I had enough and realized she was purposely mistreating me, paid for the service up to the point of where I decided I had enough mistreatment, which was placing acrylic fill and replaced both thumb tips, 65$ at Jenny's request, a fill never being that price and I did not stay for design or color, I do not recommend, and am fully disappointed.Crooked, and taken soo low to the point where the tip can not be corrected and only filed down to the nail bed edge cutting into my natural nail, which I verbally expressed I was growing out, so I could eventually just get overlay style acrylics on my natural nail! I don't know why I was treated soo harshly, I've paid fully, and tipped for the one furst time acrylic set that I had done 2 weeks prior for my daughters bday, and was returning for a new design and fill, replacing tips on both thumbs that broke. Prior to super gluing my whole cuticle to my nail and nailed edge, -Jenny, ignored when I tried to show her example photos on my phone -had my hand in the drier to the point where it was burning, and when I told her it was burning and felt like my nail was cooking she said " I know.", ( which honestly I should have got up and stopped the service at that point), then she sprayed solution to stop the burning I feel like she was waiting for more of a reaction, which sounds odd but literally to say "I know." When I told her it was burning bad, is way more odd and only the one thumb was burning and she didn't even place my left hand in the dryer to set the acrylic only my right hand, which I now wonder was intentional - clipped my tips way shorten than length needed for my cat tip style request -filed my nails aggressively to the point my natural nail tip was filed into - filed my nails extremely crooked -aggressively squeezing and positioning my fingers and pushed my hands when she told me to wash them after supergluing my nail to cuticle and filling the nails down more After I went to the bathroom washed my hands and looked at the horrendous violent art i was being subjected, I decided to not continue with the appointment. Kindly told Jenny I wanted to stop and I'll pay her for the point of service we reached, which was replacing the thumb tips and an acrylic fill, no polish or design Jenny requested 65$!!!!! They are constantly getting new colors and products so even as a person that's been getting acrylics for 15+ years I never leave with a boring set. Glow in the dark? They got it. Rainbow ombré? Of course. You want three different shapes with foil, rhinestones, beads, and butterflies? You'll have it in less than 90 minutes! I recently moved and needed a new nail salon. Decided to try this place on a whim and was pleasantly surprised! My old chipped gel polish was sanded off with a little dremel thing so delicately it did no damage to my nails at all - I'm used to places soaking then scraping my nails and doing a lot of damage so this alternative was great! Got a fill done on my acrylic nails at this shop, i brought my own polish. they said they were making an exception for me by using something other than gel as they only do gel because of the pandemic and safety precautions which they did not explain. The price was very high $35 for just a fill on medium short acrylic, my own colour from home, no designs. Staff was friendly but mostly we did not chat as they seemed to be focusing on talking to the "regulars" and it was my first (and last) time getting my nails done here. One of my nails has a divot in the side and I don't feel like they were shaped well, but they were fairly quick and my nails are smooth other than the one. I've seen great pictures of the work this shop has done so I think I just got a tech on a bad day maybe, but for how high the price was I'm not going back to find out. read more

I've been coming to do my nails with Jenny for many years now. The service is 100 % satisfactory. Jenny does all types of designs and shapes of the nails on point. She has done so many designs on my nails and her freestyles are very good. I've been to many salons in the past but I'm super glad I found Jenny because anything I want she does. She has so many good colors that last a very long time, her rhinestones last a super long time too. Jenny takes her time with her work she's dedicated to all her art. When she did my wedding nails she was planning a head of what designs and what color she was going to do without me saying anything and I appreciate it that because she puts thought and affect to all her clients and their nails. Finding a good nail tech feels impossible, especially in the El Cerrito/Albany area as salons are limited. I called to schedule a same day appointment and Jenny was kind enough to squeeze me in as her last client for the day. The salon is clean and noise is kept to a minimum. There is a great, ample variety of colors and designs to choose from. My favorite part is that Jenny is super easy to talk to, I was able to ask her to fix the previous nail techs work and she helped me decide on a design as I am super indecisive. I walked in and saw there were 2 workers inside. One was working with a client, the other was in the back. (Side note: I did not make an appointment, but came in 1 hour before they closed.) When I walked in, I asked if they had time for a gel fill. The woman working on a client said I needed to wait until she was done with the girl she was working on and to have a seat. I agreed to wait. 5 minutes later, another girl walks in and asks the exact same question "do you have time for a gel fill?" The same woman who asked me to wait and have a seat then told the woman who walked in after I did to "choose your color, and you can have a seat in the chair over there" The woman who was in the back then came out to begin working on that girl's nails...while I was sitting and waiting for service. I'm sure they do an amazing job. The reviews are great for the work that they do, but the customer service I received was discriminatory. I am a woman of color, and the other woman who received service after I walked in was of color, but much lighter and ethnically ambiguous. Yes, I could've called for an appointment, but that's no excuse for bad service at any time. They were a new shop and their store front says walk-ins are welcome, so I wanted to support. I was not loud, I did not cause a scene while sitting, I just quietly waited, but chose to leave because of that experience. If none of this matters, then go get your nails done. I'm disappointed and dissatisfied with the service I received here this evening. An older woman did my pedicure. She cut my toenails unevenly when I told her how I wanted it. The same woman did my gel manicure and the gel polish was streaky. When I mentioned it, [I assume the younger woman I showed my manicure to was Jenny] she said it was just the nail polish. I came here because of the great reviews. I guess the lesson here is to have Jenny do your nails. I'm saddened that I spent $50 here for not so great service. Best experience, walked in at the time of my appointment and got seated for my pedicure right away. After the pedi Jenny did my nails, she suggested this neon yellow powder that glows in the dark and it came out perfect! She takes her time and the shape came out exactly how I like it. I'm usually the kind of person that's quiet during a nail appointment but Jenny makes easy conversation and is very funny. I will definitely be back here.
