I came here for a 90-minute lymphatic massage. At the beginning, when I was lying on my back, the pressure on the front of my body was way too light. I asked if she could make it a little stronger, but she said they don't use much pressure on the front. I understand that, but it honestly didn't feel like a massage. It felt like she was just lightly waving a gua sha tool over my skin with almost no pressure. There was virtually no therapeutic pressure or technique with that tool. When she used her hands, I was hoping she would spend more time on my neck and shoulders, but that part was very short. I kept wondering what she was actually doing.. Once I turned over, the experience completely changed. She used her elbows to press down very aggressively. It wasn't just deep pressure, it felt like she didn't really know how to massage properly. She asked if the pressure was okay a few times, but I said yes because I was worried that if I complained, she'd go back to barely touching me. I've had massages regularly at many different places, and I've never experienced someone who relied almost entirely on digging in with their elbows like this. It felt more rough than therapeutic. She also scraped my calves way too hard with a gua sha tool. It wasn't relieving at all, it was just an unpleasant kind of pain. Overall, I was disappointed from beginning to end. I ended up with bruises all over my back, and after the massage I felt so dizzy that I had a headache and felt unwell for the next three days. On top of that, I developed an itchy rash on both sides of my neck that still hasn't gone away. I'm not sure if it was caused by the massage oil or the massage itself. The therapist was kind and friendly, but unfortunately the massage itself was one of the worst I've had. Based on my experience, I honestly don't understand why this place has such high reviews. Every massage I have gotten has been excellent and when I have brought friends they also received great massages. There's heated blankets on the beds to warm you up during the colder months. I recently did a hair spa which was absolutely really bad that I expected and what I pay for. The elderly women, she don't know how to give me head spa or there is none zero technique how to make it relax. I have to remind me do this and that. She don't know how to put face mask on me. CONNIE IS TERRIBLE. Don't get me wrong, I've had a good experience here once before. But today was TERRIBLE. For starters, she had absolutely no technique, she was just doing random stuff the entire time, she was coughing the entire time and wouldn't stop asking me if I was okay when I had asked the second time to maintain silence and that I'll inform her if I'm in any discomfort, the massage wasn't an hour, I understand you should expect about a 5 minute take off when grabbing hot stones and towels, but she was outside of the room for about ten minutes and I could hear her talking. THE WORST PART IS she used her elbow the entire time and barely her hands and I left and woke up with intense back pain. I didn't go in for a deep tissue, I went in for a Swedish.
