I've been coming here for years whenever I visit my mom in the Bay Area. My husband and I used to love this place -- their deep tissue massages were better than many from licensed therapists in LA. We always left relaxed and tipped generously ($20/hr) because the service was worth it. Not anymore. The quality has completely fallen off a cliff. On my recent visit, they had a sign requiring a $20/hr tip -- paid upfront before the massage even starts. That should've been my warning. Sure enough, it was one of the most useless, half-hearted "deep tissue" massages I've ever had. I could barely feel any pressure, and despite repeatedly explaining where I needed focus, the therapist either didn't understand or didn't care. Once the tip was secured, the effort was gone. It's obvious they're now prioritizing guaranteed tips over actual service. What used to be an exceptional experience is now a complete waste of time and money. If you're looking for an actual deep tissue or myofascial release -- grab a foam roller and stretch at home. You'll get better results. read more

First of all, the person at the front desk didn't speak English well. I'm not trying to judge anyone, but it was a barrier to booking my massage and them understanding what I was saying. The massage didn't follow what I asked for at all. I even reminded her several times throughout what I wanted, and I also used Google Translate to show my message to her directly. The lady (Lisa/Linda) didn't do the best job and when she was finished, she walked to the front and told the man to remember to ask for a tip. The man at the front demanded a tip three times! Their $99 two hour massage is about the best deal around. I found it relaxing. I think I fell asleep a couple of times. Note: please tip your massager well. Best massage in a long time, and that includes Bali. Some places follow a routine, irregardless of where your pains may be! I told my masseuse my neck and shoulders where very stiff and sore. She concentrated on those areas 70 percent of the time with back and legs taking a back seat. The place is in a strip mall near Marshall's, which seems a bit gimmicky as they advertise their special prices in the windows on the San Pablo Blvd median and I would assume fence posts too. The place must be huge! I never saw any of the big common areas in the pictures. I was taken to a private room that had a Heated bed!!! I'm tall and my piggies hung off the end, but the bed was wide enough for the masseuse to climb on either side and work those shoulder and back muscles deeply. The repetitive music was annoying but soon all I remember is stifled groans emoting from somewhere deep in my chest and back, involuntarily. So much so,it took me a while to realize it was me making those sounds! Like you take a deep breath out and just when you think you got all the air out, you get a squeeze and out comes another breath, like a pained puppy. Since moving to the east bay, we were looking for a place for reflexology massage, and I think we've found our new place with Vichy Luxe! Unassuming, in a strip mall in El Cerritos, we were pleasantly surprised as soon as we walked in! The decor is nice, the place is clean, and the staff were all very friendly. We called the day before for an hour reflexology on a Sunday afternoon, and it all went smoothly. We were led to a dark relaxing massage room with comfy massage chairs where our feet were soaked. The massages were great and the whole experience was very relaxing. The staff may not speak English very well but they are very good at what they do. I do not recommend going here. I was super excited for their two hour massage special after getting hit by a car while walking my dogs. My husband and I went here and thought we would treat ourselves the massage therapist. If that's what you call them are inexperienced and do not know professionalism keys kept falling out of one of their pockets And the other one her phone went off and she just left it playing in the middle of the massage. Both masseuse's despite having to be told multiple times were extremely rough and constantly were using their elbows. They also massaged us on top of the blankets for almost 40 minutes until my husband had to say are you going to pull the blankets down that's not even the worst part on my way out I tipped them $10 giving them five each as I was going to get in my car they called me back inside and yelled at me and told me I needed to give them 20. I am completely appalled by this place and do not think places like this should be able to be in business. read more

My mom and I come to the spa once a week for the microdermabrasion treatment/ dark spot removal treatment. The result is absolutely astonishing! I could see the dark spots fading after 3 treatments. And I LOVE their sauna! It's hot stone sauna, not stuffy like the regular steam or dry sauna. The environment in general is very clean. I really want to like this place and will go back. I booked an appointment online and the person at the desk was surprised to see me when I arrived. Apparently, they didn't have the staffing. She put me in the smallest room and proceeded to give me a massage. She was nice but she was not trained. it was rough but better than nothing. I went to the sauna and there was a couple in there talking on the phone or watching videos in Japanese. They were very loud and were camped out in there with tea and water. I left and returned and they were still there. It was a great sauna and it would have been nice to enjoy it quietly. Scammers? Ripoff's? Probably the worst message I've ever had to pay for: paid for an hour of deep-tissue message, and got 55 minutes of something else. Here's the list of what I received: uncomfortable table, non-English speaking, her phone rang in her pocket twice during the session, she took a break at the middle of the message to get some sort of hot rocks to put on my back without warning. She started doing reflexology message to my legs- I paid for a deep tissue message. I asked her 10-15 times to make it harder/deeper, but she only used her arm to press down. I really don't think this person had any training or is qualified to do message. On my way out in the lobby, they had the audacity to ask me for a tip! I nicely explained way I wasn't going to tip and then sent them an email explaining and asking for a refund before posting to this site, but there was no response. I had a 2-hour massage and it only cost me $99. My massager knew where my tight spots are and worked diligently on them. My back pain and shoulder tightness were gone. The massage was so relaxing and released tension that I had for a long time. I also tried the free tourmaline stones sauna and the free hot stone. It was a wonderful experience as well. The sauna room is clean, spacious, and professional. Tourmaline stones sauna calm and soother my heart, help clean my pores and improve my skin strength. This is a great place to come in and get an authentic tourmaline stones sauna. There are showers in the dressing room. Clean towel, good smell shampoo and body wash are provided. Four of us ladies were looking for a rainy day massage on a Sunday afternoon. I called Vichy Luxe and they had availabilty for us within the hour. We were so thrilled with the amazing treatments we received and the whole experience left us wanting to book every Sunday here. The facilities are beautiful, the staff are very friendly and the private room was so comfortable, warm and quiet (ask for a heated table). We all booked a 90 minutes combo massage and all 4 of us walked out of our rooms with nothing but kudos for the massage therapists we had. It was very relaxing and they used hot stones for part of the massage. The receptionist showed us around the facilities afterwards with their amazing sauna room, mediation room, & a large bathroom/locker room with showers. Give yourself some extra time before your appt to use the facilities. I frequent a few other of the massage places around El Cerrito and Vichy Luxe will now become my #1 choice to book! read more
