First time trying the Modern Waffle at Trucks and Taps for brunch and I must say these waffles are delicious! Fluffy and savory combined with the size makes them worth the price. Obviously you are paying more for their uniqueness than a typical waffle but it is definitely worth a try! If you like extra sweet, the churro waffle is amazing!

Finally checking out the food truck!

It took me much longer to visit the Modern Waffle than I had hoped, but finally had a chance on a cold Winter morning. I wasn't sure how a food truck would work in the winter, but the process was incredibly smooth and they assumed takeout boxes for everyone rather than food on a plate. It worked out very well. Pricing is simple and reasonable and the food is delicious! I went with a plain jane For my 1st waffle and it was delicious. Such a great breakfast stop for the family. I'll be back again! Also don't plan to drive home to eat this waffle. The smell will drive you crazy in the car because it is SO DELICIOUS. There is no way you have the self control not to open the box in the car and consume immediately.

The Kong! Great combination of Peanut butter and chocolate. Not as sugary as some of the others but still very sweet.

Waffles are underrated in this country because people get them all wrong. The Modern Waffle changed that. Absolutely one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. This was a warm, perfectly cooked piece of golden fluff, and it was awesome on a 40 degree day. The truck staff were super cool, and very kind. It was ready quickly and with plenty of toppings. VERY sweet but well worth it. Would eat here again 10/10.

I honestly can't remember the burger I had, but I remember that I wanted to have it with the strawberry aioli and they were happy to make the change for me. After I ordered I saw 10 other people with order numbers in their hand so that was an indication of the wait we were about to endure. We had to stand for a bit before a table was available. It took 45 minutes before the food arrived. Now the food. It was good enough to say I'll try it again. If it wasn't for the generous portion of fries I would have left hungry. I'd be happy to pay $18 for two sliders and half the amount of fries. Fries were good but most likely a premade frozen fry nothing unique. The size of the burger was honestly comparable to the McBurger not the Big Mac (smaller and less meat). Couldn't have been more than 1/4 lb. Very thin. Yes I know it's a smash burger but paper thin and didn't pour out of an already tiny bun. I ordered the heat burger. It came with pepper jack cheese jalapeños and aïoli sauce. I dipped it in ketchup b/c it seemed dry. The 9 year old ordered the classic with added bacon. I'd say add the 3rd patty for $3 to make the meat to bun ratio closer to equal.

Unfortunately, they've since merged with a donut shop and have a space in a strip mall. I think the business move makes sense but it really takes away half the reason I went here in the first place - the environment. The staff are friendly. It's almost never busy since they moved to the new location. I'm happy to report that the ice cream is still good! They have really fun waffle bowls that they make into ice cream nachos, great and unique flavors, and lots of toppings. As you approach and turn into the area there's gravel parking close by. What I loved about this place is that pets are welcome here! They even offer pup cups here! They also have a life sized pool game, corn hole, and some other activities to keep you entertained and enjoying the warm weather! There's a good variety to the menu and they have several different topping options! I had never had the kind of soft serve they offer here but was eager to try it out. It was interesting, the flavors you choose are twisted into the soft serve, it's a subtle taste. My boyfriend, his fam bam, and I were excited to come here after Father's day dinner and to make sure the guest of honor, his step dad, the father's day special!! We were lucky enough to check out some of their flavors and specials on their Facebook page! As soon as we got there I studied the menu and settled on their Butter Pecan Ice cream with hot fudge. It was savory and delicious. I liked how light and creamy it was. My boyfriend had the Horchata and loved that too! The rest of our group enjoyed their favors as well. His mom commented that she didn't taste much of the Peanut Butter but I think the flavors are meant to be subtle. It's all still new to me but I'm excited to discover more yummy flavors, and treat Rosie to some pup cups! If you find yourself in the are or just finished shopping at the outlets I highly suggest you head over to Cruizin Cones to get your ice cream fix!
