Having grown up in Brooklyn, NY in the 60s-70s, I'm very familiar with what a true New York-style bagel should be: * A tight, dense crumb with tiny air pockets -- compact but still soft * A chewy crust, not crunchy -- a gentle tug when you bite * Clear freshness -- when warm, it should smell like flour, steam, and malt What we received was dry and lacking chew, with none of the aroma or freshness expected from a hot-water-boiled, freshly baked New York-style bagel. It tasted more like something that had been sitting than something just made. We were genuinely excited to visit and left disappointed, which is not something we expected given your reputation. I hear everyone rave about Bagel Bin and after spending some time in NYC a few months ago I had to see if these lived up the hype of being the best bagel in Omaha. Unfortunately I was disappointed in the bagel themselves. A little dry, not enough chew. Also not very large for bagels being their main product. However the cream cheese was absolutely delicious. I stopped in with some coworkers for a quick breakfast before a busy Sunday shift. My coworkers love this place, so as a big bagel fan, I was excited to give it a try. The menu has a ton of options, which can feel a bit overwhelming at first if you're new. I did feel a little rushed to make a decision, but thankfully my coworkers who had been before helped me pick out something great. I ended up going with the everything bagel paired with garlic herb cream cheese and wow it was incredible. I've tried my fair share of bagels from big chains like Einstein's, but this one was top tier. The bagel was so fresh and the cream cheese was packed with flavor. Bagels were delicious! I'm not the biggest bagel fan, but they had some very cool combos. Mushroom melt was so good, next time I'm going to get the California Delight. Not only do they sell bagels, but they have pastries, bread, muffins, and other goodies. The line was long when we got in it, but it went by super quickly! Took maybe 10-15 minutes to get our order in and pay. When ordering, they are straight to it. After ordering, wait at the register to pay. You can either sit down or wait for your food depending on how long your order takes to complete. The ambiance is simple but a little outdated. It does the job by providing seats and tables for you to eat. Has no impact on the food obviously. If you need a quick bite for breakfast/lunch, great place to stop by! read more

Best bagels in town. Very friendly staff. You may have to wait in line but it is worth it. I usually get a toasted Asiago bagel and a cup of coffee. They also have doggy bagels which of course, my dogs love. They also have a great assortment of donuts that I will try someday. read more

A quick visit from my mom meant getting a good local breakfast. We made our way this morning to Bagel Bin, Omaha, Nebraska's only kosher restaurant. It's always busy there on Sunday, with a line and people constantly filtering in. There are plenty of tables to sit at, though we took our order to go. We got some bagels to go, toasted bialys with egg and cheese, apple strudel, almond croissants, and an everything bagel pretzel before they sold out of them. Simple, well executed baked goods. Am already considering returning for their 'STICKY' mini cinnamon rolls. So tasty. Nestled off of a main road, Bagel Bin has an authentic feel. Staff is friendly and efficient. There are groups of friends as well as families sitting at the booths in the restaurant. You can't find so many places like this anymore. Worth a visit! read more

This is my favorite place to get a bagel in all of Omaha. It is the perfect place for a Sunday breakfast after church with loved ones or a significant other. My girlfriend and I on several occasions go to this place after mass on Sunday as a mini tradition. The wait time may seem long when you get inside but it's such quick service with friendliest of people serving you. Our go to is to get a Denver Omelet bagel sandwich on an Everything Bagel and then split and Everything Bagel with cream cheese and a cup of Joe. This is all at very affordable price and it's a place that has been family owned and operated since 1977. The ambience almost makes you feel like you are at a New York Deli (full disclosure never been to a New York Deli but I would very much like to go.) Light crackly texture, bready soft interior, herbed to exultation. So good! We both had lox bagels, something we both miss from our respective east coast and west coast lives. And we were both so happy with the feeling of "Yes! We finally found a place here!" The coffee was what you'd expect for a neighborhood bagel place, the interior was purely functional, it's not trendy or exciting. But what it is is so tasty, so reliably good, that it was packed with people the entire time. They just kept coming. Stopped by the Bagel Bin one busy morning and was not disappointed at all! It was quite busy when we were there, but there were a ton of helpful workers there to take your order and make it quickly. We ordered the California Delight on an everything bagel that was amazing! We ordered it with cream cheese (as opposed to Mayo) and I really loved the avocado and sprouts on it. It was definitely filling and the perfect amount for a lunch entree. We also ordered the Denver omelette on an onion bagel which was also really good! Good variety of New York-style bagels as well as cream cheese flavor choices. Dr. Brown's canned soda available in the fridge. There were loaf cakes (lemon poppyseed, chocolate chip sour cream, and other flavors) , a few types of doughnuts, and kugel on offer as well, but we did not try any of them since we knew we would likely devour those also.
