The location on 204th Street in Gretna is clean, open, inviting ... but noisy. It's one of those warehouse-type settings where you really have to work at having a private conversation. Seating is expecially comfortable in the big chairs, but then you have to schootch them close together and lean in so you can hear each other, which is unfortunate. Granted, tables are set far apart, but this should be in addition to. Coffee was delicious, but the beignet bites were just so-so. Granted, one should not expect New Orleans beignets outside of New Orleans, but these little donut puffs had only a light dusting of powdered sugar (which I actually was thankful for because I wore black pants!), and there was a not-overly-pleasant surprise inside with an indistinguishable creamy substance that was sort of like the inside of a brown sugar cinnamon poptart, only less so. I hadn't been expecting that. The yogurt parfait was substantial and delicious. (The staff was friendly and helpful when making selections, but it didn't occur to me to ask about fillings.) I might visit again, but maybe at one of the other locations, if acoustics were more promising.

The drinks are always consistently delicious, and the baristas are professional and friendly! The ambiance inside is warm and bustling and smells so delicious and homey, with the aroma of roasting beans wafting through the air. My favorite drinks are the cinnamon dolce latte (when I want a hot drink) and the iced caramel latte (when I want a cold drink for the hot summer days)! So, as I said, I know all Starbucks are pretty similar, but this one is just a cut above.

I had the pumpkin spice latte (it was Autumn, so I am allowed!), and it was creamy, had a good spice to it, and smooth. I would definitely get that again.
