I bought my first bag of bagels from their stand at the farmer's market over a year ago and safe to say I've been hooked ever since! Now they've opened a storefront and you can get bagels hot and fresh out of the oven multiple days a week! **They plan to extend their operating hours when the market season ends, for now they're open W-F 7:30-1:00 but be forewarned that they may sell out early so I'd check social media before making a late trip over. I like that their sourdough isn't too sharp and tangy like what you'd get from the pier in San Fransisco. These bagels have the classic dark crust with soft, chewy interior. They generally have 7 different bagel flavors available daily with a few on the menu rotating each week. The Salted Rosemary is hands down the best, my favorite! When I'm feeling a little sweet tooth, the French toast Crunch hits the spot, especially paired with the prepared-in-house Vanilla Bean Cream Cheese. Oooooo, delish! They also offer brewed coffee, housemade cold brew, and a variety of different ready-to-purchase beverages. There is bar counter seating as well as a cute window bench seat and additional patio tables out front. I appreciate that they considered the parking situation! You can snag a spot on the neighborhood street or there's plenty of parking at the church across the street. There is handicapped parking behind the shop. read more

Stopped in before class right when they opened. Had trouble finding parking as the only option is on the neighborhood street. There was already a line waiting outside but once the doors opened they moved through us quickly. I appreciated that a staff member was explaining the process to the entire line while we were waiting. When you come in you walk past the register to the end of the counter and order your bagels down there. Then you will move to the register, and you can grab your own cream cheese out of the fridge by the register. I just got a salted rosemary bagel with chive cream cheese. The bagel was to die for! Hot and fresh and perfectly crunchy on the outside but chewy on the inside. The chive cream cheese paired well with my bagel choice. My friend and I had the opportunity to stop by the brick and mortar of Omaha bagel co on a Wednesday morning! The ordering system was smooth and the staff were very welcoming. I got the garlic Parmesan and pumpkin bagels and she got a salt and rosemary bagel. The pumpkin flavor was pretty subtle but I enjoyed the spices I could taste. They were very fresh and nice and chewy. We both got the scallion cream cheese as well which I enjoyed but wish it had a little more flavor. Overall a very fun outing and I would definitely go back to try the other bagels and probably a different cream cheese too! read more

I made a repeat trip to Omaha Bagel today - I live NW so always pick up a dozen when I make the (very worthwhile) drive. They freeze beautifully to enjoy later. On arrival, be sure to enjoy the aroma. Today my preferred varieties were cooling when I ordered; I was invited to wait about ten minutes. This turned out to be a very good thing. I got to watch a very well-coordinated team operate and cooperate flawlessly. As I waited many customers were warmly welcomed, cheerfully served and graciously thanked. Their customer service is first rate. There is so much to be praised about the bagels. First and foremost, they do not start as dough circles mass produced by extrusion in a factory in another state. They are not frozen as dough balls, trucked across country to be defrosted, proofed and baked (without boiling) in a store-front café or bakery. Each one is hand rolled by a human, not a robot, you can see the seam where the dough rope ends connect. They are sourdough. Sourdough requires extensive fermentation and development. I bake and I love using instant, rapid-rise yeast, but it's NOT sourdough. The bagels have the tangy flavor and chewy texture you expect from a sourdough product; an instant yeast product just cannot give either. They sell four core varieties and two rotating varieties, so you have to check the website on Wednesdays to be sure you make a trip when your preferred variety is on the docket. If you have a favorite, just ask, they will tell you when it's likely to be back on the rotation. This is the kind of business visiting former Omahans will make time to patronize. I must mention cleanliness; this store is clean. The staff promptly gathers up anything left behind or that hits the floor. The glass is clean, the sidewalk outside is clean, driveway is clean, the floor is clean, the tables/chairs are clean. I love the story of how this family built this business by working together, that their kiddos are learning work ethic and commitment to a common goal and that they are seeing great success. Lots of favorites. Think Everything bagel, Asiago bagel, Maple bagel, plain bagel is not to be missed. They change every day. Don't forget the cream cheese, plain or scallions. I took both. 8 fresh bagels and 2 tubs of cream cheese geese about $30. Great deal for fantastic l, individually wrapped bagels. They are open until 1pm but...Get here by 8 because they sell out fast. Get them when they are fresh & warm! I was very popular when I came home with Omaha Bagel bagels. I had to write an update! I just ordered their cranberry crackle seasonal bagels and WOW. I will probably make a large stock up order before they are done with this flavor for the year. Very nice cranberry flavor that is not artificial at all. The crispy sugar on the outside adds great texture and flavor. read more

This is a veteran local owned homemade bagel place! I believe a couple runs this, their bagels are DELICIOUS, I found out about them through my sister in law, the bagels are cooked perfectly with the right amount of chewiness, flavor in every bagel, you don't get much flavor in bagels when you split them in half because the seasonings usually only on top half, NOPE not this place when you buy an onion bagel you taste it throughout! They make it fresh daily, and whatever you don't finish you can freeze they heat up SO well! I recommend buying a dozen or so and freezing the rest. read more
