    Patty Melt Combo
    Chelsey A.

Stopped here for lunch and really enjoyed it! Super clean and modern diner ambiance. I had the patty melt with onion rings. The hubs had a buffalo chicken sandwich with fries. The girls split a cheese burger because they wanted a burger but there wasn't one on the kids menu. Afterward, we enjoyed some ice cream. I really appreciate the seasonality - apple streusel, pumpkin ginger snap, etc. Super creamy and delicious! Would definitely go back!

    So cute and colorful!

Dipped into Doozies on a Sunday night to escape the heat and dive into some homemade ice cream magic. The place is bright and colorful with a fun diner-style vibe that instantly lifts your mood. I love that the ice cream counter is separate from the food ordering because it makes everything fast and smooth. The hardest part was choosing from all the amazing flavors. I went with my classic single scoop of cotton candy in a cake cone because, honestly, I am basically five years old at heart. My husband stuck to his usual double scoop of butter brickle in a waffle cone, which he claims is the best butter brickle in the metro area. My dad went with Just Peachy in a cake cone, and everyone was happy. The only tiny hiccup was my cone being a little stale and missing the little paper wrapper like my dad's had...which I didn't realize mine was missing until I saw him ripping his off! So yes, I love living on the sweet slightly germy edge. Even so, the ice cream was cool, creamy, and completely delicious. Perfect for a Sunday night treat. We will definitely be back for more!

What an adorable place! Of course you must come for the icecream but the food was also so yummy! You get the 50's diner vibes as each table has a personal (non working) jukebox. The onion rings were light and crunchy. The burger was perfectly cooked. The kids hotdog was split in half making it easier for the little one to eat. It was my granddaughters birthday so they made her a sundae with sprinkles to make her day special. The icecream cones were super yummy! Be sure to save room! The butter brickle was phenomenal and I will be chasing the flavor forever!

I stopped by Doozy's in Council Bluffs today. I've never really been inside before, but I've had their food once and it was really good. This time I went specifically for ice cream for me and my son. I got the Sinful Chocolate and he got the Peanut Butter Cup. Both were really good. The Peanut Butter Cup had great flavor, and the Sinful Chocolate was thick, rich, and creamy. The price was a little steep for the amount I got, but overall the ice cream was still really good.

It's super cute in here! Classic diner in a slightly alternate universe maybe? Classic burger, fries, chicken sandwiches, etc. The decor/signage was maybe a little overstimulating which resulted in me asking a lot of questions to the woman at the counter, who was very warm and helpful. It's remarkable how a person like this elevates a normal dining experience and makes me want to return. I got a patty melt with fries and a root beer float. My daughter got a chicken sandwich. We were happy with the food. They use soft serve ice cream in the float which I don't love. My daughter got a scoop of the hard-pack ice cream which was excellent! They have an outdoor seating area with umbrellas on the tables. This would be a great place to come to before or after doing outdoor activities or a walk at the lake.

1 scoop dish of Pumpkin gingersnap. Soooooooo good!!!

We randomly came upon this place today and loved it! Burger meals were great with generous portions. But their ice cream is to die for! Wish I would have grabbed a few pints to bring home! Staff are super nice. Everything is really clean, including restrooms. Prices are comparable to any other burger joint. A fountain pop is pretty expensive if you buy individually.

We love trying local spots on vacation! And Doozies proved to be a fun local diner type experience. Visiting in October, they had a fun, spooky themed menu. They took pride in their dining room with frequent cleaning, even during the lunch rush. Service was great! All the ladies with whom we interacted were helpful and kind. TIP: try their Doozie sauce! It was a mayo, mustard, ketchup type of mixture, but it had an acidic kick to it too. Yum! I would typically anticipate the grilled chicken at this 'quick burger & fries' type of place, to be dry and not very flavorful. But boy was I wrong! This chicken breast had an herb flavor (yum!) and it was totally juicy! (Just a heads up - when we visited, their bathrooms were clean, but somehow a little stinky.) Thank you Doozies for a great lunch!

Service was ok. We came when this was owned by someone else so decided to check it out now. I got the single cheeseburger combo which comes with a side and a fountain drink or you can pay extra and get a shake or malt. Didn't see that until after so I ended up with a fountain drink and a milkshake. We were taking the food to go and they gave us a drink carrier which was good. The bad, spoon in the sundae and no cover for it. Had to ask for one. The second associate gave us a new spoon at least so I didn't have to lick the other one. That was good as it was someone else's sundae :) The food is average. I didn't like the cheeseburger. Flavorless and a grey color in the middle of the patty. The fries were limp and not hot. He said the double patty burger was a lot of meat so that's good. Milkshake meh. I guess I'd go again for ice cream as while we were there most people came for that. But not for food again. Private parking lot.

Stopped in for lunch today after reading positive Yelp reviews! What a great place for a burger and shake! Service was fast and friendly. Restrooms were spotlessly clean. What an unexpected treat on our roadtrip north on I-29! We'll definitely be back!

I'm not sure about the ice cream, because I didn't try it. What I did have was a burger and fries at what seemed like a lunch rush, or maybe this was their open-for-the-season rush. It was hella busy, so I expected a wait. service was okay, nothing special, but not bad by any means. I guess I have to go back and try the ice cream, because I feel like this place is overrated. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't really great either...just a burger and fry. *shrug* The dining room was full and I ordered to-go so i cannot comment on the ambiance.

Burger, fries and a shake? Boyyyyy! Shut yo mouth, this place is delicious. Can't go wrong with a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and a shake. I love the hot fudge/marshmallow shake, but no bad choices here. The ice cream is also great, we love the PB Cup. Fries are oily, hot, and a great choice to break your diet. Or just call this...the Doozie Diet! It will be all the rave once people have tried this place.

    Deco is fun!!

This adorable 50's style ice cream and burger place is a fun little place to enjoy a big juicy burger, fries hot out of the fryer and an old style milkshake! If you like chicken more they have some awesome selections and for those who love salad they have an option for you too! The service inside or drive thru is well beyond 10 stars! It does get a bit loud as it is family friendly, it's just all around a great place!

We walk in on a Monday night and there were a few people there. It's a small place so I'm glad we were able to get a table. When we sat down, the bartender, (waitress as well), came right over and took our drink orders and eventually our food orders. I wanted to try their renowned broasted chicken. (A device essentially uses pressure cooking and light frying to create a thin crispy skin and juicy interior). The chicken was some of the best 'fried' chicken that I've ever had, seriously. Super crispy skin and juice inside. Reminds me a little of Korean fried chicken. The texas toast was yummy, the cole slaw was creamy (if you like creamy slaw), and the crispy tots were crispy delicious. My friend got a broasted chicken sammich and he loved it too. (High praise coming from him.) My friends and I have been wanting to go back and get more broasted chicken since we left. On Fridays, they have a 4 piece special for $13.99 that I'll have to take advantage of soon. All in all, this little bar/restaurant has some amazing food that I just didn't expect after driving and running past it for years. Can't wait to go back.

Our group ended up waiting a long time each time we needed to speak to the server and it resulted in a lunch that took significantly longer than a weekday lunch should take. It would have been more understandable if they had been swamped but it was a pretty light day and we were one of a handful of tables at most. I had the Cubano sandwich, which was good overall, especially the smoky meat, but I think the coarse-ground mustard overpowered the flavours a bit and dulled the smokiness a bit. A plain yellow mustard might balance the sandwich better and let the smokiness shine through more. The sweet potato fries, however, were excellent. My wife Laura ordered Emily's Salad, which was pleasant and fresh, though we both thought it could have benefited from a little crunch--maybe some seeds or nuts added in. Our daughter Alex had the birria tacos and carne asada fries. The tacos were tasty, though a little on the small side, but the carne asada fries were fantastic. Umai! (I am a Rengoku fan; if you know, you know.) I highly recommend it. Our other daughter, Sam, ordered the birria grilled cheese and elote fries, and both were really good. Her cherryade was especially refreshing. The atmosphere was quiet and relaxed, though the dining area and patio felt a bit bare. A few plants outside and inside would really warm the place up and give it more character. The music was pretty good with indie hits in there. I also tried the Old Fashioned. It was definitely strong, which I appreciated, but it felt like it was missing a touch of sweetness or something to round it out. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves, and I'd absolutely go back and try more on the menu. Their waitstaff was top-notch and really were on their game. The restaurant has good ingredients and solid ideas--it just feels like a few flavour balances could be dialed in a little more.

I had a free afternoon and for some reason when I check yelp, a couple spots in Council Bluffs, IA show up. I check around and they look fine, elevated bar/comfort food that could be from Anywhere, USA. Pork tenderloin seems to be the move with something fried on the side. LPL's really stuck out for a few reason - massive tenderloin sandwich and a super Midwest feel from the pics. Coming from Omaha, LPL's is about 15 minutes from downtown, but everything is 15-30 minutes it seems no matter where you go so might as well check out a new state. This restaurant is as middle of nowhere in the middle of nowhere as it gets. Nondescript building with just a few windows on the side of what seems like a main road for the area. I'm fairly certain there has not ever been an Asian and/or Hispanic person set foot in here, but hey, I was looking for a hearty and authentic meal and that's what I got. Felt like Joe and Marisa showing up in Alabama. I walked in and could feel the eyes on me immediately and went straight to an open bar stool. The place was pretty packed for a random Monday at 1pm. Everyone seems like regular locals. Server/bartender came up and handed me a menu and I ordered a Yuengling. I already knew what I wanted - pork tenderloin deluxe with some cheese curds. Very reasonable and necessary up charges for both. Now, when people exaggerate and say, "so and so was bigger than my face" I brush it aside, BUT this pork tenderloin was much bigger than my face and is comically large. They actually gave me a to go box to cut some of it up and set aside for maneuverability. I won't say it was seasoned well but the bonus points for size outweighs all. I cut and stacked with mayo and veggies to eat and it was very delicious. Crunchy and juicy with fresh veggies and needed richness from mayo. I was on my 3rd day of curds and ranch, no complaints there other than from my doctor I'm sure. I suppose I can recommend this place... it was just an odd experience of being so out of place for me but the staff was friendly and food was good making this a good place to check out. I would say it's one-of-a-kind spot but I have no idea what the rest of the Midwest is like. It's really in the middle of nowhere and getting an uber back to Omaha took a whopping 17 minutes. I, of course, appreciate anyone that reads my long reviews of random restaurants. I have no idea who is reading this review in NE or IA. $25 for a massive sandwich and 2 beers is the deal if the century. Way off the beaten path but may be worth a visit if you are visiting Omaha and what a different experience.
