Fried Bread Pudding (comes with ice cream)
Bryan A.

This place came highly recommended by some friends and it did not disappoint! We got the Prime Rib Burger and the Boom Boom Pow Burger. Boom Boom sauce was just spicy enough, but not overpowering. Meanwhile, the Prime Rib Burger (one of the daily specials) was simply excellent! Great flavor! [Edited to add a photo.] Also, the Fried Bread Pudding was delicious -- a great value topped with ice cream.

The service was on point as this place, they were very friendly helping us look through the menu and when we ordered. The food came out super quick and it was fresh! The food was pretty good. I got a side salad with my meal and next time I would like to try their fries. My boyfriend got a burger and it was also good! Will be going back for drinks next time.

We came because of the 4 1/2 star rating and only wanted a cocktail before heading to the airport. Of the 4 of us, only one got what we originally came for. Baileys and coffee? Nope- No Coffee....for real, a restaurant with no coffee, Vodka and grapefruit juice...Nope...no juice...we all ended up drinking out of a can of seltzer or beer. We did not have any food but what I saw on tables looked good. This review is only about the bar and getting drinks. Won't be back.

Tenderloin on pretzel bun, fries.

Neighborhood restaurant - order at the counter and called by number. Orders sent to the kitchen by sliding on a cable(think zip line). Get your own drink and sauces/condiments. Prices are very reasonable and food is delicious. Sandwich/burger prices are without side. Restaurant was already busy on a Saturday around 530 with a line to order, but it moved fast. We had a chicken sandwich, burger, tenderloin(all pictured) +$1 pretzel bun, and the cheese balls appetizer. 5's on all sandwiches. Everyone loved theirs and would recommend all pictured. Waffle fries and shoestring fries: 3 - typical frozen variety. Cheese balls:4

My parents like this restaurant and we decided to join them for lunch. The cheese balls were solid and the cheese was of good quality. The spicy chicken sandwich had fried jalapeños and spicy bbq sauce on it. The breast was breaded in house and was high quality. The waffle fries were cooked perfectly. The meal was awesome and I would absolutely eat it again. I was really impressed with all of the handmade in house options. It's worth trying with a beer sometime.

Bucksnort bar in Council Bluffs Iowa

We decided to check out this sports bar on a whim. It's downtown in Council Bluffs. It has a rough and rustic exterior but that is deceiving. Inside, it is a rustic sports bar with multiple tvs on showing various sports. It's home and home town looking and feeling. You line up to place your order and the menu items is digital and very lengthy. Ordering is prompt and the staff was welcoming and pleasant. I had the chuckanator and my wife had the Swiss mushroom burger. We each had fries. It was delicious food. Simple but tasty and the portions were just right. The sauce was exceptional. We found the food, service, and staff quite good. Keep a look out for the way they send the food orders to the kitchen! E with Think zip line and paper airplane combined. Oh and they came around free Jell-O shots! We will be back sometime for sure.

I met my friends here for dinner a couple weeks ago and the whole experience was really surprising,…read moretbh, but in a good way. One of my friends has been here with his co-workers a few times but I haven't been here before. (Maybe one time many many years ago that I don't remember....) We walk in on a Monday night and there were a few people there. It's a small place so I'm glad we were able to get a table. When we sat down, the bartender, (waitress as well), came right over and took our drink orders and eventually our food orders. I wanted to try their renowned broasted chicken. (A device essentially uses pressure cooking and light frying to create a thin crispy skin and juicy interior). The chicken was some of the best 'fried' chicken that I've ever had, seriously. Super crispy skin and juice inside. Reminds me a little of Korean fried chicken. The texas toast was yummy, the cole slaw was creamy (if you like creamy slaw), and the crispy tots were crispy delicious. My friend got a broasted chicken sammich and he loved it too. (High praise coming from him.) My friends and I have been wanting to go back and get more broasted chicken since we left. On Fridays, they have a 4 piece special for $13.99 that I'll have to take advantage of soon. All in all, this little bar/restaurant has some amazing food that I just didn't expect after driving and running past it for years. Can't wait to go back.

The girl behind the bar was not attentive, only to the men that she knew drinking a beer. There was another gentlemen, 2 seats down, having sandwich and drinking water. This waitress ONLY talked to the two men that she apparently knew. She refilled the man's water and walked right past me. She did not refill my water until I was at the end of my meal. There was no conversation with myself or the man eating and drinking water. Now I use to eat at this place all of the time several years ago. IT USE TO BE VERY GOOD! Now, not much favor. The damn girl gave me a ketchup that was empty. She would of known by the weight of it. I asked for a different ketchup, she gave me one that still had the safety seal on it!!! This place needs a completely different person for the lunch crowd. Someone who can carry on a conversation with whomever comes in. Not just the younger men that come in that she knows that is drinking beer at noon. Unfortunately, I have a gift card for this place with plenty of money left on it. Next time I come in for lunch, I will make sure this girl is not there. AND, the food is NOT as good as it use to be. No flavor what so ever.

Clean open restaurant with a modern view. Clearly a focus has been put back on the food, menu offering great staples and super special specials. Hopes were decent, vibes were good, and hydration? Covered--with water. Only water. We were seated quickly (shoutout to the light crowd), and our server came by to ask if we wanted appetizers... before even offering drinks. Bit of an odd move--it felt like skipping the handshake and going straight for the hug. I'd already clocked the self-serve Coke Zero station (bless whoever added that), so I figured I'd grab one later. We ordered mozzarella sticks, potato skins, and garlic parm wings. The server disappeared before we could order drinks. When she returned with the apps, she vanished again without checking in. We had to flag down another server for plates--and someone managed to snag a tea while we were at it. Eventually, we got to place drink orders. They came out slowly, but once we had them, refills flowed freely. For mains, we ordered: 1 Prairie Flower Burger 1 Steak Salad 3 Meatloaf Dinners 1 Pot Roast in a Bread Bowl (my pick!) 2 NY Strips My pot roast came in a cute little bread bowl with gouda mashed potatoes--small but tasty. The burger looked fantastic, and I'm going back to try it. The meatloaf had a herby twist but was well-liked. The steak salad, however, missed the mark--cold steak, despite being asked how it should be cooked. The NY strip steaks were inconsistently cooked, and the baked potatoes came plain--no butter, no sour cream--just lonely spuds. You have to ask for toppings. Good to know for next time. Now for the plot twist: we waited 90 minutes for our food. We watched every other table get served before and after us while we sat and sipped our drinks. Our server was apologetic, and we made the best of it with good conversation. But dessert? Total redemption. Chocolate cake (solid) Berry compote cheesecake (delicious) Pettit's Donut Bread Pudding (absolute game changer) That bread pudding stole the show. I'd come back for that alone. And here's the best part: management comped the entire meal--without us asking. We were told half-off, but they covered it all to compensate for the delays. That kind of service? Huge win in my book. Will I return? Definitely. I live nearby, I love a good Coke Zero on tap, and I'm rooting for Sky Bar to smooth out the bumps. Final Verdict: A few stumbles, but solid effort, great desserts, and top-tier customer service.
