    I have to try this!

This is a cute vintage-style ice cream shop/restaurant. I got the pineapple/strawberry swirl Dole. It was nice but I wish the strawberry flavor was more assertive. My husband saw that they had cappuccino hard ice cream and asked if they could make it into a shake. Unfortunately they can only make shakes from soft serve ice cream. He got it in a dish instead. My daughter got a sundae, and her boyfriend got soft-serve ice cream mixed with Oreos and mint syrup (I can't remember the name they call it at this place but you know the thing I am talking about). Everyone was pleased with what we got, though there wasn't anything with a real "wow" factor. Staff members were nice and the treats came out quickly. The place itself seems a little worn, but that's ok. There have probably been a lot of dates, groups, and families here over the years. Lots of good times, no doubt!

What a perfect treat. Great for drive through, eating outside, and grabbing something sweet inside. They have all the great basics, amazingly priced. The service is quick and friendly. I ordered a chocolate malt and it brought me back to my childhood. That, and a side of fries hit the spot.

    Yummm!

Look...this is an old school, been serving ice cream since the 50s, milk came from the cow across the street and grandma turned it into cream to serve everybody ice cream type of place. Just go get one. It's insanely good and easy. Apparently they serve food too but we only needed that twist. Maybe one of these days we will eat there AND get dessert. GBR!!

Food is decent nothing I would crave though. Split a pork tenderloin and a cheeseburger. Clear winner out of those two was the cheeseburger. Pork tenderloin was a bit bland whereas the cheeseburger tasted fresh and actually pretty good! Fries were crispy and hot but smelled a little sweet, obviously cooked in the same oil as their funnel cakes. My pineapple shake was delicious. May ask for a bit less pineapple next time, a little dated inside but very clean and super nice people!

How have I gone this long without trying Dairy Twist?! This ice cream definitely reminds me of my small town ice cream shop growing up. The Reese's Twister is a must try! They do not skimp on Reeses and the ice cream definitely beats the chain restaurants in the area. I can't wait to return to try some entree items off of the menu. Service was quick and prices were fair. During both of our visits we used the drive-thru vs going inside.

    You can't miss the sign!

This isn't a true review of the whole Dairy Twist experience because I used the drive thru and all I ordered was a vanilla shake. So if you're looking for a comprehensive review, this isn't it. The wait was a bit long, but I wasn't in a hurry. The man who served me apologized for the wait. The drive thru is one window on the side of the building with a circular drive approaching it. I believe it is under newer ownership and they had a few problems with the building but all is well now. I thought the shake was a little thin at first, but it got thicker as I drank it. It had good vanilla flavor and little bits that were probably ice cream not completely mixed in. It was a really hot day so that might be why it was thin at first. I like supporting small local businesses.

I got the twist (medium) and my daughter got the small chocolate.

My #1 favorite soft serve spot EVERRRRR Sooooo delish. We went 3 days in a row to try all the toppings. And hands down the sprinkles is my fav. And twist.

I've wanted to try this place for years. I'll not make that mistake again. First, we were greeted with two door signs and a sign on the counter stating that they charge a 3% "convenience fee" for debit and credit card purchases. They can call it a convenience fee, but it's really just a surcharge and is highly frowned upon in the business world. The second thing to greet us was an overwhelming aroma of stale filth. It's the sort of odor that old, rundown motels have. (To explain, my parents bought old motels, fixed them up, and sold them for a profit. I KNOW the smell of stale filth.) We came for dessert, ice cream specifically. The only hard ice cream was bubble gum, birthday cake, and cherry. A dismal selection. When my husband pointed out that they have sundaes, we were told the only soft serve ice cream flavor they have is vanilla. When we opted for a banana split instead, we were told again that vanilla is all they have. Nothing on the signage stated this, and in fact, still listed strawberry and chocolate as additional flavors. The banana split did not include pineapple, and there was no cherry on top. The chocolate syrup was runny and odd tasting. The marshmallow syrup was fine, but the ice cream had no flavor at all, not even a hint of vanilla. The whipped cream, too, had no flavor, so I can't imagine what chemicals it was made of. The whole thing left a sourish, somewhat bitter after taste. We decided not to order anything else. Between the overall odor and the foul banana split, I can't help but wonder what the condition of the kitchen is, but I certainly was not willing to risk it. There is a reason, I see now, why during prime dinner hour the place was empty. We won't be back, of course, and I certainly can't tell anyone else to try it.

This was my first visit in a long time, as I had not been here since I was a teenager. There have been many mom & pop places we have visited, with some being good, while others were not. This is not one of the good ones. Upon reaching the door, we discovered that they apply a credit/debit surcharge disguised as a "convenience fee". I find this practice despicable and it is frowned upon in the industry. Now for the banana split. The sign said it came with three flavors of ice cream, but during the winter they only have vanilla. Once we started eating it, we quickly discovered how bad it was. It was disgustingly sour. The sour chocolate sauce was too thin, the whipped cream seemed off on the flavor, and the ice cream had no discernable taste to it. To top that, the cashier seemed more interested in flirting with the manager, because while she made the dessert, she continued to chat about who knows what. How about you can the idle chatter while customers are there, hmm? Finally, the overwhelming stale smell was very off-putting. We like to sit, chat, and enjoy the experience, but not with a smell like that. We will not be back, because they proved they do like like repeat business.

There's probably slim chance I'd stop in here on a whim but the dip cones were recommended by a coworker so I've had it on my bookmark list for a while. Unfortunately I don't think it lived up to my expectations. The food (burger, fries, corn dog) were all very average fare. And the dip come (cherry) left a somewhat strange tingling feeling in my mouth with each bite. (Not that that prevented me from eating it all.) Generally middle of the road all around. Not bad. Not exceptional. But also not somewhere I'd drive out of my way to get to.

Cook well but the flavor is missing something with the hot food. Some people might love it. I was sad.

Paid 15.60 for 2 banana splits and they only had hot fudge and half banana in each of them. Would not recommend their banana splits lol

The chicken sandwich and fries were good. Customer service was good. The ice cream was gross. It had an odd bitter taste to it.

I was informed that it's street food and to eat it with my hands... I tried friends. I really did. One bite and it not only was all over my hands and face, half the contents were back on my plate. (I suggest tackling the fillings with a fork first to make the sandwich more manageable.) Food was messily delicious and that dark green sauce made it even better. Huge portions... Friendly service... A+.

Our Supper Club ate at El Arepon recently, and it was such a nice experience!…read more First off, the location can be a little hidden from the main road, but if you use your Maps app, it should take you right there. The interior is fun and bright, with Venezuelan flags hung everywhere, nice wooden chairs and tables, and cute signs on the walls about their beer options and desserts. We spoke with the owner a lot, and he was so friendly and cheerful. He definitely wanted to be sure we all loved our food (which we did!) I started with the Papas Rellenas to share with the table, and they were HEAVENLY. Perfectly seasoned beef and mashed potatoes all fried up in a giant ball. Really good with any of their amazing sauces. And definitely ask for a bottle of each of the sauces, because they are all fantastic in their own ways! I tried an Arepa as well as a bit of a starter, and it was also very tasty! I had tried many arepas in Colombia, and this took me right back there. I had the Catira Arepa, and it was so delicately fried up and then filled with scrumptious chicken, shredded cheese, and some of the amazing house sauce (that's one of the amazing sauces mentioned previously). For my entree, I had the Pastichio, which is a Venezuela "lasagna" dish, with tomato, smoked ham, béchamel sauce, and lots of cheese all melted on top. It was extremely decadent in its richness, and the portion size was huge, so you may have some to take home as leftovers and enjoy later! My husband had the Pepito, which was a giant sandwich full of sliced sausage, carne asade (or another protein of your choice), cabbage, potato chips, and tons of their delicious sauces on top. I got to try it, and it was SO flavorful and satisfying! Another giant portion that will leave you with leftovers, too. We ended the meal with two desserts - the flan and the churros: -The flan was great and super sweet, especially with the added chocolate sauce on top - yum. -The churros were my favorite of the two, as they were soft, warm (obviously freshly made) and also came with a few dips to dunk them in like chocolate and caramel. I'm still dreaming about those churros. With a great owner/staff, fun atmosphere, and out of this world amazing food, I definitely recommend you check out El Arepon for yourself!
