I've driven by Dairy Twist now for many, many years. Finally, Tuesday night, I decided to make the jump and give it a try. I ordered a hamburger and curly fries, and my kiddo ordered a hot dog with regular fries. We ordered at the front counter, and around 5 minutes later our food was brought out to us. We were both impressed. The hamburger was the best burger I've had in awhile. The curly fries were a tad greasy, but they're curly fries! They are supposed to be delicious. I took a small bite of my daughter's hotdog, and it was pretty delicious as well. I didn't try the ice cream, and regretted. So, last night, I invited a friend to Dairy Twist. We both had vanilla malts. She was less than impressed, but I thought the malt was amazing! I will for sure be going back! read more

Great homey ice cream and grill place! The cheeseburgers are delicious - definitely not your typical fast food burger. I've been eating the burgers for a long time now and find it difficult to order anything else. The flavor the burgers get from the grill can't be found anywhere else - you have to try one! All the toppings are freshly sliced every day and help compliment any of the sandwiches. Good ice cream for a good price! I've only been once and I got the cookie dough twister! I got the small size and it was huge! I ate about half and was very full! I've been told that the food is pretty good but hadn't tried it personally. It's pretty outdated and old looking inside and out but it's the ice cream that counts! This place is way better than it's rival: Dairy Queen (one of which is located right down the street). The sign outside says "Best Cheesesteak In Town!" which is an easy thing to accomplish since I don't know of anywhere else in Bellevue to get a Cheesesteak sandwich (Maybe Lansky's, but I think that is technically in Papillion). Too bad I can't really call it a Cheesesteak. DAMMIT PEOPLE YOU HAVE TO HAVE CHEESE WIZ!!! But you can't really hold that against them since I have not been to a single place around here that offers wiz (Looking at you Pepperjax). Anyway the food is great, like I said DQ has nothing on this place. The burgers are fresh, not like generic bland DQ patties, and the fries are really good. My favorite thing to get is the Sloppy Joe, it's cheap and delicious. I also recommend the Grilled Cheese if you are a fan. The only thing they can't do better than DQ is the ice cream, which is pretty much on par with it's competitor. Unless you count the milkshakes which are totally BOMB. If you like DQ, I would recommend trying this place instead. Save yourself some money and the hot food is WAY better. read more

I usually get the Pork tenderloin, which has usually been quite yummy most of the time. Tonight was VERY disappointing. It was over cooked, tough, dry and chewy. Not at all like I usually get. Didn't even eat 1/3 of the sandwich, it was that bad. I don't usually call... but I did tonight, because I was surprised. The guy/mgr working/cooking tonight was argumentative, stating that he didn't cook it any differently than any other time. Obviously he did... as it was NOT the same quality as usual. I tried to discuss with him and let him know that I drive all the way down there tons of other times, just to get their pork tenderloin sandwich, so am very familiar with what its supposed to taste like. His attitude and denial was telling me that it wasn't possible, that he didn't cook it any differently than usual.... as tho I was mistaken or lying about it. He wouldn't take my name or send me a business card in the mail, to provide me (a frequent customer) a replacement tenderloin. He said he would only replace it if I drove all the way back down there and gave him the sandwich back. I explained to him how far away I lived from there and requested he write down my name or send me a 'coupon' of some kind. He wouldn't. The service level (attitude and quality) have been going downhill and this just cemented it for me. I won't be back at all. I do NOT recommend this. Its no longer "best in Omaha" read more

Fine, but not as good as I'd hoped after reading some reviews. I drive by this place pretty much every day since I live in Olde Towne and I see the sign that "Strawberry is Back," so today I decided to try a cheeseburger and strawberry soft serve. Well, strawberry has been discontinued for winter. Ok, understandable, but take it off your billboard! I got my order to go and by the time I got home (less than 5 minutes) the burger was warm at best. The meat and fixings were good, but the bun was subpar and quite thick so it was the main thing I tasted. I'll probably give it another try some time (maybe when strawberry is really back) but I won't be ordering a burger. read more

We found a great local eatery and ice cream place. They have awesome burgers and friendly staff. My boyfriend and I bought different sandwiches and The BF asked to have them cut in halves so we could share. He then jokingly told the guy helping us that he couldn't order onions because I can't eat them and that I couldn't have the tomato because he doesn't like them. Well when our sandwiches came out, this guy brought us a tomato slice and an onion slice so we could enjoy our sandwich halves the way we liked them. How cool is that. read more

We came here this past weekend and ordered curly fries, a hot dog, and a hamburger. I found the staff friendly and helpful. Although the place is clean, it could use some updating. In terms of food, everything was pretty OK. The hot dog was pretty good as was the burger. Unfortunately, the curly fries were not good at all. Given that there are a lot better places to eat in Bellevue and this place wasn't anything special, I most likely won't be back. read more

Best icecream in the omaha/Bellevue area.. food is fenomenal my favorite thing has to be the taco salad

I have gotten ice cream here a dozen or so times over the past two years.. They make great "twisters" and the consistency of the ice cream is great. HOWEVER...two times the ice cream was very sour/spoiled. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back a few more times. Last week was the 3rd time the ice cream was spoiled and I will not be going back. I put it in my mouth an immediately spit it out, it was so sour. Gag!!! When I drove back through the drive through and stated that the ice cream was sour and that I wanted a refund, (the Manager was the one who took my order) gave me a refund but no apology or other questions or communication occurred. Also, when you're sitting in the drive through, they have the back kitchen door open and you can clearly see it is filthy in the kitchen. Old furniture, boards and other junk are always sitting behind the building for all the drive through customers to see when they wait in line. This place has passed its hay day and invests no money into the property, cleanliness or keeping its customers. Stay away for health reasons! read more

I used to love going here years ago, but had forgotten about it. We stopped by my brother in laws in Bellevue today, had the granddaughter with us and decided to stop for ice cream on the way home. When we went in we were not greeted or made to feel welcome, but placed our order, a dipped ice cream bowl, a chocolate malt, and a pineapple sundae. We weren't told that we would have any wait. The owner was working the grill, there was another young man back there with him and the young girl behind the counter. No one seemed very happy to be there or as if they were enjoying their job. We waited ten minutes for our ice cream. After ten minutes, another woman came in and ordered a dipped ice cream bowl for her son. The girl behind the counter made it right then on the spot. We still did not have our ice cream. I asked for a refund stating, that I had been waiting for my ice cream and she made someone else's ice cream before mine. She said that it was because the woman only had one item and told me there were still were still three orders ahead of mine. I had to ask for a refund again and she gave it to me then. We won't be back, the food looks good, but there's lots of other good restaurants in Omaha and Bellevue. It's not worth being treated poorly, and there are other restaurants that have wonderful customer service and know how to make their customers feel welcome. Good luck with your business. read more

Finally made it to Dairy Twist last night, and really like their ice cream. I had a brownie twister, and it was excellent. They also have a legit dinning room to sit in, (Much nicer than Christy Creme, Zesto etc.) Great ice cream at great prices. Will visit again. read more
