Came in here on my last day in Omaha as it was one of the top-rated food stops in town. I was in at 2pm on a Tuesday and there was only one party in front of me. They had a wide-variety of flavors, everything from hot honey cornbread to blueberry basil. I settled on a lemon bar flavor on a sugar cone. My only complaint is that service was just so-so considering there was hardly any customers in the shop. I didn't feel like it was a warm welcome or offer to try anything before deciding. I know this is a popular spot, so perhaps they are used to moving people quickly when they have a crowd. Overall though, the ice cream was great and I loved the unique flavor offerings.
TL; DR: Best ice cream ever. Go here for amazing flavors and waffle cones. This is my favorite ice cream shop ever. Blackstone butterbrickle and brown butter almond brittle are my top 2 flavors. A small cone is great since you get 2 scoops and can mix and match. I'm sure all their other flavors are amazing too, but I can't stop ordering my favorite 2 every time!
Coneflower Creamery is a new twist on modern ice cream, not your old time neighborhood corner ice cream store. Their unique flavors and offbeat combinations make their ice cream a smash hit! We got here ahead of the after dinner crowd and a line formed out the door behind us. Maybe it's because we were trying a bunch of flavors before finally settling on our flavor choices. Theoretically, you can try all the flavors, but that's rude to everybody waiting, so we hurried it up. The scoopers behind the counter were very nice and patient. They use small steel sampling spoons that go into a to wash bucket for reuse, so that is environmentally friendly. The menu is variable and changes every week, so you can try fresh new flavors all the time. Of course, there are the standards like Vanilla Bean and Dark Chocolate, there is also: Classic Flavors - Blackstone Butterbrickle Tart Cherry Crumble Grandma Minnie's Lemon Bar Achetype Coffee Birthday Cake Key Lime Pie Roasted Pistachio Signature Flavors - Blueberry Elderflower Sherbert Lavender Toasted Coconut Brown Butter Almond Brittle Amaretto Cherry w/ Marzipan Cake Peanut Butter Chocolate Shortbread Vegan Chocolate Vegan Banana Chip Vegan Cookies & Cream Vegan Golden Milk Vegan Passion Fruit Sorbet Your choice of S, M, L in a dish, sugar or waffle cone, sundae, ice cream sandwich, float and even your favorite ice cream shop toppings like hot fudge, salted caramel, cherries, peanuts, pecans or almond bits. I got the Brown Butter Almond Brittle in a waffle cone and my wife couldn't decide, so got a scoop each of the Blueberry Elderflower and Lavender. All are rich and mmm mmm good. A perfect way to wind up an evening, licking ice cream and crunching a cone!
Fantastic!! When my husband and I came here in the early evening, 6 or 7, there was a line of about 15-20 people in the store and out the door, but it moved so quickly you hardly had a chance to notice. The staff were working great together and taking care of customers, and the B.B. King record playing, with the warm yellow lighting set a super chill and homey ambiance. There is enough seating at the shop for a few families to sit, inside and outside, and the outside is covered. There were a wide variety of all natural, preservative-free flavors: everything from basic vanilla or chocolate, to fruit flavors, sorbets, and more avant garde combinations for those with adventurous palates. The waffle cone itself was amazeballs. I bit into it and was just like... *starry eyes* Crisp, clean flavor, with lovely vanilla wafting through. No weird aftertaste or texture from strange additives or binders, just the warm flavor of crisply toasted sweet bread. As it should be. Perfection. The ice cream was everything it should be and more. The vanilla had a great balance between cream and milk, and the finish was superb--no weird aftertaste or mouthfeel from high fructose corn syrup or other manufactured ingredients. The bubblegum flavor was so ridiculously pleasant I was giggling through the whole cone. Usually, the artificial flavors in things becomes overwhelming by the time I get to the end of it I can't stand to finish it, but the flavor in this was so mild and delicious the whole way through! The ingenuity behind the natural flavor combinations that produced this is awe inspiring. Thank you!! I also got a locally brewed root beer, which was super great. I like my root beer a little on the spicy side, so it seemed a bit mild to me, but the flavor was there and it tasted super clean. A refreshing accompaniment to our cones. We're definitely looking forward to trying Coneflower Creamery's other locations. 10/10
We hit Coneflower Creamery after a warm zoo day and it hit the spot! Just what we needed to cool off. I don't love parking in Blackstone because it's usually a pain, but I'll make an exception for ice cream. I shared a four-scoop cone with my toddler and it was delicious! We chose lemon cookie and birthday cake. Staff is always friendly and has great recommendations. The dining area is just a large booth inside and a handful of tables outside. If you are in the Omaha area, it's a must stop!
Such a great shop! My only complaint is that there is usually a line out the door but, that normally means you are in the right place . Today I tried their s'mores Sundae and wow it was so good! Everything was home made and fresh! The best part was the toasted marshmallow and the hot fudge. Worth every penny and I will for sure get again.
The s'more's sundae knocked it out of the park! Every thing from the marshmallow, the delicious cookies, to the fudge & combo of vanilla bean and dark chocolate were absolute perfection! The employees made some great taste combo recommendations and we will absolutely be back to try them all out!! I'm surprised at the 8pm closing time during the summer, I saw a few families that were very disappointed to find it closed as we were sitting outside enjoying our sundae.
Nice farm to cone ice cream . Each week they have different flavors . I get to taste 5 different flavors and then I got 2 scoops ( dark chocolate and raspberry sherbet) . My friends have other flavors of the week . They all taste great . There were a line of 10-15 people but they moved fast . Would like to be back soon to try other flavors.
Coneflower is one the best ice cream shop I've ever been to! They always have such fun and interesting flavors and they always taste amazing. The workers are cheery and helpful and always let you try some samples. The place is a little small and doesn't have much seating but they had a few tables inside and outside. I go back all the time!
This place has so many delicious and delightful flavors of ice cream, it was sincerely hard to choose! I ended up with a cherry pie that had the crust and flavor of cherry and was freaking amazing! It was some of the best dessert I have had in a long while! It is so rich and flavorful, and I know the fat content is really high, but it is worth it. They are famous for butter brickle flavor. The service was very friendly and they were patient as I tried at least 5 flavors. The inside is very small and cute but not many places to sit. I heard in the summer there is a line out the door! This place is stellar!

This place is my go to when I wanna get ice cream. So many new flavors and line is always out the door. The service is great. The employees there always smiling and helpful. Samples are always given when asked. My favorite flavor at the moment is Grandma Minnie's lemon bar. Lemon bar taste with that cookie pieces. The inside is nice and good and inviting. Very tiny little ice cream shop but the line moves fast and they offer as many samples as you want. Got the black Forrest cherry and the almond brittle and wow!!!!! Divine flavors and so creamy. Tastes similar to like a van Leeuwen's or a Jeni's. read more
Coneflower has been on my list to try for months and I finally decided to go. Watch out for construction on Farnam and all around this location. It is a chore just to get there due to lane closures, etc. That said, the ice cream is good -- albeit somewhat overpriced, especially if you don't really care about gluten-free and vegan options. I ordered the Scarecrow Sundae and shared it with my wife. Great combination of flavors. Overall, decent ice cream; but I have had better. read more
I love Coneflower!! This will always be one of my favorite places! It's just so small and sweet really gives a mom and pop shop feel. And the Ice-cream is definitely artisan level! They have a ton of fun flavors and lots of vegan/dairy free options! The guy working also took the time for me to try like 7 samples before I decided lol :) I got the lemon bar and the cherry brickle and liked both! My partner got cookie and cream a classic! When in Omaha go to the blackstone part of town. Great bars, restaurants, and coneflower creamery! I went for their feature blackstone butter brickle. It was so smooth and creamy. We were welcomed by a kind employee and got prompt service despite a growing line since it was ice cream time. Cute and clean inside. read more

Wow! Incredible homemade ice cream, waffle cones, and the staff was dressed in old-time soda shop attire. The line out the door was well worth the wait for the best ice cream I have had in a while. I love that they use local farms for fruits in their special ice cream creations. We will be back the next time we are in Omaha! read more
This popular place is commonly noted as the best ice cream in Omaha and has also been recognized nationally. The Butterbrickle is their specialty flavor that they are known for, which tastes similar to toffee. Although I didn't love that flavor, they have a variety of other ones to choose from. My favorite was the cinnamon cheesecake crunch! This place definitely gets busy in the evenings, but the line goes fast. There are only about maybe 10 or fewer spots to sit inside and two tables outside. read more
I am a coneflower fan!! I am definitely bordering on being a regular since I come here so often lol I always take my friends and family to this place whenever they're in town. It's super fun to go because of all the different flavors and I love how they do unlimited samples. The workers there have always been very welcoming and even though there's always a line, it goes by super fast! The interior is very nice and I love how we're able to watch them make the waffle cones at the Blackstone location. The only thing is that it is sometimes hard to find parking around here during peak hours but it's not so bad walking a few blocks in the summer! overall i would give this place a 10/10. read more
I've been in a few times, but never able to review this place until today. I went in with three friends and we all immensely enjoyed our ice cream!! The best way I can describe it, is that coneflower ice cream is the exact representation of its flavor, only an ice cream form. I got the butter brickle, although I was hesitant since this is gluten-free, and I don't typically like gluten-free ice cream, but this may be the best ice cream I've tasted!! I never would've guessed it was gluten-free. The chunks of butter brickle were plentiful, and absolutely delicious. I wish I had gotten all three scoops of this! I tried the mint, but this was not for me... I love, mint chip ice cream, but this was a true representation of mint, or maybe even a thin, mint cookies, then store-bought mint chip ice cream. It was too minty for me and my friends. The other flavor, my friends tried was the lemon bars, which they also raved about, mentioning chunks of lemon bar throughout the ice cream. I can't say enough good things about how delicious and high-quality this ice cream is, there was a line outside the door on a weeknight, despite walking through a pile of snow to get in! If anyone brings up getting ice cream from a local, high-quality shop, this will be my go to going forward! read more
Small must try ice cream shop located at the Blackston District. Ordered 3 scoops: peanut butter chocolate short bread, raspberry oatmeal cream pie and blackstone butterbrickle. $8.38. It's worth every penny. I get why this place is so popular and has a long line after us. I wonder if anyone has ever tried every one of the flavors on one visit. All of the 3 chosen ice creams were tasty and super flavorful. read more
Coneflower creamery is an Omaha institution! There is often a line out the door at this location but it's worth the wait and moves relatively fast. Workers are friendly and efficient. I got the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream on a waffle cone. They must make their waffle cones fresh in house because it's the best waffle cone I've ever had! read more

If you're an ice cream lover, look no further - hands down the best ice cream in Omaha. There will be a line, especially on summer nights, but it is absolutely worth it. The ice cream is made from local ingredients and it absolutely shines through in the final product. You can try a few samples at the counter, but if you are stumped, give their signature Blackstone Butterbrickle a try. read more

By far the best ice cream I have ever had! Even though I just devoured my banana split, writing this review is making me want to go back for another one. You know you're in for a treat when you walk in you are hit with the mouth-watering smell of fresh waffle cones and the sound of upbeat music playing on their old-school record player. Coneflower's focus is farm to table, which not only makes for the most delicious ice cream, but also creates a constantly rotating menu based on what's in season. I love their rotating menu, as they are perfectly able to capture the season in their ice-cream flavors. In the summer they have a lavender honey ice cream that is to DIE for. This past christmas they had a german nut ice cream that absolutley blew my mind. However, their butterbrickle never dissapoints and i can confidently say it is the best ice cream i have had, and will ever have. I love getting their banana split (which is a banana split on steroids). They carmilize their bananas with a torch, and sandwhich your icecream of choice between and top it with fresh whipped cream and a heafty drizzle of their homade fudge. Sprinkled with spanish peanuts and a luxardo cherry on top! The staff is very friendly and helpful and offer samples of the variety of ice cream- which sometimes makes it even harder to pick because the flavors are all that good! If that doesn't sell you into a visit, i don't know what will. Highly recommended adding coneflower to your frequently visited spots in Omaha! read more

Great date place! Come here to enjoy the Blackstone District, go down the road and sing some tunes at Reno's, then stop by for a sweet treat at the U.S.'s #1 ice cream spot! Service is always spectacular! My go-to is vanilla ice cream in a cone, with almond topping! Gf's is chocolate and tart cherry crumble in a cup! read more
We were passing through Omaha as part of an extended road trip from the West Coast to Mid West and my brother had been in town two months ago and said you should stop by here before leaving Omaha. Even though we still had an 9 hour drive to look forward to, we waited until Noon for Coneflower to open before leaving Omaha and boy do we not regret it even though we got in pretty late to our destination. There was three of us and we each got two flavors so we tried six flavors altogether and they were all good. I got Grandma Minnie's Lemon bar and it was delicious and was especially good paired with the other chocolatey flavor (sorry I forgot its name) since it balanced the richness of the chocolate. The ice cream was creamy goodness and my friend even commented they should try to stop by again next year when they make the trek back west. She especially liked the Bricklebutter flavor. The shop has a few tables and seats inside and outside and we were able to street park right outside the store. read more
We finally got the chance to stop Coneflower Creamery last weekend while out and about with friends. There was a decent line when we got there but it moves pretty quickly so don't let the line deter you! Once you get up to the counter you can ready the board of ever changing flavors. They will let you sample to your hearts content but be courteous of the people waiting in line behind you I got a scoop of the Archetype Coffee and Fresh Garden Mint Chocolate Chip. Both were amazing. My husband got the reliable Butterbrickle. He said it was the best butterbrickle he's ever had. The shop is pretty small and there are a few benches inside to sit at and three small tables on the cute, tiny patio. There are also benches along the street that you can sit at to enjoy your ice cream. The Blackstone neighborhood is super cute and is a place that we would like to come back and check out some more. read more

Coneflower Creamery is such a gem! It's a super cute little spot and you can tell why it's a community staple. The staff were incredibly friendly and patient--letting us try multiple flavors and happily answering all our questions. You can tell they really care about the experience. I ended up going with the lemon bar ice cream in a sugar cone, and it was amazing! Tart, sweet, and so refreshing. You can taste how fresh everything is, and their flavors are really creative. read more
