I've been struggling to find good frozen yogurt in Omaha and I found it! Location is nice. Decent selection of flavors and toppings. Lots of sugar free and dairy free options as well (and still taste good). The workers are all very sweet. There's seating inside but I prefer the outdoor seating. Will be back for another fro yo date!

Root Beer Float Shaved Island Ice

I guess you CAN mess up shaved ice. I ordered the root beer float shaved ice but requested no frozen yogurt. I simply said "root beer flavoring with a drizzle of condensed milk on top." First of all, I ordered three shaved ices and it took almost 15 minutes to get them all. That's light years in the eyes of two five year olds. It was clear the employees didn't know what they were doing. One of them struggled with the ice machine and even after the other girl helped her make the shaved ices, all of them came out with chunky ice. Think cheap snow cone ice, not shaved ice- the kind thats super hard to crunch. Anyway, we went with some friends of ours who had their own separate order, which was messed up. They completely forgot my friend's shaved ice. Fast forward to the actual product and it was not good. I don't know if their syrup was old but it didn't taste like anything but flat soda syrup that had been sitting out a few days. Root beer has a distinct and rather strong flavor so I was surprised it tasted like nothing but sugar. They didn't just drizzle the condensed milk, they poured it throughout. I ended up throwing the entire thing away after two bites (and yes, I dug to the bottom thinking the flavor was down there). My son couldn't crunch the ice because it was so chunky and ended up throwing his away as well. I tried my daughter's, and while she seemed to like it, I thought the flavors were ridiculously sweet and artificial. I've had some really good shaved ice before and this is not it. I will say, the employees were very friendly and apologetic and one of them refunded my money, and for that I gave them another star. All in all, the employees weren't the issue. It's better training and better quality ingredients that the shop needs.

The are is lacking in yogurt/icecream places, but this does the trick when you have a desire for froyo! On our visit we were the only customers in the store, employees were nice and yogurt was as expected!

My first visit and got the chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. It's really sweet and heavy. It was not for me.

I don't know about you, but when I go to a gas station, I expect to get pickled mushrooms, Eastern…read moreEuropean delicacies, and Russian beer. What... Is it just me? If you never went in, you'd never think it was anything more than a gas station. Beer at gas stations isn't anything new. But, beer that you could only get at a specialty market? That's pretty cool. Conversely, if you weren't paying attention and you missed the gas pumps, it looks like a specialty market, with a wide selection of things you could never think of buying. Pickled mushrooms? Interesting. Five different kinds of pickled mushrooms? Wow. It IS a specialty market, with a wide selection of things you could never think of buying. Why are there gourmet cookies with a label I can't read? I don't know, but they look delicious. Why is there kratom at the gas station? No idea, but it's pretty cool. Oh...and the gas prices are reasonable, and there is plenty of distancing going on here. I wish I lived here. No, not at the gas station/specialty shop, although that is an idea.

This may seem like a super random and weird place to review, but it needs doing. We were driving by…read morethis gas station and saw "gyros" on the sign. What? What the heck is a gas station doing selling gyros? Obviously we needed to try it, or at the very least look at it. Upon entering the store and looking to the left, there's an entire section for Russian food. We were befuddled, as there's no signage advertising eastern European groceries outside at all. What's more, the entire wall is eastern European food. Seems like an oversight not to advertise, so I felt I had to post. There's freezers full of pierogies, ice creams, cakes, sausages, caviar, and more. There's entire food stands full of Russian chocolates, tea cookies, and desserts. On top of that, they have made to order gyros and Philly cheese steaks. Got the gyro with fries for $6.49 and was astounded by how good it was. The pita was nice and soft, and the meat was plentiful and seasoned well. The veggies and sauce weren't my favorite, but I can overlook those. Turns out the owner of this place also owns the gyro shop in The Food Court on 42nd St, and they know what they are doing. I'll be coming back, but may bring my own homemade sauce. You definitely need to check this place out. Plus, think how hilarious it will be to tell someone you are taking them out to gyros, only to pull up to a gas station.

The flavors are supposed to mimic the Sonic flavors, but they're kinda bland/flat. I was really looking forward to the coconut flavor of the ocean water, but it wasn't strongly present; neither was the blue raspberry flavor. The cherry limeade presented both cherry and lime flavors, but they were weak/watery, and left a chemically taste in the mouth afterward. Both drinks had the overly strong taste and mouthfeel of artificial sweetener, with that bitter flavor at the end, too. I think the fizz is produced by chemical reaction rather than actual carbonated water, though, because the ocean water wasn't very fizzy and the drink was chalky, just like the magnesium powder you can add to regular water does. It tasted like that, too, in fact--more like the citrus flavor of a magnesium citrate supplement drink mix than the coconut-blue raspberry of a Sonic ocean water. The peanut butter protein balls were pretty good for a mid-day snack, though: you can taste the protein powder, peanut butter, and honey. Not bad. The mini Reese's Pieces were a little treat on top. I might be back to try the shakes, but I wasn't blown away by my first meeting with Nutrition 402.
