There's no bread like Great Harvest bread. It has a unique slightly sweet flavor and density that I love. I've been coming to this original location since the one out west closed (a total bummer btw). It smells incredible inside and looks like your well-loved neighborhood bread shop. My favorite bread is the country white round, but they have many more creative flavors, both savory and sweet, that are tasty.

I came in with my 3 year old son. We got mini cinnamon rolls and a slice of cinnamon chip bread with butter and a drip coffee (options were decaf, French roast, donut shop, and hazelnut). We paid less than 10 dollars. Everything was amazing! The service was great. It was our first time and they gave good recommendations and were very accommodating. While I was ordering, I heard another employee coordinating with a customer to pick up a certain product from the other location. There were fun decorations and the vibe was very fun and comfortable. And my favorite things... TABLES!!! It was very comfortable to grab our pastries and walk over to the tables to sit down to eat which is so rare in bakeries. After we ate, we sat and hung out for a little bit and it was still perfectly comfortable. They also have items for sale like fruit spreads, soup mixes, raw honey, cookie kits, and packaged sliced bread. I highly recommend!

Carbs are a girls best friend well at least they are comforting at times and filling. I have always remembered trips to Great Harvest for their free slices as a kid growing up. They are truly an Omaha family staple! So it is sad that they are looking to sell and retire but understandable as they've been baking for so long. The staff at this location and the Dundee one have always been extremely friendly and pleasant. I don't think I've ever had a bad experience at either location. This location has a couple tables outside and some years ago expanded the interior to include more seating as well. Very chill place to just grab a bite, some locally fresh baked bread, or coffee. Not too loud usually so you could easily have a conversation or catch up on emails. My favorite is the popeye! So good and good for you. The asiago pesto was very asiago forward in taste to me. Delicious nonetheless. I'm looking forward to slicing up the Santa Fe cornbread. The kolache is perfection fluffy, creamy, not too sweet but sweet enough to appease the sweet tooth. Highly recommended. And if you're reading this and you or someone you know has interest in running a bread store they have been looking to retire for few years but have thankfully held out for now. **The Santa Fe cornbread is not to be slept on. Will pair perfectly with some chili or a roast. Or just as I enjoyed with some butter & extra honey. Yum! Haven't noticed the corn pieces yet but the jalapeño and cheddar show up for sure.**

This Sourdough Bread is perfection and the Best in Omaha. Watch out for a free slice they offer with butter, you'll just want more, delicious. I'm already planning to go back to get the Apple filled bread for the weekend. Quality ingredients and a classic bakery. Hope they open one in Elkhorn. What a gorgeous gift for a dinner party.

However, when I tried them for myself outside of catering, I actually was semi pleasantly surprised with the options on offer. Yes, they do have those basic sandwiches that were catered in (if you like that, I mean) - but they also have a lot of other items you can add onto sandwiches when you order for yourself. I tried the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich, and added mayo and black olives, and removed the onions. It was actually pretty delicious, but still kind of basic when compared to other sandwich shops in town (Potbelly is my favorite of the similar ones to Pickleman's) I also ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork Mac and Cheese (I know, more pulled pork??). It was alright, but was cold when I got it home, so maybe the container they put it in doesn't retain heat so well. Basic Mac and cheese with a tiny bit of pulled pork on top and bbq sauce. If you couldn't tell, I ordered a few side things in case the sandwich was gross. I also grabbed the Broccoli Cheese soup. Now, when it comes to broccoli cheese soups, the one I measure them all against is the Panera one that comes in a bread bowl. And this was nothing compared to that. Kind of bland and also cold. Now I know you're saying "couldn't you just heat up these cold items?" And to that I say "I shouldn't have to do that, when I literally live a block from the store!" The one bright spot was that the cookies I ordered I ordered were actually pretty good - soft, flavorful, and pretty inexpensive. I would get those again, but not much else from Pickleman's.

We made a reservation for New Year's Eve, which probably affected service, but the restaurant should be prepared for this. They seemed to only have two servers for the entire restaurant, which is not small. Our waiter was friendly and nearly running from table to table, but he had a lot of ground to cover. I ordered the NYE special, which came with a cluster of snow crab legs, a salad, a scallop dish, and a dessert. The crab legs were good, but of course, messy. A wet wipe would have been nice. The salad came out without dressing, but was good once that was corrected, although small for the price. The scallops were served with Brussel's sprouts, pickled radish, and kohlrabi in a sauce. An interesting mix with good flavor, but it only came with four medium sized scallops for $39. My dining companion ordered the whiskey salmon, which had a nice glaze, and some interesting sides, but the fish itself wasn't great. Not very flavorful and a touch dry. Dessert ended up being some coconut chocolate balls and sugar cookies. Similar to the Christmas cookie plates that we've had on the counter for the past several weeks. The Russian tea cakes promised on the menu were nowhere to be seen. Pretty disappointing. We had some nice takeout from here last year and thought it would be even better in the restaurant. Sadly our visit didn't live up to expectations, but you can see what they're going for. It may have been an off night for them due to the holiday, but there are a lot of other restaurants in Omaha we'll check out before trying Sand Point again.

Owned by a trio of dedicated foodies, this restaurant exceeded all my expectations, and their attention to detail shows. The quality of food, the attentive service, and the fastidiously clean and modern interior makes for a welcoming cozy atmosphere. Vote voted best of Omaha 2025 all I can say is they truly deserve it! Located just north of Dodge at 108th St., the restaurant is conveniently situated with a large parking lot and plenty of space for easy access. The restaurant takes reservations, but I had no challenge arriving mid afternoon for my first visit. I was pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. I was presented a fabulous menu plus specials, which made a hard decision even harder. Offering New England fare, I cannot recall since my childhood on the East Coast, where I saw clam strips on the menu, let alone freshly prepared on site. Cooked to perfection and offering a delightful twist, as the clam strips were served with traditional tartar and Chinese sweet-and-sour sauce. I was offered a complementary taste of their cornbread, prepared by the in-house pastry chef, which was by far the best cornbread I've ever enjoyed. The Portuguese fish stew offered a fabulous Bouillabaisse with plenty of muscles, shrimp, and clams as well as chorizo to fill me up! A full bar, plenty of beers on tap, and a lovely wine list offers great pairings with all the menu items. With their anniversary celebration, there will be specials offered, keep your eyes peeled on their website for menu items and wine offerings through the end of the month. I cannot say enough about this restaurant other than I will be back! I encourage you to check out the best of Omaha, or simply the best, at the Sand Point ASAP!

The location on 204th Street in Gretna is clean, open, inviting ... but noisy. It's one of those warehouse-type settings where you really have to work at having a private conversation. Seating is expecially comfortable in the big chairs, but then you have to schootch them close together and lean in so you can hear each other, which is unfortunate. Granted, tables are set far apart, but this should be in addition to. Coffee was delicious, but the beignet bites were just so-so. Granted, one should not expect New Orleans beignets outside of New Orleans, but these little donut puffs had only a light dusting of powdered sugar (which I actually was thankful for because I wore black pants!), and there was a not-overly-pleasant surprise inside with an indistinguishable creamy substance that was sort of like the inside of a brown sugar cinnamon poptart, only less so. I hadn't been expecting that. The yogurt parfait was substantial and delicious. (The staff was friendly and helpful when making selections, but it didn't occur to me to ask about fillings.) I might visit again, but maybe at one of the other locations, if acoustics were more promising.

The ambiance is rather dated, with a very 70s feel to the place. That may be what they're going for, but it didn't put me at ease that the meal would be spectacular. We were seated next to the bar which was straight out of Goodfellas. We could hear every conversation the bartender was having with his regular guests, so it was definitely good eavesdropping material. Our server was fine, there were no complaints there. We started with the Queso Blanco dip, and while it tasted alright, it was pretty similar to the queso blanco Velveeta cheese we bought a few weeks before at the grocery store. It had no "cheese pull" when you dipped your chip in and out, so I suspect it WAS the same Velveeta. I had the Mexican Pot Roast street tacos, on the recommendation of our server. I was not a fan of these in the slightest. The meat was in huge gigantic chunks and very very dry (I almost choked on the dryness at one point). I had to add some of the Velveeta queso to it to even be able to eat any more. The beans and rice saved this one in whatever way a side dish can. The rice was flavorful, almost like a Spanish Rice. The beans were tasty and were absolutely covered with shredded cheese. Mixing the two together in each bite was a good choice. My husband got his old favorite from his previous experiences - the #5, a two enchilada plate. He had it with beef and said it wasn't as great as he remembered, that maybe they changed the recipe a little. I had a few bites and did enjoy the tortilla by itself (no meat) with the enchilada sauce that pooled on the plate. Fernando's is not inexpensive in the slightest, so I can't recommend it to anyone, based on that either. If you want some semi-okay Tex Mex at a pretty big up charge, then give Fernando's a try. I just think you can get a lot more authentic Mexican (for a lot cheaper) elsewhere in Omaha.
