We come here anytime we are visiting Traverse City. It is about a 45-55 min drive away though. But, you can make a whole day in Glen Arbor after. This place has gotten very busy over the years. So plan to stand in line for a bit. Once you place your order the drinks and food comes out pretty quick! I like the style of this shop. It's very bright, clean, and rustic. You can even stay here! We only have come for breakfast and then later morning for sandwiches for the lake. The breakfast and sandwiches are always good. The show stopper are their pastries. They are all soo fresh and flaky croissant. Today I tried to Quiche. You can choose from gravy, bacon and jam, or veggie for the toppings. I went with veggies. Very good. So good everyone stole a bite haha. The outdoor seating is beautiful, and the indoor is very beautiful as well.

Tasty lunch that felt both cozy and slightly upscale. I got a Fisherman's Stew which was warming and hearty, but not heavy. Also beautifully presented. And split a couple of cookies with friends. Really enjoyed the ginger cardamom one! If hungry, I would recommend getting a couple items (like pick 2 between their soups, salads, and sandwiches). The portions were on the smaller end.

During a heat wave: Hands down best ajo blanco soup and matcha lemonade of my life. FLAVORFUL! Got the (new to the menu) $14 cherry tomato salad.... amazing! Would get again and again. The Indian family next to us asked our advice and I exuberantly said to get the tomato salad as well, which has Indian spices in it, and they loved it and said how excellent it was too! Also great service should be mentioned.

Easily one of the prettiest and most historic coffee shops I've been to! I opted for their vanilla bean oat milk latte, which was absolutely wonderful. I went shortly after open, so selection of pastries was abundant as well as wait time being short and quick. The service was great, but the deck and dock as the sun rose over Crystal River, which the Mill sits on, was just a perfect peaceful pairing for my morning sip. Thank you, and I cannot wait to be back!

Absolutely best dinner experience! From the service to the incredible food and ambiance. Our table of 7 had the asparagus salad, cucumbers, scallops, duck meat balls, hash browns, sweet potato, a burger and a few orders of the teres major. For dessert we finished with the cheesecake, dark chocolate and the sourdough ice cream. Everything was nice and light with fresh ingredients. Each dish was made with thoughtful and cohesive flavors. I can't wait to come back. This will be a new staple in our annual trip to Glen Arbor.

We loved the setting. The crystal river is beautiful and the historic building has been restored perfectly! I am so thrilled this old building has been saved! Now the food... it was delicious but it was super expensive. We ordered two sandwiches for a whooping $41.00. The sandwiches were delicious but a bit over our lunch budget. I would have loved a flavored iced tea or a soda of some type but the options were limited to coffee, wine, or a couple of juices. We opted for water. The sandwiches were premade meaning we could not remove any items. The bread was fresh baked and delicious. Overall it was a good stop but expensive.

We stopped for lunch on a snowy Tuesday, and were greeted warmly in the cafe. The owners have preserved much of the old mill, including original beams, walls, and flooring. The person behind the counter explained the lunch setup, and answered all our newby questions patiently. The lunch menu offers some old favorites as well as novel selections. I had the Gruyère, collards, and mushroom sandwich, served hot. There is wine by the glass on offer, as well as beer. I had a rioja which was a good pairing for the sandwich. Speaking of which, the sandwich was super yummy and enormous. I'm a big eater and I couldn't finish it. When we come back in the summer we'll be back to The Mill for dinner.

Lovely setting but very slow service. Doesn't seem they are ready for the season. Took over an hour to get 2 sandwiches.

At about 14 a2 to $15 apiece this is one of the rare exceptions where it is a good value because you will get two meals out of each sandwich. We ordered a Tripoli (ham, turkey, salami, and provolone, lettuce, and tomato) and a Gaza ( curried chicken, lettuce, tomato, shredded carrot, and peas) both on rye bread. Both sandwiches were made with high-quality ingredients and we would definitely recommend either of them. Again, I cannot stress it enough, the sandwiches are enormous, and you really should share. it feels like a grammar school, kind of a cafeteria, it's modern and clean, but not particularly in inviting or appealing or charming in any way. Service was patient with his first time, kind, and very helpful. Recommend!! I'd like to return in the future and try their bagels. I'm disappointed that I came at lunchtime and all they had left with cinnamon raisin and I'm not a fan of raisins so... Next time!

In these harder times, this restaurant needs more help. College kids were back in school. The tables were kind of greasy. Only two servers, who were very good, were exhausted. We were dining with a 2 year old, who was a little difficult and our kind waitress put in the order for the children right away. Their cheese pizza looked great. Nice call. Our orders came out not too long after, which makes me question, "How do you cook fish in less than 10 minutes, with a fresh vegetable? I ordered the wall eye with pesto and it came with zucchini. Everything was just all right. NOT a hot meal. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm, the fish seemed like it was cooked an hour ago and the zucchini was soggy with oil. The ribs are their best to claim, and were good. However, they also seemed like just warmed up with the BBQ sauce because my son said they were cold and he should have sent them back. There is outside seating but mostly bar counter height chairs so we chose to eat indoors, which was very nice. IF the food was cooked to order, and the food was HOT, and the tables were cleaned properly, it would rate a 5! in my book. However, not this time. I eat here at least 4 times per year, so hopefully next time, it will be better! I pray they do not close this gem on M-22 in downtown Glen Arbor. See you next time!
