What a cute place for special occasion! The Melting Pot offers a fun, interactive dining experience that feels celebratory and different from a typical night out. We came here for our nephew's birthday and they had balloons and decorations for the table. Also got a cute little stuffed animal with a pic taken of us and printed right before the courses came out. The fondue courses are flavorful and well-paced, and the atmosphere is perfect for family night. We got the vegetarian options and they were considerate about everything we ordered. The banana foster pot for dessert was something else. I'll be thinking about it for a while especially with the fire show! While it's definitely on the pricier side I think it's worth it for special occasions and would definitely be back!

I had dinner at The Melting Pot with my close friend and her family on the last day of HRW 2023. The three course dinner menu was $39. I started with the White Peach Cosmo and it was good. 1st Course: We went with the Spinach Artichoke Cheese Fondue. It came with bread, chips, apples, and veggies (broccoli & cauliflower). It was very flavorful and I enjoyed it. The portion was large and it was plenty for four people. 2nd Course: They have five cooking styles to choose from and one cook top per table, so we had to agree on which cooking style we wanted to do. We opted for the cast iron grill. I ordered the Steak Lovers which was an additional charge. It came with Premium Filet Mignon, Teriyaki-Marinated Steak, and Garlic Pepper Steak. My friend ordered the Land and Sea. It came with 5 dipping sauces. I can't remember all of the flavors, but I did like them. The steak was tender and flavorful. It also came with mushrooms, asparagus, and zucchini which we were able to grill. The veggies were good, but the amount could have been a little more (especially since I don't eat mushrooms). 3rd Course: For dessert we chose the Milk Chocolate Fondue. It came with an assortment of fruit, cakes, and pastries to dip. It was yummy. Our server was nice. She was bilingual which was helpful for my friend's husband. If you're doing multiple courses, plan to be there for a couple of hours. This was definitely a dining experience and it was a nice way to finish off HRW.

The fondue concept has been around for decades. The Melting Pot has definitely figured it out and is the leading fondue dining experience. I previously dined at a location in Charlotte NC. My 19-year-old niece selected this as her dine out treat while home from college. On Wednesdays, there is a BFFF (Best Fondue Friends Forever) promotion to encourage friends to come in on a less romance-filled, lighter weeknight. However, we ended up opting for the 4-course meal for two ($118). We also each selected the create your own entrée option. Which offered more flexible design of your proteins. Both my niece and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We felt like we had plenty to eat. It took about two hours to have a leisurely dinner. We also both agreed that if we went back next time, we might order our a la cart because we really didn't need the salads. And I felt my salad was completely overdressed. Our service was excellent, friendly, and just the right amount of attention. And while some concepts like this - that been around forever -- are starting to show their age; The Melting Pot was classic and enjoyable. And I would definitely go back.

My daughter had gotten the highest marks in her class, so my dad asked me to take her somewhere nice on him. My kid loves fondue, so I figured what better place than here. We got there for lunch on a Sunday and they were not busy. On the reservation I checked the box that it was for a special occasion but the waiter didn't bother asking nor did they do anything special. I mean, that's fine and all. But why is there that box on their reservations app then? Good grief. We decided to do a 4 course. It felt kinda rushed to be honest with you. The salad came out before we were halfway done with the cheese fondue. And then entree before we were done with the salad. I'm a fast eater but this was ridiculous. Also I noticed the portions weren't always the same for me and my kid. Like I get it for the entree it's supposed to be like that but for example, she got a chocolate marshmallow looking thing for desert on the turtle fondue but I didn't. And there was only one. So what to do? Additional dippers are free for the chocolate fondue. But after I paid the waiter he never returned with the additional dippers we asked for (we just asked for only a couple of items, not like a whole another round). I had given him a 15% tip although 20% is the lowest tip on the machine they hand you to pay at your table (they hover over your shoulder while you figure the tip). So maybe he wasn't happy with 15%. Or maybe he just didn't care after getting the money. Some tips: The food looks paltry but I think if you eat slowly like the experience is supposed to be (not ours) then it actually fills you up. Kids portions are available for the entree. And it's just smaller. But the cheese and chocolate they share the same pot as the adult. If there's just 1 adult and 1 child then you could pay half price for a 4 course meal and add on the kids option. They're flexible like that. The cheese pot looks deep but it's actually not that deep (see video). We had a lot of bread leftover without anymore cheese to dip it in. Land and sea was pretty good. The seasoning still hangs on despite it being dunked. There's 6 dipping sauces too. They also give you some veggies (potatoes, mushrooms and broccoli). Best to put all those veggies in the entree broth. Just let it soak up the broth. Overall I somewhat disappointing meal given the customer service. Good customer service can make a meal great or mediocre. Or downright bad. For us, it made what might have otherwise been a 5 star meal just 3 stars.

This has been on my list of places to try for a while, and I'm so glad I finally made it here! We got the spinach artichoke (Butterkäse, Fontina, Parmesan, Spinach, Artichoke Hearts, Garlic, Tabasco) as the starter. It came with pretzel bread, sliced baguette, carrots, cauliflower, broccoli, and green apple chunks. The dip was good, but it didn't have much garlic flavor (maybe they went light so guests' breaths didn't smell in the small booths lol). I think it would have been tastier if the breads had been a little toasted. I did appreciate how the waiter offered extra dippers with the starter. For the main course, we got the the Chicken Breast, Shrimp, Teriyaki-Marinated Steak for one of the entrees and the Shrimp, Memphis-Style Dry Rub Pork, Teriyaki-Marinated Steak, Garlic Pepper Steak, and Herb-Crusted Chicken Breast for the other entree. We chose the mojo cooking style (Caribbean-Inspired Garlic, Cilantro, Citrus); it was basically a broth that we boiled all the food in. My favorites were the garlic pepper steak and teriyaki steak. The entrees also came with some mushrooms, potatoes, and broccoli to cook and a slew of sauces to dip everything in (a curry sauce, plum sauce, sweet chili, green goddess, lemon aioli, and a couple others). Next time, I'd ask for more vegetables to dip to help balance the meat. For dessert, we got the s'mores (milk chocolate, marshmallow crème that is flambéed, topped with graham cracker). It came with chunks of brownies, Rice Krispies, pound cake, Oreo covered marshmallows, blondie, waffle, strawberries, and bananas. The chocolate was good, but the graham crackers ended up tasting burnt and gassy in an unpleasant way. I think the waiter added them too soon while the marshmallow was being toasted. The service was good overall, and it was definitely more of interactive dinner experience than typical places. The restaurant was clean, and the booths were cozy. Note that if you're sitting at a smaller table, then you and whoever you go with might have to share the same cooking style. Also, we were told that everything had to be at least portioned for two (i.e. you can't just order one portion of the starter cheese dip or dessert). The parking lot was spacious.

I love this place! The food, the customer service, the vibe: all great! Def will go back. Yes it's a bit pricy and it's more intimate, like meant for couples and tight-nit individuals such as families & close friends. You end up laughing/ bonding with the staff & your table because you don't know how your food is going to turn out. (Our hot plate was sensitive & cooked super quick so we were pretty much constantly turning instead of the recommend 2 min per side.) You would NOT want to be here if you hate: 1.) cooking, 2.) experimenting with food, or 3.) the person you're with. (No seriously, a business meeting with a party of two in a tiny booth? That would get extremely awkward.) Small learning curve. The small but plentiful portions may be a turn off to some. My husband took me for my birthday & he got the birthday special. Very lovely. Loved the staff-signed card, chocolate cover strawberries & wine. We had the Bigger Night Out Dinners for Two with lobster: spinach artichoke fondue is like crack, Caesar salads, not exactly what we expected with candied nuts but very good, cast iron grilled style land & sea, & the Framing turtle for dessert was awesome! My only issue was with the lack of seasoning, we got lucky & our server recommend one. Without it & just depending on sauces it would have been very fresh, tender yet VERY bland. My husband ordered 3 of the whiskey businesses, they were strong & delicious.

We absolutely loved the Harry Potter themed event!! Please do more of these Events. It was so much fun and the food was super yummy and an affordable price. Our waiter was great and I loved how the staff got into the spirit of the event. We were happy to get a bigger booth this time on the side. Very nice atmosphere.

We had reservations for 3 people. I haven't been here in over 20 years. It's amazing the place is still open. Inside it looks remodeled and it's huge (I kept getting lost from the bathroom to my table ). We got seated right away. We ordered from the restaurant week menu. Baked potato cheese with bread, Vegetable broth with veggies and the seafood with beef/ chicken, milk chocolate fondue for dessert. kids are $28 so not cheap. Drinks I got the passion fruit paloma (no passion fruit flavor at all). Overall we had a good filling meal and great service.

Service was fast, and what seemed like a seemingly small building was actually bustling. We ordered the Best of Both Worlds option and requested the Spicy Bone Marrow along with the Tomato Broth; they complement each other quite well, with the Spicy Bone Marrow being our personal favorite. It is definitely spicy, but nothing that I couldn't handle. The Tomato Broth was delicious as well, but added a nice sweetness to our meal. We chose the Classic All-You-Can-Eat lunch deal, and ordered a plate of the Natural Prime-Aged Lamb, the Hand Sliced Beef Short Plate, the Marinated Garlic Beef, and the Pork Belly; I can't say I'm a huge fan of how they divided the meat selections, however, since I could get premium meat elsewhere without being limited. But overall, the meat was of decent quality, and the buffet offered various options. Compared to other hot pot places, they even had a section where you could serve yourself egg rolls, white rice/fried rice, and stir-fried noodles, though I can't speak to the quality... very much buffet-quality if you catch my drift, but still lovely nonetheless. Similarly, you can fetch your own iced drinks and dessert too. I do wish Happy Lamb's sauce station had special pre-made flavors or instructions for making them, much like Shabu Zone or Haidilao; sometimes I don't trust myself to freestyle my own sauce. There are some cross-contamination concerns as well, since there'd be about 4 tongs at foot/pants level, but at least 9 food options (e.g., noodles, dumplings, veggies) to choose from. Not sure if other people share the same sentiment, but I guess they all get boiled in the end anyway. Overall, it's a decent option if you're in Downtown Houston! But I wouldn't call Happy Lamb my go-to spot.

Inside it's a nice restaurant with an upscale feel to it. I ordered a house salad for $9 to start and the Pasta Rosa entree for another $28. The salad arrived first with a generous amount of romaine lettuce with diced tomatoes, cucumber, shredded carrots and chopped eggs on top. With my chosen ranch dressing it was a good tasting salad. The Pasta Rosa dish had sliced Parmesan strips on top of penne with shrimp, crawfish and sausage for the protein with mushrooms and a tomato cream sauce. This meal initially tricked me. My first impression was that while there was plenty of protein the taste of the tomato cream sauce was lacking some flavor. I expected more. However as I kept eating and getting beyond the top layer of the food the flavor increased significantly. I think that the proteins caused the sauce in the lower half of the dish to create more punch. This dish got better and better and I changed my mind. It turned out to be a very good tasting and filling meal. Finally the table service was very good too. P.S. I also tried part of another appetizer which was the bar b q shrimp for $16. They were tasty. I like Rouxpour and would return. My only negative is that their prices are a little on the high side in my opinion.

This cucumber based cocktail was very refreshing! I also had a Clover Club which I enjoyed (I love the egg white)! Fried Deviled Egg - I opted to add caviar for an additional $8. We also decided to purchase some chocolate. The person at the till showed us a couple of chocolate box options, and we chose the large one to fill with amazing and interesting chocolates. Yummmm We also asked for a bar of the viral Dubai chocolate bar. The employee said he had already added it to our box! We asked him twice, and he agreed. We complimented his stealth and efficiency. He even charged for it. When we got home, the Dubai chocolate was nowhere to be found. It wasn't in the box, the bag, or anywhere else, but there was definitely an additional charge on our receipt for it. Why did the employee double down on confirming that it was in the bag if it wasn't? While I want to assume it was an innocent mistake, this was an utterly disappointing customer service experience, even though it had a really welcoming vibe set up by the Syrian traditional family and their history depicted on the walls. I'll think twice before visiting this place again, despite its lovely family history.

They initially…read moreremoved the fava beans from our cheese board but they gave it to us on the side after we asked about it. Fava beans aren't nuts! Parking: Tons of parking here surprisingly, both a paved lot and a pebble lot. We had a reservation for 3 at 7PM and were promptly seated at a booth after a small line of people. Order-to-Appetizer: 15 Minutes Order-to-Entrees: 30 MInutes For three people, we ordered: Dairymaid's Cheese Board (4/5): Comes with four cheeses, five small pieces of sourdough, honey-spritzed grapes, green Granny Smith apples, and fava beans. I wish they gave us more bread with the cheeses and preserves. The four cheeses provided were slices of a five-year aged Cheddar, Oveja Anejo, Tomarashi, and Gruyere. I enjoyed the Tomarashi the most. It is a bit pricey for what you get, but very sharable and a great starter. Shady Acres Pizza with prosciutto (3.5/5): I really don't like getting thin crust pizza that isn't crispy, and unfortunately this was a soggy thin crust pizza. The toppings themselves were very flavorful, and the end parts were crispy enough. 5 Cheese Calzone with chicken (3.5/5): Whew, five cheeses makes for a salty calzone. The side marinara sauce provides a good balance. It's very filling. Chicken might have been a good addition because prosciutto might have made it too salty. It was larger than expected which was nice for sharability. Service was kind of iffy. They were pretty rude with not providing us utensils and seeming almost angry that we asked for some for the cheese board. They mixed up our order (we asked for chicken on the pizza and prosciutto on the calzone and they flipped it) and seemed almost apologetically serving us afterwards. Overall, would recommend as a relaxed date spot at a reasonable price. I paid via inKind and applied referral credit with no issues. Would come back with inKind credit, probably not at full price.

The Carajillo is made perfectly, Oaxacan connection was good, did not enjoy the Mexican martini or margarita. Patio is shaded which is great, so we usually sit outside with the ambience of the lake and large trees. Service is also great, shout out to Cullen he was truly fantastic on our anniversary dinner night. Recommend any of their crab stuffed fish (have had snapper and flounder), also the sea bass. The scallops appetizer was perfectly flavored and cooked as well. Quickly became my favorite seafood restaurant!!!

My daughters and I chose Rouxpour for our annual Mothers Day event. We made a reservation and…read morearrived a bit early. We were quickly seated and greeted by our server Danny. Since it was Mother's Day, there were more tables than usual making the dining space tight and hard to maneuver for the guests and staff. Danny quickly took our drink orders and then our food orders. They had a special menu for Mother's Day, and still offered their full menu as well. We opted for the chargrilled oysters and deviled eggs with shrimp for appetizers, scallops, ettoufe , and asparagus with jumbo lump crab for entrees. All the food was still the excellent quality provided on many of my visits. Half way through the meal and prior to our entrees coming, a party of 8 arrived and I asked if we could move to a vacant table along the back windows to give the group more space and the staff graciously accommodated us and helped us move. Great service, excellent food and drinks.
