My boyfriend took me here for my birthday. It was extremely crowded, and they were very busy, but the service was still on point. We were escorted to our table, and immediately, our server, Anthony, came. He explained the menu and how things worked since it was our first time. I had such a great time here today. I was provided excellent service by Mickey J. Everything was delicious. You really have to pick the right food choices and cooking styles for your liking. I chose the cast iron and asked for some olive oil to base the skillet. Mickey J, brought out some Garlic seasoning, grounded pepper and sea salt, which cooked and seasoned the meat and vegetables perfectly. I felt like an Iron Chef on that grill today lol. Failed Successfully: Yesterday my wife and I visited The Melting Pot for our 5 year anniversary dinner. When we arrived the front staff was very nice, and one of the hostess seated us at a booth in the rear. On the way she asked if we were celebrating a special occasion, and we informed her that it was our anniversary. To which she says she'd let our server know (more to come on this later on in the review). We sat looking at the menu for a few minutes before server arrived, and he was very nice. He was quick to build a rapport wth us, and it was safe to say that my wife and I liked him immediately. From there he took our drink orders, and explained to process for us because it was our first time. We opted for the unlimited entrees package, and our server was very helpful with recommendations ( all of which turned out fantastic). Afterwards our drinks came followed shortly by the cheese fondue portion of the meal which was delicious. Here is where things go left: After we were seated, there was a party of 6 seated across from us, a party of about 4 behind them, and a party of maybe 4 behind us. All within a 5 minute span. We were all sharing the same server, and we were roughly all eating on the same time frame. Thats 16 people spread over 4 tables, sat at roughly the same time. This is the melting pot, so it's not just look over the menu and pic what you want, and both our table and 4 out of the 6 people at the table across from us were first timers. We finished out cheese fondue, and our second round of drinks. The entree portion came out, and we were waiting to order more drinks but out server never came back for like 30 minutes. Another person had actually brought our food to the table, but nobody came back to check on us. The lady to the rear started making comments at her table, and so I could tell she was having the same issues. Maybe about 5 minutes later I heard her speaking harshly to our server. I left the table to use the restroom and when I returned our server was back at the 6 person table (he had mainly been bouncing back and forth from that table and the one behind them). I asked him if everything was good, or if he had been removed as the server from our table. He informed me that he WAS still our server, but he had requested help from other staff members, because he had so much on his hands at the moment. We briefly spoke long enough for me to put in our second entree, but things continued to go downhill afterwards. I then sat back down with my wife, and waited a few more minutes before I got up and went to speak to someone at the front. I informed the people at the front that our server (Jarell - Juh-Rell) i'm not sure of the spelling, so sorry, was doing a great job at first, but he's swamped. The lady behind us had apparently gotten into a spat with the manager before I walked up, and had stormed out. This kid was just being completely overwhelmed, and it wasn't fair at all. The table of 6 was putting in order after order of drinks, and asking questions, having to change things, and then their food came out missing items, and he was going back and forth to correct mistakes. They were drunk before the entrees got there, and really taking up a lot of time. When he got away the table behind them were doing the same. He really wasn't ignoring us, he just didn't have the time to serve us and the help that he said he requested didn't come. He had mentioned to us that he hadn't been there long, but even if he had been having 4 tables back to back in the same section (sat at the same time) was a bit much. One server even made a rude comment to him as he passed by telling him that he was in his way, or "in his blind spot." The whole time Jarell kept a friendly demeanor, and just tried to get everything done. Afterwards he came back to our table to apologize, but we told him there was no need for it. We mentioned to him that we were here for our 5 year anniversary, and he was surprised, and said congratulations. Which meant what the hostess that sat us definitely HAD NOT told him about our special occasion as she said she would when she sat us. Anyways, He got back to the great service that he started with, and we finished our visit on a good note. I honestly cannot say enough good things about our server. He was dealt a bad hand last night, but handled it with a level of professionalism that I don't think i've ever seen displayed by anyone in the food service industry, and definitely not by someone so young. As far as the food, We enjoyed the Bourbon bacon cheddar cheese fondue (a lot). The California salad was bomb. We got the premium endless entrees with the mojo broth (so much flavor), and the flaming turtle chocolate fondue was epic. Towards the end we just started throwing everything in the pot and dividing it up. We used the search and rescue spoon to get everything out. All in all 45 minutes out of our 3 hours was rough, but we still enjoyed our evening. read more

Food as good as usual but slow service dampened the evening. The table wasn't ready until about 15 minutes after our reservation, and in hindsight, that foreshadowed the rest of the meal. The layout of this MP was similar to other locations I've been to, where the restaurant space is made up of alcoves with clusters of tables rather than one big open space, this building just noticeably older. Our waiter promptly brought us waters once seated, but the mixed drinks took a solid 20 minutes to arrive. We were almost finished with the cheese fondue by then. We also did not have utensils at our table so once the cheese was mixed and ready for us, we got to stare at it for another 2 minutes before we were able to dig in. No one followed up after that, and the empty cheese bowl then sat finished for 10 minutes while we waited for our waiter to come by and take the chocolate fondue order. Then, another 10 minutes later, our waiter came by again to take the chocolate order and we reminded that we already had placed it. The chocolate was brought soon after that, but it was between room temp and lukewarm after waiting a few minutes so we turned up the burner temperature ourselves and stirred and waited until it was warm. Had one of these delays happened I would not fault them, but all of the waiting compiled was disappointing. I think our poor waiter was tired, but I'm also willing to bet that the alcove style layout of the place combined with tall backed booths does not allow line of sight for waiters to keep tabs on each of their tables like other restaurants. At the end of the meal we were brought a card reader directly to the table to pay. We did not ask for a receipt and I did not ask my boyfriend what the total charge was until after we left, but based on the total before tax and tip I suspect our drinks had been left off the tab. This wasn't mentioned to us, so I'm not sure whether it was intentional or accidental. Either way, it seemed to balance the evening out. I love fondue and MP, but I wouldn't return to this location. read more

Made reservations for 6:30 on 2/15/25, a Saturday night. They were offering a 5 course Valentine's meal for $89/person. Since my husband proposed to me here a couple years earlier, figured we'd go back. The place was packed. The hostess and other restaurant staff acted as if they didn't know what they were doing. Very confused and told everyone "we're clearing off tables. Yours will be ready soon." I believe we were seated around 6:40 which wasn't bad. The server, while nice, was very slow. We were there for almost 2.5 hours. First came the appetizer of shrimp cocktail. Can't even describe our shock with two short skewers with two somewhat large shrimp in each one was served place over a PLASTIC 6 oz clear cup with a squirt of cocktail sauce at the bottom. I just shook my head. They were only offering three types of broth fondue, but we asked for oil and they obliged at no extra cost, which was nice. We had a mediocre salad as second course. Cheese fondue was yummy. Main course was good. Had chicken, beef, salmon, shrimp and ravioli. More than enough for for both of us. The dessert crème brûlée fondue was overly sweet. I'm giving two stars for the following reasons: long time between courses, very highly priced for an average meal. Oh and we were told at the end we needed to pick an after dinner drink and then we were charged for it. I just wanted to leave so didn't say anything. And finally, the restaurant needs to be updated. The atmosphere is very dark, the tables are well worn, and the overall ambiance is pretty dismal. We will likely never go back. Food - good - all the courses Service was so awful that my husband and I had to laugh about it on the way home. We came for my birthday dinner, which was noted in the reservation and my husband reminded the waitress of when we ordered drinks. As drinks were ordered, she said the beer he wanted wasn't available but she wasn't 100%, so he picked a second choice, too. We also each ordered a soda. When we ordered, we also asked for extra teriyaki sauce w the meats because we love it and didn't want to make her run an extra trip. My alcoholic drink comes and you guessed it, no drink for my husband or sodas for either of us. Finally with the second course our waitress stops by and we ask about his drink, she forgot but will put it in now. By the third course his drink arrives. Our sodas never did arrive. Third course (meats) was brought to us by the manager and no extra sauce was there. No biggie, we asked him for it instead. Neither of them ends up bringing the sauce, and we finally find our waitress halfway through the course to ask for more sauce. It finally arrived when we were already done with the meats. Final course was dessert, and the manager brings over the wrong chocolate than we ordered. Finally he comes back with the one we ordered. We were really bummed that there was no recognition of my bday - we put it in the res and my husband reminded the waitress at top of meal. We come here on bdays almost annually and they've always been recognized before. I want to note that it didn't seem to be the waitress or managers fault, more so that there just were more guests than the staff could handle. Melting pot is a unique restaurant especially given the other restaurants in the Annapolis area. The food was really good, especially the fondue style of food. The only thing with this restaurant is that you should not expect to sit idle while your food is served, you will be the one doing most of the cooking at the table! You are served raw product and given instructions on how to properly cook it in the group ordered oil that is heated at the table. The food is still really delicious with the food being fresh and seasoned well. Only thing with Melting pot is that you should expect to be there a longtime, ours was a 3 and a half hour dining experience for our party of 6. Also, it is very pricey and truthfully is not really worth the price to go there more than once. It's definitely worth going at least once for the experience but not a place we would go back regularly. read more

We took advantage of Annapolis' restaurant week by going to their lunch special. For 15.95 we got cheese fondue, a salad, AND dessert fondue! Crazy! Food: the spinach artichoke fondue was amazing, I'd recommend it to anyone. The broccoli and the bread bits worked the best with this fondue. Pro-tip: the servers can bring back more of your favorite dippers free of charge, so be sure to ask for some before they leave the table. The orchard salad was also great but ask for dressing on the side, it was a little over poured on my friend's salad. The S'mores fondue had a beautiful aesthetic appeal to it, especially watching the marshmallow burn in front of you. The waffle and strawberries were our favorite dippers in this one. The chocolate was almost too strong and wouldn't recommend those one to people who aren't crazy for milk chocolate. Service: make reservations ahead of time!! Very accommodating! Quick service and very willing to answer questions for any newcomers. Atmosphere: perfect for date nights. The booths are set up to be very secluded feeling and intimate. They're also big enough for double dates if you prefer that. The lighting is almost too dark to the point of making diners feel sleepy, so careful with your choice of wine that day! read more

The service is spot on; attentive and friendly. We started the evening with the fiesta cheese appetizer. It came with veggies, apples, assorted bread and tortilla chips. It was hot, melty cheese with a nice kick. What's not to love? We ordered the Fondue delight for dinner. It came with veggies, filet, lobster, shrimp, chicken and a mushroom "purse". It was perfect with our chosen broth, the mojo. For dessert, we ordered the s'more option. It was divine! Milk chocolate with marshmallow set a flame and then topped with graham crackers. At the Melting Pot I have found that while the private experience is lovely interacting with the servers provides an even better time. Our server Michael took time out of his busy Saturday night to go more than beyond out of his way for us whether it was explanations, extra drinks, or sauces. I believe that people often carry such high expectations for servers at The Melting Pot but they are humans and can't do everything. I hope that everyone comes in with a little patience because unlike any other place the server's take time for you and not because they need to but because they want to. My husband and I had one of the best nights of our lives because of everything Michael did for us. He made us feel like a part of the family. We arrived on time for our reservation and was told that we had a 15-20 minute wait, which was Irritating to me because I was excited to eat here. Service is going down hill to the point where I'm going to take my special occasions to another Melting Pot location. Food was good, though, so that's why I rated 3 stars. We were seated slightly early, and when the hostess asked if we were celebrating anything, we said it was for our daughter's birthday. I also put that on the Open Table reservation. All of that got ignored. Waiter never asked why we were there. No celebration. At first, the waiter came out timely and brought out drinks and cheese fondue timely. Salads and entrees were timely. But then he ghosted us. Never brought the extra sauces we asked for, until the very end. Never checked on drinks for refills. I couldn't call a manager over for help because I never saw one. After 20 minutes of staring at empty plates and empty glasses, I went to the hostess stand to find our waiter. I'm sorry, but when I'm paying $250 for a meal, I do not expect to have to have to hunt down the waiter to finish taking the order so we can get out of there. As it was, we had not yet placed the chocolate fondue order, and we had already exceeded the reservation time (2 hours) solely because of our inattentive waiter. read more
