Woohoo! I do love a new restaurant and Fondue does not disappoint. Service wise, is got here on a Friday night at 17:30, had no issue getting in and was greeted by Alex the bartender. She was very plesant the whole time I was here, just the right amout of attentive too, absolutely flawless service. Ambiance, man does this place shine. Its quiet, which is very plesant whether in a party or alone. The only native sound in the restaurant is the HVAC blowing, otherwise its conversation making this place feel natural, not forced, and very lively. The physical appearance is laid back, theres wood everywhere, the stone bar, and cutting boards on the wall just bring a perfect little pop to the restaurant. If you look up near the entrance you're greeted by a full green wall, they may or may not be real, I'm not sure but it was a welcome sight nonetheless. Let's move in to food while I'm rambling on. The cheese fondue was a delight, and the dinner fondue was as well. A scrumptious blend of indulgent cheese and hearty broth made for a great dinner. Plus, of course the proteins, vegetables and fruits that come as dippers (cant forget the dippers!) Really its a great experience. All in all, I cannot recommend it enough you'll be very happy with your decision! Oh and of course I have to talk price, its important aye? So I'll admit its on the more expensive side for one, however when you count in that each dish is meant to serve two its a no brainer. The prices are super reasonable for dished meant for two people, honestly great spot for a date its intimate enough that you'll be able to have a conversation but not so quiet that you can hear a pin drop. Now called Sip and Simmer, I was disappointed by our dinner experience. The cheese fondue was okay, but we didn't get a lot of dippables. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant, and our service was still slow. Portions were small for the price we paid. read more

My best friend and I came here for dinner on a Friday around 4:30pm. We had a reservation and had no issue checking in at the host stand and being seated immediately. Our server was friendly and prompt. We ended up ordering 3 of the tapas plates to share, one cocktail each, and then the dessert fondue at the end. We loved each of the small plates with the pretzel breaded chicken skewers being my favorite. The drinks were beautifully presented and delicious. I thought the dessert fondue was a good portion size for the price ($25 for 2 people). We couldn't finish all of the dippers, but our chocolate fondue was basically gone by the end. We had ordered the Reese's fondue, but she brought us milk chocolate and we didn't realize until a few dips in. I love the decor and furniture here. It feels upscale and intimate, but comfortable. They have a bar area to the front and then more formal dining in booths in the back. At the end of the day, we each spent around $55 after tip. What a phenomenal, bustling, involved restaurant right in the heart of downtown Milford. Fondue is exactly what it's namesake says, fondue! And we fon did. We got the dinner for two which had a cheese appetizer, salad course, dinner with trio of proteins (chicken, fillet, and shrimp) in your choice of broth, and dessert. Everything is delicious and customizable. There's a multitude of cheeses to choose from, broths, and and extensive list of extras to add on to your meal to enhance the experience. However, we're leaving absolutely satiated and satisfied from our fondue experience! I cannot speak highly enough about the waitstaff here. Attentive is not giving them high enough praise. They are friendly, involved, caring, and knowledgeable about their tasty cheese craft. If you have ANY questions of concerns about what's going on, don't like a dipper, or don't know how fondue works, they will take the time to teach, fix, and remedy the situation. The food was good. It's fun to skewer things and dip them in a tasty cheese sauce. Our service was fine. We just ate at the bar, as we did not have reservations. We enjoyed all the unique charcuterie boards on the walls. We look forward to returning. My only complaint is that they misspelled the name of the building they are in. It used to be a JC Penney store back in the day. It has nothing to do with a "penny". Don't understand why they got this wrong. I find it annoying when history is changed, and wish they would correctly reflect the actual history of this building. read more

Service was very slow and drinks were forgotten about multiple times. Half the apps weren't brought out till super late. When we would try and wave people over and say excuse me we were ignored. Many menu items were unavailable and the check was wrong at the end, honestly regretted having a big party here for a celebration. read more

We attended a soft opening event at this new restaurant. First we were greeted by a friendly smile at the door and we were then promptly escorted to our reserved seats. The restaurant was busy (as expected), and there was then usual clatter of plates, drinkware and toasts happening all around. I could hear the oooos and ahhhhsss of the other diners and got to see so many people in various parts of their meals. We had the 4 course experience. It started with an amazing selection of precut veggies, bread & soft pretzels . These were dipped in your choice of cheeses. We opted for the bacon ranch. Secondly, came salads. Next up were the proteins. You choose a selection of proteins that includes, pork, shrimp, beef and chicken. We chose a tasty broth to cook our proteins in. The instructions were clear and concise. Our server was Destiny and she was incredibly helpful. Our last course was dessert! Y'all we opted for the Reese's choc. That decadent choc was paired with fresh rice crispy treats, fresh fruits, cookies and we added the cheesecake bites. This was about a 2 hour experience. It was timed perfectly. I spoke briefly about our amazing server, but i have to tell you everyone that approached the table was amazing. Everyone had a smile, asked if we needed anything, cleared plates and offered refills. I'm excited to see that there are other options, like just coming in for dessert or even coming in and order a salad and some drinks. Parking is easy, beautiful interior and GREAT FUN food! Taylor was our food guide extraordinaire!!! We were a party of 5, had an assortment of appetizers (all good if not GREAT) and got the 4 course fondue dinner. I admit, it was A LOT of food. I would say that the traditional cheese fondue was the highlight, along with the dessert fondue. I mean the cheese was what one dreams about when thinking about Swiss cheese. Check the picture!! I did not get many other pictures...because we were eating it. The chocolate fondues were great too. We had dark chocolate with peanut/Reeses in it. Yum. Recently started spending more time in Milford and heard decent reviews of this establishment so I decided to give it a chance. After being seated it took over an hour to finally get started with the first course of the four course meal which means it did not start off strong. I was also informed when deciding between the soup or salad option that there were 2 different soup options. After choosing my option I was given the incorrect soup and then was told "we don't have any other kind of soup" which did not end up being appetizing. We then asked if our appetizer was still coming as we were already half way through the meals and found out that it had been forgotten about. All the while our table was bypassed close to 10 times for a table that had 1 more person than ours. The ambiance was nice and relaxing, the food was decent but very similar to The Melting Pot, and the service was far from good. Overall unfortunately I do not plan on returning. read more

I wanted to love this place. I miss fondue and was so happy to see it come to Sussex County. The space is gorgeous and the cocktails innovative. This, plus the delicious chocolate fondue, earns it three stars. I have no problem laying down the $$$ for good food. But, we couldn't help but feel absolutely gouged by this place. My husband and I did not do our homework (our bad) and realized after arriving that because he is a vegetarian, we could not easily share their 4 course meal with cheese, salad, entree and dessert. Thank god we didn't because it was a $84 minimum per person. (More below). Instead we went to the bar and just rolled with the cheese and chocolate fondue easily shared by vegetarians and carnivores alike. We started with cocktails. Although innovative they were $15 a piece. Are we at the Libation Room in downtown Rehoboth or 14 Global in downtown Bethany? No! In other words, high rent districts where you expect to pay these prices for strong creative cocktails. Nope! We are in Milford. Wow! I also recognized a wine that I know is $13 a bottle in the store and they were charging $15 a glass. Again, you expect this in Philly or DC. Not downtown Milford. Price gouging. Chocolate fondue was delicious and filling. $24 for us to share. Cheese fondue was kind of like Agave's $14 fundido but a lot less flavorful. This was $24 to share and came with two baby carrots per person, two broccoli florets per person, two potatoes that were the size of olives and some absolutely disgusting slimy celery. As someone else stated, the apples were sliced so thin (again two per person) that we could not get them on the skewer. Also don't be fooled when they state there are baguettes and pretzels included. Again, it was like they took a slice from a baguette, cut it in four, and gave us each one. The waitress offered us more sides but the skimpy offerings took up all the cheese we had. We were out of luck and less than full. I'm not sure where the required four course meal comes out to $84/person because sitting at the a la carte menu we calculated it to be $60/person. Maybe they give you four baby carrots, I don't know. But with a cocktail or two you are looking at $120/person or about $150 with tip. Again, so happy fondue is in the area but not willing to be gouged when there is deliciousness all around you at the beach, you'll have leftovers, the food is cooked for you and is worth the expense. Or it is worth the trip to the Melting Pot in Wilmington where you leave absolutely stuffed and pay less. read more

First of all Fondue is very pleasing to the eye. Beautifully decorated and comfy seating. We girls went to celebrate a birthday and decided to order the set priced four course dinner. We had the spinach and artichoke cheese fondue which arrived with an assortment of dippers. Then a salad /soup course. Next was the broth fondue that we cooked assorted proteins in. The dessert, caramel praline chocolate fondue showed up to the table with a array of sweet dippers as well as fruit was very decadent. Plan to spend about two hours for dinner. read more

The service and ambiance was great. Very posh and fashionable. It might be a good place to go for drinks and socializing. My wife took me and her friend from out of town. I had low expectations knowing that simply boiling meat in a broth would be just as good as picking chicken out of soup of beef out of a stew. I was right but I thought maybe the cheese would be good. Nope, the sharp cheddar was not at all sharp. I am not exaggerating by saying that cutting up a block of sharp cheddar and eating it with crackers and apples at home would have been far better. Actually. The salty croutons on the Caesar Salad were delicious but that is about it. Maybe just got to sit at the bar, have a drink, and try just one menu item? I won't be going again. Take note of the indoor garden, comfy pillows in the booths, black utensils, beautiful bathroom, and intelligent table design. Seriously. We enjoyed everything we ate (full course) and the collaborative experience amongst our table to make decisions together. Keep in mind: this is an EXPERIENCE that therefore takes TIME. Dedicate TIME adequately. That is YOUR responsibility as the customer. Your server is explaining menus and logistics to you, serving you, checking on you, helping you, preparing fondue on your table, etc. which is a mighty role so please respect the many hats they are wearing for YOU. We were so excited to have a Fondue restaurant here! After moving back to the area to be closer to family, I knew we'd sacrifice some within the food realm and when I saw Milford had a locally owned restaurant modeled after one of our favorite fondue restaurants, it was a no brainer to try. First, the ambiance is great. Relaxed and casual but still makes you feel just a bit "fancy". It got a little noisy when the restaurant became crowded but we were seated at the high top tables in the bar area so may be a little louder. Plus, there was a festival in town and the live music was right in front of the restaurant so you could hear that. I did quickly wish that the reservation online allowed us to select whether we'd like bar area or the back area that appeared to have cozier booths. High top tables aren't always the most comfortable to shorter people although it didn't bother me as much as usual and the bar stools were comfy. Second, the service was great. If our waiter was busy, someone else was promptly there to refill drinks, clear dishes, check on us, etc. waiter checked on us frequently without being intrusive. Our waiter's name was Gage. Now on to the drinks: specialty cocktails were intriguing. I had a special seasonal Apple Cider Old Fashioned. Delicious! Husband had a local beer offering which he enjoyed. I had done some homework ahead of time and love wine. Was not impressed with the wine selection although there were a few I know I enjoy... The food: this is why my review gives only 3 stars. While I had hoped this would be a 5 star experience, sadly we both felt the food was just ok. Having been to the chain this restaurant was modeled on, we understood the four course option so pricing wasn't an issue we were concerned about. Let's start with the cheese course: we selected the Vermont cheddar option - typical dippers offered and felt amount was great. Additional dippers offered as well. The cheese was extremely bland and very thin in consistency for quite a while (we were almost done by the time it thickened a little more). Salads: we both chose the Caesar and it was great. Entree: We knew we'd get beef, chicken and shrimp for both of us. Perfect as my husband doesn't eat seafood and I gave him the filet. We each sampled the chicken. Decided to add on the lobster tail as that's one of my favorites. Would have liked some additional selections on add-ons. For instance, potstickers or some type of dumplings would have been something I'd add on at the other fondue restaurant. The filet, chicken & shrimp were all great. I wished for but didn't ask for or receive offer for dipping sauces for the seafood. No cocktail sauce offered for shrimp, no melted butter offered for lobster which I feel would have taken my food to the next level. The lobster tail was cut so that some of the lobster was wasted and I had no way to get little pieces out and cook it. Chocolate course: we went with Caramel Turtle option and it was delicious. Again, we felt like we had plenty of dippers. I did wish I had either kept my fork or a new one was brought over as some dippers needed to be cut in smaller pieces and that's hard to do with a fondue fork. We weren't offered any after-dinner drinks or coffee to go with our dessert but we requested coffee which was brought out promptly. There was a statement made that there "may be cream" when I asked for some and he did find heavy cream for the coffee. The waiter did get busy later in the evening. We had one of the earlier reservations so we could get home early and relieve the babysitter so it was quiet when we first arrived. Bill dropped off and then later the handheld credit card machine was left with me at table so completed transaction and headed out. If a couple slight changes I've mentioned were implemented, I think we'd return, but as it is now, we will probably stick with a seafood/steak restaurant near the beaches. read more

The food here was subpar. The cheese was very oily and not flavorful. We got the steakhouse broth and it was tasteless. We didn't appreciate the waiter putting all the vegetables in the broth along with all of our tables' servings of chicken. He told us the chicken could just sit in the broth and won't get over cooked. Untrue. None of the protein was seasoned. The chocolate was definitely low quality as it did not melt well and the dippers were mostly stale. The service was wonderful however. Even though we had one specific waiter any wait staff that walked by offered their services. That was refreshing. If you want delicious fondue just drive a little north to The Melting Pot. The quality of food along with the taste well surpasses Fondue. And it is actually much cheaper for more! Sorry Fondue, it's a cute place but fondue in my kitchen would have been tastier. read more
