I noticed a one dollar price difference on my meal. I was rung up $7.59 for their chili cheese dog/fries instead of $6.49 listed. when I asked the lady at the register she dismissed me saying it included tax. I checked my receipt and asked another male employee, again I was dismissed. He hesitated then fiddled with the register so I thought he was going to make it right. He hesitated some more and replied "I can just tell the manager." The other employee were looking at me bewildered that I was asking about a mistake. No one else chimes in they just stared. I said I don't mind if thr price changed but they need to either change it on the menu or tell customers when ordering. When did principals become taboo to question?! read more

Went there last night for the first time in a while. Use to be a fan. Hot dogs were NOT good. Fries were uncooked soft and wet their soda (fruit punch) tasted very strange I returned it after tasting it and I had an Italian lemonade than had no lemon flavor or lemon in it . Disappointed to say the least read more

Ordered 1 grilled chicken sandwich last night well done mustard lettuce and tomato only. It was excellent! Well done, the way I like it, and it didn't have that GREASY GRILL taste like most places do. Most places throw it on a flat griddle and they absorb that greasy flavor from the crappy oils used or grease from the fried hamburgers! Not this place! Very good and highly recommended. read more

We stopped in to eat before shopping in the area. The service was friendly. The restaurant is half a gambling joint which I am not a fan of! The food tasted fresh. I had the chargrilled chicken sandwich with everything on it. It was tasty but a little pricey. My husband had the catfish dinner which he said was tasty and a good portion for the price as it came with a small salad, fries, coleslaw and cheesy garlic bread. We both tried the bread and personally would prefer just the bread but others may find this an added bonus! read more

Way too over priced, judging by the $15 meal I ordered which was a steak sandwich. You expect a little more than just ground up pieces of beef stuck together like a thin burger patty and two slices of tomato and some lettuce, like 5 inches big altogether and no sauce, just dry and depressing. I give it a big fat one star. Never again boys read more

Overall good food. Service is good, fast and they never missed my order. I been coming here for years.

I normally like to go here, but not today! I went to the drive up & the woman said gimme a sec. I waited for 5 minutes. She never came back. I drove to the window & there were 2 women inside. No customers inside or ahead of me at the window. I sat & was ignored by both women. One was on the phone. Even if she was on the phone with a potential customer, she could have acknowledged my presence . NOTHING! (Truthfully the right thing to do is to put the phone on hold & take care of the person in front of you.) SO I LEFT. THEY LOST A GOOD CUSTOMER TODAY & IN THE FUTURE BECAUSE I WON'T BE BACK ! read more

Pretty good food. Decent burger/hot dog/gyro place with a good size menu, and a bunch of menu items you wouldn't normally expect. It was a little pricey, but the portions were good and tasty. My friend substituted fries for fried mushrooms that came with a tartar sauce and they were delicious... so much so that I had to help him eat them Gonna work our way thru the menu, but return to the fries mushroom. I think maybe to justify the prices hand-cut fries would be the way to go... although their fries were pretty good! read more

Rubbery $12.99 disappointment. 2 hotdog special. Fries undercooked. We had a hankering for hotdogs. Let's go to a hotdog place that specializes in hotdogs. I've had better hotdogs at Home Depot. Never again. I'd give it minus 1 if I could read more

Restaurant review Lucky Dog is not Portillo but it reaches a close second. The restaurant is not too busy at lunch. The food comes out quick and fast to order. The only downside is the price is rather high compared to the competitor Poor Boy down the street. The same combo meal with burger, fries, and drink is about 2 dollars less. The food is similar hot of the grill. Pro: friendly staff, drive through Cons: prices are higher than Poor Boy Hidden gem: Daily lunch specials read more

I don't usually don't do reviews, but I had to agree with one of the previous reviews about the gyro. This is not tzatziki sauce. It's sweet and like a mayo consistency. And the gyro itself had no taste to it. But I have had the burger and hotdog and they were good, so I will stick with those! read more

This place use to be an ok place to grab some food. The last two times we've stopped it's been horrid!! Whatever they're doing with the Gyros needs to change. Sauce is disgusting! Our fries today burnt and tasted reheated. Pop is generic as generic can be. Step it up and get rid of that cheap ass pop. Maybe it's time to start selling off some of the other stores or stop opening other restaurants. ( Russell's is a disaster as well ) Lucky Dog isn't the same. read more

This joint is a block away from me so you see I live in a rather exclusive enclave here in the Greater Broadview Asylum. So if you come to the dog, at least have your car washed. The dress code is wide ranging. At the tables you find the three main styles of dress to be: 1. Day Laborer. 2. Plasma Donor. 3. General welfare recipient with the exclusive black LINC card with WIC supplemental. But at the drive up window you find the eclectic including a fair portion of Mercedes, BMW, Cadillac/Lincoln, Genesis, etc. This is your basic dog menu with Polish, gyro, burgers, BBQ chicken, ribs, the usual sides, shakes and soft serve. Italian ice's are glacier sized. Ingredients are fresh, and each meal is made fresh so expect just a very short wait. Ordering indoors is efficient. Outdoors they have a speaker system. "Derum everything, gedad fry, vanida shake no ice, anything else?" It can be off putting at first but soon it becomes part of the charm. Guests delight in The two forms of gambling avaiable at the dog. The first is three brightly lit slots that attract the many local high rollers and lottery quantum players. The second form of gambling is the occasional mystery bag of food. A few days ago I ordered a "dogandfrieseverything" and it was revealed to be a polish. No problem. Once I ordered two subs. My Friend tore into his back at my Broadview Estate I call AldiView. He asked what I ordered? I looked at his sub and mine. Both had mayo, Tomato, lettuce, onion but no cheese or meatl. I went back to the store much more amused than upset and demanded to see the dog face to face... They gave me two stoked and stacked subs and a full refund. So heck ya, 5 stars Origin of The Lucky Dog Years ago there were lamp post signs around.town reading "Lost Dog. Missing tail, blind in one eye, seriously affected by mange, and is a life support system for a flea and tick colony. $5 Reward For Return. $10 reward if you don't return. The Lucky Dog - Great horchata! - Hot Dogs Near Me - Broadview, Illinois

Came here earlier today after a doctor's appointment. I would never have thought to come here but since my friend said the only hot dogs he will eat at a fast food restaurant would be from Lucky Dog, I decided to stop and give them a try. I ordered (2) regular dogs with everything and (2) chili cheese dogs. The total came out to be $16!!!!! What? The dogs were not fresh whatsoever and tasted kind of plain despite all the ingredients on top of it. The tomatoes and pickles were good though (lol). As for the french fries, I thought they were OK. My bf thought the fries were way too crispy. Conclusion: -This place is not worth their prices. -The dogs are tasteless. -The fruit and veggies appear to be fresh. -The chili was decent! read more

Ordered cheese curds and a breaded chicken sandwich. I paid 6.19 for the cheese curds and this is what I received. Been here a handful of times.. I'm indifferent about this Lucky Dog The fellas taking my orders always ask me to repeat myself, yet I speak clearly... I've gone through the drive thru each time. Usually wait 8-12mins to receive my food, after my order has been placed. This joint has extremely slow service. The food is decent for 'fast' food. That's why I'm not giving it less than 3 stars. And I've been to Melrose Park's Lucky Dog my whole life.. I actually prefer that location. But this one is closer to my home. Maybe this place just needs to hire another cook to speed things up. There's always cars in line at the drive thru and the parking lot is usually full. So they must be doing something right. I just can't imagine waiting 10mins on average, every time I go, simply for a hotdog and fries I'll return if I'm passing by, but ehhh... I will most likely drive over to 19th and Lake St -Melrose Park instead read more

Quick. Easy. Delicious. This is the most recent addition to the chain of Lucky Dog. It makes a total of 4. Open until 2 am on the weekends and I think midnight during the week. It's fantastic drunk food. This location has pizza and pasta options. It's your standard Chicago corner hot dog joint. A little bit of everything. A lot to choose from. Something for everyone. I love the super taco. A gigantic taco served on a pita bread. It's greasy. It's gross. It's amazing. read more

The worst service I've had....period. Never had a problem with the food. However this last visit I ordered two hot dogs a French fry and a coke. I waited for 15 mins behind two vehicles. This is normal. What wasn't normal was after this I paid got my drink and was asked to pull toward. Fine. I get it. I park and both cars behind me promptly pay get their giant bags of food and leave. I remind you....two hot dogs, fries and a Coke. 30 min wait in a drive thru. Awful. Speak with the manager I ask for an explanation. I'm sorry we were busy. No offer of discount or refund. No explanation of why my simple order was delayed other than we were busy. Save your time and money....go somewhere else read more

For the last few times we have ordered including today they have gotten most of our order wrong. They even have it wrong on the receipt. I asked for a grilled cheese on pita with tomato. they gave me a ham and cheese sandwich. I also order the. Italian sausage meal that comes with fries. I received no fries and there were no peppers with it. the drive thru is. terrible. it should be quick but it isn't. it takes like a half hour to receive your food. this place should be inspected as well. it doesn't show great appearance. No one knows how to understand you when trying to place an order. they don't care if they get the order right or not. they try to apologize but it is a constant occurrence. read more

I've driven by this place numerous times, even worked down the street for a few months, but never went in, until last month. Now, I grew up on the south side of Chicago where the 2 hot dog, fries & a drink were a staple; I've lived on the NW side, the near west side and in the suburbs, and found numerous places that had this special, usually all at a good price. So I was stunned to pull in the drive-thru at Lucky Dog and see this "special" priced at $9.49... about $3 more than currant prices at other places I know. Kind of hungry, and having a drink in my car already, I decided to get the Polish & fries ($5.49), and also a cheese dog & fries ($4.49). The Good News: The Polish was excellent. A nicely-cooked and tasty sausage on a perfect, steamed bug, loaded with toppings including a nice tomato chunk and pickle. The OK News: the fries were just passable, Obvious frozen, crinkle-cut variety. These guys could do a better job by doing a higher-quality fry. The Bad News... VERY Bad News: opened the wrapper on the cheese dog to find a skinny, 8-to-1 hot dog on top of a slice of processed American cheese in the bun and noting else. NAKED!!! No mustard. No onions. No relish. No tomato, No pickle, No sport pepper. NOTHING for four & a half bucks. I could go to Aldi and buy dogs, buns and cheese for 8 hot dogs and have money left to buy some ketchup at least! Will I go back? Not at those prices, and not for the quality, either, which is spotty. read more

I do not frequent restaurants like this, but my grandchildren wanted tacos so I thought I would try them. When I placed my initial order I added to it so was not given the total. When I got to the drive window, I was told, a price that did I not add up. When I mentioned to the person at the window that I was being charged more that what the marquee stated the guy just shrugged his shoulders like he did not know what to do. I got my food 3 steak tacos, 3 chicken tacos and one large fry. The fries were over cooked and salty. One chicken taco only had tomato. The other two had only lettuce and the chicken was salty well. The steak tacos were okay. I won't return ever again. read more
