    Catfish dinner

We stopped in to eat before shopping in the area. The service was friendly. The restaurant is half a gambling joint which I am not a fan of! The food tasted fresh. I had the chargrilled chicken sandwich with everything on it. It was tasty but a little pricey. My husband had the catfish dinner which he said was tasty and a good portion for the price as it came with a small salad, fries, coleslaw and cheesy garlic bread. We both tried the bread and personally would prefer just the bread but others may find this an added bonus!

Pictured: Steak sandwich meal. Nearly $15 for pathetically small sandwich, handful of fries, and a soft drink YIKES

Way too over priced, judging by the $15 meal I ordered which was a steak sandwich. You expect a little more than just ground up pieces of beef stuck together like a thin burger patty and two slices of tomato and some lettuce, like 5 inches big altogether and no sauce, just dry and depressing. I give it a big fat one star. Never again boys

are used to love this place now it's just bad .... I will not be going back. I just stop by like 20 minutes ago and got some food for my kids and I then I noticed all the mold on the salad .

Pretty good food. Decent burger/hot dog/gyro place with a good size menu, and a bunch of menu items you wouldn't normally expect. It was a little pricey, but the portions were good and tasty. My friend substituted fries for fried mushrooms that came with a tartar sauce and they were delicious... so much so that I had to help him eat them Gonna work our way thru the menu, but return to the fries mushroom. I think maybe to justify the prices hand-cut fries would be the way to go... although their fries were pretty good!

Restaurant review Lucky Dog is not Portillo but it reaches a close second. The restaurant is not too busy at lunch. The food comes out quick and fast to order. The only downside is the price is rather high compared to the competitor Poor Boy down the street. The same combo meal with burger, fries, and drink is about 2 dollars less. The food is similar hot of the grill. Pro: friendly staff, drive through Cons: prices are higher than Poor Boy Hidden gem: Daily lunch specials

The cheeseburger was okay, but the patty was smaller than expected and could have used a bit more seasoning to really stand out. It wasn't bad, just a little underwhelming compared to other spots. The loaded fries were a highlight--topped with cheese, Italian beef, and fresh jalapeños. They were flavorful and absolutely massive, easily a meal on their own. We also had the breaded steak sandwich, which was decent but could have used some jalapeños for extra flavor. Portion-wise, it was very generous and easily enough for two people to share. The chicken fingers were just okay--good size, but again, a bit more seasoning would have helped. The mushrooms were solid, and the onion rings were better than most--big and crispy--but there were quite a few broken pieces. We also tried the famous cannoli shake, which tasted exactly like you'd expect--a cannoli in liquid form. If you like cannolis, you'll probably enjoy it. Overall, not a bad spot with generous portions and friendly service, but some items--especially the burgers--could use a bit more flavor and a larger patty to really stand out.

The interest in visiting has always been there because I work nearby and ever since I tried their fries which were ordered by my coworker, I wanted to visit. Poor Boy sits along Roosevelt Rd in a high traffic area in Maywood. The parking lot itself is private with an acceptable number of parking spaces available. While pulling my vehicle into a parking space, I could not ignore the smell of the food looming in the air which built anticipation to enter. Once I entered, I stood in a line which gave me time to browse the menu as the customer ahead of me ordered. After the customer ordered, the employee took my order, giving off an enthusiastic vibe in the process. Here I was thinking that I would visit and order just fries, but nope! That changed once I saw the fish sandwich on the menu as an option. I was asked by the employee if I wanted the combo instead and I accepted! Now best believe I was not going to visit Poor Boy and not order those delicious fries that my coworker knows that I love. My order was completed in no more than 8 minutes, and I was well on my way. I opted out of dine-in, choosing to take my order to go because I did not want to be in the area long. We all know how terrible the traffic is in the area, and I had no interest in being out in it. Moreover, the restaurant appeared decently clean, and the atmosphere gave off a fast-food restaurant vibe. And inside, there were an acceptable number of tables with seats inside of the dining area. Upon getting inside of my vehicle I could not resist eating those fresh tasting fries before even driving out of the parking space, tehehe. It was a good thing that I had them in my lap eating them because they helped calm my nerves while being amongst impatient drivers along Roosevelt Rd. I swear! The elastic on my panties is wearing out from having to pull them up, just to deal with impatient drivers on the road. I must admit that food cures anything, but I do wish that the employees did not chunk extra un-bagged loose fries inside of the bag, burying my fish sandwich underneath in the process. I mean come on, sheesh! The first bite of the fish sandwich left me with a mouth full of fish, lettuce, tomato, and tartar sauce! However, the first words out of my mouth after swallowing that first bite was, "Mmm, that is good!". I have to say that the fish sandwich swayed the rating I had intended on giving Poor Boy because of those loose fries. I am glad that I finally considered visiting because it would have prolonged the chance of tasting their fish sandwich. I could very well re-visit and order from Poor Boy again because it sits in an area that I frequent. Whenever that visit depends on the craving of my tastebuds at the time. Ariston makes a decent beef sandwich with soft bread, a nice serving of sliced beef, excellent tasting au jus and good giardineira. The medium fries and beef combo that comes with a canned drink was just under $15 which is a bit pricey but still not bad for the quality. Their crinkle cut fries are delicious and we're served crispy and piping hot. I luckily got in a little after 12:15am and was able to beat out the last minute rush as a good 5-6 cars pulled into the lot after I ordered. I don't think there would have been much of a wait even I had been a little later though as my order was ready in less than 5 mins. This made me a little worried but like I mentioned the food ended up being good. The staff were not necessarily friendly but I wouldn't characterize them as rude either. They just seemed to be really dialed in to get through all the orders which I appreciated. The interior is pretty lived in but it's not overly dirty or anything. They have an almost ridiculously extensive menu so I can't say much for the rest of the food but if a good beef and fries late at night is what you're looking for Ariston is a good option.

It sits amongst a strip of restaurants that I am very familiar with along W Roosevelt Rd. And its 4.1 star rating out of 260+ on Uber Eats was the assurance I needed that I would have a quality ordering experience. Being that Submarine Brothers is known for sub-style sandwiches, I did my research before visiting since I am pescatarian. On the menu, I took interest in items like their fish sandwich, cheese sub, shrimp basket, butter garlic fries, and their regular fries. Out of the few items that caught my eye, I ended up ordering the butter garlic fries along with a cup of nacho cheese; a cup of nacho cheese that made my mouth salivate just thinking of it while paired with those butter garlic fries. Oh honey, yes! I love ordering online because it is convenient! Most of the time my orders are completed upon my arrival or near complete. By the time I arrived at Submarine Brothers my order awaited behind the counter during this ordering experience. Picking up was just confirming my name, order, and I was well on my way. I am grateful to have had a smooth online ordering experience because it is a highly preferred method for me ordering anywhere especially while on the go. As for parking, the parking space is shared with two other businesses: LA Smokes, and Arts Food & Liquor. With what both businesses consist of, the space may give off sketchy vibes for some because of the likelihood of encountering individuals who are in and out of the area or just lingering! And there are limited parking spots in this space considering that it is shared, plus it may feel tight knit if you have a larger sized vehicle. As for my order, the butter garlic fries smelled so delightful as I got a whiff of them while getting inside of my vehicle. The smell of them during my 8-mile drive home made me anticipate the taste of them. After opening the lid of the styrofoam container and getting my first glimpse of those butter garlic fries that had my taste buds salivating, I said to myself "whoa!". They were well-seasoned and oh my they tasted so delicious! They were so delicious that it made it hard to savor each moment because I was grabbing fries in small bundles by the second, tehehe. An addictive taste that made me want more as my fingers were left with butter and garlic residue on them. At the bottom of the styrofoam container were the buttery fries that I totally anticipated eating once I saw how drenched they were with butter. After I finished, I was left with a smirk on my face knowing that I will have them again at some point because the butter garlic fries were good, very good! After this ordering experience, I would not hesitate to order from again outside of some of my favorite restaurants in the immediate area. And with that said, I share my endorsement of Submarine Brothers with you all on yelp! Enjoy! Ambiance: 4 | Service: 5 | Food: 5 | Overall rating: 5 ~ Oh darling, let's be adventurers ~ Thomas G
