I noticed a one dollar price difference on my meal. I was rung up $7.59 for their chili cheese dog/fries instead of $6.49 listed. when I asked the lady at the register she dismissed me saying it included tax. I checked my receipt and asked another male employee, again I was dismissed. He hesitated then fiddled with the register so I thought he was going to make it right. He hesitated some more and replied "I can just tell the manager." The other employee were looking at me bewildered that I was asking about a mistake. No one else chimes in they just stared. We stopped in to eat before shopping in the area. The service was friendly. The restaurant is half a gambling joint which I am not a fan of! The food tasted fresh. I had the chargrilled chicken sandwich with everything on it. It was tasty but a little pricey. My husband had the catfish dinner which he said was tasty and a good portion for the price as it came with a small salad, fries, coleslaw and cheesy garlic bread. Pretty good food. Decent burger/hot dog/gyro place with a good size menu, and a bunch of menu items you wouldn't normally expect. It was a little pricey, but the portions were good and tasty. This joint is a block away from me so you see I live in a rather exclusive enclave here in the Greater Broadview Asylum. So if you come to the dog, at least have your car washed. The dress code is wide ranging. At the tables you find the three main styles of dress to be: 1. Day Laborer. 2. Plasma Donor. 3. General welfare recipient with the exclusive black LINC card with WIC supplemental. Guests delight in The two forms of gambling avaiable at the dog. The first is three brightly lit slots that attract the many local high rollers and lottery quantum players. For the last few times we have ordered including today they have gotten most of our order wrong. They even have it wrong on the receipt. I asked for a grilled cheese on pita with tomato. they gave me a ham and cheese sandwich. I also order the. Italian sausage meal that comes with fries. I received no fries and there were no peppers with it. the drive thru is. terrible. it should be quick but it isn't. it takes like a half hour to receive your food. this place should be inspected as well. it doesn't show great appearance. I've driven by this place numerous times, even worked down the street for a few months, but never went in, until last month. Now, I grew up on the south side of Chicago where the 2 hot dog, fries & a drink were a staple; I've lived on the NW side, the near west side and in the suburbs, and found numerous places that had this special, usually all at a good price. So I was stunned to pull in the drive-thru at Lucky Dog and see this "special" priced at $9.49... about $3 more than currant prices at other places I know. Kind of hungry, and having a drink in my car already, I decided to get the Polish & fries ($5.49), and also a cheese dog & fries ($4.49). The Good News: The Polish was excellent. A nicely-cooked and tasty sausage on a perfect, steamed bug, loaded with toppings including a nice tomato chunk and pickle. The OK News: the fries were just passable, Obvious frozen, crinkle-cut variety. These guys could do a better job by doing a higher-quality fry. The Bad News... VERY Bad News: opened the wrapper on the cheese dog to find a skinny, 8-to-1 hot dog on top of a slice of processed American cheese in the bun and noting else. NAKED!!! No mustard. No onions. No relish. No tomato, No pickle, No sport pepper. NOTHING for four & a half bucks. I could go to Aldi and buy dogs, buns and cheese for 8 hot dogs and have money left to buy some ketchup at least!
