Home Renovations can be a scary, unknown process, but with LoftCrafters, that was not the case. We initially reached out to see if it was even possible to add a loft to our home. We were pleasantly surprised when we were informed it was possible but also at the total cost of the work and the timeline to complete. While we were unable to start right away due hoops to jump through with our HOA and the city, eventually the project kicked off. Our home was a construction zone for about two weeks, but really only the first week was what you would consider a home renovation experience to feel like (related to noise and dust). I reached out to The LoftCrafters in December 2023 to see if an idea I had was feasible. Ben came out and took some initial measurements and let us know there should be no problem realizing our goals. After many iterations of the design (which Ben did each time impressively quick) we settled on the final design and layout. Ben even suggested some features/design elements we hadn't thought of. Better yet, the final quote was even less than Ben had verbally shared with us, so even better! Construction commenced as quickly as we had access to the property and the speed and which they work is impressive. The house was impeccably masked up and protected from dust and construction debris. In the midst of construction I had this lightbulb moment about a design feature I thought would really fit the space. The team responsible for our project, Sebastian and JuanCarlos, immediately jumped in and were able to get it adjusted on the fly. That same team was able to make a gametime change as well when one of the elements didn't quite match the space. We had a minor hiccup with the placement of a wall but as excepted TLC had it remediated by the next day and continued moving on. We had smooth inspections with no issues noted by the city. Today wraps the project completely as TLC came back after a couple months to install the baseboards and again that was done promptly and professionally with an excellent eye for detail. From start to finish, TLC was professional, understanding, and fast. Met both of the owners through the estimation process and they were both very knowledgeable, experienced, and courteous. They gave their thoughts on what may be the best layout for the loft, as well as considering our thoughts on how we wanted it to look. Once we signed the contract, we worked with Sebastian who was amazing. He always made sure to answer our questions and concerns, while always making sure we were happy with what was done thus far. It definitely wasn't easy living in the home at the same time the work was happening, but all of the employees were accommodating when we needed to move from floor to floor during their work. Anytime some prep was getting loose due to us opening and closing doors, or from my dog/toddler ripping holes, they always fixed or replaced it right away to make sure things were protected. Also the work itself was done so quickly and efficiently. I think they were done after 2.5 weeks. We did hit a snag with a 3rd party vendor having some issues, but TLC and Sebastian definitely made it right for the delay. I've never worked with a contractor that definitely commits to making sure to the customer is happy, always making sure we are satisfied with the work done, fixing any issues that may have arisen from the construction. 100% would hire them again for any Loft needs, and 100% would recommend them to anyone. **AMAZING** First off there are "contractors", then there are "good contractors" and then there is "TLC" who change the game. I received a TLC flyer in the mail randomly in 2016 after just moving in. Thought the idea was cool of a potential loft and showed it to the wife. I had no intentions of scheduling an appointment and didn't want to waste Doug's time; however I was curious about a budgetary number. Doug came out (one of the owners) and we tossed around some ideas and numbers. At that time, we did not move forward, but was able to budget for the future. Two years later Doug came back to iron out some ideas again and then the pandemic occurred which put everything on hold. Fast-forward to 2023, and I'm surprised Doug is still picking up our calls' haha. We decided on a final design, signed the contract and Doug and Ben made a few holes in our drywall. We had to make some big changes because there were shear walls in our house. It's common for things to not go as planned in major construction projects. We successfully constructed a cantilevered loft/office as well as an additional office within an exterior void and reconfigured the stairs (refer to images). We had one major change order to expand my closet and get rid of the 1990s planters. Pricing was super fair, don't try to haggle there is no need. We mentioned to Doug the job needed to be started June 1st and completed before August. They completed in roughly 6 weeks. Our flooring and painting contractors finished their part of the project ahead of schedule thanks to the fast and efficient work done by TLC. Now this is where TLC really shines. 1. They have their own guys. 2. All material is ordered prior to start. This implies that there will be no delays (we had NONE). 3. Their project managers (ours was Sabstian who was amazing) call, text, and send updates every day. 3. If for some reason you see an issue or have a question it's immediately handled or addressed. 4. They took care of our home. We chose to live off-site for the duration of the project since this is major construction, but we had access every day. 5. Their customer service team was great as well. TLC offers a start-to-stop project "service"! Everything was planned and communicated before hand. Like other reviewers, TLC was the most comprehensive, buttoned up and best construction experience we've ever had. Each step of the way from permitting, demo, framing, flooring, railing and painting was scheduled/coordinated. We never felt pressured to sign off on work, and any time we "noticed" something, it was handled with a "no problem, we'll take care of it". We opted to "live in" while the construction was happening, and were pleasantly surprised how well their dust enclosures worked! Now that the project is finished, we cannot believe how much more we love our home. TLC helped transform our home, built in the mid 80s, into a vision that was more modern and better designed. The only complaint we have with The Loft Crafters is that they only do lofts...we would hire them again in a heartbeat if they provided any other home renovation services! We were impressed as we watched 3 different neighbors have a loft installed by the Loft Crafters - the workers were punctual, clean, and respectful of the surrounding neighborhood. TLC ensured everything inside was covered and taped off to ensure no drywall or saw dust coated the other rooms, and that there was no damage to flooring or walls. They did clean up at the end of every day, to include mopping the floors. The contract was clear, and change orders clearly priced. It would be difficult to overstate how much we appreciate the professionalism, honesty, and quality of work of The LoftCrafters! We've been looking to fill in above the two-story open space above our Dining Room and create a bedroom in our current open loft on the 2nd floor. We talked to 3 different contractors. All of them told us that it couldn't be done. One contractor (after multiple conversations) said that he could do it, but his estimate came in at twice the amount we had budgeted. We then contacted The LoftCrafters. Ben came out multiple times to thoroughly discuss the project with us, and quickly provided a quote that was right in line with our budget! As the work began, the teams came through with military precision. We had no dumpster in front of the house, trash was removed every day, the job site was cleaned every day, and we received a daily recap from The LoftCrafters recapping the work completed that day and previewing the work to be done the next day. The Loft Crafters did an amazing job with the expansion of the loft in my condo. I started initial inquiries with them in October of 2023 about a possible project, and Ben answered all of my questions very promptly, up until and including the start of my project in April of this year. I had many contractors before, and I always worry about what they might mess up. The Loftcrafters were great. They cover the house extensively to prevent dust and debris from getting into the living area. They bring purple tape to prevent drywall from being damaged after the tape is removed. We had TLC build what amounts to a whole new floor above our high-ceilinged dining room/living room. It adds 342 sq ft to our home, greatly increasing the property's value. More than that, however, the TLC team completed the build in less time than they had promised and with the least amount of difficulty for us. They were always here at 8:00 on the days they said they would, and they worked until 6:00 p.m. most days. At the end of each workday, they cleaned the entire affected area and another worker came by to collect and carry away all the trash that had accumulated during the day. Each evening we got a recap and an advisory as to what to expect the next day. Professional from start to finish! Adding a loft requires permitting and architectural plans and most companies require you to get both before they even will quote you, which can cost $3000. They specialize in lofts and have their own people, so they can give you a quote before this occurs. They were also the cheapest as other companies that do permitted work want bigger projects like extending your house. All the pros are listed below: Detailed quote specifically stating what is and is not included and the cost of common add ons. Before finalizing, they met back up and went over everything in detail. Complete protection of flooring and walls and good dust control. They seal doors to rooms and have zippers so you can enter. They did general cleaning to limit dust build up during construction and at the end did a quick wipe down of all the areas. Allowed me to go straight into the detailed cleaning to get things back in order. Install of new loft was professionally done. It is inspected by city so less of a concern. I had them move hvac and create new circuit from subpanel and they did everything possible to minimize cuts required into drywall. This including crawing through 30ft of insulation in a tight space. They provided daily updates on progress of job and what is happening next. No suprises when the final bill came. They estimated 3 weeks and were done in 2 weeks! I would note this type of work can be fustrating to some. The loft was basically created in 1 week. The second week was 1-2 guys doing 1 task like texture, stair railing, or just waiting around for the multiple city inspections, which can slow thigns down depending on your city.
