This company is the absolute best! They took on a job at my house that over two dozen other contractors had looked at and could not figure out. My garage would flood when it rained heavily. The water was seeping/bubbling up through the concrete floor. Unfortunately,I spent a total of 20K on two other contractors before hiring Alpha. The work done by the first two contractors failed completely. When Damien from Alpha Structural initially came over, I knew I was in good hands right away. He is extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and professional. I would say the same about Brian and Nadir, who were the leads on my job. Brian especially, went above and beyond. Anytime I reached out to him he responded immediately, and was on site whenever I needed him. My garage was a nightmare scenario. I contacted just about every contractor who works on this kind of thing, from LA to San Diego. Not one of them could figure it out. Not one. This went on for 2 years. Alpha Structural took on a very tough job, and did what no other company could. They completely solved my garage flooding problem with a very strategic and comprehensive plan. Do yourself a favor and use this company! Don't waste time with others. Alpha Structural won't let you down. read more

15 years ago I had done a full remodel and built out the upstairs bathroom to include a jetted tub. Recently, after using the tub (LOTS of weight), the entire side of the room began popping and creaking. I knew enough about construction and engineering to seek professional input and reached out to Alpha Structural. They were pretty booked out, however when I explained the gravity of the problem (people in a home office below the tub area), Franchesca worked her magic and got me an appointment in 2 days. Damien showed up promptly at the 9 Am start time. We walked around the property while I explained my concern, and noted several other possible issues. Damien was extremely through, asking numerious questions and providing input and advice along the way. He took the time to explain causes for the different issues and was personable, professional and extremely helpful. Luckly for me, my problems traced back to normal settling, a recent solar panel and roofing job and normal aging. It's no wonder why Alpha has so many 5 star reviews- They absolutitly deserve every one of those. I only wish other businesses were as well run, and with such amazing people like Damien and Franchesca. read more

I bought a house that is 96 years old. For a house this age, it is in very good condition. It just needs some TLC to reach its full potential. One issue, however, was that there was differential settling. This is where Alpha Structural comes in. I feel the entire process went well. Ken came out to survey the situation. We had a good conversation and came to consensus on the scope of work; and I feel I received a fair proposal. David Gonzalez (supervisor) was good at communicating once the job started. He provided an accurate timeline for Alpha's part of the rehab project (so that I could schedule subsequent contractors). When demolition revealed new things, I was informed. And he provided a good debrief when work was completed. Matteo and Dennis spent three days on the project. Whenever I visited the worksite, they were busy. I don't think people realize what is involved when re-leveling a house. These two demonstrated a lot of skilled work. I (and my neighbors) also appreciate the company's "clean as you go" process. Regardless of the work happening, the worksite was always neat. Going forward, I feel I have a good (new) baseline understanding of what is happening within my house. read more

I contacted Alpha Structural for concerns about the recent development of uneven flooring throughout the house, and today they sent out Ken Crown for a free inspection. After pointing out the areas of concern to him, Ken offered a couple non-serious possibilities for the phenomenon, and was able to assure me there was no threat to either the structural integrity of the house or the cement slab foundation - and pretty much bottom-lined it, saying there's really nothing to worry about. I really appreciated Ken's easy-going demeanor, and sensed zero interest in him trying to sell me a repair service that wasn't needed. Ken is just an honest guy offering his experienced opinion - in no doubt, putting yet another homeowners' unwarranted concerns to rest. Would be nice If all companies sent inspectors who operated the same way as Ken. read more

Joe was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, punctual and friendly. We were very happy with our consultation with him. Wanted someone to analyze interior walk, ceiling & floor cracks in my home. Joe Rubio was sent out to inspect my property. He is extremely knowledgeable with residential structures & very honest. Alpha Structural sent several reminder notices with my scheduled appointment. It was suggested that I speak to a geotechnical engineer to fully determine why my home on a foundation slab is shifting. I would certainly use this company to do any kind of foundation repairs with their expertise. read more

I will start by saying that Alpha Structural office was very responsive getting back to us regarding our issue and had a consultant, Damien, out the next business day. The quote to install support ceiling joists was competitive and we scheduled work for the following week. Beams were delivered one day before repair work and the lead framer and his assistant completed the job in one day with excellent results and craftmanship. The supervisor Lorena came out the next day to make sure the work was completed correctly. I wish I could remember the name of the lead as he was excellent at his job and made sure repairs were done to our satisfaction. read more

First off, this company is one of the only companies that comes out for a free estimate (even though you might be waiting a while since I'm sure they're always busy). The guy (Ken) not only came early, but he was also refreshingly honest in his assessment of my situation. He was able to note that it wasn't a structural foundation issue, but was a "bad stucco job." He easily could have sold me on major repairs, but he didn't. I'm so appreciative of his assessment and honesty. It's no wonder why this company is rated so highly by others as well. Thank you Ken and Alpha Structural! Nice to know you all work with such rare integrity. read more

Can't say enough good things about Alpha Structural... From our sales rep, Ken, to the engineers and office folks, like Anouar, Shirly, and Virginia, to the dudes that "git er done"--Mario, Julio, and Felipe--this team is fast, sharp, and brought our project in on time, on budget, with ZERO hassle! As the Project Supervisor of a 20,000 sf commercial new build, the last thing I wanted to hear is that we had to shore up a 35+ year old building adjacent to our site BEFORE we could start on the project we'd been hired to do! One call to Alpha started us down a path that put us back on track, with happy clients, and a rock solid building. I'd like to note as well that, between our client and design team, we reached out to SEVENTEEN other structural companies in an attempt to get bids. ONLY Alpha took the call, RETURNED it, and then did what they said they'd do: Fix it right. Fix it once. What else could you ask for? read more

I've met with Ken from Alpha Structural twice. Both times, he's been knowledgeable, straightforward, and most importantly, honest. He's really a stand-up guy. Most recently, we hired Alpha Structural to repair and reinforce a wall that had been significantly weakened by a different contractor. This was a load-bearing wall over our foundation and it began showing early warning signs of potential collapse after the other contractor cut through several 2x4s which compromised the integrity of the wall by forcing the weight onto the few remaining outer studs. Ken came out to see the wall, told me what he thought the wall would need, had another engineer formalize the plans later that day, and he prioritized the repair as an emergency for us so we would get priority on the schedule. The turnaround from when we paid the deposit to the job start was about 5 days, and they finished the job a day ahead of schedule. The job site manager, Oscar, was great as well. He even visited the following day to check on things and called to check in with me. Something that stood out to me about Alpha Structural was their attention to detail and doing every aspect of the job *right*, rather than the easy/simple way. read more

We needed to repair an aging patio cover - but one that we like very much. Several people came to estimate repairs, and most said it could not be repaired, it would have to be completely rebuilt - at around $15 - 20 thousand dollars. When Alpha showed up, they said they could fix it two days - that they did work like this all the time, and they gave us a detailed estimate. Oscar and his crew - David and Marco, showed up and did a wonderful job in every way. They were prompt, efficient, hard working, and cleaned up before they left our yard. And, in two days, they finished the work, put all our patio furniture back where it was before they started and we just couldn't be happier! We have the patio cover we love, and no permits or demolition needed - at about a third of the cost of a new one. I can't thank them enough, highly recommend them. read more

I initially called Alpha Structural based on their reviews because my hill was sliding down. Ken came out and assessed the situation. He was friendly, funny, and most importantly, he was honest. He got back to me quickly with a quote for 240 linear feet of pipe and board installed in 3 rows of 80 feet each. After I agreed, Oscar, the project supervisor, contacted me ahead of time to introduce himself and tell me what to expect and when to expect it as he walked me through the project timeline. Oscar is very friendly and knowledgeable. He has great communication. If I had a question he got right back to me. He introduced me to his project foreman, Julio, on the first day. Julio and his guys worked extremely hard every day they were here. They were respectful of my property and cleaned up after themselves daily. On the final day, they thoroughly cleaned the worksite. I am not only happy with the outcome, but also with their level of professionalism and attention to detail. I'd highly recommend them and would use them again myself. read more

Alpha Structural did an amazing job repairing a steep slope in our backyard with pipe and board, making it aesthetically pleasing and safe for our young children. We were looking to do a major outdoor remodel which, to start, required a significant piece of structural engineering work. After meeting with several architects and, separately, with contractors, we decided to go with Alpha for a design/build bid. And we're extraordinarily happy we did! The lead up to the project was easy and stress free. The project was completed on time and on budget. The crew was absolutely phenomenal (supervisor David, foreman Nadir and assistant Luis Julio Eliana). All friendly, hard working and very skilled. I would recommend them in a heartbeat. read more

Ken was excellent! He was cheerful, friendly, a good listener, came out early, did a careful look around including crawling under the house where the spiders live(), and gave me the good news that I did not need work done. I am grateful for his honesty. It is so easy for someone to exaggerate a problem in order to squeeze money out of a customer but he reassured me that the issues my house has are minor and don't require their level of expertise and involvement. I will 100% recommend the company and Ken to any of my friends who need structural engineering, be it repairs, retaining walls, or what have you! Thanks again Ken! read more

Joe West and Kyle (last name?) came to my house in Laguna Beach and we spent about 45 minutes brainstorming on different things we could do with my sloping backyard. We came up with several ideas, none of which they thought it would be worth the investment to hire their company. I was so impressed with their knowledge and willingness to help me with suggestions on what I could do with my issue, especially when they new it was probably not a suitable job for their company given the less serious scope of the project. Always appreciate someone willing to invest in customer service which provides good will that I will attempt to pay forward, as I will definitely remember Joe and Kyle at Alpha when I need help within their field of expertise or I run into a neighbor doing the same! Thanks Joe and Kyle! read more

Outstanding!!! Damien was straight to the point and very helpful. Would recommend their services.

Recently, our HOA hired Alpha to do a major repair on one of our units. Ken evaluated our situation and provided a very clear and understandable assessment and recommendation for repair. Oscar, the foreman on the project, was professional and updated progress in a most timely manner. Julio and all of the other workers were great. I can't describe how pleased we are with the decision to hire Alpha. Hopefully we will not need them again. But, if there is ever a need for a major engineering and structural work, I would use them again without hesitation. read more

I typically do not provide reviews; however, I make an exception when a company does a phenomenal job going beyond expectations. When that happens, I certainly take the time to put a well-deserved review for them, which is the case for Alpha Structural. What makes Alpha Structural different especially for a construction type firm is their goal is to make sure that the customer is fully satisfied and will do their utmost to meet that. They certainly accomplished that with a steel retrofit of a structural beam that they designed and constructed (aka Design- Build) which supports an upstairs bedroom above my 3-car garage. The existing wood structural beam had developed a horizontal crack throughout its length, causing the bedroom door to become sticky to open and close which was a sign to me that there was a compromise to the structure (and obviously with seeing this beam cracked right in the middle). The Structural Accessor, Ken, re-evaluated the initial design and provided a lower cost estimate, saving me approximately couple of thousands of dollars. He is quite knowledgeable with many aspects of this type of construction and other issues that was mitigated by Ken's knowledge and expertise. The Superintendent, Oscar, was great to work with and very customer service oriented, providing me assurances, describing was expected, the schedule, timely arrival of the crew and material delivery- which all came to fruition. I want to also recognize the two-man crew that executed the installation, encompassing of Dave, the crew Foreman and his Labor Assistant, Marco, on their work ethic, professionalism, communication on progress of the job and follow through, even for Dave explaining how to maintain the bolt tightness due to metal and wood contracting and expanding throughout its life due to humidity and temperature. Dave by the way demonstrated his many years of experience and his pride in his profession to ensure the job was done right. Marco worked diligently and was thorough in all aspects of the work. In conclusion - I would absolutely, highly recommend Alpha Structural which will ensure a job well done, a design you can trust (PE stamped structural drawing), and full satisfaction of the work. Why take a risk with an unproven contractor with no experience in structural remediation, I certainly would not - use Alpha Structural eliminate your risks on your investment whether it's for your home or business. read more

I bought a 1950s-build house in Anaheim a few months ago, and one of the items that came up on the original inspection was that the framing wasn't attached particularly well to the foundation. I'd been following Alpha Structural on insta for a while, and seeing the crazy stuff they deal with around here, so I figured I'd see if they'd be interested in a quick and simple project. It was in fact both quick and simple, and substantially under my budget. Julio and Ludimar did great work, and the entire team made sure everything got buttoned up for a successful inspection. My review for the City of Anaheim's part in things would definitely not be 5 stars... read more

I had Alpha Structural engineer and construct a soft-story seismic retrofit to my 2-story single family home. Their 30 years of experience showed in how effectively they dealt with challenges like discovering that the existing foundations and framing of my 45 year old home didn't match the plans that the original builder had filed with the County. Their work crews, with 20+ years of experience, clearly knew about placement of temporary supports, careful excavation, framing modifications, and installation of the rebar, concrete, and pre-fabricated "Strong Wall" panels, bolts and brackets. All that was left for me was to reinstall the drywall. Quality work throughout! This extensive modification did not come cheap, but was well worth it for the additional safety and peace of mind it provides! read more

Alpha Structural is an amazing company. Ken Crown did the inspection and assured me that my foundation was in good shape (after another company telling me it would only last another five years!) I found Alpha Structural on Yelp and know I made the right decision hiring them. Our house sits on a steep hillside and we wanted to replace our tiny deck with a much larger one so our kids have room to play.
