Scope of work: Kitchen + Master Bath + Guest Bath complete demo and remodel, downstairs flooring (from carpet/tile to LVP), tile around the fireplace, and door/frame repaint Few things I wish I knew before starting the project (this was my first big renovation): - When obtaining quotes, clearly communicate the materials you want included in the quote (e.g., quote based on current layout, quote based on kitchen cabinets going all the way to the ceiling, quote based on shower tiles going all the way to the ceiling, etc.). This will help to make the quotes more comparable and will ensure there aren't any major surprises along the way. - Confirm working hours (e.g., what time they will start each day, what time they will finish each day, do they work weekends, etc.). - If you have the space, buy new appliances as soon as possible. Similarly, order shower glass doors as soon as tiling is done. You never know when something will go out of stock or if there will be unexpected delays in delivery. - Be prepared to make all the design choices (unless you hire a separate designer). They will opine on something very specific if you ask and will definitely bring something to your attention if they think you're about to make a huge mistake, but in general, you are responsible for all the materials selection. We met with 6 contractors before selecting Entourage. Of the 6 we met with, only 2 encouraged doing things "by the book" (i.e., getting the proper permit from the city). In fact, some of them actively discouraged us from obtaining the permit. Given the magnitude of the project, it made us a bit nervous that some of the contractors didn't want us to pull the proper permit (we understood that obtaining the permit will add to our budget and timeline and were ok with it). Of the 2 that did recommend doing things by the book, we went with Entourage because their pricing was more reasonable. FYI, Entourage handles all the work related to pulling the permit for minimal cost. Overall, we are very happy with how our house turned out and plan to hire them on future projects (we have also recommended them to several friends). Entourage's quality of work, especially as it relates to tiling, is just amazing. In fact, friends that came over to check out the "new" house commented on how they thought the project would've cost way more than what we ended up spending. Our primary contact, Paulina, was super responsive and helpful. They estimated that the project would take 3 - 4 months and it was completed almost exactly on the 3-month mark. 6 months after our remodel and Alex continues to deliver 5 star service. We weren't able to install our windows until after the remodel with Entourage was completed because we were waiting on HOA approval. Unfortunately during the new window install, the window contractor (a separate contractor from Entourage) chipped one of the tiles in our new primary bathroom walk-in shower leaving a small hole. I was worried about water intrusion so I called Alex and he sent someone from his team to fix it for us the very next business day - when the issue is wasn't even caused by them! We just got our bathroom and garage ceiling redone by Entourage. The rain from this past winter caused quite a bit of damage. Freddie and his team helped us remodel our two bathrooms recently. They were genuine, professional and hard-working. Just as the previous review said, Freddie was super easy to work with. Communications throughout the journey was excellent. Freddie came for the estimate and was pleasant to meet with. He was very flexible and gave us sensible recommendations on what need to be done. We received his estimate within the Same Day. He gave us several options on the start date and how to work around the holidays. We contacted a couple other contractors. One was said they were not available. The other one sent a project manager over. The guy had a bit of an attitude and was not quite flexible on what we did not want to replace (since we were on a budget). He sent over an estimate comparable with Freddie's in terms of costs but that was after two weeks we met. By then we had already decided to go with Freddie's team. Once the project started, we always received text from Freddie on the updates and he came by almost daily to check on the progress. His team always cleaned up and swept up at the end of the day. We have to say their tile work was amazing! We have seen pictures from other contractors that the tiles were not centered and the wood tiles were not layout nicely (like the same wood grain pattern placed almost next to each other). But our tiles were tastefully layout. Then, we had slipping concerns if we use the wall tiles on the curb of the shower floor, so Freddie went to several vendors to help us find the non-slip tiles that matches our wall tile color. These were the things that mattered when it came to remodeling. As Freddie always said, he wanted to make sure we are happy with his work. They finished both bathrooms on schedule. We had our new bathrooms ready for the winter break, even with the pause over the Thanksgivings weekend. On the last day when his team were wrapping up, he told us there is one year warranty on all his work, so just give him a call if there's any problem. A week later, he texted us and check if everything is good. So far, everything has been great and our new bathrooms are the best rooms in our house. So we will definitely be back for future projects.
