I am planning to remove a wall and open up my kitchen and living room. I thought I was going to have to put in a 25' beam. Mike came over and walked through the attic with me and explained to me why I didn't need to do that since the trusses and cords provided sufficient support. Another contractor was going to charge thousands of dollars to put in a beam. Mike didn't charge me anything to evaluate my situation even though his recommendations didn't get him a job. He saved me a lot of money and trouble down the road. read more

Couldn't say better things about my experience. So refreshing to work with someone who shows up when they say they're going to, cleans up and finishes on time. Fair prices with no extra hidden charges. Just completed the work as agreed. We hired ACW to replace two porch posts. They had a very quick response when I contacted them about the job and provided a detailed/professional bid. They showed up on time and Mike made my wife feel very comfortable. ACW made the repairs even better than expected, did a little extra work at no additional charge, provided good recommendations for future work without being pushy, and cleaned up better than any contractors we've worked with, I believe it was a fair price for the job and I would highly recommended them. read more

We had Mike and the ACW team out to do an overhall of a garage room which over the years had become the house junk drawer (see pic # 1--scroll to end). The ACW team gutted the room and made necessary repairs (pic # 2) to ceilings, walls, cabinet and doors. Then we later installed new cabinets and shelving (pics # 3, 4, 5). This is the 4th time we've used ACW, and I have nothing but great things to say about them! read more

I'd thought I'd owe ACW construction a review based on the work that was just completed on my exterior deck (11ft x 20ft) Based on long term exposure to the elements and termite damage we had to fully tear down our previous deck and rebuild it to similar specifications. A cold search on the internet does not result in many contractors that specialize in decks and if they do it's mostly high end high dollar builds. We was fortunate enough to run across ACW on Yelp and decided to have them provide a bid alongside a few other contractors. Mike w. Arrived on time discussed what we wanted and efferent provided a written electronic quote. Decided to go with ACW based on Mike's communication, willingness to listen and thought the quote was reasonable based on the scope of the project. Mike was easy to work with communicative and was agreeable to contractual changes and few updates to keep both of us clear on expectations and requirements. Once the work started , the crew lead by Saul did quality work and it felt as though they took the necessary time to correctly build the deck and did not try to rush the completion. The crew covered up, items such as sconces to avoid damage and at times put down protection against their ladders as to not damage the existing stucco. The little things such as this matter as if they take care of small things it will carry forward to the approach on larger parts of the project. Nightly, they cleaned up the worksite each day and stored all equipment neatly. I felt that each day I would send Mike or the crew questions and they were more than happy to respond or confirm. Moreover, when they had questions, needed confirmation, or ran into challenges they ensured they communicated with me prior to moving forward. In the end I am happy with the quality and interaction with Mike, Saul and ACW. And If we needed additional work I'd definitely use ACW again. read more

One of the best contractors I've worked with. Professional and high quality work. Everything was explained in detail and some very good suggestions were offered throughout the project. His crew was top notch. Even with a few snags that always happen, Mike was on top of it and had ideas how to work around the issues. Finished the project on time. read more

Mike came highly recommended. We can see why. Mike and his amazing crew solved a serious structural problem in our garage. In addition to the repair he also noticed additional work that needed to be repaired. He did what he said he was going to do and more. His crew showed up on time and left the job site clean and tidy. We look forward to recommending him to everyone that we know. Thank you. Daryl read more

We hired Mike for structural work on our kitchen remodel, and we keep returning to him because his team is skilled, prompt, and worth every penny. He started within a week of assessing our house and even finished AHEAD OF SCHEDULE -- something I've never heard of! I highly recommend ACW for your house work. read more

Performed all parts of the job in a very professional manner with no "after the job " mess. Everything was cleaned up and tidy. Will use them again if we need assistance. read more

I had ACW repair some old termite damage in my house - Mike was punctual, courteous, and a pleasure to deal with throughout. Pricing was reasonable as well, I will likely be using them again in the future! read more

I can't say enough good things about ACW Construction. We had a considerable amount of work done (a interior wall removed, 2 sliding glass doors removed, a 22 foot opening opened up to accommodate an accordion door, wood tongue and groove patio ceiling installed with fans and recess lights, new fine stucco installed and more) by ACW. It took about 4 weeks to complete and I couldn't be happier with the results. Mike and Saul are extremely professional, always on time and they don't waste any time. They work really hard and are really nice, too. I'm really happy we found them. Their price was reasonable as well. read more

I got five quotes on my kitchen expansion project, and Mike was the person I felt most comfortable with from the start. ACW was not the cheapest, but it was close. I chose to pay about 10% more than the cheapest quote because of Mike's professionalism, experience and manner. He and his crew arrived at 7:00 a.m. (impressive!) with all the materials needed for the project. They worked a long day to complete the demolition. They showed up every day between 7:00 and 7:15 and left between 2:00 and 3:00, completing the job ON TIME! Several friends told me not to listen to contractors' estimates of how long something will take because it always takes longer. Nope. Mike and his crew took just 10 days, as promised, despite hitting a small snag. There were some unexpected pipes in the wall (surprise!), and they cost a little bit more to relocate, but it was reasonable. His crew was diligent and respectful. These guys are hard workers! I don't think I heard any swear words in English or Spanish either. I appreciated that. They were careful to close the side gate every time and not let the dog out, also appreciated. I have a friend who's a handyman, and when he saw the completed project, he affirmed they did good work. Sorry my pics don't do it justice, but I can assure you they did exactly what I asked, and beautifully. I would definitely hire ACW for future projects. read more

Awesome work on some support framing in the ceiling and putting in a new wall in my garage for soundproofing an area for music. Owner was very responsive and came out with 24 hours to give an estimate. Also came out day of project to go over all the details and nuances about what the end work would look like again and introduce his workers. Workers were top notch and really professional. Everything with the project turned out great. I have since had a couple companies out to look over plans for insulation and finishing details and both commented that the framing was "perfect" and spaced correctly for weight distribution etc. Really happy with whole process. read more

We needed to remove an old bathroom vanity and mirror to replace with a new one. Mike and his team are super knowledgeable! They removed all of the materials from the old vanity and also a large mirror that covered a significant portion of our bathroom wall. They also assessed the best placement for the new vanity. I'm so happy with the end results and they left everything so clean after all of the work. I've already recommended them to my friends and I will definitely use them again in the future! read more

I hired Mike and his team to frame a doorway, and install a door in our open-style loft and I had an overall great experience. It was hard to find a reputable contractor that would take the project, because it was only 2 days. Mike was very responsive and communicated with me throughout the scheduling and ordering of the door casing and door. At the start of the 2 days, him and his team were there promptly at 7am to begin. He stayed while we had a final talk about the project before they began work, and helped us find a good solution for moving our light switched. He stayed while they set up the plastic and paper leading to and around the work area. Mike came shortly after the start of the second day to check in and see how things were going. He was very involved and cared about ensuring a happy client and that things were going well. The two guys that were doing the project were very nice, and they really took their time to ensure the job was done well. They cleaned up when they were done(I especially appreciate this because contractors have left a mess in the past) and the finished product looked great. I highly recommend hiring Mike and his team, and I'll be reaching out to him for projects in the future! read more

Mike and his son started my job on time @ 7:00 AM. The task here was to take down a decaying 2"x10" fascia board that ran 20 feet and replace it with a new one. The challenge was to carefully not disturb the DirecTV dish and push back the adjoining patio support cover that separated from the house. Mike cleverly - he is extremely good at on site engineering - devised various supporting mechanisms to flawlessly manage and complete the job. This is the second time that I utilized ACW Construction (previously they erected my 2-level deck) and will have Mike work on my future home projects. It is rare finding talent and professionalism like this today! Bob W. read more

Just wanted to let everyone know if you are looking to have any work done Mike at ACW is an excellent contractor. He recently did a back patio for the property that we are living in. We will continue to use and recommend ACW for any construction needs in the future. read more

I'm really glad to have found Mike and his company, ACW Construction. They completed a total redo of a leaky top floor patio which sits above a living room below. The estimate provided ended up being the actual cost of the project, no one tried to upsell me, and the work was done quickly and with precision. Most importantly, I supervised much of the work remotely utilizing a lock box for entry, a remotely administered alarm system, and Blink cameras, and my trust was well placed. The crew only ever went to and from the job site and followed my procedures for locking up upon exit. I would absolutely work with ACW and Mike again and would definitely recommend them for your project. read more

We'd been trying to find a contractor to fulfill our need of moving our front door forward. After meeting with a handful of contractors and being ghosted each time, I turned to NextDoor asking for recommendations. ACW Construction was one of the recommendations and I reached out for a quote. Mike, the owner, was responsive right away and we set up a consultation. From the get-go, Mike was punctual and very clear in everything that had to be done. We received a quote within a week and signed the contract. Once our project began, Mike and his guys were always on time. I'm fact, they were usually ready to work before I had opened the door. Saul and Alfredo, the 2 main guys who worked on our home, were so hard working, detailed, kind, communicative, helpful and honest. They took good care to try to keep as much dust and debris out of the areas that were not being worked on. They left the areas super tidy and kept us in the loop of what was coming next, or when the next inspection would be. I cannot speak highly enough of Mike and his team. Hard working and trustworthy people who did a fabulous job. Our project turned out better than we could have imagined. The only problem is that now I just want to redo more things! Whichever projects we'll have in the future, we will be using ACW Construction again! Thank you so so very much for your phenomenal work ethic, communication, customer service and honesty. read more

Can a dining room transform into an office? Yes it sure can, but you'll need to call ACW construction for that! We called ACW construction to come give us a bid on closing out two openings to the dining room (one with french doors/glass and the other with dry wall). Mike came out to give a quote right away and even followed up to make sure I got it/didn't have any questions. His bid was competitive with our other bids plus he was able to start right away. The project took a reasonable time to complete and turned out beautiful. We're going to change paint colors in the surrounding rooms so I will post pictures after that's done. The french doors and glass above turned out better than I imagined as did the shelving he and his team made us. Mike was really instrumental to our creative process, checking in with us periodically to ensure what they created was what we had envisioned. They were particularly great about taping plastic to protect the surroundings, taping paper to the floor and cleaning up after everything was done. A 5 star experience all the way! Spoke with Mike to ask what I thought was a simple question, he really took the time to dissect what I wanted done what I was envisioning send him a couple of pictures and he was very honest and stating that he can't give me a quote but he can give me a roundabout idea he understood I had a budget that I tried to stay in and he really took the time to explain the process step by step. I have to say I'm definitely motivated to increase my budget just from the integrity and knowledge he provided just by answering some of my questions. By all means just from that simple 10-minute conversation he's definitely the right person for the job based on the service I received over the phone! I have just read most of the five star reviews for ACW Construction, and I agree with all of the comments. I hired ACW Construction for some garage work. They built an attic storage space, installed drywall, attic storage ladder, electrical work, some concrete work, LED lights, and trim. I could not be happier. The work looks amazing. They were on time everyday. When the workers left in the evening hours, they made sure the work area was clean. The entire job was completed as quoted at a very reasonable price. I plan on hiring Mike and his crew in the future for bathroom remodeling. Mike, thanks for the great work and attention to detail. read more

ACW Construction are Rockstars! After attempting to find a reliable, prudent, knowledgable contractor for over a month to remove a load bearing wall, I finally found Mike Wagner and team. After contacting Mike, he came out the following day to evaluate the project and provide with an estimate proposal. He was very detailed and answered every one of my questions with confidence, like he had done this many times before. With a load bearing wall, I wanted to feel confident about the person I hired to do the work. He followed up with an official proposal a day later and I awarded him the business. When they came out to do the work and after some testing they realized that the original scope of work was not fully needed. He reduced the pricing accordingly. Great, honest work. Special thanks to Saul. His experience shines through. Great job. read more

I only write bad reviews on Yelp, but, I am making an exception for Mike. :-) If you have a small simple project, you could go with the cheapest guy. But, if your project is complicated, go with ACW. ACW Construction is awesome! After meeting with several contractors for our garage remodel, we moved forward with Mike and his team and couldn't be happier. We had complete trust in their work from start to finish and will absolutely use ACW again. 10/10 and would 100% recommend! read more

Mike was one of 3 contractors I contacted for bids on repairing the sway back roof line over our garage. One contractor didn't reply, another came out a gave a verbal quote of 4 days and $9k. And then there was Mike. Thank goodness. He said he'd done this type of work before. It would take one day. And his verbal estimate was less than a third of the other guy. Far more impressive, he submitted his written estimate/contract that same evening. It was well structured, and covered everything we'd discussed. When we talked the next day I asked for a one-sentence addition to the contract, which he again turned around the same day. (No other contractor I've worked with has been able to send out docs same day, or even next day. It was a pleasant surprise.) He and his crew started at 7 a.m. sharp. Were done by 2 p.m. They called us out to approve the new line of the ridge, then secured it into place. No issues, no surprises. Just a nice straight roof line. It was a real pleasure working with Mike and his crew. read more

If all contractors were like ACW Construction it really would be a wonderful world. I enthusiastically recommend them for dependable, professional and tidy construction services. Mike showed up to save the day when another contractor let me down, and not only did he under-promise and overdeliver he did it for a fair price, and worked his crew over the weekend to save my bacon. He also solved several problems for me as they came up and was very easy to work with. He responded to me promptly every time I reached out. When I went to check on the framing work, it looked great. Everything was done meticulously and the job site was left very clean. He did all that he promised. If you're lucky enough to get on their schedule, I highly recommend you choose ACW Construction. I'm so happy I found this company. Just finished two more projects with this company--a beautiful office and a garage that the neighbors will envy. Mike and Saul did an amazing job. Everything they did was smooth with no hiccups. Any additional requests they did and they were experts. I am so so thankful to them and so relieved I went with them. Let me start by saying I have never written a review on Yelp before and this review is long overdue. My wife and I purchased this home in August this year that was built in 1961 and was very outdated and mostly original inside. We had never done any remodeling and the search for a trustworthy contractor was our first step. I have to say, finding someone that actually shows up when they say they will and listens to what you want is more difficult than we expected. That is where Mike made his first excellent impression. Mike showed up on time, actually brought a ladder and tape measure (some contractors didn't) and made great recommendations to help us out. Mike also pointed out where we could save money by doing some things ourselves. Once the work started, Mike, Saul and his crew were all respectful, showed up on time, completed the work in a timely manner and did a great job on all work that they completed. They removed a wall separating the living room from the dining room, installed a beam into the attic, and relocated the opening into one of our bathrooms. This is just the beginning of our remodel as we will be doing an expansion next year which includes doubling the size of our kitchen and adding a new master bath. Mike will always be our go to guy for any remodels we do. Thank you Mike and Saul I'm sorry this review took so long to write, I normally don't write reviews. Mike and Luisa, Orange CA. read more
